  2. Re: M&M Awful run of results see my team rooted to the bottom of the table, team severely under performing despite our cup success we our unable to inspire any domestic rhythm. But despite this harsh start, we are only just acclimatizing ourselves and looking forward to a more successful second half of the season. May involve going to back to basics to get the best out of our team and make them realize their potential. On a positive note, had 2 80+ risers.
  3. Re: "33K" A great win against playoff chasers Lokomotiv Moscow, an important win with rivals dropping points. 8 point gap to play off places and 3 behind in-form Saints with 7 games to go. Reluctant to go into the transfer market and break up a winning team. Means I may miss out on top targets but promotion is something which is top priority.
  4. Re: i๑۩۞۩๑ WORLD WAR III ๑۩۞۩๑i Sorry for the lack of activity for the past week, been a troublesome period for me lately. Anyway not bad results whilst away: First up a challenging trip to in-form Newell where Closer has done a cracking job in recent fixtures. Open game with plenty of chances, though lack of composure in front of goal was clear to see with 41 shots in total but only 2 goals. Frustrating end result seeing as we had the lead, controlled the game with 66% possession, had a goal disallowed and conceded with 12 mins to go which all but ended our title hopes. Took a risk leaving out Ribery and Ibra for fitness issues and backfired to say the least. Managers Reaction as the match wore on Sunday's fixture was up against already relegated Penerol, on paper a match we should win but a challenge none the less. A 9 nine goal thriller with neither keeper having a good day, but happily and deservedly came out on top. Despite not being on the best form this season, Ibra nets a Hat-trick to score his 2,3 and 4 goals of the season was the highlight of the match. Managers Reaction Last match of the season on Thursday, and realistically the title chase is heading to Japan, our goal difference giving us a slim hope of a late steal if results go our way.

  6. Re: Coates or Kelly? So, we know that the manager values Kelly and is keen to develop and continue his progress as a player. However, the defensive additions that were made in the summer have made it increasingly difficult for Kelly to even get onto the pitch as a substitute, never mind in the starting eleven. The management just need to find a way to integrate Kelly back into the side in some capacity, as anyone who has watched him will have seen the fantastic ability he has to be a top player for both club and country. One of the problems is Liverpool now being in just two competitions this season, the chances for Kelly to start any games are now very slim. If like last season Liverpool were competing in the Europa League, that could have been the perfect opportunity to give Martin game time. Personally I like the lad, Kelly is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and also carries a great aerial threat and it is this versatility that makes Kelly such an interesting player. Although he exceeded expectations playing as a right back, Kelly is a centre back by trade and he will naturally be hoping that he will get the chance to move inside in the coming years as it is highly unlikely that he will ever usurp Glen Johnson at right back. With Kolo Toure being at the latter stages of his career a space in that back two/three, will become available for competition within the next couple of seasons. This in no way means Kelly will just walk into that position. He won’t. He’ll have to compete with Illori, Wisdom and any potential new signings for it. However, he will have much more of a chance of competing for a role as by that time he should be completely up to speed and just as eager to compete for his place knowing that he has a decent chance. I would sell Coates and keep hold of Kelly if there are no better alternatives available and see how he develops.
  7. Re: In tactics what use does the directional arrows do This has never been crystal clear, and there has been many interpretations of the influence of arrows and how they impact the outcome of the match engine. I think that if you put an arrow on a forward player for example a full back like you suggested it means that the player will make runs going forward in the game acting as an attacking minded player. I suppose putting backward arrows on defenders mean that you will have a very deep defensive line meaning that the opposition will find it more difficult to play through balls and get in behind your defence? Of course there is a way to make use of them IMO, but all depends on your style of play. If you attack down the wings/opponent is weak on the flanks put forward arrows on wingers to exploit the space or if you like to attack through the middle push your players infield. Another way you can attempt to use them, if you are losing the game in the 75 mins, try and push your midfield up and encourage them to get forward and support your attack in a bid to rescue the game and see how this works for you. This is not gospel as far as I am concerned but my theory so could be completely wrong
  8. Re: Goalkeepers with lower than 100% condition? Every player loses fitness after a game even goalkeepers but they lose considerably less than outfield players. How many days in between the cup and league match, if it was the day after like the date of your post shows than there is no bug it just that there was not enough rest days to regain full fitness.
  9. Re: M&M LAST MINNOW STANDING Ponferradina secured a spot in the semi finals of the M&M cup to become the smallest team left in the competition. To be fair it was a closely fought quarter final in which we fell behind in the first half but equalised in the second. The match went to penalties and a 100% conversion rate saw us through. On balance of play, I think we just about edged the game and deserved to go through. Meanwhile we cannot let our cup success distract us in the league as we try to salvage a poor domestic start to the season. Coincidentally, we play the same opponents in the league on Thursday as we try to prove this win was no fluke.
