  1. Re: Click To Save Lives

Hey people, I'm back at this forum after god knows how long, and that too mainly to see how this thread was doing...I'm glad to see it's still in many people's sigs...hope you guys are clicking daily and doing your bit to help!

@Hunty: Well, your question was addressed in the "Common Questions" section of the website itself...I've quoted the answer below for your convenience.

You can click once a day, every day of the year on The Hunger Site and on each of our other Click to Give™ sites. Our agreement with our sponsors allows us to count one click, per person, per calendar day. A monitoring system is set up to check this. While you could click on the button ten or a hundred or a thousand times, we will only count one click from you. In the meantime, our system could be slowed down, possibly overloaded, preventing other visitors' clicks from generating funding. Please note that we count clicks received through company firewalls, proxy servers, etc., to the best of our ability. We count every click as fairly and accurately as possible.

Just look up this site's Wikipedia entry if you guys want to be sure of it's authenticity!

  2. Okay, the Liverpool manager has offered me Luka Modric (23 yo; rated 91) in exchange for Seydou Keita (28 yo; rated 92) + Wes Brown (28 yo; rated 90) + 5 M.

So, do you guys think its a good deal? I personally think so since Modric is a player with huge ability with the potential of increasing in rating, while Keita and Brown couldn't really go higher than their current ratings imo. What's your opinion?

Remember, any help on this deal will be rewarded for in rep. ;)

  3. lol, seems like I'm addicted to troubling you guys - this is the third thread I've opened in this section in like ten days!

Anyways, the question is pretty straight-forward. Which defender do I buy? Brown is 28 yo; rated 90 while Metzelder is 27 yo; rated 90.

Will Brown be able to displace club captain Gary Neville and play regularly for Man U next season to keep his rating? I have my doubts about it.

On the other hand, here's what my friend Addy, a Real Madrid fan, has to say about Metzelder:

    Metzelder...?

well, only an injury free season could stop him from becoming another Woodgate.

I THINK, this could be his last season at Madrid ( depending on his performances) considering Garay will be at the Bernabau come next season !

So who do you guys think I should go for? As usual, rep for those who help me out with this one! ;)

  4. Re: Seydou Keita

Thanks for the brilliant comment Mr. Adamski, you have been repped. ;) I'll go ahead with the deal now, as I'm getting a player of potentially the same rating come the English changes who is no less than five years younger than Keita. That's a pretty good deal IMO. :D

  5. Re: Seydou Keita

Hey, just popping this thread up since I have a question regarding Keita. I manage Sevilla and have Keita in my squad. Would it be a wise decision to use Keita (28 yo; rated 92) + 10-15 M to buy Luka Modric (22, but soon to be 23 yo; rated 91)? I'd really appreciate a response, and all helpers will be rewarded with rep. ;)

  6. Re: 30 M + Giovani Dos Santos + Stevan Jovetic for Bojan?

You will regret it in 3 years when you have two 92's that won't rise much more' date=' and you see Bojan with a 95, on course for a 97. :D[/quote']

That just sums up my reckoning on the issue. I've always felt that Dos Santos and Jovetic are soild, 90+ players - but nothing more than that. While Bojan - he's got tremendous potential and to me he looks like the new Lionel Messi. I mean a guy rated 89 at the tender age of 17 says it all, doesn't it?

Plus, the cash would get me nowhere since all the good players (established and young) have already been taken, so it's basically a player exchange deal which, according to Smartdoc, wouldn't go through anyway :P

So after much deliberation I've decided not to go ahead with the deal. Thanx to all you guys for your help, it's been greatly appreciated. :)

  7. Re: 30 M + Giovani Dos Santos + Stevan Jovetic for Bojan?

Although Bojan arguably has more potential and has done more so far in his young career than the other two' date=' I can't help but think this is not a good deal. The other side of the deal is getting two youngsters, who easily could end up having a better career than Bojan even if doesn't look that way currently. On top of that 30 million could buy an established star. No deal is my opinion if you're getting Bojan :o

I fear all discussion will be academic anyway as there is no way this deal will pass the chairman stage :([/quote']

Well, that problem can be overcome by doing the deals separately, i.e. he buys Bojan for 30 M (or whatever) + Dos Santos and then I buy Jovetic with the cash.

I'm the one who's selling Bojan so should I do the deal?

  8. Re: Niklas BARKROTH

Well, I just did some research and according to the Guardian website, Barkroth hasn't even made an appearance in the Swedish league this season with 15 games played! That's a shame really, but hopefully he'll get more chances to impress after this performance.

  9. Re: Niklas BARKROTH

I find myself eating my words.

He finally got a game in today' date=' a CL qualifier against Murata. They won 4-0.

The 15 year old scored twice...:o[/quote']

Wow mate, thanx for the update. Sounds like he's really progressing as a player, to score twice in an European match is no mean feat. I wonder if anyone knows how regularly he's playing in the Swedish league?

  10. Re: Questions on Gold Memebership

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the heads up guys. After reading your comments, I feel like a custom setup would suit my purposes better as I want to be selective about the managers that join my setup. But tell me something: do I still have ultimate power over the setup once my 12 months are up? Also, what are some of the added advantages of being a gold member that aren't mentioned in the Gold Membership section of the site?

  11. Hi guys,

I'm thinking about purchasing a gold membership within August, but I have a few questions in mind that I'd like answered here. First of all, what's the difference between the 14.99 pounds package and the 19.99 pounds package? Which one would you suggest I get? And what are some of the added advantages of being a gold member that aren't mentioned in the Gold Membership section of the site? I'd be extremely glad if someone could kindly provide answers to these questions and would rep him/her. :)

    Cheers,

    Fardeen

  12. Hey guys, I manage Sevilla in the Sports Board Setup and currently have a number of offers for Dani Alves:-

Arsenal are offering Carlos Vela + Abou Diaby + David Pizarro + Bakari Sagna + Daniel Jarque.

Liverpool are offering Luka Modric + John Arne Riise + Albert Riera

Barcelona are offering 75 M + Gianluca Zambrotta + Stevan Jovetic (But cash doesn't have much value in my setup since all the good players have already been bought, plus I've got in excess of 70 M to spend)

Real Madrid are offering Julio Baptista + Goran Pandev + Wes Brown/Christoph Metzelder + Milhomem Guilherme.

So tell me, which offer should I accept? Should I consider selling Alves at all seeing as he's moved to Barcelona and has the potential to reach 95/96 or even 97? Please let me know your thoughts ASAP.

I posted this in the "Help With Deals" thread but didn't receive a satisfactory reply, so I decided to open a new thread. Hope I'm not disappointed this time around.

  14. Re: need a good manager

I'd be interested to take over. My managerial track record is pretty good: I've won league titles, cups and promotions with various teams over the course of my SM career. I'd stick with the team and do my best to improve it and take it to another level. Let me know your thoughts soon.

  15. Re: Daniel Alves: should I sell him?

Come on guys, I still need some help regarding the deal. Arsenal are offering 10 M+ Andres Guardado (21 yo; rated 91) and Bakari Sagna for Alves, while Milan are offering cash + Marek Jankulovski+ Alexandre Pato. Which deal should I accept? Should I even consider selling Alves? Remember, rep for you if you help me out. ;)

  16. Hi guys, I need your thoughts on a couple of offers I received for Daniel Alves. Milan have offered cash+ Marek Jankulovski+ Alexandre Pato for him, while Arsenal have offered 10 M+ Tomas Rosicky+ Bakari Sagna. I also have the chance to use Alves in a deal to buy Sergio Aguero. Which deal should I go for? Remember, rep for you if I like your suggestion. ;)

I'll post my squad and the offering clubs' squads so that you guys can give me tips on which player to ask for. I always play a 3-4-1-2 formation, so please keep that in mind. Here are the squads:
