  1. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Shocking 3-1 home defeat for my Notts County against Charlton. Edged the stats but lacking a bit of firepower at the moment. However, I should be able to welcome back Berbatov who has missed the last 11 games. Next up is crunch game against a back in form Carlisle side
  2. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ After their result against Brighton and Hove Albion, Notts County are now unbeaten in 8 games setting a new club record for most games unbeaten in a row. A 5-0 away victory sees us pick up some points on other teams while we remain in 4th place. Just 5 points between 1st and 4th - looks like being tight at the top. Bad news is Berbatov is out for 5 weeks! Hopefully I have enough cover to compete for promotion in Div 3.
  3. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Coldog earned a draw with Notts County against Shorpe United. Notts County were unlucky not come away with the win after drawing 1 - 1 against Shorpe United in their Division 3 fixture. Ginczek scored the only goal for Notts County and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Not had the best start to Season 2 but this result was particularly disappointing due to me having 60% possession and 14 shots on target to their 1. The other worrying thing is finances have completely plateaued so my current squad is likely to be what I have to work with for the whole season. I do have a lot of young players though so hope to see some rating rises maybe! Also keen to deliver on Lemon's tip of Notts County for promotion
  4. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Unfortunately, the Notts County push for promotion has come to a halt in the play off semi with a 2-1 away defeat to Reading. It was a valiant effort from the boys who won their last 5 games of the regular season to secure 6th spot. Slightly disappointed at the scheduling of the play off because all my players were only in the high 80s conditioning following the last game of the season which was a must win for me! However, they still gave it a good shot, having 12 shots on target in the game and hopefully with the squad I have now assembled, with good end of season form, I can go on to better things next season! Reading really deserve to go up I think having occupied the top places for most of the year, finishing about 9 points higher than me and with a goal difference of about 30 better than me And, I echo some sentiments of the other beaten semi finalist (Carlisle), that I am gutted not to go up but will definitely be sticking around for the longer term challenge. I also totally support letting Infernito back into the setup - obviously after the play off final and only if Southampton lose Well done to Liverpool and anyone from the other divisions who either won the league or gets promoted and a special well done to everyone who will stick with their team for Season 2!!
  5. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Notts County beat Watford 3 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture. Beto had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match. Berbatov, Micael and Arribas were amongst the goalscorers. Beto, my goalkeeper, somehow managed to win MotM despite Watford having no shots on target whatsoever This win puts me within 2 points of the play-off positions and continues a great run of form for my recent signings. All 3 of these goalscorers are post TB signings. Berbatov is MotM 3 out of last 4 games with 3 goals and 2 assists. To the Stoke manager: Thanks for the loan of Boakye but with only league games left for the season, I have enough other options. Seeing as I currently have more money in real life than I do at Notts County, I will appreciate the saving - good luck on seeing him rise
  6. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Notts County suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Carlisle United It was end to end stuff with both teams having 20+ shots but the deadlock was broken in the 50th minute when Julian Schieber of Carlisle followed up on a parried shot to knock in the rebound and earn his side the 3 points I just can't seem to take any points from the teams above me in the league. This result sees me remain in 7th spot but 8 points adrift of the play-off spots. I'll need to go on a good run soon to have any hope. Well done Carlisle
  7. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ A bit of a review of my last couple of weeks with Notts County: 2 losses against some top sides in Reading and West Ham - Fair enough, I've got some work to do before challenging the top sides. Then a couple of good wins against other teams hoping to play themselves into contention for play off spots - Leyton Orient and Shorpe. Then a dark day when I forgot to set tactics for a home tie with Colchester, resulted in a 1-1 draw, thankful for the point I suppose. And to the transfer window, managed to bring in Dimitar Berbatov (91) and Ruben Micael (88) a 25yr old AM by moving on Marc Janko (88), Fran Rico (84) and Ishmel Demontagnac (76) - decent enough business I think But, a cash sale for Mikael Silvestre fell over due to squad numbers and now that I've fixed that problem - NO BIDS Latest game was a 2-1 home loss to top of the table Sheffield United. Disappointed to be honest, I had hoped for something from the game but Berbatov had a poor debut up front on his own only managing a 6 rating. Meanwhile, Ruben Micael scored on debut from the midfield with County's only shot on target! This leaves me in 9th spot, 7 points from play off contention - Must Do Better:( Next up is Oldham away, I really ought to be too strong for them - my first 11 average rating is up to 85 now!
  8. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Delighted to ****** a rare away victory today! Notts County beat AFC Bournemouth 2 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture. Marc Janko earning his wages with his 2 goals from our 2 shots on target Lucky I previewed this post! :D It's turned into an awesome game of guess the missing word Jeez, dirty minds at SM!
  9. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ A sound humping was dished out to bottom of the league unmanaged Bury as predicted! Notts County beat Bury 4 - 1 in their Division 3 fixture. Ginczek scored a brace and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. This leaves me in 9th 4 points off the play off spots and I welcome back Johann Berg Gudmundsson after a 1 month injury absence. It all helps
  10. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Notts County lost 4 - 3 to Preston North End in a thrilling Division 3 encounter. Van Aanholt, Janko and Yilmaz were amongst the goalscorers. A narrow defeat away from home despite having the better of the stats. Also suffered a couple of injuries but nothing this squad can't handle Fully expect to bounce back tonight in a home game against bottom of the league unmanaged Bury!
  11. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Notts County outclassed Chesterfield and beat them 2 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture. Possession 62% 38% Total Shots 32 9 Shots On Target 18 1 Corners 5 3 Yellow Cards 1 1 Red Cards 0 1 This result takes me up to 8th but don't want to get carried away because I've had a bit of a run against unmanaged sides of late Couple of interesting facts tho: Had about 7000 more fans at this game than previous record attendance - good for the coffers! And, Marc Janko has now been MotM in 5 out of 11 games despite scoring only 2 goals!
  12. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ Tough break buddy! Good win tho! I've been very quiet lately but still enjoying the challenge with Notts County. 3 wins and a draw from my last 5 games and sitting in 10th place - so not too disheartened. Within reach of a play off push. Plus might even have contributed to tipping Infernito over the edge with my 3-3 draw with Southampton Still confident in my squad and especially happy today with a +4 for Turkish youngster Aydogdu!!
  13. Re: ★The High Rollers League - An EC★ I agree, you probably ought to be the champ, whether you sign in or not
