  1. Re: The Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread

Spurs are clearly building a quality side but are none of the Spurs fans concerned they've only brought in one out and out striker? Clearly gonna play with only one up top but that leaves you with only Defoe as back up...

Surely some of those mega bucks could have been spent on another striker....

BTW is ADEBEYOR even at your club anymore? ;)

  2. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

From this thread and the Spurs one' date=' we get that you find it annoying, but you are starting to sound a bit too obsessed mate.

Chelsea football club is what it is, everyone knows it, just like Man City and the sheiks, and Man Utd fans, they are what that are - I think its time to let it be dude.[/quote']

Fair enough...I'll find another bone to chew on :o

  3. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

This is for Dougie; the other 1st team wingers we had when Shaun signed were Robben and Duff (you could count Geremi as one but he's a "utility man" and was mainly used at right back). So no' date=' we don't buy players that we don't need so others can't. Just out of curiosity, who do you support?[/quote']

    Leeds Utd....

Still, you must admit Chelsea have wasted a lot of money - whatever the motivation for it. There have been times when it has looked to me that they have bought someone just to stop them going to a rival...but of course this would be a stupid way to run a football club....

  4. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

I'm pretty sure that it was £21 million' date=' yeah... we didn't need him, he was partially signed so others couldn't sign him. He did play quite a lot though, Mou used to constantly rotate back then.[/quote']

So the point stands - you buy players you don't need - so others can't...wow modern football eh?

  5. Re: The Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread

See above. This is a new strategy implemented by Emenalo. Obviously we're gonna spend big for players who would go directly to the 1st team. Some signings don't work out' date=' some don't. This system by Emenalo is pretty much the same as Udinese's and it's worked out well for them. [i']I don't see people complaining about Udinese hogging players.[/i] Oh wait, we're talking about Chelsea here.

Didn't know they were in for Willian as well? This story has so many twists and turns

  6. Re: The Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread

What do you mean instead of spending big bucks? Like they did on Hazard...Schurrle...Mata...Torres...Shevchenko...Essien...Drogba...Oscar.. Wright-Phillips (a back up player who cost you 27 million pounds lets not forget)...Luiz....Ramires...I could go on! Yeah' date=' Chelsea sign and develop young talent in order to avoid splashing the cash [/quote']

Just added it up too - those players alone cost Chelsea over £360 million! For that I'd want to dominate domestically and have more than one European Cup! And bear in mind that's just a small selection of the silly money Chelsea spend! No need to then spend another 100mil on "prospects" is there? Not when you can go out and buy pretty much anyone!

  7. Re: The Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread

We've had this discussion before I believe. It's about buying talented players and developing them into a future 1st team player (loan them out in order to get regular football) instead of spending big bucks for a particular player. If they can't get into the team then they move on for a reasonable price. Simples. It's not what you or Dougie House is making out to be. Actually Moses is not the 9th choice. He's a back-up player.

    Mata - Oscar - Hazard

    Moses - KDB - Schurrle

What do you mean instead of spending big bucks? Like they did on Hazard...Schurrle...Mata...Torres...Shevchenko...Essien...Drogba...Oscar.. Wright-Phillips (a back up player who cost you 27 million pounds lets not forget)...Luiz....Ramires...I could go on! Yeah, Chelsea sign and develop young talent in order to avoid splashing the cash

  8. Re: The Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread

I think you're spot on. Consider Moses who was great when he played last season yet now would find himself somewhere like 9th in the pecking order. Then they slap on a price tag of something like the obscene amount they bought him for.

Crazy isn't it? There are a few young players who've gone to Chelsea whose careers have seriously stalled as a result - Moses' talent deserves more than being, what, 4th choice for his position??? Be lucky to start in the League cup at this rate

  9. Re: Official Arsenal Thread

In an ideal world' date=' i'd change Arteta for that DM you mention. [i']Wilshere and Ramsey should only be bench players.[/i] That's what Denilson should have been; look how that turned out. We're expecting too much from these sort of players.

Ramsey, yes - but Wilshere? Are you for real or just fishing?

  10. Re: Official Arsenal Thread

    £10' date='000,001?[/quote']

Ha sums it up. Anyone else get the feeling Arsenal are bidding for players they know are going to other clubs (and with amounts they know will not be accepted) so they can make it look like they are at least trying?

It said on fivelive last night that Arsenal have cash reserves almost equal to THE REST OF THE PREMIERSHIP PUT TOGETHER!

Someone somwhere is sitting on a lot of cash.....

  11. Re: Premier League Discussion Thread

I can't believe Palace have gone in to the season without strengthening their defence' date=' the defence of Delaney, Gabbidon, Ward and Moxey is laughable really and with a defence like that they aren't giving themselves a fighting chance at this level.

None of that defence is anything more than average at Championship level.

Think that this is the worst Premier League side since Derby unless they do something drastic in the next couple of weeks.[/quote']

True, but JEDINAK look decent in front of them

  12. Re: The Real World.. Real Life Transfers Only.. Dont Meet Chairman Criteria = SACKED!

Are there any managers who DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE CLUB

but would like to change club' date='

because they fancy a new challenge?

    So far I know that...

Chelsea manager would like Bayern Munich.

    Porto manager would like Arsenal.

    Is there anyone else?[/quote']

That's right mate - fancy a new challenge having lost out on the title to you

  13. Re: The Real World.. Real Life Transfers Only.. Dont Meet Chairman Criteria = SACKED!

CHELSEA missed out on the title on the last day on GOAL DIFFERENCE

    Congrats to DORTMUND anyhoo

Having guided CHELSEA to within an inch of the title I feel it's time to move and would like to state my interest in the BAYERN MUNICH job :D

The chance to join the Bavarian giants being too much to resist - despite their recent relegation to the 2nd tier of elite football

As the top manager this season behind NOWINHO I reckon I have a decent claim to the job, meaning CHELSEA will be looking for a new manager

  14. Re: The Real World.. Real Life Transfers Only.. Dont Meet Chairman Criteria = SACKED!

    DIVISION 1

    Real Madrid [2] ... Dortmund [1]

2 goals from Ronaldo stole the points for Madrid.

The first was from an awful refereeing decision to give Madrid a penalty

when Hummels clearly won the ball.

Then a late late winner from CR7 broke Dortmund.

The defeat gives Chelsea a 2 point lead with only 2 league games left.

    It's gonna be tight mate

  15. Re: Gold Championship 300

I have noticed that the set up has had it's managed teams drop by half since the start of the season.

I knew the usual quitters were doing their usual thing' date=' posting and posting and getting over excited at the start, before getting bored 5 minutes into the season but to lose half now means it's no different to any other GC.

not sure whether I will start next season now.[/quote']

Still here with CORINTHIANS though I haven't posted in here for a while

Don't quit mate - this GC will only become legendary if enough people stick it from the start and stay....
