    Ribery moves on..

French Superstar Franck Ribery has signed for Manchester City! After a series of negotiations that seemed to take forever, eventually Bayern Manager Razz was happy enough with what City manager Danny King had to offer. The meeting lasted over 4 and a half hours, but the ending was emphatic.

It is understood that Bayern have receieved a sum of £7 million plus diminutive defensive midfielder, Javier Mascherano. Also, Spain's best Left Back, in Joan Capdevilla, has made the trip to The Allianz Arena to put pen to paper with the German Giants.

    This is what Bayern manager Razz had to say ;

"I'm overall quite happy with the deal ; Mascherano will do doubt add serious ability to the midfield and Capdevilla will strengthen our defence which has been leaking goals this season so i'm very happy. Of course Ribery will be missed, he was a great player for us, a legend in his own right, and we wish him the best of luck at his new club in Manchester.

Heskey Fires Bayern to Crucial Win Over Misfiring Gunners!

Ten-man Bayern Munchen travelled to Arsenal overnight in what was a frantically important match for both sides. Arsenal were hoping to pull clear from the relegation scrap and the Germans were trying to claw there way back out of the Relegation Zone.

Arsenal, managed by Liam Smith, started the better of the two sides, with Marco Borriello wasting a glorious chance to open proceedings in the fifth minute. Arsenal were dominant for probably the opening 20 minutes before Bayern finally got there act together and started posing a threat to Manuel Almunias goal. Nigel De Jong wasted a great chance and Heskey had a decent strike kept out aswell as the German Giants pressed for the opener ; and that duly came as Emile Heskey, one of Razz' new signings, majestically thumped home a header in the 37th minute to send the travelling party into absolute havoc.

The second half was all Bayern from the offset however Manuel Almunia kept Arsenal in it with a couple of outstanding saves; and Arsenal were given a massive repreev on 73 minutes when the disappointing Martin Demicheles was sent off for acting angrily to the officials decision. Bayern held on to record a monumentally important victory.

First win in charge! but at what cost?

New Bayern Munich manager Razz has taken the team to its first win since the charismatic enigma himself took charge with a commanding 1-0 win over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.

A 55th minute strike by man of the match Bastian Schweinsteiger was enough to settle the scores, and lifted the Germans off the foot of the table, leaping Sevilla. However, they are expected to be without star striker Miroslav Klose for up to a month with a fractured wrist sustained in Bayerns first victory since there win over Valencia in late January.

Next up for Bayern, is a tricky test against 2nd placed giants Barcelona at the Allianz Arena. They are massive underdogs but have been for most of the season and since new manager Razz has come on board, there form has been promising, picking up a very solid 4 points from three tough matches against Manchester United, Milan and Juventus.

    Palace shock United!

A relatively unknown Crystal Palace side made up of 84's and the odd 85 managed to pork out a 1-0 win away to Manchester United last night. It was an emphatic shock that United came up with, shell shocked from the first whistle as Palace enjoyed a mammoth 63% Possession and managed to create 11 opportunities. Eventually, in the 79th minute, all there hard work paid off as Tilson Minda struck to give the newly promoted side a much deserved place in the next round of the cup!

Crystal palace have been in fine form since there promotion to the Premier League, amazingly still yet to lose a match this season. An opening day home 2-2 draw with West Ham United was a great result, with a fantastic effort to hold European hopefuls Everton at Goodison Park 1-1 the following game. Following them two impressive draws, Palace showed they had much more than draws in them, with a thumping 5-1 win at home to Reading in which debutant Luciano Leguizamon repayed manager Razz's faith by scoring 4 goals in a dominant performance. With this latest result, Palace have a lot of reasons to feel confident about surviving the drop this season, with many bookmakers having them as favourites for bottom spot, they have made a fantastic start and look to continue tonight as they make the trip to the Britannia Stadium to meet up with 2nd placed Stoke City.

    Razz Returns!

There have been some rumours circulating around that Inter were about to snap up Razz as an assistant, and just a few minutes ago, it was CONFIRMED!

Long time Inter Milan manager Ferg Milligan has stated for a long time the need for stability and consistency inside his italian outfit, and with former Manchester United manager Razz now available, he swooped. Inter have made a less than impressive start to the new season, lieing in 9th position, however it is assumed that the arrival of the two-time title winner will be a kick-up-the-bum that the Inter players need.

When asked why he accepted the job offered to him by Ferg Milligan, he replied, speaking at Perth International Airport in Australia:

I can see that this side is in need of extra motivation, extra experience and some tough work. I believe I can install these characteristics into the side and I believe, with myself and Ferg working in tandem, we can have a fantastic run of results. Players that think i will be nice have alot of thinking to do because im here for a reason, to get this side up to division 1. I will do whatever i have to do to make this happen. It's not impossible, and I for one believe we can do it.

Razz is not expected to be in the dugout for tonights big clash at table-toppers AS Roma as he will be on the Emirates enjoying a nice curry during the match, but it is almost certain that he will be on the bench for the hosting of Udinese on Thursday Night, a game that is expected to be broadcasted live on SoccerManager.com.

    North London Derby Delight!

Tottenham Hotspur travelled to The Emirates last night in what was billed as a vital Premier League Clash infront of over 60,000 people in Arsenal.

It was a cagey opening with both sides trying to take control of the midfield, with the only notable opportunity in the first 10 minutes was a high volley from Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner after a typically flowing move from the home side. With Manuel Almunia rarely touching the ball in the first half an hour, it was his opposite number in Heurelho Gomes who produced a stunning reflex save to claw away what was a destined opener from Robin Van Persie midway through the half. Eventually though, Arsenal got something for there long periods of possession, Bacary Sagna got the ball back from a throw in and produced a deliciously teasy ball into the six yard box for van persie to stab home under the desperate lunge of spurs keeper, Gomes. 1-0 to Arsenal.

As television replays kept showing the sensational move, people watching from there home seats could only listen as the commentator shouted, "FABREGAS, FABREGAS, FABREGASSSS!", as the replays finished we saw the ball in the back of the net and Emirates stadium was roaring once again! Just 11 seconds after the restart, Fabregas had stolen the ball of Palacios and gone on a mazy run to make it 2-0 to Arsenal right before half-time.

As the teams came out for the second half, Arsenal were the confident side but were also quite nervous as a result of there last two matches, where they had thrown away leads to drop points against West Ham United and AZ Alkmaar respectively. As the half wore on, the likes of Peter Crouch and Jermaine Jenas started to get a bit more of look in as Arsenal took a foot off the pedal, and were thankful to Alexandre Song after the defensive midfielder trotted back brilliantly to time a fantastic last ditch challenge to deny spurs a route back into the game. Spurs were made to pay for that as Arsenal scored a controversial third. Eduardo was fouled on the right hand side but the ball broke to Bacary Sagna, with the referee waving play on.. for a brief moment both sides stopped but Sagna weaved in another teasing delivery that went straight through Sebastien Bassong and Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, to the delight of Robin Van Persie, who ecstatically tapped home the simplest of goals from six-yards into an empty net to make it 3-0 to Arsenal. Eduardo and Van Persie then wasted great opportunities for Arsenal to further humiliate spurs, but it wasnt to be, Arsenal were forced to take a 3-0 win that Arsene Wenger was delighted with.

    In LR News..

In his first public appearance since sensationally quitting as manager of Manchester United around 3 weeks ago, Razz has hit out at Fiorentina boss Kylan Hood as well as hailing Atletico manager George.

    Of Fiorentina manager Kylan:

Well, its amazing isnt it.. He barely logs onto his account for most of last season to do his tactics, and then blames Jose Mourinho as the "distraction" that lead to them being relegated and having no trophies. I feel Kylan is just making excuses for his sides poor results of last season. I have nothing to do with this but I feel Jose Mourinho didnt deserve the lack of respect that he received by Mr. Hood.

He followed that up by hailing the impressive Atletico boss, George:

What the bloody heck is this boy on? He must have some drugs in him because the way he's handling that Atletico side is truelly amazing. He's built that side up from basically three good players into a full list of talented players. Sure, its not the best side in the world, but he's done a mightily good job with that side, and now that he's got Mourinho helping him out, i fully expect them to go from strength to strength.

There was just one more thing Razz wanted to say before leaving the conference, admitting it was hard not to wade into the heated arguments between some managers with regards to AC Milans signing of Fabregas.

When asked what he thought of the situation, he said:

well, its hard to say because im not a mind reader and im not either Stefan or Tramp, but theres absolutely no doubt that its suspicious. I dont think even Stefan can say that he would think otherwise had it been any other deal involving two other teams. I mean, if Tramp had not quit the next day i think there would be no problem with regard to the deal. Fabregas is a wonderful player, and I for one would be biased to say anything pending the actual deal itself, but yeah, to sell your best player and then quit the next day must be looked into.

    Promoted Palace!

There were absolute jubilant scenes at the Stade de France stadium in Paris overnight as the Championship Play-off final was completely dominated by Crystal Palace. Palace dominated proceedings from the opening minute through to the end in a blistering performance which saw them run out thumping 3-0 winners over Hull City.

It took only 9 minutes before star striker Victor Anichebe got the 3rd placed league finishers off to a great start by scoring a spectacular overhead kick. Just as Hull seemed to be getting a bit of swagger about them, veteran Palace defender Dmitri Sennikov struck with a beautifully timed effort to leave the south london side 2-0 up at the break.

It was more of the same after the break as Marco Borriello continued his fine form for Palace with a tidy finish just three minutes after the interval to cement his man of the match accolade.

What a win! I never in my wildest dreams expected a performance like this and am ecstatic for the lads. It hasnt sunk in yet that we will be a Premier League team next season and we all know that we have our work cut out in pre-season to add some extra talent and experience to our list which can handle the rigours of premier league football. It will be by no means easy and we will be giving it everything we've got.. a message to all other managers, if you have any 86-88 rated players you wish to sell, contact me!

Crystal Palace have been promoted after a stellar season which has seen them finish third in the league, semi finalists in the league cup and a thumping win in a play-off final.

Fiery, Pulsating Game of the Season at Old Trafford.

We have witnessed one of the games of the year in La Resistance, with former teammates at "The Rangaroos" Atletico Madrid and Manchester United put on a spectical in what was an outstanding match of open attacking football.

Atletico Madrid took the lead in the 10th minute with an excellent strike, but it was almost immediately cancelled out by Andrei Arshavin's screamer 3 minutes later. With both sides having numerous chances to score, it was the goalkeepers at either end that was keeping the game level with Edwin Van Der Sar and Rene Adler forced into some fine saves just before the interval. Noone managed a breakthrough before halftime so they went, "as you were", at halftime.

Manchester United came out buzzed for the second period and it was no surprise when they eventually took the lead when Adrian Mutu scored a fine strike in off the far post in the 50th minute. However again, the opposition struck back, just like in the first half when it was reversed, as Liedson again capitalised on very poor goalkeeping by the ageing VDS to slot home one of the easiest goals you'll score. 2-2. We could not believe it when Mutu again stepped up to be the United hero less than 60 seconds after Liedson's equaliser, it was 3-2 to the home side as this time, poor goalkeeping by rene adler was to blame as a speculative chip by adrian mutu was fumbled over the line by the german shotstopper!

Things changed for United when an errant 68th minute foul by Nemanja Vidic earning him a straight red card from Belgian official, Johan Verbist. This did not stop man Utd who still managed to increase there lead 2 minutes later when SP, Wayne Rooney, controlled a super ball over the top of the Atletico defence before smashing it past the goalkeeper. at this stage it was 4-2 to United with just 20 minutes remaining and the game was back on two minutes later as Ashley Young fired past the exposed Van Der Sar to breath fire back into a game that looked over!

Five minutes later Atletico Madrid did the unthinkable to break the United hearts as former man utd midfielder Anderson managed to sneak in and bring the scores level again. Thats how it stood, one of the games of the season no doubt and you've gotta praise both managers, George and Razz, for putting on a fantastic game of footy.

Wow.. what a game ey?!?! That was enjoyable to watch even from the dugout but i am disappointed that we werent able to hold onto a two-goal lead with just 20 minutes left. It was just that sort of game, its never over untill the fat lady sings and that cost us today. Atletico were very good, there talented list is really beginning to mature and evolve into a world class side. I tried to spruce things up for this game and play an amazing attacking brand of football, Vidic's dismissal kind of ruined it though, it was a really bad way to go, with a game thats so poised like that I would have hoped for a better decision by him but theres nothing we can do now. At one stage we had 2 defenders, 3 midfielders and 4 attackers!

Manchester United travel to arch-rivals Real Madrid next sunday evening in a game which can be seen live on SM Score Center :P

    Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid

Former teammates from last season meet for the first time in what looks set to be a blockbuster affair at Old Trafford tonight. Manchester United will go in deserved favourites but im sure Atletico manager George wouldn't mind that, as he's been able to build on of the most talented young squads in the league. Theres no doubt that United will have it cut out for them tonight, coming out of a great performance which saw them sweep aside a very bad Milan outfit in the opening game of the season, it seems United have the ability, but will consistency be there problem?

    Stay Tuned.

oh and before i forget... La Resistance!

  13. Re: la Résistance (Official thread)

Manchester United manager Razz has come out before the start of the season and sent shockwaves through the world with some very abusive language towards a few of his colleagues in La Resistance.

" Firstly, i wanted to absolutely tell the world that i am not gonna be a push-over anymore, in recent seasons ive been criticised by some of the media for letting things go but now i am gonna be straight to the point and no-one is gonna get let off the hook. Every single manager in this pathetic excuse for a setup will stand up and notice the "aussie" one. I wanted to especially mention Stefan, the manager of Milan, who quite simply acts like he is the worlds best manager with the worlds best team, however, my team lost the opening 4 matches of last season and still managed to finish 3 places above him, so i tell him in no uncertain terms, to shut the f""" up and get back to doing what u do best, which is trying to suck ur chairmans two-incher!. as for real Madrid manager Mark, Im the reason he won the title 2 seasons ago cuz we beat sevilla, he didnt thank us one bit! and now he suffers because he finished well down last season. Good Riddance! We dont want to have people like him at the top!

Razz directs his attention to Stefan and Mark, whom were both spotted riding on a motorbike yesterday morning.

The only two managers in the setup that I heap praise on are Danny King, who has done well with his Man City side, and George, who arguably has the most talented young list of players in the setup.

Another manager i got very frustrated with last season was Kylan, i mean, how many times do we have to tell him he has NO defence? and what does he do? he goes and continues to sign attack-minded players.. a team with only 1 defender over 86 is pathetic, he can wine about being relegated but its bloody obvious why he did!

to be honest, you all should hope im in your group, because theres only one way u are going to win, and thats with me!".

Stirring words from the United manager, who will ironically kick off the opening game of the season away to Stefan's Milan.

  14. Re: la Résistance (Official thread)

    United bag the points!

Manchester United hosted a confident Barcelona side in front of a whopping 76,212 people at Old Trafford overnight. Quickly it seamed they were on the backfoot as Samuel Eto'o struck for the catalan giants after just 7 minutes to send the home support into shock. United got back into there style thought and after a 10 minute period of complete dominance, they finally found the equaliser that they were looking for, with Adrian Mutu taking advantage of poor defending from the spaniards. It was the last goal for the half as both sides went in to the interval locked at 1-1.

The opening period of the second half had it all, fouls, injuries, shots, however somehow neither side was able to hit the front. That was, untill Patrice Evra put the home side infront on 73 minutes. It was a fantastic goal for a left back and it was indeed the winner as United held off the final minute onslaught from Barca to record a strirring win.

    Man utd 2-1 Barcelona

    Eto'o 7'

    Mutu 27'

    Evra 73'

I was really happy, we played a good game of football today, it was disappointing to go down 1-0 early on because when Barca take the lead they usually win it, but we came back well. This is the type of result we dont usually win, so it was great to get grinding win. It was a shame, We will miss Wayne Rooney, who seems to have concussion, he will be out for the final game of the season at Arsenal, which will be a blow, but Negredo will come in and i am confident he can do a top job for us.

    Big signing!

Manchester United have wrapped up the signing of one of the best young goalkeepers in the world in Rui Patricio. United beat teams like Milan, Tottenham and Liverpool to the signing of the highly rated keeper. United have apparently revealed that they paid Monaco a sum of about 7.5 million pounds plus goalkeeper Dos santos Renan aswell as young english right back Nathaniel Clyne.

Late Fitness Test Success for big German

Manchester United Centre Back Per Mertesacker has given Man utd boss Razz a boost with his return to fitness the morning before the crunch clash with Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium in Spain tonight. The big german defender has been out for the last two matches with a foot problem but has passed a fitness test this morning and has been handed his return. It will be a welcome addition to the United rearguard, which leaked a worrying two goals at home to bottom placed Udinese last time out in a narrow 3-2 win.

United Put Daylight Between themselves and Sixth with Thumping of Juve

Manchester United travelled to Italy last night to take on rivals Juventus in front of 22,450 people at the Stadio Olympico de Torino. It was expected to be a tight and congested match with little opportunities but we were all wrong as the match was an exhilarating fast tempo'd game of high quality. 2 goals in the opening 11 minutes from Wayne Rooney 8' and an equaliser from Saloman Kalou 11' had both sets of fans something to celebrate early on. However it was United that took a half-time lead when a surprisingly impressive Iraola ran straight at goal unchallenged to give the travellers the lead.

Half Time: Juventus 1-2 Man United

The 2nd half got off to a slow start but at the half hour mark United seemed to be on there way to a win when Adrian Mutu thumped home a low drive from 20 yards to give the English side a 3-1 lead. The game was effectively over when Per Mertesacker, who had been injured a few minutes earlier in a contest, managed to shrug off his injury and hammer home a blistering effort from distance to leave Gigi Buffon in no mans land.

    Juventus 1-4 Man United

    35% Possession 65%

    16 Total Shots 17

    12 Shots on Target 7

    4 Corners 7

    3 Yellow cards 1

    0 Red Cards 0

Man of the Match: Saloman Kalou

We played well again today, the disappointment of the draw with Valencia was a dampener but we fought back well today and im really pleased with the effort shown by the boys. Mertesacker's injury put a bit of a sour note on the win but i cant be happier with the way the boys played. I guess I'll have a selection headache for next week with Evra to come back from his suspension as well as who to replace Mertesacker. Miranda has been in good form for the reserves but his 2 games for the first team havent been satisfactory, however gamberini is struggling with a hip complaint and we cant forget Cetto, so ive got a big decision to make. We need to work on our shooting because to have only 7 shots on target from our 17 shots is not as good as we would like it to be.

Wayne Rooney - Scores the Opener in a Blockbuster versus Juventus.
