  1. Re: Lucas Piazon - Sao Paolo's Kaka?? Great news for him, and equally so for The Old Lady Some great information 101
  2. Re: Lucas Piazon - Sao Paolo's Kaka?? Seems that he is keen to sign with Juventus after holding talks with the club : http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2011/01/27/2325492/brazils-next-kaka-lucas-piazon-claims-he-wants-to-join Nice find by the way, Inicikirock
  3. Re: Gold Championship 123 Match Reports / Transfers Thread Sent you a PM buddy Let me know if this is sufficient
  4. Re: Help with info on missing team player K, thanks for the quick replies beckyb and Insider.
  5. I shall be brief, as I have searched and searched for an answer. My recently acquired Atletico Madrid in a new GC is missing a midfielder. I searched for him and turns out he is playing for Mallorca. Do the teams in new GC setups not have all the real life players playing for them?
  6. Re: Site Down? Frustrating - I have a champs cup final tonight in a GC. Worked all day and havent been able to login since I have been home. Patience is in order, but sleepiness is kicking in
  7. Re: Gold Championship 66 Official thread Still cant believe it! Last night, my Australia beat Spain 2-1 in the World Cup Final!!!! To get there, I bowled over teams like England (3-1), Netherlands (2-2p), Russia (1-0) and Czech Rep (1-0)! I still cannot believe it! What would I do without Cahill and Kewell!? lol To the Spanish manager, all I can say is my boys were on fire since the qualifiers. Hard luck and hopefully, we get a rematch next season!
  8. Re: Problem with sm Yeah, issue fixed by the looks
  9. Re: Problem with sm I amend my above statement - I just tried the fix again, this time TYPING the address rather than copy/pasting it, and it worked. I did however notice a fair few of my GC teams have "This Game World is temporarily disabled due to server problems. We will have this issue fixed shortly" So there is definately an issue that is SM-Server related I guess we hang in there, as they did change servers or something not that long ago
  10. Re: Problem with sm Me as well, I'm afraid. I am in Aus and have been trying all afternoon at work. Came home and used my Firefox, and nothing. Tried the above mentioned fix, but did not work for myself Very frustrated, as this is very, very rare for me here. Whats even worse - I logged in this morning to see how my Australia went in the World Cup Final against Spain in a GC.........I won 2-1 but havent been able to get in since checking! ahaha
  11. Re: Gold Championship 41 Transfers / Match Report Thread Juventus went down 2-1 to Milan overnight in the Italian Cup Final. The hopes and dreams of winning all 4 competitions in a season were dashed, with Milan coming up victors. Well done to the manager of Milan Just to think...........I was a mere goal away from winning the whole lot There is always next season! Out of curiousity, I wonder just how many people have won all 4 comps in a season??
  12. Re: Gold Championship 41 Transfers / Match Report Thread JUVENTUS Tonight may very well indeed be the single most important game of my life (both real life AND fantasy ). My Juventus are taking on the titanic Milan, in the Italian Cup Final for season two. This match, dear friends, is more than just about the glory of winning the coveted Italian Cup......... It has been a long and arduous season for the black and white stripes of Juventus. To put a long story short, we have taken out the Italian Shield, the SMFA Champions Cup and finished 1st in the division. All that remains is tonights nerve wrecking match against Milan and if we succeed, we will have fulfilled a string of wins that might give Nedved second thoughts about retiring! ahaha All the best to manager Firstname Spoon and his Milan squad..............this match is going to be a cracker!
  13. I am not sure about everyone else, but I think the tactics screen could use a notes section. I started manually writing in a notebook years ago, as it was hard to remember captains, penalty takers, etc. with the lesser known clubs, or simply clubs I knew nothing about. I also like to take notes on oppostions key players, formations (especially from previous seasons) and anything else of interest that arises. It could be implemented in a similar way that the pre-game instructions has been done. Simply one extra tab, with the ability to add, modify or delete notes, which could appear perhaps in bulletin point form below your tactics interface. It may also be handy for those of you who like to make notes on transfer players, like I do or just any notes in particular that you wish to remember. Let us know what everyones thoughts are.
  14. Re: Gold Championship 55 Transfers / Match Report Thread Hamburger SV take out the triple!! In a stunning season one performance, Hamburger SV have taken out the German triple - German Shield, 1st Division and German Cup! Manager Dan McCabe was quoted as saying "It was an outstanding season, which saw youth stepping up and also, the signing of big gun Ruud Van Nistelrooy." "Captain David Jarolim showed our boys the way, with style and grace......" "I wish to take this opportunity to make special mention of two exceptional young players, who stepped up when the need arose, and performed beyond anyone's expectation, mine most of all. Young winger, Kosi Saka, scored an impressive 3 goals in 9 appearances and a further two goals, one in the German Cup, the other in the German Shield. We look forward to seeing him develop more within the club over the coming seasons. A truly exciting winger to watch!" "Dennis Aogo has been awarded the Club's internal Prestigious Player of the Season Award. After David (Jarolim) succumbed to an injury which saw him sidelined for nearly half the season, Dennis (Aogo) was placed in Davids' defensive midfield spot. He not only played well consistently, he outperformed his peers in nearly every game. We at Hamburger are absolutely thrilled to have this dazzling young 22 year old defender................and yes, he did receive a nice little bonus for his contributions this season!" After their consistent performance all season, Hamburger SV are looking set to leave their mark in the SMFA Cup next season, after disappointingly bowing out of the SMFA Shield in round 3 this season (lost on away goals).
  15. Re: Gold Championship Game World Economies
  16. Re: Gold Championship Game World Economies I certainly know where they are coming from BigDirtyJames, as my Eintracht Frankfurt had lost over $100 million. I was lucky in the fact I had no deals going on, so I wasn't overly heartbroken. 'Tis a shame, however, that most of my players are older, like in their 30's, so will have to just start saving for some youth I suspect that this whole ordeal will take time to pan and even out, as one would expect. Until then, guess we shall have the highs and lows in regards to the changes. Good luck to everyone with the new changes and may it make you prosper and help your small teams
  17. Re: Gold Championship Game World Economies I just want to say that this is the best implemented, long term plan that SM has put forward. Best idea since breakfast cereal. I know there are those who seem to be hard done by, but I have been noticing a trend....................rather than actually READING all provided information by SM in regards to this Economy change, people are sending out global messages complaining, stating that its not fair, etc, BEFORE EVEN READING ABOUT IT. I have had 3 messages in GC's today alone, all asking "Where's my money gone?" or "Has anyone else lost money?". I think it is appalling that some Gold Members do not have the incentive to investigate before flying off the handle. I mean, how hard is it to miss reading the latest news in your club overview? And the other thing that makes me laugh, are the ones who say "hard earned money" when they manage a team like Barcelona. ahaha About as hard earned as holding your hand out for a payout!
  18. Re: Gold Championship 5 official match thread Hi there everyone! Just thought I would share my exciting experience during the course of playing in GC5. I first became a gold member around a year ago, and my first team in a GC league was 1.FC Kaiserslautern, division one. I picked them up during the early stages (perhaps mid?) of season 3 and had a fantastic 85 ave team, with the odd 86, 87, 88, such as Timo Rost(86), Diaz Ayoze(88) and Diego Herner(88). They performed solidly throughout that season, and I added more players around the 87-89 bracket over time (even now ). Low and behold, my first ever team in a Gold Championship won the German 1st Division! I was so ecstatic! It came down to the wire, if I remember correctly, and it was the draws that helped get me over the line. Of course, the next season for me came as a brutal tidal wave, as I wasn't sure how the players would fair in the SMFA Cup and local/league matches. I copped it pretty sweet in the SMFA cup, finishing 3rd in my div. I did however, manage to win the local Shield, for that guaranteed berth in the SMFA Shield next season (which is the current season). The season thus far has been awesome, to say the least. Very competitive and the SMFA Shield proved to be a true test for my slowly crafted team. I made it to the SMFA Shield Quarter Final - an away game against Sunderland! 'Twas an easy disposal for the home team, Sunderland 3 - 0 1.FC Kaiserslautern I was distraught, a tad hungry perhaps, but stoked I made the Quarters! Overall, this Gold Championship has been my absolute fave, no doubt about it. The original, and the best for me. This season is looking like a top 3 finish, if I can hold my place firmly..............cant wait for the next season! And the next...... Pleasure to be a part of it and look forward to seeing you all on the pitch at some stage..........certainly feel free to send a friendly match invite. Wouldn't mind playing some of the big names outside of Germany, if anyone is keen Hooroo for now. Dan McCabe - Gold Championship #5 1.FC Kaiserslautern
  19. Re: Multi Tab Help I thank you for your generous response towards my aforementioned post Although not deliberate, I did do something very similar to what you were just mentioning, during a blackout. I feel quite the daft fool, believe you me! Its quite funny that, in knowing the ins and outs (or thinking one does!), it is easy to forget the simple/obvious things I thank you so much again, Mr Adamski, for your helpfulness, kindness and understanding. With some free time to myself nowadays, I will start to frequent these forums a great deal more than I have in the past, as people like yourself make this the great community it is! I am off to multitab my little heart out! Thanks again and best of luck through your current seasons. Dan McCabe
  20. Re: Multi Tab Help Thanks a bundle there Mr Adamski! A fantastically quick reply! I am somewhat relieved that it isnt the tabbing, and on the other hand, I am greatly disappointed in myself for breaching SM protocol along the line somewhere I shall carry on using multitabbing without worrying Mr Adamski Sorry to the SM Staff for any form of cheating/abuse and sorry to any manager/s who may have been affected by my cheating/abuse.
  21. Hi there to all my fellow Soccer Managers and SM Staff! I was after a little help in regards to using Mozilla Firefox with Soccer Manager. I have always had a tendency to have multiple tabs open in Firefox when setting up my teams/tactics in SM. There are numerous reasons for this - having my squad in one tab and the transfer list in another, or having an opposition team in another tab for thoroughly and quickly planning my tactics - these are just a couple of reasons. It then came to my attention, when trying to select a new team in a new setup, that it may be causing problems. To elaborate, I simply could not select a new team in a brand new setup, as I got a dreaded message in regards to multiple accounts and/or cheating and could not get a team in that particular setup, among a couple of others. Upon receiving a reply from SM Admin, I was told that the Anti Cheat System within SM had prevented me from selecting a team. So my help question is this..........is it possible that the SM Anti Cheat System is picking up on the fact that I have more than one window open, therefore, it thinks I have multiple accounts or something along those lines? I thank any of you for your input regarding this matter, as I do take pride in not cheating in any game, as it ruins it for everyone. I cannot blame anyone bar myself, if multi tabbing is the cause, though it would be interesting if anyone else has had a similar case. To the SM staff, SM managers and SM forum members..........keep up the fantastic work. This is certainly THE best community the world has to offer! I am into my second year of membership, and it looks like I am here for a VERY long haul! Thank you all, Dan McCabe
  22. Hi everybody! I have been playing SM for a couple of months now and must apologise for not poking my head in the forums........... My name is Dan McCabe and I live in beautiful, sunny Queensland, Australia. My favourite team is, of course, Queensland Roar! Thoroughly enjoying SM and so far have made a couple of friends from it from different walks and ways of life. Look forward to meeting some more great people and those who are disagreeable.................see you on the turf! Pleasure to be here and take care over the holiday break, especially if travelling Dan McCabe
