  1. Re: The Set-Up Afternoon chaps! Finally back online and I apologise for my absence. Will be catching up on my sides tonight and then catching up on here Monday. Will be attempting to get this set up really motoring so stay posted.
  2. Re: The Set-Up Alright guys. Offline for a few more days. Laptop had been playing up so its off to get fixed. The volland situation will be sorted when I'm back on (on mobile ATM). Please bare with me until then. No real harm done thoug h so not gonna be a major issue.
  3. Re: The Set-Up Nice to see big deals happening internally. Hope he does well for you! Turn 5 Preview Manchester City v Chelsea Both these sides have just 1 win from 6 and really need something to kickstart their respective campaigns. Expecting both of them to really go for it so could see some goals. The two goalkeepers could decide the game tonight. Key Players: Matija Nastasic (City) & Gary Cahill (Chelsea) My Prediction: 3-2 City Win Manchester United v Juventus Juventus are in good form going into this one having won their last two whilst United have won just 1 of their last 6. Can't see past a win for the visitors tonight especially with the addition of Andres Iniesta. United will need a big performance. Key Players: Robin Van Persie (United) & Andres Iniesta (Juve) My Prediction: 2-0 Away Win Barcelona v Bayern Munchen The big one tonight! 3rd placed Barca host league leaders Bayern in what should be a tasty encounter. Bayern have a 100% record in the league so far whilst the Spanish giants are unbeaten. Muller' date=' Gotze, Pique and Busquets are all expected to start against their old clubs. Expecting a classic. [i']Key Players: Junior Neymar (Barca) & Robert Lewandowski (Bayern) My Prediction: 2-2 Draw[/i] Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid The Madrid Derby should be quite a fiesty affair tonight. Atletico havn't lost since the opening day and with Madrid without a win in 4, they will fancy their chances tonight. That being said, if Real are on their game tonight, I fancy the hosts to scrape through. Bale will miss the game through injury. Key Players: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real) & Fernandez Gabi (Atletico) My Prediction: 2-1 Home Win Paris Saint-Germain v Borussia Dortmund PSG are on fire at the minute with Ibrahimovic undoubtedly the player of the set-up so far. If Dortmund stand any chance of picking up points tonight then they'll have to contain him somehow. The Germans meanwhile have just one victory to their name thus far and sit in 9th. I can't see their climb starting tonight, especially with key man Gundogan suspended. Key Players: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG) & Marco Reus (Dortmund) My Prediction: 3-0 PSG Win
  4. Re: English Championship 27777 - Discussion Thread Was in here when it first opened' date=' just getting back into SM so thought i'd pick these up. Great first 11 but horrible squad! All players are available. Looking for 2 for 1. Want a younger but much deeper squad than what I have now so get in touch or get your bids in. Everyone means everyone! Aguero, Toure, Schweinsteger, Kompany, Silva etc..[/font']
  5. Re: The Set-Up Team of Turn 4 Manager of the Turn Jono6895 PSG played host to one of the most potent attacks in world football tonight and handled them with ease. Eliaquim Mangala showed just how good a player he really as as he swept up anything that came his way. Zlatan was his usual impressive self and a corker from Cabaye saw the French outfit claim another 3 points which sees them move ahead of Barcelona into 2nd place. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dark Side Ilkay Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund) With his side 2-0 down at half time. Gundogan is the kind of player that team-mates look to, to rally the troops and get things turning around. Especially at home in front of 80,000 passionate fans. Tonight though, the German couldn't handle the heat as he was sent out of the kitchen with a little over an hour played. 2 yellows, a red, and no way back for the hosts. Chelsea cruised to victory in the end but it all could have been so different had this man kept his head in his sides time of need.
  6. Re: The Set-Up Turn 4 Preview Borussia Dortmund v Chelsea Both teams have had bad starts to the season and occupy 2 of the bottom 3 spots. Dortmund did win their last game though and with Chelsea having only scored once so far this season i'm edging towards the German side tonight. Key Players: Henrik Mkhitaryan (Dortmund) & Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) My Prediction: 2-0 Home Win Juventus v Manchester City Both these sides have struggled to find any real consistency in the opening stages on the season and will be looking to get going tonight. City have a full squad to choose from whilst the hosts have Chiellini out injured and that could prove decisive. Key Players: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) & Gonzalo Higuain (City) My Prediction: 1-1 Draw Bayern Munchen v Manchester United Going by the league table, this should be a formality. However at this early stage, anything can happen. Bayern have enjoyed a cracking start to the season with United laboring. I fancy another home win here tonight. Key Players: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern) & Robin Van Persie (United) My Prediction: 3-0 Bayern Win Atletico Madrid v Barcelona There's alot more than pride at stake tonight in the Spain Derby. Both sides have had relatively good starts to the season and both teams are playing very well. We could well see goals tonight. I expect Barca's class to shine through in the end. Key Players: Diego Costa (Madrid) & Thomas Muller (Barca) My Prediction: 3-1 Barca Win Paris Saint-Germain v Real Madrid This ones the fixture of the night for me. PSG and Real sit 3rd and 4th respectively and are both playing some cracking stuff right now. There's talent a plenty on show and this should be a real spectacle. Expect waves of attacking football and with both players a defender down (Howedes and Pepe, both suspended) it could be a case of 'we'll outscore you". Key Players: Ezequiel Lavezzi (PSG) & Kerim Benzema (Real) My Prediction: 3-2 PSG Win
  7. Re: The Set-Up Team of Turn 3 Manager of the Turn Taylor8 What a night for Mr. Taylor! Not many, including myself, gave him much of a chance going to the Bernabeu after his sides poor start to the season but he silenced all the doubters tonight. Dortmund didn't just match Madrid, but bettered them all over the park and left with alot more than just 3 points. Could this be the start of something special? We'll soon find out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dark Side Benedikt Howedes (Paris Saint-Germain) A bad night all round for the usually reliable German. He was given the run around by Messi for large parts of the match as he struggled to come to terms with his turn of pace and quick feet. His night was complete late on when he was sent off for a second booking after a tired tackle of Fabregas. PSG lost 3-1 at The Nou Camp.
  8. Re: The Set-Up We march on! Not the classiest of victories today but they all count! Especially away from home in here!
  9. Re: The Set-Up Turn 3 Preview Chelsea v Juventus Both sides have had indifferent starts to the season and will be looking for something to build on today. I can't see either side accepting defeat but will either step up and really go for the win? That could decide tonights outcome. Key Players: Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) & Luis Suarez (Juventus) My Prediction: 0-0 Manchester City v Bayern Munchen Bayern have started with three wins from 3 and City have lost their last two. That being said, expect a tight game at The Etihad tonight. Possession will be key, as will in-form strikers! Robben will miss the game through suspension. Key Players: David Silva (City) & Sergio Busquets (Bayern) My Prediction: 1-1 Manchester United v Atletico Madrid Both sides are without a win thus far and will both be desperate to get up and running. Both managers have a full squad to choose from and i'm expecting a high tempo game. Key Players: Wayne Rooney (United) & Carlos Tevez (Madrid) My Prediction: 2-0 United Win Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain Both teams are undefeated in league action so far and will want to keep it that way. PSG have been playing some fine football and Barca are masters in the art. Expecting an entertaining one tonight. Key Players: Mario Gotze (Barca) & Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG) My Prediction: 2-2 Draw Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund Madrid have started well and the visitors haven't really started at all. They'll struggle to get going tonight against against the fast flowing football of Real. I can only see one outcome here. Pepe is suspended for the hosts. Key Players: Xabi Alonso (Madrid) & Mats Hummels (Dortmund) My Prediction: 3-0 Madrid
  10. Re: The Set-Up First big dealings going on at Bayern with 3 in and 3 out! Report to follow in the next 24 hours.
  11. Re: The Set-Up Team of Turn 2 Manager of the Turn Noisy Easy choice tonight as Noisy's Madrid ran riot at Old Trafford. Inspired performances from the world's 2 most expensive players in Ronaldo and Bale saw Stephen's men chasing shadows for the majority of the night in Manchester. All this despite playing 85 minutes with 10 men after Pepe's early sending off! Goals came from Benzema, Ronaldo (2) and Bale. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Dark Side Ferreira Pepe (Real Madrid) Despite his side winning comfortably tonight, this man was the only choice to appear in this turn's hall of shame. The game was just 5 minutes old when Pepe, unprovoked, planted his elbow into the face of Robin Van Persie right in front of the referee. Not quite sure what he was thinking. Didn't fancy it tonight maybe? He was given his marching orders anyway and his team went on to excel.
  12. Re: The Set-Up I'll take Hazard off your hands?!
  13. Re: [ukfsc] fantasy world cup 2014 I'll go for Netherlands
  14. Re: The Set-Up Turn 2 Preview Juventus v Bayern Munchen Both sides come into the game having won impressively in their opening fixtures and the hosts will be looking to make the most of home advantage tonight. This has all the making of a good encounter but I can see it being a close game with few goals Key Players: Luis Suarez (Juve) & M.Gotze (Bayern) My Prediction: 1-1 Draw Chelsea v Atletico Madrid The bottom two meet at Stamford Bridge and will both be desperate to get their first points on the board. Lots of attacking talent will be on display so defences could have a huge say on the outcome. Could be goals in this one. Key Players: John Terry (Chelsea) & Diego Godin (Atletico) My Prediction: 3-2 Chelsea Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain The money-bags of world football come head to head and it'll no doubt be a game that everybody will be watching! Both sides won their openers and will be looking to keep that momentum going. Neither will hold back and i'm expecting and end to end affair. Key Players: Gonzalo Higuain (City) & Thiago Silva (PSG) My Prediction: 2-2 Draw Manchester United v Real Madrid A fixture that'll get everybody who loves football excited. The history of these 2 clubs is well known worldwide but it's all about the here and now and right now, Madrid have one of the greatest squads around. It'll take a big effort from the hosts to get the 3 points but at Old Trafford, anythings possible! Key Players: Juan Mata (United) & Gareth Bale (Madrid) My Prediction: 2-1 Madrid Barcelona v Borussia Dortmund Both clubs have started slowly but have undoubted class. I expect Barca to dominate possession as per usual tonight but Dortmund are super effective on the break and will fancy their chances against the Messi and Co. Key Players: Andres Iniesta (Barca) & Radamel Falcao (Dortmund) My Prediction: 1-1 Draw
  15. Re: The Set-Up A Mandzukic hat-trick and a late Balotelli winner give us the perfect start to our European campaign.
  16. Re: The Set-Up Team of Turn 1 Manager of the Turn Ashtini Ash's boys did the business tonight and saw off a spirited Atletico side in a 6 goal thriller. Nasri and Higuain ran the show with a large chunk of help coming via Nastasic. It's the perfect start for City and they'll be high on confidence going into their next game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dark Side Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona) In the biggest spectacle in world football there is often heros and always villains. Cesc was the latter tonight. 2 tackles on Bale and Modric in the opening 15 minutes brought him 2 yellows and put his sides backs against the wall for the remainder of the match. They excelled without him but that will do little to lift the weight off of the Spanish playmakers shoulders and with the glut of talent at the managers disposal, could Fabregas have ruined his chance to stamp down a starting place?
  17. Re: The Set-Up Pip's Chelsea swept aside with ease tonight. 3-0 with goals from Muller, Gotze and Robben. Juventus are our next victims.
  18. Re: The Set-Up Match Previews Borussia Dortmund v Juventus Niall will want to get the home fans on his side straight from the off so i'm expecting to see an attacking line-up but if any team is capable of seeing them off then its Juventus. Their midfield is widely regarded as one of the strongest in world football right now. HD won't won't to give much away early on to the German side and i predict a low scoring match here ending in a draw, which I imagine both sides would be relatively happy with. Key Players: Marco Reus (Dortmund) & Arturo Vidal (Juventus) Prediction: 1-1 Bayern Munchen v Chelsea Another German side kicking off on home soil and Bayern will be expecting to take home 3 points tonight. No wholesale changes from last seasons line-up's expected from either side. I'd expect Chelsea to play on the counter tonight and we could see another low scoring game with the odd goal nicking it. Key Players: Franck Ribery (Bayern) & Nemanja Matic (Chelsea) Prediction: 1-0 Bayern Win Atletico Madrid v Manchester City I'm expecting fireworks in this one. Two teams that are high on confidence and looking to impress. Biz and Ash may well be the best two managers in this set-up (according to themselves) and they'll be looking to out do each other here. This one could come down to 'We'll score more than you". Key Players: Diego Costa (Atletico) & Yaya Toure (City) Prediction: 3-2 Atletico Win Paris Saint-Germain v Manchester United A tasty looking fixture this. PSG continue to build whilst the visitors are in a 'transitional phase'. The two teams are both very difficult to predict so i'm struggling to call this one. If they both perform then I'd guess at a draw but with the French crowd behind them, I can see Jono's men having a little bit too much for United's backline. Key Players: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG) & Wayne Rooney (United) Prediction: 2-0 PSG Win Real Madrid v Barcelona WOW!! What a way to get this season started. The first classico see's two of the set-up's biggest rivals in Preppens and Noisy go head to head. These are always impossible to call but will bee certainly worth the watch. It's much more than Messi v Ronaldo now! Bale v Neymar is the undercard that's got everybody talking but will we see an unlikely hero at the Bernabeu tonight? Key Players: Cristiano Ronaldo (Madrid) & Lionel Messi (Barca) Prediction: 2-2 Draw
  19. Re: The Set-Up Looking forward to it HD! Bayern are on the prowl. Locked onto a few targets and launched a few bids, none to be named as of yet though. Full list of Bayern players available will be up today/tomorrow. Feel free to sniff around until then though.
  20. Re: The Set-Up Actually, scratch that. Just seen how close the first match is. Bidding will open as soon as Stephen is in!
  21. Re: The Set-Up Right just to get things going. The external market will open at 7AM tomorrow. Only stipulation is no bidding on players from Hoffenheim or Monaco until Stephen's draft pick deals go through. I'll be doing a write up on my side over the next few days and i hope to see a few more things flying around the thread! Will also be giving an update on Bayern's transfer policy/who will be available.
  22. Re: The Set-Up I think it was because he wants to play for a good manager.
  23. Re: The Class of '92. I wouldn't start with empty squads tbh. Has to be all or none. Pretty sure they'll just sign at random too. Not been many successful setups that have started with empty squads to my knowledge. Especially one's of this size. I'd say just be patient with it and try to get as many names down as possible as decide the specifics after that. Sure there will be a fair bit of interest as it's a good concept.
