  1. Re: The Intercourse, General Banter Thread. I've always been a firm believer of the adage 'Form is temporary, class is permanent' and it's clear it's being borne out in this gameworld right now
  2. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread All the best for the future Stuart. Your presence on the forum will be sorely missed and I wish you the very best in all your future endeavours in life
  3. Re: The One 2010 Match Report/Transfer Gossip And Anything Thread Delighted to somehow stay up . Think I underestimated the task I was giving myself by taking Leeds . My rating changes can't come soon enough.
  4. Re: Official Cricket Thread To be honest with both of you, deep down I was hoping he didn't get it . Whilst he's a terrific entertainer and on his day as good as anyone, he doesn't really deserve to be in classed in the ranks of Bradman, Tendulkar, Miandad, Ponting, Lara etc.
  5. Re: Official Cricket Thread Chris Gayle is currently 331 n.o against Sri Lanka . An innings which has included 9 sixes and 34 fours. Hope I haven't put the commentators curse on him, but could he break Brian Lara's record for the highest individual score.
  6. Re: England Squad Announced The only thing I can conclude having read some of the names coming up on this thread is how fearful I am for England's international standing (already tarnished in many ways I know). It's scary how many unbelievably poor players (in international terms) have been mentioned on the last few pages. I'm afraid quality and depth is desperately lacking if these are the best names we can put forward
  7. Re: The One 2010 Match Report/Transfer Gossip And Anything Thread Well done mate . My run of bad results has now extended to one win in the last 11 games Looking at all the other starting XIs in the league, I'm amazed I'm still have a chance to stay up. Need my good mate Tom to do me a favour
  8. Re: Competitive Bidding process Contrary to your belief, this is a punishable offence and SM have removed managers from their team if they are doing this and certainly if they are repeatedly doing this. SM apply the 'ruining the experience of other's' ruling to this offense and I assure you action would be taken against your account if you were seen repeatedly to be doing this. I'd also add that if managers are withdrawing their accpeted bids, even if they have not made the winning bid, they are foolhardy to do so. With the current system all managers should make their best bid and should
  9. Re: Impossible Red Card? The one that always springs to my mind whenever I read one of these sorts of match reports : QBrFlDpQudY You see, it is possible
  10. Re: G Johnson = arbeloa + downing + 4? I would be happy with getting just Arbeloa for Glen Johnson, so on that basis I would certainly do the deal. SM-wise Johnson is going nowhere in a hurry and it's not beyond the realms of possibility him getting a drop. Arbeloa has got less game time under Mourinho, but I feel a drop in his rating from SM would be harsh when you consider the defenders he is up against for a place in the side as compared to Johnson. PS This is coming from a Liverpool fan
  11. Re: Why are SM adding anyone? Personally I applaud the concept of adding all players at a minimum 75 rating (although I don't know if this is universal as there are so many 70 rated players around). If anything, it will at least make those managers who go out and buy every newly added player on the database at least pause to think a little bit. Adding players at a rating of 70 meant players could only realistically go up in rating. At 75, in theory, such players can go down in rating and people may not be so quick to sweep up such players. People will be less willing to apply the mine-sweepin

  13. Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews SM Dev (Ste) is along with SM Dev (John), the devlopment team's voice on the forum. One of the people behind this great game and someone who always peruses numerous threads on the forum. Here's a little bit about him: So, a very much down-to-earth person who is not afraid to admit that he is an all-round football follower rather than a fanatical supporter. Clearly a family man too Next up will be an interview with the only forumer I am aware of who lives closer to the 2012 Olympic stadium than I do.
  14. Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews najduch5 is perhaps one of our lesser known members of the forum, but is becoming quite a regular poster. Here's his interview: So a happy-go-lucky guy who has quite a mixed range of football interests and is hoping to be earning a six figure salary some time in the future Next up will be someone who you really can't afford to get in the bad books of, if you want a future on the forum or SM.
  15. Re: Official Cricket Thread I have to agree. You don't drop a player when he's just got a '4 for' in any form of the game. It almost looked like the selectors got caught up in the media hype around the losing streak and just brought back the big names to chase that win. Hauritz clearly isn't a one-day bowler anyway and it was harsh for Doherty to be taken out the side to accommodate him. Hope he gets another chance in the last game, because if I were an Aussie, I wouldn't feel to happy with having Hauritz as the main spin option for the upcoming world cup.
  16. Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews Higgy is a Madrid fan who dabbles in several parts ofthe forum. Offers advice on all things football and a staunch defender of his side, here's his interview: So likes lazing around and relaxing with some friends over some Shisha. Also very positive about Madrid's future long-term Next will be the only forumer I'm aware of with the Morroccan flag as his avatar. Find out why in his interview.
  17. Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread I don't think you will find anyone who could defend his tactics in this match, Johnny to be honest. It's clear the game plan was pretty poor and played into Spurs hands somewhat. Also not reacting to the ever-imposing threat of Bale during the game was most un-Rafa like. Perhaps he felt that arguably the best RB in the world should have been able to cope with a young up-and-coming star, but clearly he didn't and it highlighted a failing in Rafa to react in this case. You also mentioned the fact that this is the reigning champions we're talking abo
  18. Re: Fantasy Premier League!!JOIN!! This is a link to his profile: http://forum.soccermanager.com/member.php?u=1823 Surprised you haven't come accross him as he is quite a consistent poster. He generally posts on the general football section and currently has a thread going in which he is providing links to articles he is writing for a football website Good luck, Darshan, the whole forum is rooting for you
  19. Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews ★Rуααη★ is a lifelong Man United fan who you can usually find posting in a lot of the fun parts of the forum. Here's his interview: So likes to live life on the edge and also likes to have a joke and a laugh most of the time. would love it if we all believed everyting he said even if he was being selective with the truth Next up will be a Real Madrid fan who likes to pay homage to Gonzalo Higuain in his own way on the forum.
