  1. Re: Available GC Teams (This is NOT a Discussion Thread)

I'll be giving up my last team when Gold Membership runs out in the new year. I have let all my others just run out through not logging in but have kept this one as it was my favorite being difficult to build a small club to this level in a GC

    Numancia GC 12

I can't remember how to link to a club but it has..

    2 x 92

    7 x 91

    5 x 90

    7 x 89

    17 x 88

& loads of other younger players which I can't remember if they are decent talents or not anymore as I fell out of love with this game long ago and have not really been paying attention to it. (This is not the thread to go into reasons why but people who have been playing the game a while will probably understand what I mean about the 'improvements' over the last few years to socc£rmanag£r)

My gold membership has run out so this is me finished.

Im hoping some good manager gets them and the club does not get massacred within days after years of me building it.

Anyway thats me done. Goodbye soccermanager. You used to be a good game.

  3. Re: Riferimento: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

I HAVN'T seen a lot of Bernard other than for brazil' date=' so ask in the brazil forum about him.

However, the second srna and honda deal is fair, and in keeping with your stategy for GC. Bear in mind neither honda or srna will rise and bernard will. Willian looks like a real good offer though.[/quote']

    Ok thanks.

Anymore opinions? I am still not sure what to do?

Shall I accept Willian? Honda & Srna ? or hold Bernard?

  4. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

    How good is Duarte Bernard?

I have received 2 transfer offers for him in an early GC.

First one is straight swap for Willian 91

Second one is for Srna 91 + Honda 90

I have got a starting XI of 90 to 92 rated players which I have made by trading youth for higher rated older players. But now I have the 90+ team I am not sure what to do?

  5. Re: New Finances (Loans / Contracts)

Said this on a post before' date=' But I don't think anyone really took much notice of my post when I proposed a potential solution to the ignoring of transfer offers in game worlds.

    Solution

48 After a offer has been made for a player, a transfer embargo should be placed on the manager who owns the player,

For example I make an offer of £15 million for Jack Wilshere

    48 hours later no response...

When the manager who owns Wilshere decides to make a transfer offer for any other player in the game world, a red error should come.

'The Chairman will not allow you to make an offer for this player until bids have been resolved for one of your players'

This would prompt the manager to go to the original offer he was made, and either accept or decline it, so he can proceed to make his deals in the transfer market.

This resolves the issue of Manager's who ignores bids, as it prompts a manage in a place to make a decision on a transfer bid, and this removes the idea of prolonged ignoring transfer bids while also protecting the managers assets as he simply can make any decision regarding the transfer offer, but most importantly this new improvment gets the manager to make a decision which is very important in a game world ![/quote']

I dont reply to bids unless they are at least nearly good enough and then in that case I will counter. Of course if they are good enough and i need the player or cash they are offering then i will accept.

most often bids are silly, unacceptable or embarrassing and they come that often that I just ignore.

before you make a bid just think to yourself would you accept if you was on the receiving end of the bid? And I think if you are being ignored all the time the answer will be no

  6. Re: New Finances (Loans / Contracts)

Final nial in the coffin for me.

Couple of years ago I was managing around 20 clubs. After years of what socc£rmanag£r describe as 'improvements to the game i have slowly removed clubs as they have become less fun to manage. Today I manage just 5 all in gold championships. Triestina, numancia, Barcelona, forest and a kiev.

The smaller teams I have are gonna be screwed by this with gates below 20000. They were the teams I enjoyed the most but my numancia is already 3.5m in the red and I only found out why by logging onto the forum to see if their has been a bug or something!

Was struggling to justify renewal of gold anyway but if my teams are going to be destroyed anyway then that is decision made and goodbye

  7. Re: Bulgaria 2012 - Best risers from top 5 clubs.

Beyond ridiculous!!!..Good I'm not ponying up for that wretched gold membership.

Yep me too. I have definitely finished this year, the ratings are beyond a joke nowdays.

Its ridiculous that he only got +1. He has been a first team player for two seasons and only missed the last 6 games because of injury.

It's probably because not enough school kids have voted him for a rise on soccerwiki as they are spending all their time trying to get varane's rating increased for the tenth time this week.

  8. Re: From minnow to macho ; a thread for little boys becoming big boys

Not updated for a while, its been hard to do in an old Gold Championship but managed to finally get the last piece of the jigsaw to make the whole starting XI 90 + at last. :)

    Numancia GC 12

    Arbeloa 91 Barzagli 91 Godin 91

I have never understood the obsession with Youth players in this game and have used their overatedness to my advantage by trading them for higher rated players to build this team (and others). There has been hardly any youth players that I regret trading

This team is the only reason I still play Soccer Manager after losing interest many daft game 'improvements' / silly changes ago.

  9. Re: Riferimento: Second Division risers from the big leagues

What about Jeremy Perbet (84) ?

He scored twice on his first game and maybe deserved +2 in the latest review.

Also scored 12 in 21 appearances with RAEC this year

Due to rating caps (they do exist even though SM deny they do) it is almost impossible for a 2nd division player to get more than 85. It has happened in the past but very very rare. I think the only player I can remember getting more than 85 in the 2nd divsion is joe Ledley; although there are a couple more I think

  14. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........

The leagues section has now been removed from player changes' date=' so there we have it, SM are no longer telling us what league they are reviewing and when.:( I'd love to know the reason for this.[/quote']

Who/How do we contact someone from SM to explain the reasons for their decision on removing this feature of the game? Or is there no customer service to contact?

  15. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed?

if thats the case' date=' it would be just bad imo...

Its not even about knwing asap to snap up the big risers, but removing the tab with all the risers and drops is really bad imo.

I mean i always checked that out to see who dropped and who raised, and a couple of time i even bought a couple of players i didnt even know but that rose to 87/88.

Removing this tab, is possibly the worst decision SM has made.[/quote']

The only reason I can see is that letting people know what is going on with the ratings takes (a little!) of SM time and does not make money and they'd rather spend their time making silly additions to the game like these stupid scout reports to try make more money from the game player

  16. Re: The Fluffy Ligue 1 Thread

Will Montpellier still get rises for being league champions?

Normally you would expect a starting 11 rated mostly 87-89 get at least +1s throughout for winning the league. But as they dont seem to have started so good and are struggling in the champions league are any of their players still guaranteed a rise?

  17. Re: Whats the longest youve stayed at a club?

    754 games for me.

I was sad to say goodbye but the player concerns were getting out of hand and I could not bare to watch SM rip my team and years of work apart. So I left :(

Longest present is only 549. Player concerns are not too bad at the moment but when the rot eventually sets in I will be saying goodbye to this club too :(

  18. Re: Player concerns system

Both these statements are plain wrong! Experienced managers are leaving in droves and newbies that replace them only tend to stay around for a few weeks. When my gold membership expires I will not be renewing it - which means I'll leave seven of the setups I'm currently in - after nearly six years.

The system is poorly conceived' date=' poorly executed and will be the ruination of the game. I, for one, have had enough and have better things to do with my time.[/quote']

Same here. Gold membership is up for renewal in just under 4 weeks. I am not renewing. I am a long term playing manager. When I started playing there was only a handful of gameworlds but they were all pretty full. Now there are hundreds of thousands of empty gameworlds. I am always loyal to a club and stay in a gameworld for the long duration, usually until the gameworld dies from all the other people leaving to manage ready built teams giving instant success (barcelona, bayern munich, etc).

I have already reduced from 17 teams to 15, soon to 11 when my 28 day log in expires, then to only about 3 or 4 when gold runs out and takes my gold game world teams off of me. This is because I dont wish to see years of work destroyed by the player concerns system. I will be very sad to see a few teams go. Mainly the ones that I have took from being minnows into title winners.

I can see me losing interest in the remaining 3 or 4 teams I will have left as soon as the concerns rot sets in with those and I will not be replacing them. I don't have the time nor do I want to be wasting the time I have for SM doing so to work out what players require gametime to bring them over the % of games required to keep them happy. Its not fun, its not entertaining, its just a chore and its not how I wish to spend my leisure time.

Oh well, I am getting too old for this game anyway. I started playing in my early 20's and this year I turned 30. I have enjoyed playing and I think I am one of the best managers in the game, especially at building a team from a small club into one of the best in the game world. Shame but I will soon be saying my goodbyes.

I really don't understand what your problem is.

Looking at your profile you dont manage small clubs so therefore you don't know the requirements and difficulties involved and how to overcome them. You never have to buy as many risers as you can, not only to build a team to go up the leagues and eventually get to your Chelsea/Arsenal/Milan, etc but to survive.

There is only me, Notts County, Peterbrough and possibly at a push PNE that are managed in this game world that I would class as a small club. All the rest had managers that are long gone. Probably because the vacated manager does not know how to or have the patience to build a small club and want the instant success a Manchester club, Bayern Munich or a Spanish Giant brings.

For every 90+ player I want to buy I need to find about 5 or 6 risers to fund the purchase then another 2or3 a season just to cover the new signings wages!

I enjoy the challenge of turning a minnow into a giant and buying and selling as many risers as possible is the only way to do it. Sorry if you don't like it but thats the way it is.

Can't see us ever agreeing on what the definition of a player hogger is (to me its someone taking every talent and star player, not someone looking to buy and sell to make money to progress) so I'm done in this arguement. :) Good Luck with your team :)

I'm sorry but you don't need 76 players' date=' that's what we call player hogging.[/quote']

Player hogging is when you hoard all the top players. 25 I have are below 74! I only have 16 above 85 of which only 5 are 90 +. Hardly hogging players people want. They will be sold as soon as Soccer Manager can be bothered to review their leagues

At the moment I can't even put out a competitive cup team!

I know how to successfully manage a small team and turn them into one of the best in the set up. This is the only way.
