  1. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread BURY 1 - 1 Sheffield United Was hoping for 3 points but I will gladly take 1. New signing Raul Meireles made his mark, scoring Bury's only goal. Next fixture will be against mid-table side Ipswich which is a must win to keep near the top of the table.
  2. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread I fully intend on being here for the long run, and I apologize if I took a spot from someone on the waiting list . Like I said, I was searching this EC for a while (not as much on the forums as I should have) and I couldn't pass up the 1 opening I found. Once again I apologize but I plan on sticking with this squad
  3. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Hello everyone, just took over Bristol Rovers. I've been keeping an eye on this EC for awhile to see if a team popped up and I finally got one and it's good to be here!
  4. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread West Ham 2 - 2 BURY 2 quick goals at the end of the match earned us 1 point, but I'm disappointed in the overall performance. Another goal came from Wijnaldum, his 5th, the other provided by Huntelaar. Now sitting in 6th with 10 points. Midweek fixture will be against Sheffield who sits right above us on the table.
  5. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Bury Update BURY 2 - 1 Exeter Bury picked up 3 points in their mid-week fixture against Exeter. Goals were provided by the dutch winger combo of Jeremain Lens and Giorginio Wijnaldum. Wijnaldum picked up his 4th goal in 4 matches as he continues his terrific form. Bury now sit in 5th with 9 points, and will be visiting West Ham this weekend looking to make a run to the top of the table. I am willing to listen to offers for Midfielder Tino Costa. I am looking for a natural Central Attacking Mid in return.
  6. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Wigan 6 - 1 Bury Terrible match by my keeper, not making a single save and allowing 6 goals. Strikers also struggled with my only goal coming from a Sebastian Larsson header, from a Wijnaldum cross. Looking forward to our Mid-Week fixture as we host Exeter, looking to bounce back from our poor result today.
  7. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Just took over the Bristol Rovers job here in this GC! I am clearing a lot of dead weight off of my squad so if you have any interest in any of the youth players I put on the Transfer List, I'd be happy to sell them for as cheaply as possible.
  8. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Sold 2 young guys who have doubtful futures, and swapped the aging Benoit Cheyrou for Tomas Pina. Cleared up 20k in wages, every little bit helps!
  9. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Bury Update: Bury 3 : 1 Derby County 2 goals from Wijnaldum who has excelled playing on on the left side so far this season! Plus 2 assists from Huntelaar. Unfortunately I lost my CB Marcelo for a few days with a bruised shin and he will miss out on our visit to Wigan this weekend. So far 6 points out of 6, great start for Bury!
  10. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Good start for Bury with today's match being my competitive debut. We were victorious over Oldham by a score of 2-1. Bury opened up the match with 2 quick goals, the first from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, and the second 2 minutes later from Georginio Wijnaldum. Oldham struck back with a goal in the 54th minute but their Center Back was sent off 2 minutes later and Bury held on for 3 points. Bury will visit Derby County in their mid-week fixture as they try to pick up another 3 points. These 2 teams played a friendly match earlier in the week which finished at a 2-2 draw.
  11. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Hello All! Just took over Bury in Division 2, I have a nice mixture of talent and I hope to improve upon the 14th place finish from this season.
  12. Re: Gold Championship 100 Match Reports | Transfers Hertha Berlin Division 1 Hertha Berlin have silently been moving up the table and currently sit in 7th with 25 points. Their most recent fixture saw a 4-0 victory over Hannover. Hertha struggled with scoring goals for most of the early part of the season, but recent good run of form by Adem Ljajic has boosted the squad and put them on track for a strong season. SMFA Shield Hertha recently advanced the round 3 of the SMFA Shield with a 4-1 victory on aggregate over Newell's Old Boys. Next round will see Brescia Calcio visit Berlin as we make a push deeper into the competition. Transfer News After a poor start to the season, Eren Derdiyok has been made available to leave. Hertha would like to use him to make a deal for another Striker.
  13. Re: Gold Championship 300 MSV Duisburg has officially been promoted to Division 1! Now the trick will be if I can actually stay there or not.
  14. Re: GC19 discussion / rumours etc thread Everton Update So far, this season has had it's ups and downs for Everton. Division 1 After a sluggish start to the season, Everton found a much needed three points this weekend with a 4-0 victory over West Ham. Goals were provided by Eremenko, Wanyama, Van Wolfswinkel, and Ashley Young. With the victory, Everton moves into 13th with 18 points. Hopefully this victory will prove as a turning point in the season as we look fight back up the table. SMFA Shield Everton has proven successful so far in the SMFA shield with a 8-1 aggregate victory over Saturn in Round 2. Next round will be played against our first actual competition in the form of Italian side Lazio. Transfer News Earlier in the season, Everton accepted a large 30m bid for Joleon Lescott which saw the Englishman leave for Martimo. The cash went into the signing of two young, promising players, Bertrand Traore and Sam Hendriks. More importantly, it led to the purchase of Dante for 28m. Coming of Age This season has been a key point in Everton's future with multiple rating increases for multiple young players. These players include Mattia De Sciglio, Inigo Martinez, and Victor Wanyama. These players will build the base for the future at Goodison Park.
  15. Re: Gold Championship 300 MSV is still here, fighting for the final promotion spot in German Div 2.
  16. Re: GC19 discussion / rumours etc thread Looks like you got him just in time for a rating increase
  17. Re: Gold Championship 100 Match Reports | Transfers I think you may have had me if Defoe didn't get that early red card Poor performance by my side also not being able to score against 10 men, my attacking has been dreadful so far.
  18. Re: GC325-Forum V/S World I'm a little bit late to the party, but just took over Rennes Any other forum managers in France?
  19. Re: GC19 discussion / rumours etc thread Everton Division 1 Everton opened up the league season with a disappointing 2-0 loss against Southampton. Everton struggled to create scoring chances, and the few they did get were not finished. Keeper Brad Freidel struggled receiving an uncommon low rating and even allowing an own goal to put the nail in the coffin. Everton will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming fixture at home against QPR. SMFA Shield After barely making the competition, Everton marched on the victory against Martimo with a score of 3-2 in the first leg. Goals were provided by Alvaro, De Sciglio, and Eremenko with De Sciglio being voted Man of the Match for his performance. Transfer News Big transfer news coming from Goodison Park as Everton have announced 2 big signings. Manager Dylan Krupilis has dipped into a massive war chest to sign the pairing of Lukas Podolski and Aaron Lennon from Bologna. The pair cost about 60 mil but will be well worth it if they perform to the manager's expectations.
  20. Re: Gold Championship 100 Match Reports | Transfers 3 Draws against 3 weak teams, I'm getting a little nervous
  21. Re: Gold Championship 100 Match Reports | Transfers Hertha Berlin Hertha finished a modest 9th place last season, barely gaining access to the SMFA Shield. They will be looking for a higher placement this season and have brought in a few players in the off-season to see that is done. Midfielder Rio Mavuba arrived from Hanover and will provide support at Midfield. Miroslav Stevanovic arrived from Newcastle for a fee of 4.5M and will give Hertha some depth throughout midfield. Guillermo Varela is the latest signing, the 20 yo recently signed for Man U and could have a bright future in the EPL. Finally GK Tomas Vaclik arrived from Sparta Praha to play as backup to Patricio. That being said, the official Hertha BSC first team has been announced and looks as followed. Keeper PATRÍCIO, Rui 90 VACLÍK, Tomáš 86 Defenders JANSEN, Marcell 89 DIAS, André 89 KVIST, William 89 MOREL, Jérémy 88 VLAAR, Ron 88 MOISANDER, Niklas 88 DIEKMEIER, Dennis 87 SAKAI, Gotoku 87 JESUS, Juan 86 Midfielders MAVUBA, Rio 90 TIOTÉ, Cheick 89 NATCHO, Bebras 89 MVUEMBA, Arnold 88 FAIZULIN, Viktor 88 HAMOUMA, Romain 88 SAMEDOV, Aleksandr 88 SHELVEY, Jonjo 87 ASSAIDI, Oussama 87 STEVANOVIĆ, Miroslav 85 Strikers DERDIYOK, Eren 89 LJAJIC, Adem 88 ATHANASIADIS, Stefanos 87 JI, Dong-Won 84 All others will either be loaned out or will play a small role in the upcoming season.
  22. Re: Gold Championship 100 Match Reports | Transfers Hertha Berlin Hertha Berlin has officially unveiled their new signing Rio Mavuba. Mavuba arrived from Hannover for an estimated 20m, which just beat out a bid from Bayern. Mavuba is the first and, projected, largest signing of the off-season for the club. Hertha finished in a disappointing 9th place missing out on Shield play after a major collapse at the end of the season. Mavuba will play a vital role in the coming season as he anchors a visually strong center midfield along with Tiote and Natcho. Hertha is still looking to off-load any combination of Shelvey, Hamouma, Sakai, and Deikmeier in exchange for a quality right attacking mid (89+) who is not too old. Please get in touch if you fancy a deal.
  23. Re: Gold Championship 300 Well after a great run a Duisburg, I just couldn't resist a move to Gladbach. Ter Stegen, Xhaka, and Herrman are not for sale. I will listen to good offers for De Jong, preferably a replacement striker or a Left Wing.
  24. Re: Gold Championship 300 MSV Duisburg Good Form Continues! MSV played out a well fought draw against Bochum yesterday, with a score of 3-3. Bochum took command first scoring 2 goals before half and another right after leaving MSV in a deep hole. But MSV fought back well scoring 3 goals of their own (Van Acker, Sahar, Santin) to hold the score at 3-3. This draw keeps Duisburg in 4th place with 32 points, 7 off the top of the table and 5 off of 3rd. Santin's goal puts his tally at 17 which tops the table along with Dynamo Dresden's Nunez. MSV Duisburg currently is unbeaten in 13 games as they have shot up the table after an ugly start to the season.
