  1. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Norwich City 1 point from 12, including a 5-0 hammering at home, prompted the manager to address the fans' accusations of summer transfer complacency. In comes; Manuel Fernandes DM,M,AM© 28/89 from Lokomotiv Patrick Ebert AM(RLC) 27/88 from Spartak Yevhen Seleznyov F© 29/88 from Dnipro Umut Bulut F(RLC) 31/88 from Galatasaray Taras Mykhalyk D,DM© 30/87 also from Lokomotiv A handful of younger squad players (83-86) depart to make way for the more experienced group who it is hoped can have a more immediate impact on the pitch. Saturday's away trip to Scunny marked the debut of the first of the new arrivals, Manuel Fernandes. An impressive display saw him earn an assist, the winning goal, MoTM and a slot on ToTD... Carrow Road looks forward to welcoming all the new players pitch-side before tonight's kick-off in Round 2 of the Cup where The Canaries host Niall's high-flying Hammers. None of them will feature in tonight's fixture due to lack of match fitness but it is hoped they will spur on the existing players who now face added competition for their places...
  2. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Yay, at last - something for The Canaries' fans to cheer about. Fernandes makes ToTD on his debut for Norwich tonight after his MoTM performance, assist and winning goal...
  3. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom(Match Reports,Transfer News,Discussion, and Slagging!) I think there's a couple of 80's in the GW and lots of upper 70's. At least my incoming players will be my best ones...
  4. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom(Match Reports,Transfer News,Discussion, and Slagging!) There's me scrambling away to bring in as many 74's as the GW rules allow whilst most clubs have already got 75+'s by the shedload... The big question is, who is the best default player in the GW ? Do we have any mid-80's amongst us?
  5. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom(Match Reports,Transfer News,Discussion, and Slagging!) Yep, it's going to take quite a while to fully re-staff our clubs from top to bottom working within the 30 man rule and with the delay in external bids. So much deadwood I could make a bonfire although, for once, it pays to be a small club with a default 21 man squad. I'd imagine there are some bigger clubs who can't move at all until the externals come in. Tick tock...
  6. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom(Match Reports,Transfer News,Discussion, and Slagging!) Like others this morning just logged in to 60+ messages which could mean only one thing - it's transfer time, wahey... Amazing how many bids have gone in for my dummy shortlist - tee hee... So, the big dilemma - go for the obvious risers like everyone else or build a team from the back? Decisions, decisions - gotta' love a brand new, competitive GW...
  7. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom! Yes, SW is a bit toss isn't it... What I've found so far is the gems are a long, long way from page 1 of the searches and I'm looking at clubs I've never heard of. 74 is so much harder to scout than 75 where the big clubs junior players seem to start on the new player list. Good fun, I might actually get some work done by about 4 o'clock...
  8. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom! I'm currently on page 8 of the left backs, 74 and under, having already scoured 12 pages of goalkeepers - my god, there's a lot of chaff to plough through to get to the wheat...
  9. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom! Good to keep it to 10 or 12 teams per division, Keith - it means the next failed season is never far away... Who's that moaning about a squad value of ONLY 18m, for Pete's sake? My lot are worth a mighty 1.6m and a lawn mower...
  10. Re: EC Anno Domini - the invaded‏ Quality, Ed - poetic and mildly disturbing in equal measure...
  11. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom! Woking FC Pleased about the 74 rule, Keith - gives the real minnows more of a sporting chance. Now all we need is a 'must-sell-over-80' rule... I had a quick look at Woking in another 'unstarted' GW - their best player is a 79 (34 years old, d'oh...), the next best is a 74, then everyone else is 64-72. I must be crackers... Woking are actually doing ok, IRL - unbeaten in 7 and 3rd in the Conference...
  12. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom! They were definitely available when I first looked at page 1 but wozlives has beaten me to it by the look of it - no worries. I'll take Woking from the Conference if you need to expand...
  13. Re: It's Tough At The Bottom! Hi Keith, Thanks for the heads up, mate - I'll take Stanley if they're still going? Have no idea how I'm going to find the time for scouting but we'll give it a whirl... Cheers, ruts
  14. Re: EC Anno Domini - the invaded‏ Stoke City FC ... The quiet men of Staffordshire visit Norway tonight for their first competitive overseas fixture of the season. ... Viking FK host The Potters in R3 of The Invaded Cup where the latter are hoping for a repeat of the level of performance seen in their pre-season encounter. ... Recent arrivals Boateng, Mkhitaryan and Immobile bring additional quality to an otherwise stock Stoke City side who find themselves early pace setters in Division 1. ... Viking's star-quality keeper, Petr Cech, will be relishing centre stage between the sticks in front of the passionate Stavanger faithful.
  15. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Norwich City After a promising start to the new Div3 campaign The Canaries slip from 1st to 13th in the space of 3 matches - yikes !!! Plenty of truth in the old adage that you can't stand still if you want to avoid going backwards, something like that anyway. Delia has requested an urgent meeting to discuss the manager's lack of summer transfer activity. Expect some personnel changes soonest...
  16. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread The important thing for now is that job offers go 'somewhere safe' after being rejected by an existing manager who doesn't want the club on offer, rather than being picked up by a random noob or troublemaker. Craig doesn't have to make the decision alone as to who gets the job from the waiting list - that could be put to a vote amongst the existing managers, for example. Personally, I have absolutely no problem in Craig deciding for himself who is 'fit and proper' to join though - he is Chairman Of The 7046 Board as far as I'm concerned. Whatever we do, I just hope we can do it quickly so we don't have another Wolverhampton on our hands...
  17. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Agreed, it appears there are one or two individuals out there, perhaps a little short of friends or medication, determined to sabotage the leading forum game worlds, one club after another. It is essential we put in place some safeguards against these very sad individuals - hopefully, there's some mileage in the 'vetting-by-Craig' system whereby only decent, long-standing managers from the waiting list are drafted in...
  18. Re: Wc 40000 Boca Juniors Division 4 ruts66 ... takes control of Boca Juniors. This season your Chairman expects you to finish in the top half of the table. Boca Juniors were founded in 1905 and play their home games at La Bombonera in Buenos Aires. The club is also known as Los Xeneizes
  19. Re: EC Anno Domini - the invaded‏ Can we have a webcam on Noisy's grandfather clock, please...
  20. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Hi Machines, Thanks for that, mate - I have absolutely no idea where that performance came from... After a shocking start to the season, where Torquay looked every inch a candidate for relegation, it's suddenly five games unbeaten and a +ve GD. Cheers SM, there's nothing I've done any different... ruts
  21. Re: EC Anno Domini - the invaded‏ Hi Paul/Noisy, Is this the correct path to selecting a team at 6.00pm GMT tomorrow, please? Add club > Club Search > Custom GW > "Anno" > Search... Cheers, ruts
  22. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Quality, Ben - this is the stuff which sets 7046 apart...
