Alright so this manager in my game world lost his club for inactivity and it's been almost a week after that, and his team has lot of exciting talents but it's a competitive gameworld (60 teams)...Here are a few eye-catching ones:

M Thurram, Boubacar Kamara, Rayan Ait Nouri, Ryan Gravenberch, C stengs, W Saliba, Lassina Traore, E Palacios, Jean Todibo ...

Who would you go for first? Provided that you I can only get a max of three players AND there'll be definitely competition for each of these players....And none of the players are expensive either.

So experienced players of this game on this forum, what would be your strategy? Bid first OR wait it out and gauge the competition? Steal a less fancied player instead of maxing out the transfer limit on a better known player and hope you get lucky (others would max out too ig)...

Also, I wanna know how long it takes for the the highest bid to be accepted? Say it takes 20 hours, what if somebody else BIDS else bids an hour before that the 20 hour period, would it take further time for a deal to be accepted?

If so, is it possible to stall a player from being sold to anyone?

I have found that it appears to slow the process down a bit if you are the first person to bid, then others bid, wait a few hours and then withdraw your bid and put in a slightly different bid, it worked brilliantly once for a player on level 5 concerns a max cash bid from another team collapsed as he played an extra game before bid went through and my just above the minimum bid won the player. Cant say it works every time.

  2. Me again. I am looking at raising a bit of cash for new risers and to meet my wages, which of the following (all out on loan as not near my first team) should I cash in on?

    M Pessina, K Tsimikas, E Smith Rowe

    S Benrahma, S Alzate, G Diangana, P Ghiglione

From my actual playing squad I could also sell one of F Coquelin, Fred, A Ramsey or Delaney as I have a few bigger DM and Ramsey is having a stinker of a run for me, two seasons and never above 6.2 average in the league (he saves all his goals for Europe 4 goals in 6 games at 7.5 per game, he hasnt scored four goals in the league in total in two seasons!)

    thanks for any suggestions

It comes down to a dice roll between the highest bidders

yeah I agree, have had many experiments with bidding for players (another manager in a quiet game world wondered the same thing so we would try out one team bid first for one player, the other team bid first for another, same day bid then withdraw it , then new bid followed by other team, tried disclosing the bid, tried hiding the bid. no pattern came out. Then we did the same in a "busy" world to see if we as bigger teams got any preference and no its a complete lottery.

Currently in a predicament, Aguero is my main striker and won golden boot this season and my highest ever league finish but i am expecting him to get a decrease due to age and lack of playing time at some point...problem is the only strikers 93+ who are available are Aubamayang, Lukaku and Immobile.

Feel like Selling Aguero for Lukaku is the best choice due to age but I also don't see Auba getting a decrease any time soon. Even is Aguero does get a -1 then he's still higher than Lukaku and equal with Auba.

    What would you do?

When its close like this decision I always look at the stats in the gameworld itself. How have the others performed? if they are nowhere near Aguero then keep him, dont break what isnt broken, a year or -1 isnt going to suddenly mean no goals. once a goal scorer always a goal scorer. even at 93 I bet he will still be prolific. Dzecko is in two of my game worlds and huntelaar in a smaller world is 4 points off my top players and much much older but still outscores everyone in the league. Only thing you will lose out on is possible cashing in value, but hopefully you win something and get 10m for that and there is your player  cash loss gone

  5. Nice to see an AFCW player get an upgrade. Strange one though, Roscrow only played 14 mins in League 1 and 3 EFL trophy games totalling 284 mins, 72 -73 yet Adam Longman played 5 games in Lge 1 2 goals and an assist, as well as EFL cup game and a EFL trophy game totalling 612 mins and still 65 rated

Probably as he is on loan from Brighton, but annoying that "the Crow" is the only womble deemed to need a change.

SWIKI REPORT TODAY:  📖 Biggest News is there is very little to report in 7pages.

Lots of jumping to many, many countries and just doing a couple of players here and there. Other than:-

I noted Scotland had Clyde: with 6 players edited  and Forfar: with 5 players added - reminds me about an old football score read out on a Saturday at 5pm ages ago - "East Fife four,  Forfar five!" 😀 get your Noggin round that one!

Similar to another, again decades ago in Test Cricket ... "Lillee caught Willey bowled Dilly" ...True!

also noted Juventus had Kevin Monzialo, Luca Clemenza and Ribeiro Marcelinho edited.

Im just catching up with this thread after two days off, but I heard that score mentioned above when it was only 85 mins into the game, so it was East fife four, so far forfar five!

I had a bug in a Gameworld where a player developed level 5 concerns out on loan. Next season was automatically transfer listed and an external team bid. I bid a bit higher but my bid was rejected and the players concern level was level 1 when I looked at the profile. Of course no bug was found when I reported it. 😕 Never seen it happen before in my years of playing.

I had a similar thing happen in my game world. a team had a bid accepted on level 5 player, then the team that won the bid ran out of cash coz it took so long to go through (people constantly changing  the amount of their bids)so he ended up getting the player back in his squad and no concerns at all!

  8. Ryan Longman at AFC Wimbledon looks a decent long term investment. 140k for 19 yr old playing every game for us at the moment, 65 rated so will deffo rise, probably only to 75 max, but if he goes like the previous loanees we have had, Aaron Ramsdale, George Long, Kelle Roos, Mickel Forss etc all playing for their "home" teams now on a fairly regular basis. I would say he is a better all round player than Forss as Forss is a greedy goal scorer whereas Longy is a heads up and look around player and has set up a few goals even if he has only got one himself. Good purchase for very small teams or competative world as brighton not afraid to play youngsters and a season of mans footy will do him the world of good. Just hoping we can keep him for the whole season as he is linking well with Piggot.

  9. blimey 5th in the table and Salford sack their manager! Good job AFCW dont think like that, not sure we have been as high as 5th ever in league 1.

Mind you two clean sheets away from home in a row, pretty good considering we hadnt kept one clean sheet away in previous 22 games. (We were a great both teams to score and AFCW to lose bet away from home)

  10. Whats the most number of players anyone can remember having injured or suspended at one time.

Last season and this one of my teams had 5 injured (all of my forwards so I had to by in a player as no player left in my squad could play up front!) and two suspended, I am down to 4 injured and one NMF at the moment so light at the end of the tunnel! Though it is now my high rated defenders getting injured

I dont even play fast or tackle above normal!

One season is ok to take but two in a row! I wouldnt mind so much but I always finish 10th or 11th in the competative game world and hoped that I could get higher this time.

Money is the main goal for many players, it’s like these who move to China for 400/500k a week. Arnautovic was a good example of this.

Bit of a different scale to Tom Elliot though.

There was Rooney as well who joined non league Salford at the time from SPL’s Aberdeen. I’m sure that was for a bigger wage. No one can tell me non league is better that the SPL... or is it 😂

Unless Sibbick is injured I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a move that benefited the owner who owns both Oostende and Barnsley.

who will be the 300th person to "like" something I said?

    Feel the tension!

Toby Sibbick was the other one who made the same switch he’s not made a single appearance. Great signing or just a good way of transferring money 😂

I bet the fee was undisclosed too 😂

Aaron Ramsdale, Arnaud Bodart, Marteen Paes, Maarten Vandervoort (although he has risen recently)

Good ones for the future are Marcel Pitaluga and Hugo Souza (Flamengo)

Sibbick is a strange case, he memorably scored the 4th AFC Wimbledon goal V west Ham and moved to Barnsley soon after. Was seen as a good move for him at the time (he was just starting to be a regular at AFCW) but after the first 17 or so games at barnsley hardly played at the "higher level" now another move and not playing at all (not even on the bench except for his "debut". Could be doing well wages/signing on fee wise , but surely playing football is what he wants at 21 yrs old?

That said Tom Elliott left us for Millwall and again hardly played for 2 seasons but apparently doubled his wages, now at big spending Salford I believe and hardly playing full time there. Cant blame him as he is 29 so nearing his "retirement". but a real shame as he was great for us.

Dont know what goes on behind the scenes, but I always keep an eye on ex wombles, and have a team full of them in one game world.

Another from today 0-1 away win
    Shots on Target

Just added these coz it shows team can and do win games with little or no posession and with their only shots on target. Also it was MK losing 2-1 and AFC Wimbledon winnng 1-0 so what a perfect day!

Anyone had success with 343 formation?   I haven't, but I am tempted by the possibilities.  Also I like the style in the real world.

I never use it as concedes too many goals, however 523 is very similar but it gives you a much more solid base to defend with. I play attacking with it as even if 1 or 2 defenders go forward in an attack, you still have 3 or 4 at the back for the counter. Only conceded 3 in 17 games with that.

I’m an Oldham Athletic fan.  Calling them a football team is pushing the limits of credibility.

I know we were not the first, but I remember as a kid standing on the west bank at Plough Lane hearing your fans sing "Oldham, Oldham" and we sang back Let em go, let em go!, all good clean family fun even in the 80's, happy days..

    8pm transfers:

    • Jean-Victor Makengo (83) to Udinese
    • Karlo Letica (82) to Sampdoria
    • Amer Gojak (85) to Torino
    • Yordan Osorio (83) to Parma
    • Jairo Izquierdo (83) to Cadiz
    • Andreas Hanche-Olsen (78) to Gent
    • Maxime Busi (80) to Parma
    • Lilian Brassier (80) to Brest on loan

Brassier to Brest! sounds like a move made in heaven! Should fit in nicely as Benny Hill might have said!

  17. just a couple of things I have noticed re Transfers in SM.

You can only bid for one player from a team at a time, and cant do a deal if you have a bid  in for one of your players from that team, I currently have 3 bids in on my squad from the same team so have to either agree or decline them before I can buy another from that team, crazy huh!

In another world where you cant buy from unmanaged teams SM doesnt seem to understand that, so every few days a bid comes in for a player from another unmanaged team, gets accepted then SMFA blocks the deal! You would think with the unmanaged rule that SM would follow their own rules and not allow unmanaged bids!

Ah well thats my rant over, it is after all just a simple game. Cant wait for all those updates to happen in September. oh wait...
