snike got a reaction from leigh1 in German Ratings List
    Hi everyone,
don't worry, this is not a duplicate thread.
Over the past weeks, many postings have been made in the German Changes thread and some other additional threads have been created. I'm happy to see there is so much discussion on my favorite league. However, one thing I have noticed (and others have mentioned) is that it's getting hard people to keep track of what has been said without having to read many many pages. People have stepped up and made summary lists and that was good. However, as people post more and more comments/opinions/information, those summary lists will soon again be buried behind many many pages.
So i thought that I would make a thread which will consist of just two entires: the one you are reading now, and the following summary lists of suggested rating changes. I will continuously edit the list to keep it up to date. You can send me your opinions via PM and I will add them to the list. If there are is disagreement about the exact rating, I will put a range. I will also continue to read the other threads (and i hope you continue to post there) and try to take info from there.
If you are not comfortable with me being the only one that edits the list, we can change the set-up. We can make a rule whereby people post by copying the existing information and then adding their suggestions.
I'll fill in the list in the next few days. Please give me some time to do this.
Maybe you can make some posts now and tell me if this is a good or bad idea. If no one likes it, we can delete the thread. If you do like it, then we can remove your posts later on and have a nice concise summary.
PS: I don't care about rep or attention. That's not why I'm doing this. I just want a better way to present the information that we have all gathered. Please no one complain about how you are not getting enough rep, attention, or whatever else it is that you crave. The forum for me is about helping each other be better managers, not to gain some kind of status.

I got it from Kicker and also from watching some of the games myself. Here is a link to the Kicker information:
    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/vereinstermine/object/9/saison/2007-08/naviindex/2
For each of the games this season, you can click on "Analyse", which is basically a summary of the game. If you open up one of them, look on the right side for "Aufstellungen". That is the line-up. They list it according to the actual formation, a "-" separates" the major areas of the field. If you look through the games, you'll see that he was playing midfield (mostly DM) in most of the games.
Those games where he is listed midfield, you can also see that 4 other defenders were playing.
Though you are right, many sites (even kicker) list him as a defender.

    Re: German Changes
Here are some Bundesliga players that might deserve rating changes. I’ve put a short description for each of them, can offer more detailed info upon request. I’ve focused on player/teams that I’m familiar with. For sure, there are many more out there so please add any others. For instance, the Karlsruhe team should probably be looked at because they are doing fairly well, but I don’t really track their players.
    Werder Bremen:
Tosic, 87: Starter for Bremen, has played in the last 4 European Qualifiers for Serbia. 88
Almeida, 87: has been called upon to help replace Klose. Doing fairly well and starting to get national team appearances too. 88/89
    Sanogo, 88: Same as Almeida.
Harnik, 81: Keep an eye out for him, he’s touted to be a big talent. Gets mostly sub appearances in Bremen but has now broken into the Austrian national team. 85
Hunt, 88: Kid seems to have some serious, career-threatening knee problems. Might consider selling him.
Borowski, 92: Has not played much the last year. 91, can rise again if he plays consistently.
    Schalke:
Ozil, 83: Regular sub, playing very well with Germany U21. More to come for this kid in the future, I hope. 85
Rakitic, 85: Playing fairly well, has a starting spot. He’s also been added to the Croatian Team and played some games. 88/89. More to come in the future
Jones, 82: Strong season, was actually captain at Frankfurt (which should have gotten him mid 80s for that alone) before spending almost a year out with an injury. Not the most skilled, but always gives 100% effort. German coach has mentioned that he might get a call up soon. 88
Pander, 86: Also came back from a long injury. Playing well as first choice back, has played for national team, as England fans should know. Has been injured in recent weeks. 88/89
    Wolfsburg:
Simunek, 81: Has started since he came to Wolfsburg. Used to be U21 for Czech, now called up for full national team, hasn’t played though. 86, more to come in the future.
Dejagah, 86: Germany U21, played for Berlin before coming to Wolfsburg. 87
Marcelinho, 91: Not as good as he used to be. 90
Josue, 91: Has looked average as best. I don’t know how well he was playing in Brazil, but if his performances don’t get better, he’ll decrease in the future.
Schafer, 84: Started every game so far. 86
    Hertha Berlin:
    Ebert, 86: Germany U21. Been a starter for a while now. 87
Andres Lima, 80: Was doing well in Brasil, has gotten several appearances for Berlin. 85, more if he keeps playing.
Okoronkwo, 80: Has gotten several sub appearances with several goals, spend last season in 2nd Bundesliga. 85, more if he keeps playing
    Hamburg:
    J. Boateng, 83: Has played well since arriving from Berlin. Now Germany U21. 86, more to come in the future.
Guerrero, 87: Has been starting, displacing Zidan (90). International for Peru. 88/89
Choupo-Moting, 74: Has gotten several small appearances, youth international. Keep an eye out for him. 80
Zidan, 90: Hasn’t hit the form that he had a Mainz in spring. Might eventually drop if he doesn’t break through.
    Bayern:
Lell, 85: Has made many starts this season. Will probably be bench once Lahm comes back, but should be first choice sub for the outside back positions. 86/87
Altintop, 89: Has had a strong season in a midfield full of 92s. International for Turkey. 90/91
Demichelis (91), Van Buyten (92): I think their rating should be switched. Demichelis has taken the starting spot alongside Lucio, and he is also playing for Argentina again.
Kroos, 73: Has gotten his first taste of the Bundesliga. Probably deserves a small rise. One to watch for the future.
    Leverkusen:
Barnetta, 88: Started for a while now, very dynamic player. A key player for Switzerland and has scored important goals for them. 89/90
    Haggui, 86: Starting CB, 87/88.
Vidal, 87: His rating is ok for the time being, just keep a look out for this talent. He’s starting to settle and also play for Chile. If he holds on to a starting role, he should rise in the future.
Adler, 87: Still playing strong in goal. 88/89
Gekas, 91: Not hitting the form he had last year. Still plays for Greece, however he might go down eventually. If he scores, it’s been mostly tap-ins and he doesn’t mix well with the rest of the team.
Barbarez, 90: Still a good player, getting less time though and has also retired from international football. 89
Sarpai, 85: Played 8 games this season, almost 150 1st Bundesliga games in career. 86/87
    Stuttgart:
They better get their act together of they’ll be decreasing by the end of the season.
    Hannover:
Sergio Pinto, 84: Played whole last season at Aaachen, played about half games for Hannover this season. 85/86
    2nd Bundesliga Players:
L.Bender, 79: Starting for 1860, playing well. Big talent. Low 80s
Gebhart (74): Getting sub appearances, youth international. Watch for the future. Mid to high 70’s.
    F. Johnson, 80: another talent for 1860. Youth international. Rating is ok, but watch out for him.
Marin, 77: Big time talent, playing regularly. 80
Hennings, 78: Rating maybe +1/2 but watch out for him. Scores a lot for Germany U21.
Again, fell free to add. If i made a mistake, then sorry. Just trying to help and share information.

Just trying to help and share information.

snike got a reaction from Stevie Blade in some germans
some german talents and underrated players. it'd be better to post this in a few weeks after some league games have been played, but I'll let you decide if they're worth it.
Andreas Ottl: 21, DM, rated 80
Plays for Bayern Muenchen. Made 8 appearances late last season. Played the whole game of the season opener alongside Owen Hargreaves last week. (http://www.kicker.de/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/353624/)
If his form stays the same, he'll likely be seeing consistant playing time.
    Regular on U21 national team
    Jermaine Jones: 24, rated 82
Currently injured, but otherwise is the captain of 1st Division side Eintracht Frankfurt. Regular on U21 national team. 32 Bundesliga appearances last season. 53 2nd Bundesliga appearances.
    Philipp Tschauner: 20, G, rated 70
Currently back-up keeper for 2nd Bundesliga Club 1860 Muenchen. Regular on U21 national team
Mustafa KUCUKOVIC, 19, CF, rated 78
Highly rated talent from Hamburger SV. Currently on loan to 2nd Bundesliga side Greuther Fuerth
i'll keep you updated on what happens as the season progresses

snike got a reaction from fraser mcinnes in Serdar TASCI and Sami KHEDIRA only increase by 1 point
Re: Serdar TASCI and Sami KHEDIRA only increase by 1 point
VFB Stuttgart is my favorite team and I'm happy that we have great young players like Tasci and Kehdira. However, I cannot agree with your opinion on the ratings with respect to Jansen.
True, Tasci and Khedira helped Stuttgart win the title and last weekend played very well again. However, they have each had less than 30 league games and no appearances on the national team. Compare that to Jansen, who's had over 80 appearances and 16 games with the national team, and now seems to be the first choice left back. Also, even though his team got relegated, he played like a hero (when not injured) and his rating increase is not really dictated by the fact that he went to Bayern. If that were the case, Hamit Altintop and Schlaudraf would also have gotten increases.
You have to consider that Tasci and Khedira came from nowhere to playing on a championship team over a span of less than one year. So their rating is still being adjusted as they continue their development. If they play like they've been playing, then the next time the ratings are adjusted, they will surely get another increase, whereas Jansen might be topping out soon.

snike got a reaction from FC Basel in Landon DONOVAN
    Re: Landon DONOVAN
Donovan won't rise in ratings unless he leaves the US and joins a bigger league.
I believe he has the talent to do that and succeed there. However, it will never happen because he is one of the mentally weakest players that I've ever seen. He doesn't know how to struggle for a starting spot or to improve. That is why he is in the MLS, because he knows that there he is among the best and everybody kisses his behind. Leverkusen would have liked him to stay with them, but he actually begged them to let him return to the United States. Initially, I though that after a year or two in the MLS he would work up the guts to go to Europe again, but he didn't. He would rather be the undisputed king of the playground that to have to fight for recognition with the adults.
He's the biggest waste of talent that I've ever seen. He had a great World Cup 2002, but since then he's been stagnant at best.
I'm happy that the newer generation of American players, Bradly, Feilhaber, Zizzo, Dempsey, etc., actually have some balls and realize that they have to struggle to succeed.
