  1. Re: nigel de jong or alberta zapater Zapater still plays for Zaragoza who dropped down a division last season so i expect his rating to drop. For that reason alone I'd go for De Jong.
  2. Re: Gold Championship 18 Match Reports / Transfers Thread Sporting Gijón 0-3 Espanyol Comfortable win for my Espanyol, 2 goals from an on form Albert Riera and 1 from Raúl Tamudo who filled in for unfit Luis Garcia. Keeps me 5 points clear so I'm happy. Good times could come to a halt however as i will be missing both Daniel Jarque (injury) and Zabaleta (Suspension) for the next 3 games (2 league, 1 cup). Time for some of my B team to step up and prove themselves. Play Osasuna in the league next. Proper report coming tomorrow.
  3. Re: Gold 26 Discussion Horrible speeds today, grabbed Sampdoria. I like a challenge. Put my name down for the friendly comp
  4. Re: Gold Championship 18 Match Reports / Transfers Thread Málaga 1-2 Espanyol Luis Garcia and Riera celebrate after the 2nd goal. Two early goals from Fernández Luis Garcia (3) and Albert Riera (4) kept the 8 game winning streak going for Espanyol. Emmanuel Eboue scored for Málaga on the 23rd minute but Espanyol kept their lead to win the match. This win puts Espanyol 5 points clear of Real Madrid who managed to take 2nd place after a slip-up by Sevilla. Riera will miss the Shield game on Monday due to suspension but he will be back to face Real Betis midweek in the league. I might do a more detailed report tomorrow.
  5. Re: Gold Championship 18 Match Reports / Transfers Thread ESPANYOL NEWS Atlético Madrid 2-4 Espanyol Albert Riera pictured celebrating his second goal. Espanyol stretched their winning streak to 7 games last night with an important win over then 2nd placed Atlético Madrid. This win puts Espanyol 4 points in front of Sevilla, who have taken over 2nd position after their win an 8 goal thriller against Numancia. This game wasn't short on goals either with the final score being 4-2. Madrid started as the better team with Ricardo Oliveira coming close on the 4th minute but Espanyol turned things around when Paulo Zabaleta struck the ball into the top corner of the net, giving them an early lead with 9 minutes gone. Espanyol did not let up either, with Albert Riera hitting the post just 2 minutes later. Madrid tried their best to fight back and Da Silva Paulo Assuncao had perhaps the best chance of the game at the 21st minute mark when he looked certain to score after a blunder by Espanyol keeper Kameni left Assuncao with a clear chance at goal, only for him to blast it wide. Moments later Sergio Aguero had a shot cleared off the line and wasted another good chance when he missed an easy tap in. Hernan Crespo showed his brilliance at the 37th minute mark when he volleyed a long ball into the Madrid net to increase Espanyol's lead to 2-0. The goals kept coming from Espanyol as Albert Riera headed home just before half time to make the score 3-0. Riera continued to play well in the second half and made it an unbelievable 4-0 to Espanyol on the 52nd minute when he took the ball past two defenders and slotted home a great solo effort. Espanyol sat back and tried to maintain their lead after that and they were successful up until the 64th minute when a defensive error allowed Ricardo Quaresma to score Madrid's 1st goal of the match. Espanyol continued to hold onto their 4-1 lead for most of the game up until the 89th minute when a dangerous corner was whipped which allowed Fuente Sergio Garcia to nod the ball home making it 4-2 just before the final whistle. Marc Hasemore showed his delight at his team's performance throughout the match and told press after the match that his side fear no-one. Up next for Espanyol is Malaga who are struggling in 19th place.
  6. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Should I trade Ezequiel Lavezzi + Julien Escude for Filipe Joao Moutinho? My team: http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?p=387622#post387622
  7. Re: Rate My Team Thread Looks like quite a good team' date=' I'd try and get another striker in if possible. This is my Man Utd in one of my setups, youth included. I normally play a 3-5-2. [img']http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3330/locteamnd5.png[/img] EDIT: Forgot to add loaned out players: Mamadou Sakho Marek Hamsik Soares Renato Augusto
  8. Re: The newspaper feature I agree this should happen. I used to use the newspaper before but it becomes pointless when there's only a few people within a setup who would also write stuff. Showing new stories on the setup news feed would be a great way of getting more people to take notice and join in.
  9. Re: Gold Championship 18 Match Reports / Transfers Thread ESPANYOL NEWS Espanyol 5-1 Athletic Bilbao Iván De La Pena celebrates after another brilliant performance Espanyol continued their great form with an impressive showing against Athletic Bilbao, winning 5-1. Goals came from López Rocha Valdo, Hernan Crespo and Iván De La Pena who scored a hat-trick. This win keeps Espanyol at the top of the table, 2 points ahead of Atlético Madrid who they play on Wednesday. "I am very happy with the way my team have been playing in recent weeks." said Espanyol manager Marc Hasemore. "Nobody would have predicted Espanyol to be top of the table at this stage of the season. If my players continue to perform they way they have been then i see no reason why we can't go on and win the title. Our next league game against 2nd placed Atlético Madrid will be a tough one and we need to get a good result to stay ahead of the pack. I think we can do it."
  10. Re: condition Yep, same thing here, hopefully they can sort it before tonight, most of my games are tonight.

  13. Re: New Gold Champ Now! Bit extreme eh? lol, I think he's done it with most teams though, check Bayern.
  14. Re: New Gold Champ Now! OK, wonder what SM will do about it. Theres a bug in the german league. 4 teams with the same name, 2 in div 1, 2 in div 2.
  15. Re: New Gold Champ Now! This is good though isn't it. My bro told me about it, he's Bayern Munich and nows the first time he's been able to get a good club in a GC so SM have achieved their goal of making things fair at the start of a new GC.
  16. Re: New Gold Champ Now! No problem, I'm not in the setup myself, just thought i'd post it up to let y'all know. Very secretive of SM eh? Well played SM!
  17. A new GC is up now people! Look at the list, only 10 teams taken at the moment!
  18. Re: Gold Championship 18 Match Reports / Transfers Thread Match Report VS. Espanyol got off to a good start under the new management of Marc Hasemore as they beat Valladoid with a 2-0 win. Two late goals from Daniel Jarque (73) and Luis Garcia (79) won Espanyol the match. New signing Crespo got Man of the Match despite not scoring.
  19. Re: Gold Championship 18 Discussions Thread Bagged Espanyol, which I'm quite happy with.
