  1. Re: Official Aston Villa Thread ! * no spoilers * Snagged Carlos Sanchez. Finally a real defensive mid for us And there's talk about 1 more signing before the window shuts.
  2. Re: .:10000 bc:. I'm officially leaving Porto. Pleased to have led the team to 2nd place and won promotion to division 1. Picked up youngster Alex Grimaldo as well. Thanks everyone for making this set up so competitive and fun. Will really miss this, but it's about time I focused on my studies. Wishing the next Porto manager the best of luck with the team.
  3. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Jetro Willems or Alex Grimaldo long term? Thanks in advance
  4. Re: .:10000 bc:. Porto secure promotion to Div 1 with a 3-1 victory over Marseille. In other news, the club has announced it is ready to offload midfielder Joe Allen. The next Porto manager will be inheriting a pretty decent Div 1 team.
  5. Re: Official Aston Villa Thread ! * no spoilers * Ugh the transfer window just gets worse and worse...
  6. Re: .:10000 bc:. As this season draws to an end, I've had some serious consideration about my SM commitments. I have my A levels at the end of the year. My grades are far from what I should be achieving. I probably just flunked my exams last week. You can guess where this is going. No I haven't lost interest in SM; quite the opposite it's actually a distraction from my work. I've spent a few years on SM now, but I can't say I've become good at it. I come on regularly to tweak tactics but it usually doesn't make a difference. The transfers and the concept of this set up though, has always kept me engaged. It's a wonderful GW. And as much as I try to convince myself that I can stay on, I know that I won't be able to give 100% for both the club and my studies. Porto is available if there's any new manager who's keen on taking over now. Otherwise, I'll see out the rest of the season, hopefully achieve promotion and take my leave then.
  7. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Bertrand or Buttner?

  10. Re: .:10000 bc:. Seriously, when have you not overpaid for a player?
  11. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Between Koscielny, 91 and Skrtel, 90. But I'll have Koscielny. Liverpool is poised to clinch the title after a good season so there's much optimism about a rise for Skrtel. But it must be highlighted that SAS pretty much carried the club this season; Liverpool's defence imo has contributed little. For a club in 1st position, it's quite appalling that they've only managed 10 clean sheets. That's quite average. Even Crystal Palace has more. They win purely on outscoring opponents (6-3 v Cardiff). Arsenal though have 14 clean sheets, in no small part down to Koscielny and Mertesacker's partnership. While the number of goals both clubs have conceded are quite close, it should be noted that a chunk of Arsenal's GA was from games against Chelsea, Liverpool etc where their defence's high positioning was repeatedly exposed. They have however, managed to keep tight against other smaller teams which Liverpool has failed to. Imho the case for a Skrtel rise seems shaky, but then again it's SM. Who knows. Even if he did rise, it won't be to 92 anyway.
  12. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Quote SM Help: The same two clubs can only make 3 transfer deals between them per season. If they have already made more than 3 transfers then they will have to wait until the next season to initiate any further transfer. However' date=' there is an exception to this rule in that [b']an external club can buy as many players[/b] off a managed side as they want as this does not count towards the limit. I'll take Lacazette.
  13. Re: .:10000 bc:. Porto Complete Van Persie Deal FC Porto has announced its latest signing of the season - prolific Dutch striker Robin van Persie! Porto beat Bayern, Leverkusen, Benfica and Napoli to sign van Persie in a deal worth $25million, as well as seeing solid centre back Thomas Vermaelen head to Mainz. With just 2 games left, will van Persie prove to be the star that Porto desperately need in their bid to win promotion to top tier football? The Porto manager was emphatic in his response. "I am certain Robin will come good for the club and win points on his own! There is no price too high for a player so talented." Porto visit 6th placed Manchester City tomorrow, before ending the season at home against Real Madrid.
  14. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Balotelli imo Sell and use the 21mil to get a better player.
