Numerous articles have been written on this topic and the majority have come to the conclusion that there is a differentiation between the two. I agree with the majority. Now, whether Alonso is better than Xavi or Pirlo is a discussion for another day..

On a slightly related topic, does anyone know what happens if a transfer is accepted by an unmanaged club, but then after that, the value of the player increases slightly due to the sale of another player in that team? So does the transfer go through or fall through?
