    The Official Manchester City Thread

Hello and Welcome to the Official Manchester City thread. As we near closer and closer to the begining of the 2009/2010 season, many critics alike are making their views and opinions known that Manchester City with their vast amounts, of endless money could launch a serious challenge for a European place, and challenge teams within the Top 5. I feel personally that, this is something that i feel should be glorified for all SM Members who are Manchester City fans, and a thread of this type would not only allow forum members, but other SM Members to contribute, and admire the effort and posts that are going to be put in place by people reporting on this thread. I've discussed the situation with the old-thread, but i feel to suit the phrase, 'The Future's Bright...The Future's City', it would be best to start fresh and report from this season onwards. The old thread is in the process of deletion.
The way the thread is going to work is that there are going to be many reporters, who will post regularly and report any news to do with Manchester City. This could be Team News, Post Macth Analysis, Transfer Talk and more. It will become apparent within the next few days as news is posted, as to who are the reporters. However, i encourage highly that other SM Forum Members who support other teams, who are possibly playing Man City or you feel that you want to discuss anything, please, please post on the thread. Please do not get put off by the fact that it's mainly all about MCFC, with MCFC fans posting all the time as it isn't and i don't want it to function in this way. Anyway thank you for your time, if your still reading this and enjoy the thread. I'll end with a familiar quote, i like to use: The Future's Bright, The Future's MCFC

Brilliant job on the predictiosn mate!
I like the fact you called my last result the game of the round
Also i'd like to say this setup is brilliant. Some of the threads i've been reading with individual team reports are so good, and i just wish i had the team to report about my Hayes & Yeading! It's been such a good challenge so far and i'm really glad i joined.
Who else like myself has been forced to implement some kind of Mancini link squad rotation due to 3 games a week? Haha

    Eminem - Musical Genius

Marshall Mathers. Stan. The Real Slim Shady. Eminem.
In a career spanning over 14 years, Eminem is back with his latest album Relapse. From a very early age, after hearing a selection of tracks of his 'Marshall Mathers LP' i have followed Eminem's progress and i thought it was about time a discussion was started on the musical genius that is Eminem. Eminem is undoubtedly one of the most criticised, yet praised and honoured artists of the last 10-15 years. His music is produced and composed in a way which can base it's content on serious issues relating to death, drug use and personal relationships to songs which have a very funny, and slight disturbing feel to them. Nevertheless one thing that Eminem does in all his songs, is tell a story. A story especially in the serious songs on serious issues relating to his own life, and teaching the public on his past experiences. This one reason why i respect a man of his calibre to come out in the public, and ot just tell the public his ordeal, but to rap in a way and better himself from his previous life and experience.

After growing up in the hard times of racism and supremacy, and the rise of R&B and Rap movement in the US, Eminem strived to be a music artist, and was given a life-time opportunity of that being to work and produce music with Dr.Dre, and to this day he still works with, including his latest album Relapse. Eminem had worked with Dre from 1995, when his career was launched, but the public and popularity began to grow from 2001 when his major, first album was released. The Marshall Mathers LP featuring such tracks as Stan, The Real Slim Shady,The Way I Am and Kill You, it went on to sell a total of 1.76 Million copies in it's first week in 2001. This is the real starting point of Eminem's music career, and this album alone established him as a major figure in the world of R&B and Hip Hop. Eminem then spent time on his major 2nd album, and between 2002/2003 he released 'The Eminem Show'. The Eminem Show, reflectes on the impact of his rise to fame, his relationship with his wife and daughter, and his status in the hip-hop community, with the popular tracks being Without Me & Cleaning Out My Closet, with both songs contrasting the ideas of humour, and serious matters/relationships with his mother.

By this time, Eminem was becoming more of an icon than ever before. Reviews were either very good, or very bad on his live peformances with many aspects of the media criticising his live peformances and the themes he displayed in them, aimed at teenagers, and others. Eminem seemed to glamourise the idea of bad language, and violence causing many countries, to beware of what he had in stall for his live peformances. But none of this affected Slim Shady and he went on to star a main role, and compose in my opinion one of the most well-written songs of the last 20 years, 'Lose Yourself' for the film 8 Mile, in 2004. It's believed that the story in 8 Mile along with many of Eminem's songs is based on his own life, and his struggle growing up and becoming the person he is in the USA. Then in late 2004, he created and launched his third major album, 'Encore' playing centre stage to many songs which feature on his greatest hit's album Curtain Call - Like Toy Soldiers, Just Lose It, Encore & Mockingbird. After this album, he announced to the world that he was going to have a break from music, and in 2006 Curtain Call - The Greatest Hits was announced, causing a debate over his future and whether he would continue to do what he's best at, Music.

So after Eminem's Greatest Hits was released, many stories circulated the internet saying where he was, but to tell the truth nobody really knew. Then late last year, 2008, reports online from the USA suggested Slim Shady was on his way back. This was great news to anybody, including myself, and his comeback was announced in early 2009, with Eminem announcing he was to release his new album Relapse in May 2009 officially. However, many unnoficial leaked versions started to become available on the internet. It wasn't then until March 2009 when we heard from Eminem when he released the first track off Relapse - Crack A Bottle featuring Dr.Dre and 50 Cent. Crack A Bottle recieved good reviews worldwide making it into the Top 10 of the UK Charts and the US charts. These good reviews led to the mass leak of tracks by Slim Shady himself, with We Made You which takes you back to the humorous side of Eminem basing it's content on figures worldwide, ranging from celebs, to politicians. Other songs off Relapse have also been released such as 3AM, For Old Times Sake, Bagpipes from Baghdad and my personal favourite - Beautiful, which is bound to be a massive hit.

So this concludes my basic biography on the self-proclaimed artist which is Eminem. Listening to his music is poetry in motion, and most of his music has inspired many worldwide helping them in situations similar to those discussed in his songs, to generally just living life to the full. With Relapse 2 planned for later on this year, i seriously cannot wait to see what the future holds for Eminem. With many tracks of the quality he has produced, it's proven that he has the quality and potential to make even more, and watch this space. Finally, Eminem produces music which anyone, no matter what music they usually listen to, can possibly relate to, and enjoy. So...Guess who's back? Back Again...

A few words for fans of opposite clubs after we get beat. Come on here, have your banter, take the mickey as much as you want to, but don't be getting all stressed at us when we do it. All of you are wind up merchants, and tbh i'm fairly confident about city this season, we'll get the last laugh.
    So for now, zip it.

Well thanks for your advice haha, but i've previously posted on here and found it quite friendly. I like your signatures, keep making them and you'll notice a progression in your designs. Thats the only advice or help i could offer you. Ignore it if nobody gives you comments they're either a) jealous or looking at your work and maybe not commenting. It's fine though they'll see it and thats what the aim is. So keep designing and don't worry pal.

DALE147 & Mr.MCFC are uniting to offer a much-needed revamp to the Graphics section of this forum. Gone are the days of .Fabregas and Cwnshnk Caveman designing on this forum, and as a veteran graphics designer off this very forum, my services are back on offer in creating quick match report banners or the conventional signature for a short period of time. As for Dale147, his work may be improving by the day but the potential is there for a great portfolio of graphics work, and he's learning by the day. What we offer is either signatures or match-report banners, but signatures can't be promised in quick succession. You want one. You post on this thread. Simples.

Hey guys, first proper post on here in a long time. Firstly i'd like to say thanks for the blues faithful as well as fans from other clubs, especially to the regular contributors (you know who you are) it's much appreciated and signs that there is always something to be talking about, in regard to Man City. City in my opinion are bigger than ever, not just financially but in the media, and this season i'm absolutely certain we will be on the pitch. I'm very confident about the new season and i think City will re-sussitate the Blue Revolution who's foundations was set last season, and heres my prediction of the season ahead, please feel free to post yours even if your not a city fan, how do you think the blues will fare this season?
    League: 3rd
    Europa League: Final
    League Cup: Final
    FA Cup: Semi-Final
Personally it may look like i'm over anticipating City's peformance, but more than ever i've got a feeling we can really push in all competitions. We've got the squad, the manager and the fans to do it, and theres no reason why we cant end this 34 year trophy drought. As for transfers i'm fairly satisfied at the moment, however i'd like some clarification over Yaya Toure's wages, as well as De Jongs future which has been reported locally that based on tonights game and re-assessment of his peformances whether he'll stay or not. Personally i'd rather see Barry go and keep De Jong as he's been an absolute servant to City in the past season and a half he's been at the club. I'd like to see a couple more additions, including a certain striker currently residing at Wolfsburg aswell as somebody like Luiz. Then i'll be an ever happier city fan.
To finish, i'll end on a slightly sad note for me. I think i must be the only blue slightly dissapointed at the way Bojinov faired at City. I still think if he'd have been match fit he would have been ready to really make a mark in the Premier League and i'm sad to see him go. I'll always remember him for the spectacular pre-season goal against AC Milan, a game at which i was in attendance of, and best of luck at Parma.
P.S - I work at Man City now for the catering staff :} ahaha
    Adios.

Just a message to City fans, don't embarass us as a club. It's dissapointing, gut-wrenching if that, quite frankly a bad night for city, but onwards and upwards. In Mancini we trust, before anyone starts any of this Mancini Out talk.
If your a true blue regardless of the result, your CTID. Let the Utd, Scouse etc fans come and have their fun, we'll do the same in a few years time.

    I think it's fair to say. TIMES ARE CHANGING. The pendulum is slowly swinging over to the blue side of manchester. The fact they won't be european cup holders this year, will make the red side of stretford less interesting to join, and if we can nab fourth place, we could be a real threat. I'm loving this :}
