Re: "A particular club wanted" thread
Guys, give the thread a chance at least. I agree that members using this thread to request Real madrid's or Barcelonas will probably be wasting their time, but other slightly lower ranked teams like Lyon, Porto and others (hope I haven't offended any Lyon or Porto fans ) are not always taken.
Who would've known the 'team swap' thread or the 'new homes for teams' threads would have taken off so well when they were created. Bear in mind that these two threads are now effectively obsolete as jobs are offered always to managers within the set-up in the first instance now, perhaps this sort of thread is the way forward. I agree it may not work, but then again it might. Custom set-up owners might also be able to create set-ups around members requests on this thread in the knowledge that the member has requested the team and so might stick by it and be committed as opposed to leaving after a few games.
Let's give it a chance and see how it goes. If it flops so-be-it, but give it a chance

    VS.2---2

Colin Annett's Tottenham Hotspur and Sam Wainwright's Internazionale faced each other in the opening fixture of the league last night which led to some booboo's and scratches that needed a Dinosaur plaster.
    First Half:
Blaise Matuidi fails to follow up on the rebound and misses the shot completely just minutes into the game.
But Inter weren't about to back down as Colin "Coca Cola Kid" Kazim Richards races towards the goal, but shoots over.
Yet another attack had Spurs flustered minutes later as Emmanuel Cerda blasts the ball towards the goal, but somehow it just goes wide.
Finally Spurs got off the starting blocks when Hernán Fredes places a right foot shot wide from twenty yards out.
At this point in the game an unlikely strike from Gabriel Agbonlahor is smashed with venom into the roof of the net!

    Ag some of that...Agbonlahor's strike

Spurs were piling on the pressure as dos Santos Giovani beats the offside trap but a poor shot lets him down!
Not long after Soares Welliton finds himself in space but blasts wide.
Minutes later, A spectacular overhead kick by Blaise Matuidi flies wide of the mark
Inter were really trying when Omar Arellano is put through into the six yard box, but the linesman raises his flag
But from the restart a mistake by the defender as he passes straight to Matuidi and n inch perfect cross from the wing is met by the towering Emmanuel Cerda, who nods home!

    It's Cerda...Cerda Heads Home

An ambitious 30 yard drive from dos Santos GIOVANI shoots over the bar as spurs look to retake the lead.
Patricio Araujo gets the blind side of the defender but is forced to hurry his shot.
Spurs were getting confident again when Tom Huddlestone receives the ball on his left and smashes a dipping 25-yarder against the bar.
An excellent first touch by new boy Kevin Mirallis, as he turns skillfully, but rifles his shot wide.
    Second Half:
Inter started well as Blaise Matuidi finds himself in time and space but nothing is made of it.
Then, Rechel Sidnei has a free header which goes wide of the post
Controversy came as the referee is left with no option Colin Kazim Richards has to go after bringing down the striker whilst being the last man.
From the free kic, dos Santos Giovani hits a powerful shot in off the post!

    Santos Claus...Giovani grabs goal

Emmanuel Cerda carves through the defence with some quick give-and-go passes as he crosses the ball and Blaise Matuidi dives in at the near post only to be denied by the woodwork.
Tottenham almost struck again as Patricio Araujo is clean through on goal with only the keeper to beat, but hits the outside of the post.
Then out of nowhere a spectacular long range shot by Rechel Sidnei flies into the top corner!

Rechel Heck!... Sidnei turns and strikes

So sorry for not posting regularly on this but I have still continued with this as I'm not a quitter. Dynamo Dresden now have a 31 man squad, thanks to 19 signings and 3 players loaned in. I have spent about 35/40 million in all, but now have a 60 mil squad, and first team average rating of 85.
Dresden are now 3rd in the league and pushing very hard for promotion. My aim by the end of the season is to have a 87/88 rated squad, ready for the Division 1 next season. Only problem now is the size of the stadium.
Will give a full Mid season report and end of season report over the next few months.
Glad that I'm proving anything is possible. Even taking over a 9-man squad with a quite small bank balance, in a 'dead' setup.

    Re: State of the Forum?
With the ammount of members that want to become Mods ,chat mods etc i didnt think it would be long before we need moderators come into the equation .
When you address a problem you dont just decide to throw more chiefs at it ,its that bad with spamming etc ,spits and spats that my PM system has been full of complaints against these members and to sort it out. (dont think so )
In fact i bet i can count these complaints on one hand in over a year and half .
Only PM i mainly get complaining is they itself have been banned lost rep for no reasons ,most others change my sig etc ,change my thread name etc .
Get the odd e-mail reporting thread and actually the odd one i need to act on which i do ,most nothing wrong just not the complainers cup of tea in his eyes.
Also nothing wrong with that and complaining because any that do i also reply on how i saw it and what ive done about it and if not happy with my decision to take it further to SM .
Any i deemed the complatant right i found it just needs a nice PM to them to put them in line not instant bans etc ,yes the odd one will not be happy with this so kicks off and gets banned.
When first came on Forum there was a small core of Forumers it was like one big happy family ,but even we had some good rants and barneys it wasnt all kiss and cuddles ,but its like anything that multiplies and mutiplies you are not and never going to have what you had with the small core .
Forum is changing with the growth and sign of the times ,take first year or so of forum because SM as a whole wasnt big ,most of us all played in same set ups the best being EC1 and to me EC3 ,you only have to look at EC3 thread what Leamington started to see the massive comradre between forum members ,now because of the growth theres that many match report/transfer set ups especially with custom and most jumping in and out and leaving at a drop of the hat that not many will ever live up to these threads ,so because of this some will think forum not good any more .
Used to be some brilliant debates under suggestions but for a long time now especially more since ticket system these are nearly none exsistent ,again sign of times your not going to change it ,in fact if there is a thread theres usually the same few that debates on it ,reason is the Forum has changed for what the bulk come on for ,most dont come on for debates its like the old days of the annoying rate my team etc now its whats the best tactics /formations etc,i won my first 3 games but just lost one what am i doing wrong .
Again not the most enjoyable and entertaining but nothing wrong ,like i said the bulk like these and giving there expertise on the subject .
But again for them that dont like them Forum going down .
Also with the Westgate board what most dont see for the forumers in the test set up ,we do more debating under here between us than in front of the full forum members so again that takes away a lot of debates what all forumers would normally have got engaged in if they want, now its a select few .
I always get amused with some of complaints about spamming ,because this can be a very contencious area on what constitutes spam ,we all can see it in different ways so i suppose when members complain we dont do our job on cutting down spam ,i suggest they send me a PM on what they deem spam and hopefully i see it there way but if not then they will have to live with it or complain to SM .
I go on plenty of forums and with the massive difference in ages on this than many others to me its expected .
Ive seen members get told in threads to stop spamming and quite rightly some will get upset because they dont realise they are ,some there just doing a short reply in a friendly manner not thinking im spamming ,done it plenty of times myself and had the odd Admin shouldnt spam .
Well in the old days when it was rife because of thread counts and it got under everyones skin i could understand it ,now its yes the counts gone but you do so many posts and you get a rating rise so thats why there spamming now .
Like i said if some annoy so much tell a Admin we decide not up to you to tell them which can also start a third world war if they dont agree .
Same with search some members say they get fed up of seeing same threads when some already ,yet again i never get PM complaining to me links to the thread etc just them giving a quick rude retort to the one who did it ,this also annoys both parties ,so then you have two differnt views on why Forum going downhill ,
One because to many threads on same subject the other because certain members dont know when to quit griping about starting a new thread .
So to both sides dont like Forum going downhill.
Will tell you now the search is not the be and end of all the way it is now ,some threads when i see someone being ticked of for starting one i bet they didnt put a search like i do to see how easy some are to find because it can be hell .
So again complain to admin its another one i dont get any complaints about ,ive had a couple in over a year ,one i let go would have spent at least 30 minutes trying to find what he was looking for ,the other was easy so he got a polite PM told him i would be watching all new threads from him and if found they was as easy as his last one to use search then he would be dealt with ,got a sorry and he did search then onwards, but again its up to members to let us know and we will deem the right and wrong not for you to tell them ,which most will ignore you and deem its not your buisness.
To sum up to me its not gone down hill but its changed from how it was so as members we need to think of new ideas to change the course we want the way for it to go ,you have to take into account because of the anormity of members now the close nitness with the majority has gone ,you have it still but its in there own groups not all as in the old days ,loyalties are divided now and thats down to the growth of the forum ,most older members get annoyed because they deem they dont get the respect they deserve but thats because a far bigger percentage dont believe that gives you cartel on what say goes on forum and the right to berate new members .
I agree like i said and not lying ,if your not happy for any reason you PM admin and as soon as we can we will look into it and take what ever action we think warrents it ,to many take it on theirselves to open their mouths and speak and tell members what to do when its not their place .
So i hold my hands up and plead guilty to this ive just allowed it to go on ,instead i should have warned these to butt out and leave it to us .
Fault with the Forum and again members on both sides will deem why its going down the pan to big of an age mixture now which you wont change unless you change the age format to begin with ,your trying to please adults and kids at the same time ,members that want a bit of buzz in the place and a rant ,members that want peace and quite and all things in order to their liking .
What this thread has proved to me which Leigh closed is with the ammount it has grown and the mount of immature on it now ,we mods and SM need to come up with just a new rule on what a reply needs to contain ,for me its not for a member to tell another what to do because thats just flaming a situation ,plus like i said instead of wittering like babies complain to us powers at be personally through the channels it may get you further ,butwith some of these childish antics maybe just a day out in kindergarden while your off the forum .
As for the silly comment no mod on forum someone needs to check my time i spend, again its a clamour to be a mod if dont get it spit your dummy out .

Now my lowdown of WC2 Division 1

    Ajax
    Stadium: Amsterdam Arena
    Manager: Ruud_17*
Top Scorer: David Trezeguet: 69 (25)
With players like David Trezeguet, Allesandro Del Piero, Montolivo and Guti, Ajax are a fairly attacking minded and strong team, a fairly experienced manager means that they have good brains too, I think with the signings they have bought in so far this season, they are strengthening the youth squad as I can only really see Ferreira Jussie and Rodriguez Oscar Seranno getting regular starts for Ajax this season. All in all a good team with a top 10 finish.
    Predicted Position: 9th.

    Athletic Bilbao
    Stadium: San Mamés
    Manager: tebthereb
Top Scorer: Adrian Mutu 73 (2)
Adrian Mutu and Torsten Frings run this outfit like clockwork, But the main tick behind it, is Manager tebthereb, got Bilbao promoted twice in 2 years and came 5th in Division 1 last season, the backbone of the team Steve has saved Bilbao from bottom table Division 3. Good chance for the title this season and will be looking to start off well.
    Predicted Position: 3rd

    Atlético Madrid
    Stadium: Vicente Calderón
    Manager: Dusan Krazic
Top Scorer: Kevin Kuranyi 31 (2)
Madrid have been a mid table team for the past 4 years, I can't see them battling for the title at all this season, Mascherano, Kuranyi and Demichelis have it in them to shine for Madrid but I think the fact that their new manager is unexperienced aswell, I think Madrid may have to fight to stay up.
    Predicted Position: 16th

    Barcelona
    Stadium: Camp Nou
    Manager: Paco Gonzalez
Top Scorer: David Villa 68 (12)
Barcelona are arguably the best team in the world, with players like Kaka, Messi, Fabregas, Lampard and Ribery they have become back to back to back champions in the past 3 years with nobody coming close to them, I can see this season making it back to back to back to back for Barcelona with extremely experienced manager Paco Gonzalez at the helm for the past 7 years, I can see them crowned champions once again.
    Predicted Position: 1st

    Borrusia Dortmund
    Signal Iduna Park
    Manager: Harry Memic
Top Scorer: Frederik Kanoute 48 (11)
Ronaldo, Gerrard and Cannavaro are the Backbone of Dortmund, manager Harry Memic got the German outfit promoted twice in 2 years and are now playing division 1 football. After struggling last season though, some managers doubt their chances this season, I think a top 10 finish is definately possible for this great team, as long as Manager and team commute they could be in with a shout.
    Predicted Position: 5th

    Chelsea
    Stadium: Stamford Bridge
    Manager: Danny Williams
Top Scorer: Robin Van Persie 29 (1)
With Van Der Vaart, Toulalan, Zanetti and Van Persie, Chelsea have a powerful team at the hands of an experienced manager. Chelsea have always been title contenders from the first season onwards and prove to be a difficult team to deal with. Danny Williams has his team the way he wants them now with the signings of Niklas Bendtner and Rafael Van Der Vaart, But we shall see.
    Predicted Position: 4th

    Everton
    Stadium: Goodison Park
    Manager: Sam Wainwright
Top Scorer: da Silva Muniz Liedson 25 (3)
Returning back into Division 1, Everton will want to stay there and in signing Van Nistelrooy, Nani and Liedson, Everton have certainly tried to up their team and make them contenders to stay in Division 1, experienced manager Sam Wainwright will be trying to use it in order to have a chance of avoiding the drop. Mid table to 15th finish for me.
    Predicted Position: 12th

    FC Porto
    Stadium: Estádio do Dragão
    Manager: Matt Phillips
Top Scorer: Diego Forlan 71 (3)
With the likes of Carragher, Forlan and Luis Fabiano in the team and Matt Phillips as the manager, FC Porto are in with a shout this season for me, as strong as Dortmund in most departments I feel that Dortmund and Porto may have to battle it out for the top 4 places. In all fairness I feel that Dortmund possess the slightly stronger chance of that.
    Predicted Position: 6th

    Internazionale
    Stadium: Giuseppe Meazza
    Manager: David Moura
    Top Scorer: Samuel Eto'o 59 (0)
For me, the only other club who can stop Barcelona running away with a 4th sucessive title are David Moura's Internazionale. Players such as Eto'o, Francesco Totti and John Terry possess the ability to help Inter reach the top as they have done for years. New signing Gianluca Zambrotta will be a fantastic addition to their already superb defence, top 2 finish without a doubt.
    Predicted Position: 2nd

    Juventus
    Stadium: Stadia Delle Alpi
    Manager: Jeyla Munye
Top Scorer: Fernando Torres 59 (2)
Juve are a puzzling team. The best and biggest team on paper with the likes of Robinho, Torres and Tevez, but for the past 3 years have under performed since the loss of manager Navdeep Sandhu. Rookie Jeyla Munye has taken over and I hope he does well but I cannot see Juve putting up a challenge this season.
    Predicted Position: 7th

INTER BOSS OFFERS SURREY PATH TO GLORY

Inter Milan boss Sam Wainwright has offered Miles Surrey a way out of Bilbao with an Assistant Coach vacancy at the San Siro. Wainwright said: "To have a great and close friend as your assistant manager is a fantastic idea in my opinion and would greet Miles with open arms if he made one step onto Italian soil."
In other news. The Race for Dimitar Berbatov will end this evening at 6PM GMT, Barcelona are leading the pack with a bid of around £21,500,000 with Werder Bremen not far behind. It's said Johann Elmander and Klass Jan Huntelaar are Inter's targets.
