  1. Jose seems to think that this a no win....I'm inclined to agree somewhat being that the season is only 2 games in for you, however, your title win last season had what, 3 losses? Think the average over the past decade is 4 losses...a loss today=immense pressure, definitely possible, but a hurdle nonetheless....
  2. Adding KDB seems like one helluva overkill.... Maybe this summer is retribution for summers past that saw the likes of Javi Garcia, Jack Rodwell, Scott Sinclair etc come in.....
  3. What is your opinion on Mane? I'd presume that with the calibre of names being thrown about, Sadio would be by far a left field option....
  4. So, Pedro was passed up for Sadio Mane? He's half decent....but really? LVG must know something we don't....
  5. Third season Jose syndrome methinks....the Hawthorns next and with Chelsea in this sorta dysfunction, Tony must be licking his lips.....as an Arsenal fan, can I have a 3-0 again?
  6. This IMO needs to line up against Crystal Palace.....Bellerin in for Debuchy, Cazorla back in the middle with Coquelin, Alexis takes his place on the left with Rambo dropping to the bench until form decides otherwise, Ox on the right and Olly or Theo up top depending on the nature of the opposition, this Rambo-Coq pivot with Cazorla on the left is asking for trouble......Cazorla had some of his best moments in the jersey along with Coq, dunno why Arsene changed that.....We need Welbeck back in a hurry too, since Theo isn't playing like a 140k a week ST, we need Danny's work rate, directness and urgency.......
  7. Thought Petr was meant to save us points, not lose us! Will the footballing Gods ever smile on us? Bottlers.....
  8. ''Cech could save PS2 games without a memory card!'' Hahahaha, top banter....
  9. This game, is a catch 22....win and people will put this down as a glorified friendly with no bearing on the title challenge and with stats pointing out only 9 winners of the shield outta the past 22 go on to win the title,it's hard to disagree....if Arsenal lose, they are castigated.... Chelsea win, then everybody points out their dominance...they lose, everybody states that it's a friendly....no real win for Arsenal....am I being too pessimistic?

  11. Look mate, Nowhere did I say unbeaten run, I got the winning run stat off by 1 game, but my arguments still exist.....of all the things I've mentioned seem to have been avoided or ignored.....Hypocritical? Yessir, if you are willing to criticize Arsenal's defence but not apply that same logic to your team who conceded more(or since it's 1 goal, we may consider it equal) and hasn't made substantial improvements to the defence, then that my friend is hypocritical, if my definition of that term is right....... I'm game for constructive give and take discussions on other teams, including my own, but it's always better to be objective(naturally, we have bias, but strive to be somewhat objective) To slightly divert from this discussion, you mentioned earlier that Chelsea got lucky in the final 3 weeks with GKs granting them points......despite my apathy towards Chelsea, it's a bit rich IMO to say that, Man United finished if I'm correct, 17 pts behind Chelsea, 3 wks worth of points taken away from Chelsea still leaves them ahead of you...
  12. Our defence was the 3rd best in the league and our defensive record was the best over the final 19 games, conceded 13 over that period, next best defense over that stretch was Chelsea with 18 conceded, so I ask, where do you get that notion that our defense needs improvement? Arsenal can't win dirty? You seem to forget that 8 game winning stretch...longest in the league So, only one valid argument(ST) and the others are all washed up sentiments that have been gradually disproved over the past 2 seasons....
  13. Lads played champagne football today, simply orgasmic.....
  14. Bloody quote tab doesn't work for me, Ozil displaces Rambo at No. 10, Ox takes RW over Walcott and finally Alexis takes over the vacant LW slot Cech Bellerin-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Monreal Cazorla-Coq Ox-Ozil-Alexis Giroud Strongest starting 11, Rambo on the bench is a pretty crazy thing tho, can't see him displacing the midfield pivots in Coq and Cazorla, and this year IMO is the year for Ox to really realize his glaring potential and hopefully stay fit for the most part. Ozil at No.10 is mainly because he showed what he could do in the league's final couple of months down the middle rather than at LM in a 4-1-4-1 system. Alexis, well he could play pretty much in the hole, RW, LW, false nine(although slightly more ineffective) and still be a threat....
  15. Would love Joao at the club, a real quality player who wouldn't command an extortionate fee....although a midfielder of his ilk isn't really what we require.......
  16. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/9921551/sergio-ramos-not-joining-manchester-united-rafa-benitez-says Well then, heard it from the horse's mouth.....but then again, we have seen unlikelier things happen....
  17. Talk of Sczcesny going off to AS Roma.....maybe a move like this could help him get his head down and harness the potential that he has and possibly come back a better GK.
  18. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-told-to-groundshare-with-arsenal-while-new-stadium-is-built-as-premier-league-threaten-to-block-wembley-move-10398486.html Thoughts on ground sharing with Spurs? Or is that one of those that shouldn't even be asked?
  19. Amazing what Shad has managed to do with regards to our injury record and also injury prevention practices, may this continue this season as well cause perhaps better fitness may equal 4/5 pts more a season. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...ord-25-6054218
  20. Some Arsenal fans I know are admiring United's business this window, however decent it might be, we can't admire another team's toys just because they are new, Arsene knows that we have probably 2 holes to plug, cover for Coq and possibly a Striker. I assume at this rate that only 1 of those holes will be plugged since the market is quiet on those fronts. Furthermore, Wenger seems to be working on the premise that whoever else we bring in must be coming in with world class pedigree, not somebody to boost the numbers which is something hard to disagree with. Those signings will probably happen if circumstances are perfect.
  21. Surprised that you passed up on Clyne who's younger, has 3 seasons worth of experience in the PL and more importantly went for a similar price tag for Darmian who seems talented but is ultimately untested in England. Perhaps LVG wants to revert to a back 5 since Darmian has experience playing in that system for Italy....
