  1. Re: The Official Sky Bet Championship Thread We're Derby County, we're top of the league!
  2. Re: Official Spanish La Liga Discussion Thread Hey could anyone tell me anything about Omar Mascarell from Real Madrid? Just signed on a season long loan for Derby just wondering if anyone knows much about him?
  3. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread The situation at Forest is a little embarrassing it is not? I actually feel sorry for Pearce. Fawaz is slowly ripping Forest to pieces bit by bit its brilliant
  4. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Lost for words. Its hard to take especially when he was injured in such a meaningless game. Looks like we'll be looking at the loan market for that area this season now as I can't see Eustace lasting the whole season and Hanson isn't experienced enough just yet... At the end of the day though we are still in an incredibly strong position and I'm sure there are many clubs in this League that would swap positions in a heartbeat (Blackpool spring to mind)
  5. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread So incredibly unprofessional. Sounds similar to the Forest owners when they tweeted about us losing the play off final which was Forests highlight of the season which says it all really.. Why embarrass yourself and the club like that? Its completely contradictory aswell seeing as it looks like Blackpool will be in League 1 next year and Preston may well get promoted.
  6. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Its a big signing indeed and by the sounds of it its also our record transfer fee. £3.75m. As you can imagine I couldn't give two hoots how much we paid for him. We've got the missing piece in the jigsaw and I can confidently say that we will be there or there abouts for promotion next season.
  7. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Derby have agreed a fee with West Brom for George Thorne. An absolutely unbelievable effort from everyone involved at DCFC and I can confidently say that we will have the best midfield in the Championship next season. Period. ()
  8. Re: Official Spanish La Liga Discussion Thread Is there anyone on here who would be kind enough to tell me a bit about Ivan Calero? Just signed for Derby from Atletico Madrid....

  10. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Can't imagine it will be close to a fee he could of got if he was under contract?

  13. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Well we've signed Cyrus Christie today who is a very good prospect. Whether he'll be a starter I'm not too sure but its a good signing nonetheless. Starting XI for the first game I'd go GK: Grant New RB (Christie for now) CBs: Keogh, Buxton LB: Forsyth DM:*Thorne* CM: Bryson CM: Hendrick LW: Russell CF: Martin RW: Dawkins Subs: Roos, Whitbread, Eustace, Hughes, Ward, Bennett, New CF. Still hoping we go after Wisdom once he isn't named in Liverpool's 25 man squad. Don't think we need a CB I think O'Brien could make the step up this season apparently he's looked very good so far this season and we already have Whitbread. Also Barks may be making a comeback but probably won't be the same player that we saw when he first signed. Our midfield is ridiculous for this league though.
  14. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread So far so good for Derby - Hendrick, Forsyth, Hughes, Buxton and now Bryson have signed new deals with us. Bryson turned down a move to Burnley. Absolutely brilliant news. Looks like we are going to keep the majority of the squad we had last season and George Thorne looks like he's going to sign permanently in the next few days. Stevie Mac is looking to bring in a striker and a right back as well as Thorne so we shall see. Staying down doesn't look too bad afterall....
  15. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Agreed. Most one sided play off final since we beat West Brom when we got spanked for 90 minutes and won. It was basically role reversal on Saturday.

  17. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Just got back. Absolutely devastated. Dominated from start to finish. I don't actually think we could have done any more other than score a goal. They just took there one chance that should have been cleared by Bucko who has been superb for us this season. At the end of the day though, if you don't beat a side that has gone down to 10 men you don't deserve to get promoted. A real sucker punch and its hard to take but I'm extremely proud of how we have played all season and we will be better for it next season.
  18. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Final tomorrow. Cannot wait to get down there. Would love it if we got the win tomorrow. Like McClaren and our own Sir Jake Bucko have said if we play like we have done all season, their is only going to be one outcome. I certainly hope so and it would be what we deserve. Lets hope justice is served tomorrow. COYR.
  19. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Got my Wembley ticket today. Sold out in 54 minutes Incredibly lucky to get one.
  20. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread
  21. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread I think we proved alot of doubters wrong yesterday in terms of our performance. We got alot of stick about the way we played in the first leg but we were flawless apart from conceding in the last minute and we fully deserve to be in the final im just glad I'm not Steve McLaren - he has to choose a midfield in the final! Impossible considering Hendrick is bang in form and scoring for fun, Bryson is our player of the year and has been so good this season and Hughes' ball retention and skill is sublime for a 19 year old. Thorne will definitely start though due to him being our only defensive midfield option. He was brilliant yesterday as well! We are spoilt for choice in that department. Bring on Wembley!
  22. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Worst game of football I have ever seen. Unbelievably dull in comparison to yesterday's game. I'll take either of them at Wembley (If we get there!)
  23. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Brighton in the play offs. I fancy our chances. We've beat them twice this season already but if we don't do it its been a great season for us. Highest scorers in the league and Derby's highest ever points tally in the Championship.
  24. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread
  25. Re: The Official Npower Championship Thread Absolutely. I thought he was doing a great job. In all seriousness, if I was to put myself in the position of a Forest fan, I would be saying that sacking him is absolutely the right decision and the club under Fawaz is turning into a bit of a joke. Billy completely lost the fans and the support of the board. He didn't exactly help himself when he banned the press from any interviews. It was a disaster waiting to happen. He didn't even come out an apologise for the 5-0 thumping they got from us which says it all because of this "interview ban". Yes he did have injuries but he constantly used it as an excuse and the gumps just got tired of hearing the same old answer. The problem with Billy Davies is that he is unbelievably arrogant and whenever anything does go wrong it is never his fault. If you look at his time at his previous clubs, mainly Derby and Preston, he brings instant success, but eventually he will fail, start asking for more investment and when he doesn't get what he wants he will publicly go out and attack the board. In my opinion no club in their right mind will want to employ him again due to his track record. He is a poisonous dwarf and once he left the three clubs he has managed (Preston, Derby, Forest) he left them in a worse position than the one he took over. You only have to look at Preston now, we have only just recovered from the Premier League fiasco. All in all, I don't think we'll be seeing Billy in management anytime soon. As for Pearce being appointed, I find it rather bizzare that he has to wait until the end of the season. If Gary Brazil was to take Forest to the play offs and miraculously took them up (unlikely I know), what are they going to do then? Personally I think its a pretty below par appointment and they will struggle next year.
