antondrobnjak got a reaction from BrodiePT in Rahul W's rating predictions
I would never say Lloris is better than Oblak and/or De Gea. I say that Mandanda (Olympique career) with his potential is strongest than Lloris and "why not" De Gea/Oblak.
But I specially know that SM bases up the player's ratings on club's performances and player's performances. So that shows that all of them have a similar trophies collection. The only difference is: max Mandanda's rating 91; max Lloris's rating 92; max De Gea's rating 95!
Mandanda with steady performances has won a national championship and went at 2nd place 4 times. Lloris had steady performances like Steve and he never has won a title till now and went at 2nd place only 2 times. De Gea has had good and very bad seasons and he has won one title and went as 2nd 2 times. Oblak?... Let me laugh

Neuer deserves 94 atleast. How did he ever drop from 96 so rapidly ?
Muller in the same boat . How is he 92 lol
Lewandowski 97 . No excuses from SM now . He has won his first UCL .
How is Neymar 96 ? Just falls over everytime and doesn't really add much. 95 max .

It's unbelieveable they drop both BVB Sokratis and Piszczek! This game is going worse and worse and worse. Look at how many they are signing out...
The story doesn't change.
Forwards rise. Defenders and midfielders never get forwards ratings. Changing abuse of M(C)AM(RLC) instead of DM,M,AM(C) players (Dele Alli and so many like him). Quick rises for young players (Sule). Neverdrop players till few days ago. Players drop very soon after they rose unpredictable (Roman Burki). I've enough.

I'm very happy to talk about tactics by long time.
You should generally use defensive when your squad has a lower avg rating than your counter.
I'd go with this setup:
Tackling - Hard (if your opponent has less than 2 avg rating ptst han you); Aggressive (if your opponent has 2 or more avg rating pts than you)
Passing - Long ball (or mixed if your opponent has less than 2 avg rating pts than you and you have different rated players as defenders and middies)
Tempo - Fast
Mentality - Defensive
Attacking - Down both flanks
Pressing - Own Half (if your opponent has less than 2 avg rating ptst han you); Own area (if your opponent has 2 or more avg rating pts than you)

Has anyone else noticed that the current player 'skill' level 'up or down' system is not working? Or, and I would agree with this, the level of talent in World Football is in serious decline.
Well, when Soccermanager started the following (arbitrary) rules could be applied:-
95 - 99 World class star
93 - 95 Top international
91 - 92 Top club player, international
89 - 90 Good player, usually on their way down, or emerged as top young talent
87 - 88 Player on the cusp of making it, or veteran on the way down.
82 - 86 Good club player at a lesser club
80 - 82 Lower division player, but at a challenging club
75 - 79 Lower league player, or youth talent just breaking through into the first team.
When I first joined the list of the very top players (93 - 99) was modest, but roughly one or two pages of the transfer sections for all outfield positions (D, M, F). But then the next category (91-29) went on for three or four pages or more.
Now, we have a handful of really top class players, and even those in the 91-92 category in many positions has shrunk to one page!
So what are we saying? That in seven years (while I've been here) we've seen a terminal decline in international talent? Or is it more that the system is open abuse? Scores to settle between rival fans used to cut each others players ratings, embittered fans who's side are supposed to be 'top dogs' but won either a cup or nothing at all and are punishing their 'stars' on here, fans who know nothing about the player but listen to the brain dead pundits and vote on that basis?
Every single time the player changes come through maybe one or two (in the World!) players ratings go up, while loads go down. It's a daft way of doing things...

Incredible rise for Palermo's Franco Vazquez. I think reviews are from "EmmeZeta" discounts. Unbelieveable. No reason to rise him. Just ManU rumors. This is not football, this is not a soccer game, no more. This is pure rubbish.

3-5-2 is an offensive formation: yes, it could be. So I want to report Juventus FC example:
the two wide players his manager sends on the pitch for this formation are all fullbacks not wingers: Lichtsteiner D,DM,M(R ); Evra D,DM(L); Alex Sandro D,DM,M(L); Asamoah D(L),DM,M(LC); Cuadrado D,DM,M(R ),OM(RLC); Padoin D(RL),DM,M(RLC). So....
antondrobnjak reacted to Rahul W in The risers' thread
So Zouma should get a rise for Chelsea's shocking display all season?
Sterling rising to 91 would not happen so soon, he will eventually get the rise but it's too soon imo, he doesn't have stats that warrant a rise mid-season. As is Kane, who has picked up form in the last few months while he had struggled in the initial part of the season. He got his 90 quick enough, that's a fair reflection of his current level given his age.
Like Lukaku. While he is in great form now, don't think he was last season. He may get a 91, but not now given his team' position and level.
Coq should have gotten a rise imo, even with his injury. Clearly the best DM Arsenal have, and definitely a 90.
Like Bellerin, who should have gone up to 89 but then again he's gotten a quick rise so I'm sure he will be a 90 soon/
Barkley similar argument to Lukaku, he's inconsistent too which rules against him getting a 90.
