The original WC trophy, the Jules Rimet, was available for keeps for whoever team won the WC 3 times. All of the above teams have won the current WC at least 2 times

A few things to note about the game..

-Barcelona need a plan B. Simply passing the ball and pushing it forward is not the way to go when playing defensive teams like Inter. Playing wide crosses is even stupider when half your team have the height of prepubescent boys.
-Barca are starting to see a worrying tendency- lack of inspirational players. Dani Alves, Ibrahimovic (obviously), and Messi, yes Messi seem to run out of ideas and just sit there when things don't go completely in their favor.
-On the subject of Ibra, that man will go down as a flop for Barcelona. No doubt about it. The Clasico in which he scored and his previous scoring run, as well as his brace against Arsenal, were all flukes. He is lazy, uninterested and even somewhat petulant. Selling Eto'o, personal problems or not, was huge mistake for Barca, and obviously a huge win for Inter.
-Andres Iniesta's absence could very well have been the difference for Barca over the tie. Last year Iniesta sent Barca to the final. This year his absence prevented them from making the final again. He offers an extra dimension to the game, being able to seamlessly play as both a partner to Xavi or as an attacking winger.
-Iniesta's replacement, Busquets, looks and plays like a lightweight, mediocre holding mid. His disgusting playacting against Thiago Motta did his reputation no favors. I swear, if the boy wasn't Catalan he would be playing for Almeria or Deportivo.
-Pique needs a positional change to CB/CF. He has to.
-Overall, a great performance from Inter and Mourinho over the tie. Fantastic defensive plays, they parked the bus and won! Lucio and Samuel deserve rises for this, it would be an injustice for them not to.
-On the subject of SM, this is the first CL in the last 2-3 years where the two finalists were not the teams everybody expected to make the final. Hopefully SM sees this as a reason to level the playing field with the upcoming changes...

    My humble predictions:
Bordeaux vs. Lyon: 1st leg is so tight it ends 0-0. 2nd leg so tight it also ends 0-0. Penalties are so even that after 15 rounds, both teams have the same results, with Lloris and Carraso saving two each. After 3 hours, the referee flips a coin to get a winner. Bordeaux got through.
Bayern vs. Man U: 1st leg ends in a tense but fun 1-1 draw. 2nd leg appears to be close until the 6th-and-17th-second minute of extra time, where Rooney pops up to score the winner. Man U go through 2-1 agg.
Arsenal vs. Barcelona: Over both legs, Arsenal and Barcelona play such beautiful football that both crowds at the Emirates and Camp Nou go blind from the razzle dazzle. Ironically, the two jogo-bonito less players on the pitch, Bendtner and Ibra, get the goals of the 1st leg in a 1-1 draw. In the 2nd leg Arsenal have high hopes but Lionel Messi scores 17 goals in 10 minutes to send Barca through, 18-1 agg.
Inter vs. CSKA: The least exciting game of the quarters results in less than 100 spectators at either stadium. The first leg at the San Siro ends in a 0-3 win for CSKA, who put their best performance of the season through Honda, Dzagoev, and an own goal from stand-in Materazzi. The 2nd leg ends 4-0 for the Italians though, as the Berezutski brothers score 3 incredible own goals, and Sneijder gets a pen.
Which he fails, for which Aleksei Berezutski manages to get to it first but in his attempt to clear it backheels it into the net. Inter through, 4-3 agg.

Re: Players: Should I buy, sell or keep?
IMO he's cheap and he could get a very small rise so go for it... in the African Cup of Nations squad for Ghana already (ahead of Appiah and Muntari), so he has all the looks of a future star.. buy him.
I also have a dilemma.. my Darlington squad has three strikers I use, Dzeko, Hulk, and Keirrison. However, I want to sell Keirrison because I know he isn't getting games for Benfica and there are better options available. Right now the best options are either Pazzini or Alejandro Domninguez, who has just been bought by Valencia.
So my question is this: who to buy? Dominguez is cheaper but money isn't really an issue, I can p/e for both of them. Is Dominguez a dead cert for 90, considering his exploits for Rubin, and if he is, will he be rated when Spain comes or when Russia. And is Pazzini cert for 90 as well? I tending towards Dominguez but if he's rated with Russia Keirrison could drop by then, potentially bombing my p/e deal.

bleulemon got a reaction from KopStar in Stoppage/Injury time
As we all know, football has 90 minutes of normal play, followed by usually 1-2 minutes after the 45th to signal the end of the 1st half, and then 1-5 minutes after the 90th to signal the end of the game. This means that a game is 90 minutes of normal time, followed by 2-6 minutes of stoppage time combined.
Now, if anyone watches a SM game in the Score Centre, you can see that there is only one action designated per minute. The 45th and 90th minute are always reserved for "Half-Time" and "Full-time" This means that theoretically, there are only 88 chances to score in a SM game. Now that isn't very realistic but the fact that there is no stoppage time isn't realistic either.
What I was thinking of was if somehow there could be an change to the game engine to accomodate stoppage time
It could be set-up like this:
1st half: 1-3 minutes of injury time
2nd half- 1-5 minutes of stoppage time.
This number could be random, but could also be set up to correlate the number of yellow and red cards given during the match.
I think this will make the game better and realistic, as well as adding an element of suprise to the game (Under the current engine, if you didn't score in the 89th minute, it's over) Because there is nothing better than winning a match in the 95th minute
    Any thoughts?

Cissokho- move to milan or not, a regular for Porto, could be a regular for Milan
Orlando Sa- has to face competition from Lisandro and Hulk, and plus there are arguably better forwards in the NT.
If you're getting Cissokho, do the deal! Especially if you already have other young forward prospects

this has to be the most ridicolous one so far... now i lose my best player for 4 weeks for something comparable to cutting yourself with a razor? silly, really.
how about a complete revamp of the injury engine so we have "player out for 8 weeks for getting kicked in the groin" or "player out for 10 days for being called a idiot" ?
    OR:
how about getting rid of unrealistic scenarios and keeping the REAL injuries?

bleulemon got a reaction from fadedwolfz in variation of the unmanaged club transfer ban idea
hey i was thinking and got a good idea:
    1. the first would be about unmanaged clubs and their 48-hour transfer ban.
normally when members go "like vultures" for the unmanaged players, they go for the 90+ players, or high rated under 21's.
however while the transfer ban is effective to protect the new manager and his team, it's unfair to othe managers of smaller clubs who have a genuine interest for 89, 88, 87, maybe 86 or 85 rated players. by the time the new manager is in the club, the smaller- club managers may miss the chance to buy a suitable player for their squad.
that's why im saying that instead of a 48-hour ban on transfering from unmanaged clubs, there should an UNLIMITED ban on 90+ players of unmanaged clubs, and the same for 85+ u21 players.
but for the other players, no ban at all.
    what do you think?
