  1. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Very disappointed in Sterling, you want 130k a week you can't be shying away from penalty duty.
  2. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Should have kept Balotelli on, was pretty obvious it would come down to penalties.
  3. Re: Official Arsenal Thread So amateur to let Monaco get that last goal, caught on the counter for the whole game, you'd have expected a manager like Wenger to have sorted that early.
  4. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread The decision isn't going to change and the FA aren't reading your mutterings, you're not the first team to be on the end of a bad decision and you won't be the last.
  5. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread Don't think anyone harps on about a decision more than Chelsea fans, crazy how thoroughly they believe everything Mourinho says.
  6. Re: Official Premier League Discussion Thread Read again I thought it was a red card Chatting to some people about it and looking online that is the other opinion that Matic was unfortunately caught by the follow through rather than a tackle intended to injure
  7. Re: Official Premier League Discussion Thread I'm just going to be that guy and play devil's advocate a moment, if you watch the tackle it's actually a pass as Barnes has the ball, just unfortunate that Matic was so quick to intercept the ball and is caught by Barnes swinging leg (swinging for the pass) I personally believed it was a red using common sense but I can understand how they've come to such a decision, If Matic doesn't make that challenge he doesn't get kicked, you do run the risk of being hit with the follow through when you intercept someone mid swing. Just a thought
  8. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Think another huge difference is that Rodgers is willing to make early subs now when it's not working rather than waiting till mid point in the second half, putting Moreno on at half time completely subdued Southamptons main threat down the right, i'd have to believe they'd have scored had Markovic stayed on. Got to admit had my doubts on Rodgers (Can't blame me we were playing worse than I've ever seen) but he's proven that he can adapt his tactics and during his most testing time as manager he's passed, tactics are brilliant it's just so disappointing that we didn't make this switch just a couple of weeks before. I think he's learnt from the better and I think the pressure from the fans and media gave him the kick he needed. Skrtel was fantastic today, had my doubts on him for a while but he just has some games like this where he is just utterly unplayable, to get a win missing some really key players like Sakho and Lucas and not even starting a striker is really impressive against the best defence in the league. Also some very good signs that we can cope without Gerrard we've got through some really tough fixtures without him recently and play much better football without him. Joe Allen even had a great game today bar his idiotic lunge early on. I'd take a point against City for sure but it would be nice to beat them and get a bit of revenge for last season. Found a couple of interesting stats, Mignolet has the 3rd most clean sheets in the league on 9 (Joint with Fabianski I think and just behind Foster and Forster) And in Rodgers 3 seasons here he's only lost 4 games in the second half of the season winning 29.
  9. Re: Official Liverpool Thread I think what made Coutinho's goal even better is that Forster is what 6ft 7? To beat him from that distance is incredible.
  10. Re: Official Liverpool Thread It's funny though that today was the first time I heard Sakho was even a doubt for the game, you'd have thought it'd gone round the speculation sites like it usually does.
  11. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Rodgers said he picked up a knock but I honestly believe he was just being rested so he could play Lovren against his old team without the pressure of fans wondering why Sakho was dropped.
  12. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Defensively so much better in the second half, soaked up everything Southampton had to offer, again Mignolet brilliant, and Skrtel was fantastic today. Poor attacking wise but we were under so much pressure and split by one bit of quality, even Lovren looked good today. Huge week next week, Top 4 is well and truly on now.
  13. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Been a poor performance this but so clinical when needed
  14. Re: Official Liverpool Thread This defending has been utterly dreadful
  15. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Well that was the clearest penalty of the lot, guess it's even now.
  16. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Oh what a goal
  17. Re: Official Liverpool Thread That line-up has honestly knocked all my confidence in this game
  18. Re: Official Premier League Discussion Thread What a joke of a penalty decision that was, very very minimal contact, absolutely nothing will be said though with it being Kane, West Ham robbed there.
  19. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Was going to say especially with a jam packed schedule right before playing City this is a really winnable match in truth. If we go within one of Southampton and two of United I wouldn't count us out nicking 4th.
