  1. Re: Bundesliga Ratings Discussion

Looking to sign Mario Mandzukic for a very small price of 9 million.

30 million would sign me Lewandowski' date=' but it will prove expensive for me.

Does anyone think Mandzukic features in Bayern's plans this season ( Scored a goal in today's match, so it's a good start ) and potentially reach a rating of 92 ?

Just looking for a FC as a poacher parterning Aguero and Neymar as strikers.[/quote']

I'd buy Mandzukic. Even if he doesn't go up this review, he is now firmly Bayern's first choice striker (that is if you class Muller as an attacking midfielder) so he should go up in future reviews.

  2. Re: Official Arsenal Thread

I feel sorry for you lot with them prices' date=' ridiculous. Mine is only £309 and it costs me £4.20 to get to the game and back.[/quote']

"only" £309. That is still ridiculous. A season ticket at the best team on Earth right now, Bayern Munich, is only £100, which is about the same price as my local Blue Square South side!

  3. Re: Bundesliga Ratings Discussion

It seems that with the 2012-13 standings' date=' teams from 16th to 8th have been updated on soccerwiki, a few updated today on soccermanager, so im assuming 7th to 1st (ending with Bayern) will be done over the next few days.

A week or so and it'd be finished.. maybe someone heard my rant. :D[/quote']

Bit strange to do the rating updates before the season gets underway tonight isn't it?

  4. Re: Official Arsenal Thread

Tough draw for us. We should obviously win it and we should definately win the home leg. It is just the away leg I'm concerned about in Turkey, what with the raucous support.

What I don't get is how UEFA can put Celtic and some Kazak no hopers in the same section and put all the big teams in another. You'll get the big teams in the Europa League and some minnows in the Champions League.

As for this Fernebache getting kicked out rumour, why is this and you say it applies to Schalke too?

  5. Re: Official Arsenal Thread

I see that Arsenal target, Bernard, has joined Shakhtar for 25m euros. Lets be honest, that deal is to boost his chances for the World Cup next year. If he moved to Arsenal, he'd be second choice AM behind Cazorla and Dortmund to Reus. At Shakhtar he knows he will play on a regular basis.

I am hoepful we can sign someone in this transfer window :) I think someone we should be looking at is Gustavo of Bayern. He will struggle to get picked over Schweinsteiger, Martinez and even Thiago this season, and our squad needs an out and out DM. Plus, he should get regularly picked, which should boost his World Cup chances, so if he can put that deal in front of his face...! Knowing Arsenal however we will panick buy 5 hours before the window shuts!

Anyhow, Champions League playoff draw coming up on Eurosport. I hope we draw Pacos de Ferreria of Portugal or Shakhter Karagandy of Kazakhstan. Most likely Celtic or AC Milan though knowing our luck!

  6. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

getting kroos for 50 mill... worth it? Cash is semi useful' date=' but kroos will hit around 94 right?[/quote']

Hmmm, I wouldn't do that deal unless you really need Kroos. He is likely to face stiff competition from Muller, Gotze and Thiago in CAM at Bayern in 13/14 and so he might not get 94, meaning 50m is a bit over priced.

if two people are Tieing on a bid' date=' how does SM decide where the player goes?[/quote']

The player will go to the highest placed team in the league standings. So if you are in a higher league than the other team or in the same league as the other team but in a better position in the league table, you will get the player.

  7. Re: Brazilian Football

He played well last night in the 3-2 win over Vasco. Seems to be getting regular games now and always looks lively. Played better than Lodeiro last night.

Not sure about the SM score. Someone more familiar with the game could answer that' date=' but he is becoming a regular and Elias is getting a look in too.[/quote']

Cheers Jim. I indeed watched that game last night also and Vitinho got 2 assisits and looked to have pace and trickery, with Seedorf still proving that he is class. Only downside is that he got subbed off after 70 mins. Anyhow, it looks like he is going to get played regularly this season so I've signed him up while he is 77 in the hope of a rise to 84ish.

Being realistic now, can Botafogo win the league, meaning Vitinho could rise even more?

  8. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

Ok' date=' so this is my R.Madrid squad.

    Casillas, De Gea

Chiellini, Marcelo, Alba, Ramos, Vidic, Varane, Lahm

Alonso, Schweinsteiger, Martinez, Yaya Toure, Fabregas

Ronaldo, Ribery, Gotze, Di Maria, Silva, Mata, Isco

    Neymar, Rooney, Higuain, Benzema, Suarez

Realistically i could do with selling a defender, a midfielder and a striker due to concern levels etc.

I was thinking Vidic, Yaya and perhaps Rooney/Higuain?

    I need opinions please.[/quote']

Don't sell any of them mate. They are all world class. Try to rotate your squad where possible to keep concerns down.

  9. Re: Anything and Everything on SM Development

Right, I am probably going to get slaughtered for this, but I will say it anyway. Why don't SM add women footballers, a women's data pack or women's leagues? Here are a few of my reasons:

    1. SM's main target market is the USA (hence "soccer" manager). USA has one of the best women's teams in the world and one of the best women's league in the world, so by having a womens' section, it would open up to a market already keen or interested in the game in the USA.

    2. The women's game is growing and growing. The 2011 World Cup in Germany was very well attended and there are now many competitive international teams, with the game coming more and more professional.

    3. What other women's football games are out there, video game or online game wise?! None. SM could be the first to move into this market and thereby create a monopoly and capitalise on demand that is out there.

Why don't SM add a women's data pack, women's leagues or even a "WSM"?! No doubt it isn't as good as spectacle as the mens and isn't as popular, but you can say that about pretty much any sport. Marketed correctly, this isn't a bad market to go into at all.

  10. Re: Games of the Day

    Games I'd reccommend- Wednesday 10th July 2013:

Today is the start of Women's Euro 2013, with Italy V Finland at 5pm BST and Sweden V Denmark at 7.30pm BST.

There is also the U20 World Cup semi finals, with France V Ghana at 4pm BST and Iraq V Uruguay at 7pm BST.

    Europa League:

There is a Europa League 1st qualifying round match 2nd leg between Linfield and IF Fuglafjordur at 7.45pm BST. (first leg was 2-0 Linfield).

    Domestic Action:

In terms of domestic action, the best tie today is the Ukranian Super Cup, with CL last 16 side Shakhtar Donestk playing Chornomorets (last years cup runners up to double winners Shakhtar). Kick off 7pm BST.

The best friendlies today include 1860 Munich V Werder Bremen at 4.30pm BST and Basel V Borussia Dortmund at 6.30pm BST. Any Swansea fans reading, you have a friendly away to Haaglandia at 3pm BST.

  11. Re: Official Bundesliga Discussion Thread

I always fear for it when you post in the Bundesliga threads.

They have played 3 friendlies already.

    Don't worry' date=' you'll get one right eventually ;):P[/quote']

I forgot to add their pre season cup games, so yes, 3 in total.

Mind you, I'd hardly class a pre season game V a fanclub 11 as a "friendly". And they probably let that goal in on purpose to make their day memorable. Likewise the Paualner X1 game, who are the clubs main beer supplier. Just a kick about against their heroes and a "thanks for the support" gesture.

TSV Regen are an official club in the German East District league, so I'd count that as their first "official" friendly, even though there was a massive difference in class, with Regen being amateurs. Bresica being in Serie B is their first serious test imo.

  12. Re: Games of the Day

    Games I'd reccommend- Tuesday 9th July 2013:

    Some good friendlies today include:

Sturm Graz V PSG- 5pm BST

St Ettiene V Wolfsburg- 5pm BST

Bayern Munich V Bresica- 5.30pm BST- probably game of the day

Greuther Furth V Celtic- 6pm BST

The best competitive matches today will be the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers.

Champions League qualifiers- 1st round 2nd legs:

    EB / Streymur V Lusitanos- 7pm BST (2-2)

    Tre Penne V Shirak- 8pm BST (0-3)

Europa League qualifiers- 1st round 2nd legs:

    Mika V Rudar- 2.30pm BST (0-1)

    TPS V Jeunesse d'Esch- 5pm BST (0-2)

    Differdange V Laçi- 6.30pm BST (1-0)

  13. Re: Official Bundesliga Discussion Thread

lol? They already played a few friendly games pal?

Believe it or not mate, the 2nd division Bundesliga 2 starts a week on Friday (can't wait), and the Regionaliga (4th division) this Friday in certain locations (as it is split up into regions) so lots of German teams are playing friendlies.

Dortmund played today for instance and won 3-0.

I'll keep you posted on games via a thread I started (see my sig). Get it spreading, lol!
