  1. Re: The Basement I understand your point but I think Internal transfers only make sense only at the start of a season. Realistically no one will sell a high rated player in the middle of the season. So internal transfers in the 2nd window will most probably be a market of backup players only. This means it is denying some managers the chance to improve their teams, either by buying high rated players or buying future risers from externals. There is always a possibility to still make Internal transfer, if a manager really wants to buy someone and make an offer that can't be refused
  2. Re: .:10000 bc:. Even in games Schalke dominate with more possession and more than double the shots of their opponents, they only manage a draw. The reason being none other than the legendary GK Iker Casillas. It is always hard to score against a Saint, especially when he puts in a Man of the Match performance. Schalke remain in 11th place with 6 points from 7 games.
  3. Re: The Barclays Premier League U21 Championship In their first defeat of the season, Fulham slumped to a 2 - 1 defeat to Manchester City in their Division 1 fixture. Although they had more scoring chances than their opponents, they only managed to score once while conceding a late 85th minute goal. It seems the injury of 2 of their main defenders is starting to take effect. Fulham remain in top position, but only 1 point separate them from 2nd place Norwich City who managed to beat last season's champions Queens Park Rangers away from home.
  4. Re: Australasian ICON (The ICON Games) TURKEY (2) - IRAN (2) In a frustrating result, Turkey drop 2 valuable points in their home game against Iran. Turkey dominated possession and shots but only managed a draw in a dramatic fashion. Up till the 75th minute, the Red Devils were up 2-0 then Iran scored their first goal. In the 85th minute, Turkey manage to score a third goal but it was wiped out for offside. Then came the 89th minute were Iran silenced the crowd with their equalizer. Football can be cruel like that. In other results, Japan closed the gap with Turkey to only 3 points af
  5. Re: The Basement 1. Working in IT, we have a golden rule that is "don't fix it if it is not broken." Don't see anything 'broken' with the 3 player limit, so my vote is Keep it 3. 2. The problem with internal transfers only is that usually no one tend to 'sell' and everybody tends to 'buy' which results in no transfers in the end. Let's keep the door open for both, so my vote is Keep both Internal + External. 3. Although player exchange exists in real life, it is handled very poorly in SM. A cash only GW is always more challenging financial wise, so my vote is to Keep it cash only.
  6. Re: transfers| managed or unmanaged The contrast was surprising for me. Since the original request is to make things 'easier', why chose a compact font in a small size and a grey/green color that make it 'harder' to read. Anyway.
  7. Re: transfers| managed or unmanaged @dai smout If you are asking for an 'easy to search' feature in-game, why are you using such a 'hard to read' font on the forum?
  8. Re: Liga BBVA Ratings 2012/2013 Celta did a good job on the last day and beat Espanyol and Real Sociedad beat Deportivo. In that case Zaragoza and Mallorca results did not matter. Only EL for Soldado and so don't think he will rise. In fact Negredo this season is better and the one to deserve to rise.
  9. Re: .:10000 bc:. You will be surprised at how hard it is to have a run of losing games. It is as hard as having a run of winning games. I know because I tried. The only condition is to choose your best rated 11 players on the field at all times. Try it and see' date=' but please try it in a standard public GW where you have no friends. Not going to help me at all You saw the game yourself. I scored all 5 goals, 4 by my attackers and 1 by my defender in his own goal. My Defenders all getting rates 5 and 6 and attackers all getting rates 8 and 9. This is the story of Schalke this seas

  13. Re: .:10000 bc:. Accepted. Let's make this more interesting (at least for me ): Aim for highest goals total possible?
  14. Re: .:10000 bc:. Not really! 1. Although Schalke's average rating is high (87)' date=' my starting XI average rating (the important one) is not as high as say Napoli's or Inter's who have lower team averages (84). Reason is too many 'average' subs (87s/88s). It is always better to have good starting XI and bad subs than having all 'average' squad. 2. Unbalanced team since all my 90+ players were attackers and all defender were 88 and less. Signed 1 midfielder who is 90 and 1 defender who is 89 with PEs because of shortage of money. Result: not a single clean sheet and 3 loses with 1 goal
  15. Re: Counter formations From my observations: Only use 'Offside Trap' with 'Attacking' mentality as it implies the defensive line moving forward with a high line. Also 'Press All Over' is a good call with both. 'Men Behind Ball' means all 10 players will fall back 'behind' the ball to their own half and leave their opponent in possession in their own half. So, it doesn't make sense to use it with 'Press All Over' or 'Offside Trap' for example. Only use 'Very Defensive' or 'Very Attacking' in a 75 minute change in very important matches (and usually Cup games not League) because it is very
  16. Re: .:10000 bc:. Well' date=' here you go. My third 'losing' report :( Schalke are officially my worst team now. [img']http://i.imgur.com/r0k2B9c.jpg[/img] Another good game plan and another decent performance that end in a lose. No one getting less than 7 match rating and creating more scoring chances was not enough to even earn a draw. We lose in the 87th minute. Schalke in 11th position with 5 point from 6 games.
  17. Re: The Barclays Premier League U21 Championship With a surprising high score, Fulham beat Wigan Athletic 4 - 1 in their Division 1 fixture. New signing Casnos keeps proving his worth, with the opening goal and Man of the Match award. Fulham are now 4 point away from West Ham United and Norwich City at the top of the table. They face Manchester City away from home next.
  18. Re: Australasian ICON (The ICON Games) JAPAN (1) - TURKEY (3) Turkey record a very crucial win over Japan away from home. They remained confident with their tactical choices and had a convincing win. The Red Devils showed their intent from the very start as they scored 2 goals in the opening 15 minutes of the game. Japan decreased their lead by 1 goal at the start of the second half but the Red Devils were determined to secure their win and scored a third. Turkey now have a 5 point lead over Japan with only 4 games remaining. In another big result that plays to the favor of Turkey, Aus
  19. Re: New Finances (Loans / Contracts) It will not 'kill off' your club. It will force you to do some scouting work to choose maybe 50 of your players to keep (the most promising ones, the ones who would get the big rises in the future) and sell off the rest. If you do good with that then you keep your club at break even point and also have several big risers for sale to raise money for future investment (or to take part in your starting XI and sell the old players).
  20. Re: SM Credits Flow OR Maybe SM could sponsor this idea of Venk's GW and provide the 'virtual' credit to the GW Owner to be distributed on to the club owners in-game. It will be like a marketing expense, maybe even brand it as the Elite SM GW. This way, they don't really need to change any rules about the flow of credit between accounts. If it makes it easier to manage, SM can ask the Owner to have a dedicated account for this setup only, where he has all the credit provided by SM. If needed, all participants in this GW could be asked to have dedicated accounts (Owners and managers can have
  21. Re: The ICON Games - World News Any news about the unmanaged clubs situation? How many unmanaged clubs are there in each sector and is there a shortlist for interested managers to fill these empty places? And after the last posts here, it there managers who are going to leave after season 1 ends? Sorry, too many questions. I just like this setup the best

  23. Re: The ICON Games - World News Now 2 managers leave the Australasian ICON setup and their teams are unmanaged. They didn't say the reason of leaving in-game or in the forum thread (not even goodbye or see you later!) Not sure if there would be managers to replace them as there is only 5 games left in the first season and both teams are in the bottom half of the table (maybe explain why their managers left). Is there other situations like this in other ICON sectors? If so, it would be a good idea to start looking for interested managers to take over the unmanaged teams early before the new
