Scotland wants to be known as a separate country but England needs Scotland's help and wants them to be united as UK. Probably something to do with Andy Murray. When he plays well he's British when he doesn't he's Scottish.

I can't think of many clubs in the Premier League who have done badly in the transfer window thus far. Man Utd and Southampton may be considered but I wouldn't be very concerned if I was a fan of either. It seems only a matter of time before the chequebook is out on Rojo, (not convinced on Vidal or Benatia), and Van Gaal will also sign Blind IMO. However, he will know there are clear weaknesses in the side which he will address in this window I think. Also, Southampton may consider it bad as they have sold the core of their side for £60m+ but they are still working at a business profit and on paper their side is still not weak and should achieve mid-table quite easily. I also think Koeman will sign another CB to shore up their defence and possibly another signing, so they should be fine.
My beloved Burnley haven't been as active in terms of spending money as they have a tiny budget, so they may be considered as having a bad one but when you don't have the money what can you do? Dyche has did well with the resources at his disposal and the free transfers of Taylor and S.Reid look superb bringing crucial PL experience to the side. Overall, every side for me has did well in the summer and it should make for the best Premier League season yet. It is just so competitive.
Arsenal's signings of Sanchez, Debuchy, Chambers & Ospina look fantastic and Wenger is wise enough to know if he will need another signing. Chelsea's business also has been superb so overall what a season in store!!

Three men were standing in line to get into heaven one day. Apparently it had been a pretty busy day, though, so Peter had to tell the first one, "Heaven's getting pretty close to full today, and I've been asked to admit only people who have had particularly horrible deaths. So what's your story?"
So the first man replies: "Well, for a while I've suspected my wife has been cheating on me, so today I came home early to try to catch her red-handed.As I came into my 25th floor apartment, I could tell something was wrong, but all my searching around didn't reveal where this other guy could have been hiding. Finally, I went out to the balcony, and sure enough, there was this man hanging off the railing, 25 floors above ground!By now I was really mad, so I started beating on him and kicking him, but wouldn't you know it, he wouldn't fall off. So finally I went back into my apartment and got a hammer and starting hammering on his fingers. Of course, he couldn't stand that for long, so he let go and fell -- but even after 25 stories, he fell into the bushes, stunned but okay.I couldn't stand it anymore, so I ran into the kitchen, grabbed the fridge and threw it over the edge where it landed on him, killing him instantly. But all the stress and anger got to me, and I had a heart attack and died there on the balcony."
"That sounds like a pretty bad day to me," said Peter, and let the man in.
The second man comes up and Peter explains to him about heaven being full, and again asks for his story.
"It's been a very strange day.You see, I live on the 26th floor of my apartment building, and every morning I do my exercises out on my balcony.Well, this morning I must have slipped or something, because I fell over the edge. But I got lucky, and caught the railing of the balcony on the floor below me.I knew I couldn't hang on for very long, when suddenly this man burst out onto the balcony.I thought for sure I was saved, when he started beating on me and kicking me.I held on the best I could until he ran into the apartment and grabbed a hammer and started pounding on my hands. Finally I just let go, but again I got lucky and fell into the bushes below, stunned but all right.Just when I was thinking I was going to be okay, this refrigerator comes falling out of the sky and crushes me instantly, and now I'm here."
Once again, Peter had to concede that that sounded like a pretty horrible death.
The third man came to the front of the line, and again the whole process was repeated.Peter explained that heaven was full and asked for his story.
"Picture this," says the third man, "I'm hiding naked inside a refrigerator..."

What's that supposed to mean? We finished a creditable 23rd out of 24 and only 6 points adrift of safety.

    Real Oviedo in Play-off Success
    Monday 4th August
    Stadio San Paolo, Naples
    Attendance 58,433
Real Oviedo secured promotion back to division one with a hard fought win over Ghora's Leeds United.
Alexis Sanchez converted a 5th minute penalty to settle the nerves of the Los Azules after Shane Ferguson produced some good skill to draw a foul from Leeds' Cuadrado.

A new arrival and a young wonderkid then combined to score Oviedo's 2nd and the winner in the 36th minute.

What was most impressive was the way the Spanish clubs new signings settled in with immediate impact.
New goalkeeper Keylor Navas rewarded the managers confidence in him with the captain's armband & gave a man of the match performance, saving 11 shots.
Holtom took a bit of a risk before this game, selling not only the highest rated players at the club, but players from various positions, he had infact weakened the team by having to play two under 80 rated players (two loans came in too late from Feyenoord - the Oviedo managers mistake) due to his new signings being 80% defensive.
But it worked out well with the club securing a clean sheet and the club look forward to division one football next season!

    The Story so far

After the relative success of the cult classic 'Rags To Riches - The Rise to Prominence' I thought a sequel was in order despite the original still not having a definitive winner just yet. I wanted to make this one even more difficult to the original and came up with the following.

    The Concept

Is a simple one, it will consist of 5 Division's. The idea will be to manage 20 of the worst clubs from around the globe. Teams will be on a similar level regarding Squad value, rating and stadium capacity. The worst 20 teams will be managed and the remaining teams will be unmanaged. Thus making 5 Divisions of 20 teams.
Starting with original squads and a transfer budget of £20 million the aim is simple, to take your team from the lower leagues to Division 1, a difficult task in itself. However to be named the "Ultimate Manager" you will need to complete the following:
    ~ Win Division 1
    ~ Win the Domestic Cup*
    ~ Win the Domestic Shield*
    * Please note that until the set up is created I am not entirely sure if there will be two domestic cups, however the likelihood is there will be if there are 20 clubs per league.
In the unlikely event that a manager wins one of the Domestic Cups outside of Division 1, this does count towards your trophy tally.
It is extremely important that you only spend 5 million (plus sales) out of your budget every season for the first four seasons, and do not abuse this so the transfer ruling is as follows:
    ~ Season 1 - Spend anything you have over 15m + sales
(You start with 20m so that gives you 5m for the season).
    ~ Season 2 - Spend anything you have above 10m + sales.
~ Season 3 - Can spend anything you have above 5m + sales.
~ Season 4 onwards can spend whatever funds you have.
Now what makes this different to the original concept apart from what has been outlined already will be the twist in the transfer rules. In the original concept you were allowed to buy players from unmanaged clubs, this time round you will only be able to buy players from unmanaged clubs once every two seasons, with no buying from unmanaged clubs applied to season 1. The emphasis here is to use your scouting skills (or others off the forums) to initially build your squad. So it will be as follows:
~ Season 1 - No buying from unmanaged clubs.
~ Season 2 - Buying from unmanaged clubs.
~ Season 3 - No buying from unmanaged clubs.
~ Season 4 - Buying from unmanaged clubs.
~ Season 5 onwards - To be confirmed.
I decided on going down the route of clubs from around the world, this will make the set up even more challenging than the original as the club's will be far stronger in the 4 unmanaged divisions than just British clubs. For those of you who would like to familiarise yourselves with the original idea click here.
This time around all managers will start in division 5, the amount of clubs managed will be 20, with clubs of similar rating and stadium size, please note that many clubs do not have the required 21 players, with many only having one player so no transfers will be allowed until after your chairman brings in the required amount of players, (before the first friendly.)
I appreciate that players are chosen at random and as a consequence it could significantly increase squad values, however it is a risk I am willing to take. I envisage most chairman's bringing in 10K players with the odd exception so I am making you all aware of this from the onset.
Also where you had clubs like my beloved Newcastle to contend with in division 1 clubs of this standard will be in division 2, so immediately this will be much tougher than facing the likes of Middlesbrough for example, with clubs such as Sunderland, Boca Juniors and FC Twente to name but a few in Division 4 you can see how much more difficult this set up will be.
So there we have it, I am hoping that if you like a real challenge where being a great manager is not enough but a great tactician, strategist and scout as well as being able to run a club on a financial shoe string will be of great importance, with a definitive goal which is to be the best then this set up will appeal to you.
There can only be one winner, do you think you have what it takes to be crowned the best?
