    2-1
    Louis II
    Att: 18,523
    Chelsea managed by: Barry Golden
Bordeaux managed by: David Bastos de Oliviera
    Referee: Pat Miller
    CHELSEA COMPLETE EUROPEAN DOUBLE!

    Drogba celebrates his clinching goal.
Since Barry Golden took over Chelsea from Tottenham last year, things have been successful to say the least. A year on and he has won the Premier League, Champions League and now the Super Cup, with the Charity Shield and a sure title challenge on the cards this season as well. Last night his side battled with a strong French team in Bordeaux in Monaco’s Louis II stadium. A crowd of just over 18,000 saw Chelsea win 2-1. Chelsea will play Manchester City on Thursday in the Charity Shield.
After a dull start to this match, Gonzalo hit a cross which raced across the goal mouth, needing a touch to make it a goal. Javier Mascherano was the first player to get a shot on target, as he raced clear of the defence, beating both the flag and the keeper, to give Chelsea the lead. Half Time: Chelsea 1-0 Bordeaux.
Drogba started the second half in style with a blistering thirty yard volley which smacked back off the crossbar with Bordeaux keeper Beto scrambling for the ball from the rebound. Geraldo Wendel had a chance for the French side but his effort curled wide of the target. Didier Drogba did get his goal on the hour mark with a tap in from 6 yards. Late on Marouane Chamakh hit a powerful low drive into the bottom corner but it was to be Chelsea’s day and they ran out 2-1 victors. Full Time: Chelsea 2-1 Bordeaux.

    Here goes: Win, Draw, Loss.
GC1: Dynamo Dresden 1 - 3 BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH (Hustzi, Hulk, Gilardino) Still in touch with SMFA Cup places which would be an amazing achievement to get. Enjoying managing them too.
GC2: JUVENTUS 2 - Genoa; (Schlaudraff, Ambrosini) Second team is unbeaten in 13 league games now, doing very well while first team focuses on cups.
GC3: VALENCIA 4 - 1 Osasuna (Eto'o[2], Fabregas, Zhirkov) Won 10 out of 11 now in the league with the other being a draw. First team will be playing in SMFA Cup from now on though.
GC4: Everton 1 - 0 ARSENAL; This team really really annoys me. I have such a great attacking line-up but never seem to be able to win trophies. MESSI, AGUERO and RONALDO for sale, P/E!
GC5: Carlisle 2 - 4 NEWCASTLE; (Nivet, Luis Fabiano[2], N'Zogbia) 4 point behind Liverpool in 1st with 5 games remaining. Its going to be close and would be my best achievement on SM if I could pinch the League title.
GC6: Racing Santander 1 - 2 REAL MADRID (Fernando Torres, Iniesta) This team really bugs me as I can never find consistency! Sitting second in the league and the squad is good enough to compete for everything.
    GC7: HAMBURGER - NO GAME
GC8: ROMA 0 - 1 Sampdoria;Have strggled since my awesome first season in charge. I keep dabbling with formations as none seem to work over long periods of time.
GC9: LIVERPOOL 2 - 0 Burnley; (Guiza, Mascherano) Won 2, lost 1 in the first three league games. I'm hoping to make a decent title challenge this season, have failed with the team previously and would love it all to start clicking.
GC10: Arsenal 1 - 4 LIVERPOOL; (Mata, Fernando Torres, Forlan, Van Der Vaart) Consistency is all thats missing. I would challenge if I could stop losing silly games.
GC11: Chelsea 2 - 0 ASTON VILLA; Have finished runners up in the league twice. Looking to go one better this season. Will need to improve results against bigger teams if that is to happen. Have lost 2 in a row in the league now.
GC12: INTERNAZIONALE 1 - 1 Genoa; (Emre) One of my best ever teams, trophy wise. Second team, which is quite weak in places will be playing in the league and are unbeaten so far. Focus is the SMFA Cup!
    GC13: EVERTON - NO GAME
GC14: MAN UTD - NO GAME
GC15: Enyimba 0 - 4 PORTO; (Bruno Alves, Guiza[3]) Going strong this season. Enjoying the setup also.
GC16: Spartak Nalchik 3 - 2 ZENIT; (Leandro Guerreiro, Tevez) Very disappointed with a loss to an unmanaged team. Season is going well though. Really looking to win the league.
GC17: Fulham 2 - 1 NEWCASTLE; (Martins) Have been neglecting this team slightly. Following leaving Cruzeiro for them. Will get them back on track from now on though!
GC19: WEST HAM 0 - 0 Wigan; Played 3, won 1 and drawn 2. Unbeaten but want to start getting points on the board.
    GC20: WIGAN - NO GAME
    GC21: LIVERPOOL - NO GAME
GC23: ARSENAL 1 - 2 Portsmouth (Crouch) Terrible season continues, cant wait for it to finish.
GC27: Leicester City 2 - 5 CHELSEA; (Montolivo, Nasri[2], Solari, Belletti) Second team keeping in touch with Harvey's United. Needed this win after losing the last 2 League games.
GC29: AlbinoLeffe 2 - 1 FIORENTINA; (Gilardino) So angry with the result. Have lost 2 in 4 now after being unbeaten in the first 20 league games)
GC31: Torino 0 - 4 INTERNAZIONALE; (Maxwell[2], Lavezzi, Maicon) Awesome run continues. Looking to finish in the top 2 following last seasons disappointment.
GC33: Watford 0 - 2 PORTSMOUTH; (Crouch, Distin) Picked up two wins on the bounce following a dreadful run. Hoping for promotion.
GC34: CELTIC 3 - 0 Hibernian; (McDonald, Hustzi, Robson) Will not be catching Rangers this season. Next season will be the one to watch.
GC35: Energie Cottbus 1 - 3 STUTTGART (Keane, Khedira, Cacau) Looking to push for a top 4 finish after some neglect on my part.
GC36: Villarreal 2 - 5 SEVILLA; (Mikel, Lennon, Veloso, Pavlyuchenko[2]) Doing really well in the league. Previous two seasons have finished outside top 4 in the league but have won the SMFA Shield in both. I want the league!
GC39: Inverness 0 - 3 RANGERS (Karadeniz, Ferguson, RANGER!) Competing with Celtic for the league. I feel I will get there this seasn though.
GC41: Luch-Energiya 0 - 5 SHAKHTAR (Brandao[3], Luiz Adriano[2]) Unbeaten 15 games in all competitions this season. Will be looking for promotion as previous manager got them relegated.
GC43: MAN UTD 4 - 0 Man City; (Lisandro, Xabi Alonso, Forlan, Anderson) Delighted. Only reason the score was so hig is because of Bowen's lack of interest in SM at the moment but still proud of it as I told him I would win the league this season and thats what I intend to do!
GC44: BENFICA 3 - 3 Naval; (Amorim, Yebda, Suazo) Finding it hard to repeat the amazing treble success in season 1. Terrible second season, now the third is not ging too well either despite some decent signings.
GC45: FIORENTINA 6 - 0 Juventus ; (Anelka[2], Gilardino[3], Gamberini) Delighted with the result. Had lost 3 in a row before last night, hopefully this will start a good run of form.
GC46: Werder Bremen 2 - 2 SCHALKE; (Altintop, Engelaar) I have always had trouble finding the right formation for this team. Hoping to be more successful this season.
GC47: EVERTON 0 - 1 Chelsea; Following an ubeaten start of 8 games I have now lost 3 in a row. More annoying was they have all been by one goal. Looking to get back to winning ways in the next game.
GC49: SAO PAULO 1 - 1 Palmeiras; (Ronaldo) Still cant believe that my only SMFA Cup win is with this team. I enjoy managing them though.
GC50: Metz 1 - 0 MARSEILLE; After nearly being relegated last season due to neglect, I promised myself I would have a real go with this team. Turns out they were doing better when I payed less attention to them.
GC51: San Lorenzo 1 - 2 RIVER PLATE (Abreu, OG) Recent form has been terrible. Will be looking to win the league for the third time in a row this season.
GC53: CSKA MOSKVA 2 - 2 Dynamo Kyiv (Luiz Adriano, Godin) Looking to win the league again this season as my squad is not good enough to compete for more than one trophy really.
GC54: ATLETICO MADRID 4 - 1 Almeria; (Cassano, Aguero, Maxi Rodriguez, Schweinsteiger) AFter a terrible first season we are living up to expectations. Just sold Forlan for Pazzini and Cassano too, very happy with that. A few more deals and squad will be good.
GC60: VILLARREAL 0 - 3 Racing Santander; League has really been ignored as progress is being made in SMFA Cup. Will hopefully avoid relegation but do well in Cups.
GC61: Numancia 0 - 7 REAL BETIS; (Sergio Garcia[3], Melli, Nelson, Oliveira, Emana) Sitting top of division 2 with Recreativo hot on my heels. Both look odds on for auto-promotion though.
GC63: Swansea 0 - 1 NEWCASTLE; (Ameobi) Comfortable at the top of the second division. 14 points clear. Promotion!
GC66: WERDER BREMEN 2 - 0 Nurnberg; (Marin, Sanogo) Sitting in 3rd in the league. Too many draws have cost me top spot but I am still within range of making a late surge.
GC70: MK DONS 1 - 3 Bristol Rovers; (Leven) SLightly gutted but now transfers are starting to happen I feel things will get better.
This took me a while so please, have a scan over it.

    SIGNORE SORENSEN STAYING PUT

Mr. Sorensen, has been approached by FC Utrecht regarding taking the reigns at the Dutch club. The Sassuolo boss has been grabbing some headlines with amazing transfers, totally transforming the club and it is rumored that the Utrecht chairman is looking for exactly that kind of revolution at his club.
After a short mandatory thinking period, Mr. Sorensen respectfully declined the offer. The Sassuolo faithful were ecstatic with the manager's decision to stay with the club.
    Mr. Sorensen:
Sassuolo are currently fourth, two points behind table leader, Brescia, and have moved on to the third round in the Italian Shield.
This is the second time that the sought after Sassuolo gaffer has rejected a job offer. During the season's beginning Mr. Sorensen turned down the opportunity of taking charge of the Trinidad & Tobago national team for reasons unknown.
    Other news:

    SASSUOLO GRABS STARLET

Serie B side Sassuolo have pulled off yet another amazing transfer coup. Italian forward Guido MARILUNGO will be joining the club soon. Sampdoria have accepted the offer which is rumored to be around 600k.
The kid plays as a second striker or attacking midfielder. The (former) Sampdoria jewel has left his mark in Serie A already - 6 appearances and 3 goals. He won the Golden Boy award for being the best player at this year’s Viareggio Tournament and he'll probably also be a part of the new U-21 side.
Sassuolo have also signed Croatia U21, Domagoj VIDA and Austrian national team players, Andreas HOLZL and Jakob JANTSCHER.

    DERBY COUNTY UPDATE

Once upon a Time, Derby County under the Legend who is Brian Clough, took on the best of the best. They took on the Champions of England, the Champions of Europe and the Champions of the World, playing without any fear.
Now, Manager Sam Warren has got his team playing exactly how Clough got his players playing 40 years ago, and reliving and bringing back memories of what was the most historic moment in Derby County's History.
Warren's Men sit 4th in the Premier League, 5 points off 2nd and 3rd placed Arsenal and Bristol City, and 9 points behind Leaders Aston Villa.
The target for The Rams is to finish in the Top 4, which will Guarentee them a Champions League spot for next season, something hasn't been achieved since the great Brian Clough back in 1972. If Derby were to finish in the Top 4, it would put behind all there problems the club have faced in the last 10 years, with financial problems and sacking after sacking, and would put them concentrating, taking on the best teams on the planet.

Derby sit in an impressive 4th spot, but know there are plenty of more Games to go.

You would think that Sam Warren couldn't be more pleased with his sides huge effort this season, after finishing 11th last season, is a huge leap in class. But Warren remains unfazed, and couldn't stress more that their is a long way to go.

Warren said being a Derby Fan makes this job alot more enjoyable, and relishes the chance to follow in Brian Clough's footsteps.

Warren's side have impressed massively this season, with the likes of Goalkeeper Robinson Zapata, Center Back Nicolas Bianchi Arce, Winger Johnathan Brison and Striker Ireneusz Jelen, all performing, and giving 100% every game. The whole squad have made an impact this season, with Kanu, De Nigris, Romeo, Cale, Broadfoot, Manfredini, Dickoh, Nonda, Stoltdis and Lanzafame, all contributing to this great effort by Derby County. Clough's Derby maybe were a completely different side to Warren's, with Clough having the likes of Kevin Hector, Archie Gemmil, Roger Davies, Colin Todd and Roy McFarland; but Warren's want to achieve and have the full respect of Manager Sam Warren. But Clough's men managed to play in the European Cup, and they played against the best, including Real Madrid Who they beat 4-2.
But another team who are also punching above their weight are Tom Goodson's Bristol City, who are sitting in a unbelievable 2nd Place. Manager Warren is good friends with Goodson, and have worked together to get to 2nd and 4th places respectfully, and are both looking to finish where they are at the moment.

Jelen is a player who has performed to his very best to help Derby to 4th spot.

So, with 14 Games to Go, can Derby County recall History?
    COME ON YOU RAMS!

Nick Justice Since taking over has won 3 league games and drawn an SMFA shield 2nd Leg with Newcastle United, however the best and most importnat game was a nice 3-0 victory over local rivals Benfica on the 11th of April. Nest up for Sporting are Vitória de Guimarães, In Justices first game came a 2-0 win over Vitória de Setúbal, then the 3-0 over Benfica, then a 2-2 Draw with Newcastle United however still made it to the 3rd round of the SMFA Shield were they face unmanaged Volliadolid. Lastly a 2-0 victory over Sporting Braga. Sporting now sit 2nd in the league and 5 points behind league leaders FC Porto, Justice Said " Well, i wnated a win at Benfica and thta i very much so did!, a comfertable 3-0 victory. It was Sporting's game, and one they rightfully deserved to win as they were the better side!, Benfica still had a good Game,However couldnt finish off in front of goal but Sporting could and found the net 3 times...

    First Half:

Sporting Kick of the Game, There are many chants from either side of Fans this is a big game in Portugal, one that is not well lived down by the losing side. Benfica come closest from Jose Antonio Reyes in the 4th minute, but for Álvaro Negredo to then just a few minutes after to come even closer. Then after playing the ball around well, Sporting take the lead through striker Giampaolo Pazzini. 1-0 Sporting. It was the n Benfica trying to get back in the game and again striker Jose Antonio Reyes thinks hes clean through only for the linesman to flag him offside. Its All Sporting till the dying Minutes of the first half.

Pazzini's goal is the differance at Half time!

    Second Half:

Benfica with the kick-off, After Rui Patricio saves Cardozo's shot Jose Antonio Reyes blast the rebound over the bar. Sporting Start to pile on the Pressure with numours amount of shots, Then Sporting take a 2-0 lead this time its Central midfielder Marco Donadel with the goal to but the home side 2-0 up after 68 minutes. 2-0 Sporting and deserved. Then Sporting again Pile on the pressure its all up Benfica's End of the pitch for a while till Benfica push on up, but for Sporting to counter Center Back Nogueira Tonel who has been a rock at the back for Sporting All game ran past 5 benfica players to shot and score the 3rd and winning goal for Sporting, Benfica fans already starting to leave after they lost on derby day!

Inter Triumph And Ground is Gained

With Kaka suspended, and Gabriel Milito NMF, it was all down to Jack Rodwell and Stefan Sessegnon. Chelsea travelled to the San Siro to face Inter Milan last night, and being 5 points ahead of their rivals, the blues were looking to capitalize on their 5 point lead to secure 3rd place. Inter knew that this was a must win game if they were to stand any chance of pushing for promotion.
Referee Masoud Moradi blew the whistle and the game kicked off. Early on, Jose Bosingwa was booked for a rash challenge on Karim Benzema, who then reacted angrily, shoving Bosingwa to the floor to earn himself a Yellow. Milligan on the touchline was furious, as this means Benzema will miss the Trip to Atletico because of suspension. In a flash, the iniciative was seized. John Terry's horrific backpass was intercepted by 18 year old Mario Balotelli, who had no easier job then to slot the ball past the on-rushing Petr Cech. 1-0 Inter after 9 minutes.
The game then descended into a scrappy affair, with lots of snapshots and tight defending, the keepers were given plenty to do. However disaster struck for the Italian outfit, when Michael Essien played through Didier Drogba, who rounded Julio Cesar and superbly scored from an acute angle on the stroke of half time. 1-1. Inter manager Milligan and Chelsea manager Tailor then rounded up their troops and took them into their respective dressing rooms, to give motivational talks over a cup of tea.
Referee Moradi led the teams back out onto the field and play began in the second half. Karim Benzema was surely out to make a point, as no less than 3 minutes into the half he forced a save out of Cech with a terrific 30 yard drive. Inter were clearly on the Warpath, and with Maicon and Maxwell charging down the wings to offer support, Inter finally broke the deadlock. Sessegnon was booked for slapping Joe Cole, however Chelseas move broke down, and with the ball coming to Karim Benzema 50 yards out, he knew what he had to do. He dribbled effotrlessly round Essien and Lampard, before thumping a thunderous 20 yard drive into the bottom left hand corner of Cech's net. A goal worthy of the striker he is. 2-1 Inter Milan. Shortly after Mancini hit the crossbar from 25 yards out. Chelsea just surviving the onslaught.
Chelsea then began to fight back, and Lampards header only just reaching Julio Cesar. Ricardo Carvalho found himself in acres of space from a corner and hit hit the post, beating the floundering Cesar. Drogba then grazed the top of the bar, before Benzema almost got his second by just tapping wide. Ashley Cole will be kicking himself as he had the glorious oppertunity to equalize, however Julio Cesar was the hero, producing a spectacular point black stop from 6 yards out.
Inter knew the victory was nigh, and the celebrations began when Moradi blew the final whistle to signal an end to a fantastic match. Cech was handed MOTM, but it was a small consolation for chelsea, who have their lead over Inter cut to 2 points, with 2 games to go.

    Balotelli celebrates bagging to opener.

Benzema celebrating after Regaining the lead.

Julio Cesars stunning save from Cole.

    Manchester City update:

2nd March: SMFA Shield Round 1 - Leg 1: Racing Santander 0-2 Manchester City
    Given
    Zabaleta - Apam - Onuoha
Nicolita - Fernandes - Hamann - Felipe Melo - Hellebuyck
    Mandzukic - Bellamy
With the Shield not being top priority for City this season, 9 of the reserves were given their chance in Santander with only Given and Bellamy keeping their places from Saturday. Dominating possession and restricting the home side to just 1 shot on target the away side were the most comfortable and the opening goal came from a mix up in the defence when Ezequiel Garay's back-pass fell short and gave Gelson Fernandes an easy finish in the 65th minute. Mario Mandzukic doubled the lead soon after when he went round the keeper to finish from an acute angle on his debut for the club. City now take a lead back to Eastlands next Friday where the reserves will play again.
4th March: Manchester City 2-0 Bolton Wanderers
    Given
    Dunne - Richards - Bridge
    Wright-Phillips - Ireland - Kompany - De Jong - Robinho
    Mandzukic - Bojinov
City were made to work hard by a determined Bolton side on Wednesday night but overall a 2-0 win was probably a fair result. Using a 4-3-3 wingers system, Bolton seemed to be coping well and forced Shay Given into making 2 brilliant saves early on. However, after half time they began to push more forward and were made to pay when Wayne Bridge thumped a low shot under Jaaskelainen after 50 minutes. Bridge nearly doubled the lead soon after but his effort was ruled out for offside, a very narrow escape for Bolton's defence. Vincent Kompany managed to beat their offside trap in the 74th minute though before sliding it under the advancing Jaaskelainen for another 3 points.

    Transfer News:
Al Nassr's striker Saad Al Harthi has become the latest signing for Manchester City as he completed a £5.4 million move a few days ago. With City in 4 competitions Al Harthi is likely to become a valuable squad member and looks set to play in the cups alongside Craig Bellamy.
Meanwhile, both Dietmar Hamann and Elano have left the club recently as City look to build a younger squad. Hamann moved to Wolves for £2.5 million with defender George Friend heading the other way, whilst Elano moved to Fiorentina for £3.6 million + the highly talented Carvalho Felipe Melo.
