  2. Re: If Drogba Leaves - Who Should Chelsea Replace Him With? Haven't read through everything here but i just lolled at the comments made by some people saying Malouda is good now. Haha:) Him and Drogba fall over easier than a toddler and spend most of the game crying on the field:rolleyes: And no1 needs to tell me that Ronaldo dives, i know he does:rolleyes: As for the replacement. Probably David Villa because Chelsea got the green and Valencia don't. Maybe Zlatan because of the Mourinho link.
  3. Re: Gold Championship 20 Match Reports/Transfer Thread Cries of joy to cries of despair The Bundesliga was incredibly tight last year, with Bayern Munchen edging the title by a point. It was heart break for the Hertha BSC fans last season but, believe it or not, it was even tighter this time around! The resilient Hertha lost out on the title by goal difference as the fans experienced heartbreak once again. It went down to the last day with Hertha and Bremen on level points but Bremen had a superior goal difference, meaning that if they were to win, the title was theirs for the taking. Even more excitement when it was stated that the games were to be played at the same time. A day of nerves for both teams. Hertha BSC were to take on Energie Cottbus and Bremen were to play a struggling Wolfsburg. Goals from Kacar and Miccoli gave Hertha a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time as the players and fans waited for the half time score of the other fixture to appear. To the delight of the Hertha fans and players, the score was 0-0. Advantage Hertha. Hertha were happy to keep the score line at 2-0 and they were pretty much in control of their game but Bremen were still struggling. At the hour mark, Thomas Goodson made 3 substitutions. The most controversial decision proved out to be the defining moment of the season. The Bremen manager bamboozled everyone by bringing on veteran Irish striker Alan Lee. It was also the Irishman's debut for the German giants. 10 minutes before full time, Alan Lee scored arguably the most crucial goal of the season. The Bremen fans went into an ecstasy. Hertha BSC came out winners in their fixture, winning by 2 goals to one as they awaited the result of the Bremen-Wolfsburg game. Their joy was short lived after they realised that Bremen had gotten a late winner. The players dropped to their knees and the fans went quiet as Sheva rushed onto the pitch to console his players. Heart break once again for Hertha BSC but Sheva said that he was delighted with the sheer effort that the boys have put in for him this season and they did deserve better. A young fan cries as she sees her team lose out on goal difference.
  4. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC 53: Second honour with B.Monchengladbach as they clinch the Charity Shield against Hamburger SV. 3-0 on penalties after being 0-0 at full time. Would appreciate any loans 83+ due to my hectic schedule. Cheers:)
  5. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Well done to Tom Goodson for winning the Bundesliga with Bremen in GC 20. It was nail-biting towards the end but you managed to edge it and i knew you would;). Hertha finish second best for a second season in a row:( 1 Werder Bremen 34 25 2 7 106 41 65 77 2 HERTHA BSC 34 24 5 5 80 36 44 77 3 Bayern Munchen 34 21 5 8 85 46 39 68 Went down to Bremen's superior gold difference in the end. Henrique Hugo still up for sale (P/E). Would love an 87+ defender. GC 23: Clemens Fritz for sale (P/E) GC 53: Alvaro Arbeloa still up for sale. P/E again.
  6. Re: Alex or Bruno Alves? Did you read what he said after that? He said; "I know he hit that screamer against LFC but I would put that down to a rocket shot more than a good free kick taker as like that one he didnt aim hit just wacked it as hard as he could (great goal mind)" That FK he took for PSV for similar to the one he took against LFC. It is just power, hit and hope i suppose. As for the question...Bruno Alves, no doubt about it. Alex is overrated:). Once Carvalho returns, Alex will go bye bye because Carvalho can defend;)
  7. Re: Overrated XI I was thinking the same thing. Put aside your hate for Man Utd and start thinking clearly. Just because you don't like the team, it doesn't mean it is full of overrated players. I hate Liverpool but if i was to make my overrated XI, there would hardly be any Liverpool players in it (Maybe just Babel). Giggs is one of the most underrated players of all time, you don't even have to be a united fan to know that.
  8. Re: Gold Championship 23 Match Reports/ Transfers Thread Porto edge closer to the title The last two games have seen the Portuguese heavyweights demolish Benfica and Sporting. Goals from Llorente, Rossi (2), Sessegnon, Cristian Rodriguez and Godin secured a 6-1 victory. Porto then made the trip to José Alvalade to take on Sporting. Sessegnon, Godin, Llorente and Cristian Rodriguez were on the score sheet yet again as Porto cruised to a 4-0 victory. They sit comfortable at the top of the table, 20 points ahead of Sporting Braga. The manager said that players like Marchisio, Roger, Pique, Vertonghen and Hoarau will be given more opportunities to shine. Eduardo Salvio and Russian duo, Alan Dzagoev and Aleksandr Dimidko are also expected to feature. Porto's latest signing Claudio Marchisio is likely to make his debut against Boavista. However, he will face competition from Santos Ramires, Vukojevic and Sessegnon for his permanent spot in midfield Marchisio- Porto's new boy looks to establish himself as a key player for the Portuguese giants.
  9. Re: Gold Championship 53/Match Reports/Transfers. B.Monchengladbach take the Bundesliga! It was cat and mouse between Bayern Munchen and B.Mon'bach towards the end of the season. Bayern had their revenge exactly a month ago when they trashed the Die Folen 6-1 which brought the giants back into the title race. However, since then, the Die Folen have not faltered and managed to win all of their 6 games. Their home record stays intact with no team being able to beat them at Borussia Park. They finished 11 points ahead of second place Bayern Munchen and the manager was delighted with what the club has achieved since his arrival. Many thought that the turning point of the season was when Bayern demolished Mon'bach and pundits were tipping the giants for another title. Not only did Mon'bach lose but they also lost 3 key players. Marin was seriously injured and was stretchered off and it was later confirmed that the youngster was out for the rest of the season. Van der Wiel and Pablo Amo were also sent off in that game which meant that Sheva was to face selection headaches ahead. Rodrigo Mancha, Levels and Baumjohann filled in brilliantly for the unavailable 3 for the rest of the season and the Die Folen secured the league with two games in hand. When asked on the player of the season, the manager had no hesitation in calling out the name of his goalie. Corona has been solid all season and has earned 10 MoMs in 32 appearances. The team has taken a new look for next season. Tranquillo Barnetta was shipped off to Portugal with right back Zdenek Grygera and centre back Jorge Rolando heading to Germany. Both are expected to be regulars next season with Pablo Amo returning to Spain after his season long spell in Germany. Youngster, Alexander Baumjohann will replace Barnetta after he impressed since the injury of Marin. Baumjohann and Marin are two of the three players that survived from the team Hans Meyer left last season.
  10. Re: Gold Championship 20 Match Reports/Transfer Thread Pundits tip Bremen for the Bundesliga Hertha BSC have enjoyed most of the season sitting on top of the table but as the season draws to a close, they are once again displaying the nerves they showed last season which cost them 1st place. Pundits have said that Hertha BSC will once again crack under the pressure and they will fail for keep their lead for much longer. Hertha are 3 points ahead of Bremen with 5 games to go but today sees them make a trip to Munich to take on the on-form giants. Bremen on the other hand have an easier trip to Borussia Park. With Bremen ahead on goal difference, today could see them go ahead of Hertha. Hertha BSC have gained just a single point from their last two games. Their last game saw them travel to Arminia Bielefeld and they needed a last gasp equaliser from Carlos Eduardo to salvage themselves a point. In short, a big disappointment seeing that they really should have gotten the 3 points in that game and they would have been 5 points ahead of Bremen had they managed to do so. Sheva has said that the defence has looked nervy of late and said quite clearly that they can't afford that tonight. he said that Bayern pose a huge attacking threat and his defenders need to be confident tonight. Andre Dias finally returns today after a 3 match ban and is likely to start alongside Mykhalik and Castillo. After Bayern, they welcome Hamburg to the Olympiastadion and will face yet another challenge. Can Hertha hold on this season, or will they crack like last season and settle for second? Expected Lineup (Hertha): Diego Lopez, Andre Dias ©, Mykhalik, Castillo, Drincic, Marin, Raul Garcia, Inan, Hugo, Miccoli, Cavani. Expected Lineup (Bayern): Rensing, Lell, Lahm, Demichelis ©, Ottl, Borowski, Altintop, Schweinsteiger, Aguero, Van Persie, Podolski.
  11. Re: Best Set Piece Taker It was close between Becks,Pirlo and Juninho, all having their own styles. Went with Pirlo because he is a master of the art:)
  12. Re: Javier PASTORE - Man Utd Target According to further rumours on the internet, he has rejected the move to Manchester United. What a smart kid.

  14. Re: Should The EPL Be Reviewed Again?
  15. Re: Should The EPL Be Reviewed Again? Denilson to 90 made me chuckle Benayoun is a good player but keeping him at 89 was fair because Park should be one rating ahead of Benayoun. Bit harsh on Park if Benayoun got 90. Gabby needs to get some consistency going, but i agree they were a bit harsh on Villa. But here everyone sits on their PC/Laptop moaning about around 10 players rating change that they don't agree with. It is easy for you to say but imagine you were one of the researchers...you do your rating changes which is your opinion, there are going to be people on the forum who are just waiting to disagree. As George said, it is impossible to get everything right (if there is a right) and it is impossible to please everyone and it is much easier for others to sit here and moan about what happened. Put yourself in their shoes. It is their opinion that counts:)
  16. Re: Where is the rise for Benayoun? Regarding Anderson; Nani was dropped because he doesn't have a spot in the team. He is not injured and he is just struggling to get into the team because of Park. If it wasn't for Anderson's injury, he was on course for a 92, so his injury basically limited him from getting a 92. A drop to 90 would have been harsh seeing that Rosicky only just dropped to 90 and he has been injured for ages. I can't remember the last time he played for Arsenal. Keeping Anderson at 91 was pretty fair IMO. Regarding Benayoun; I wouldn't be surprised if he had gotten a 90 because he is a brilliant player. Rafa should play him more. I guess it was a close call for Benayoun, he couldn't have been far off from getting a 90.
  17. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC 53: Borussia Monchengladbach win the Bundesliga finishing 11 points ahead of Bayern Munchen, who finished second:). Arbeloa still for sale.
  18. Re: Where is the rise for Benayoun? Precisely. He is great when he plays, no doubt about that. Only problem being that he hasn't cemented a place in Rafa's lineup. Park on the other hand has done that. He is playing ahead of Nani and playing more than the ageing Giggsey as well. Based on performances, a 90 class player but he needs to cement that spot really.

    Who Am I?

Re: Who Am I? Tony Adams:)
  20. Re: Unsung heroes!!! Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
  21. Re: Gozgoz8 list for any RISERS, any POSITION, any RATING Maicon has started as RB for Brazil for a long time, nto jsut last game. The last start Dani Alves got for Brazil was last year in March i think. Maicon has started nearly every game for Brazil as RB. Maicon to 95. Dani Alves to stay at 94. However a slightly possibility at a 95. Not far-fetched at all. Don't know what Brazil he has been watching...
  22. Re: Gozgoz8 list for any RISERS, any POSITION, any RATING Disagree with that for obvious reasons. He has struggled to get into the team since Aly Cissokho moved to Porto. Cissokho has pretty much clinched the LB spot while Fucile has moved to RB, leaving Sapunaru out. He has seen some game time lately but that is because Fucile is injured. He has been outshone by Bruno,Rolando and most recently Cissokho, not good enough to rise. Stay at 87.
