  1. Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News Part 2 Transfer News United Prize Robben From Zenit! Arjen ROBBEN has joined Manchester United, turning down offers from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Milan and Inter to return to England. The Dutch winger was much sought after by Europe's elite after Zenit confirmed the winger could leave the club for the right offer. Manchester United met the valuation placed by the Russian side and Robben says he never looked back: 'As soon as i heard Manchester United were interested in me i told Zenit that they were the club for me. I am flattered for the interest shown in me from some of the biggest clubs in the world but the chance to play in the same team as players like Cassillas, Vidic, Ferdinand, Ronaldo and Lionel Messi was too appealing for me to even consider anyone else. Dan Walmsley has told me he has big plans this season and for the future and i think this season United look like a more complete package with more answers than last season. I think i have a fantastic oppurtunity to win some major honours here...' Ederson and Vucinic left Old Trafford to fund the Robben deal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anderson HERNANES also joins United for a part-exchange deal of Cissokho and Hulk. The duo are believed to have great futures ahead of them but with neither playing a game between them since their arrivals last season Dan Walmsley admitted he needed someone who can do a job in the middle now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luigi GIORGI leaves United for £600,000.
  2. Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News Good form Continues...? 0 - 2 Fixture: Division 1 - Sheffield Wednesday Vs Manchester United Venue: Hillsborough (25,751) MoM: Robin Van Persie Utd Scorers: Van Persie (23), Ronaldo (79). A comfortable away win for United kept up the good start to the new season with goals from Van Persie and Ronaldo either side of half-time doing the task in hand. Manchester City sit 2nd in the table... 2 - 2 Fixture: Division 1 - Ipswich Town Vs Manchester United Venue: Portman Road (21,154) MoM: Iker Casillas Utd Scorers: Higuain (31), Van Persie (53). A frustrating afternoon for United as they were held to a point by newly promoted side Ipswich. The home side twice took the lead in the game before United levelled and man of the match Casillas was forced to make a string of top saves to keep his side in the game at times. United remain on their new unbeaten run but another showing like this will cause big problems to that record. 2 - 2 Fixture: SMFA Champions Cup - Manchester United Vs Espanyol Venue: Old Trafford (76,162) MoM: Robin Van Persie Utd Scorers: Van Persie (24), Vidic (35). United remain top of their group and need just 1 point from the remaining 2 games to guarantee qualification following San Lorenzo's Shock win against Bayern Munich.
  3. Re: Free second goalkeeper? Has anyone even had an injured/suspended keeper yet?
  4. Re: Gold Championship 57 Walmsley re-appointed at Walsall after the manager admitted regretting leaving such an exciting project. The Saddlers enjoyed a great start in the league under Walmsley and made some fantastic youth player signings... Dan has vowed to get the Saddlers back on track. More to follow...
  5. Re: Gold Championship 59 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread 2 More League Wins As Milan Go Top. 1 - 5 Milan travelled to Bari still unbeaten under new manager Dan Walmsley and they continued this run with a 5-1 hammering away win. Goals from Ronaldinho, Thiago Silva and a Diego Milito hat-trick sealed the comfortable victory. 2 - 0 Another league victory sent Milan to the top of the table as Inter slipped up. Diego Milito kept up his goalscoring form while a rare strike from Zambrotta completed the score. Milan are sent top of the league and have progressed into the 3rd Round of the Shield with a tie against Ancona tonight. The Cup has not yet begun while Milan will face Brazilian side Gremio in the SMFA Shield Round 2. Transfer News Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho has left Italy for Spain, the 29 year old will now wear the Espanyol shirt after Milan accepted a bid of Carlos Kameni and Luis Garcia. The forward could never quite replicate his Barca days form in the red and black famous shirt and for this reason he was allowed to leave. The arrival of Kameni looks set to confirm the exit of Abbiati... Jermaine Pennant joins Milan in a straight £8million deal, the Englishmen has been told he will be more of a squad player but will add some much needed depth for the right wing position. It is believed that Milan have agreed to loan Portsmouth Maldini for the season as compensation for the deal.
  6. Re: Liverpool to sign Glen Johnson I think he will still join Liverpool, Portsmouth have accepted both bids and have left Johnson to decide which club he prefers and indications shows he is not comfortable going back to Chelsea. In reality Portsmouth are just paying back Johnson, by accepting both bids they are ultimately giving him the platform to negiotate a few extra 1,000's a week on his wages as a thank you for him signing a new contract last January to ensure that Portsmouth would get top dollar for him (£17mil!). It is no secret that had Johnson not have signed the contract extension 6months ago that he would be leaving for Liverpool/Chelsea for a good few million less...
  7. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Thanks (Gc19 Man Utd manager)
  8. Re: sneider higuain 30 million for c ronaldo No way. Higuain and Sniedjer (Especially Sneidjer) have uncertain futures next season, you can get much better than that.
  9. Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News Arsenal Hammered And United Into Shield Semi-Finals... 4 - 0 Fixture: Division 1 - Manchester United Vs Arsenal Venue: Old Trafford (76,187) MoM: Lionel Messi United Scorers: Messi (13, 22, 28, 36). Another Lionel Messi wonder show won United the game as the Argentinian ran sorry Arsenal raggid. The brilliant forward hit a hat-trick in less than half an hour before making it a quadruple of goals as United kept their 5 point lead at the top of the Premier League. 0 - 1 Fixture: Shield Quarter Final - Middlesbrough Vs Manchester United Venue: The Riverside Stadium (32,106) MoM: Ibrahim Allefay United Scorers: Allefay (64). United stumbled into the semi-final of the English Shield after a hard-fought 1-0 away victory to Boro. Allefay broke the deadlock in the second half just after the hour mark with a half volley from a cleared header from a Riera corner. Chelsea await in the last four... Transfer News Robben - Where will the talented Winger end up? The bidding war for Arjen Robben has begun with some of the biggest clubs in the world hunting the Dutchmens signature. Zenit had confirmed earlier in the week that the club were willing to listen to offers for the 25 year old which alerted Barcelona, Inter, Milan, Real and Manchester United. It is believed that the best bid will be accepted tommorow and Dan Walmsley is hopeful his offer can secure him a new squad member: 'There is no secret that we have made what we believe to be a solid offer to Zenit but with some of the finest clubs in the world also interested we are in for a battle for Robben's signature. He is a player that interests me alot as he can add some extra quality to our wide play as well as the ability to cut in and score goals - much like Cristiano Ronaldo who will play on the other side. We will wait for further correspondence from Zenit regarding the deal but so far the signs have been good for us from Russia where we have several people working hard to land our man.'
  10. Re: Gold Championship 59 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread 3 Wins And A Draw For Milan. Siena 0 - 1 Milan (League) Milan 4 - 1 San Lorenzo (SMFA) Milan 1 - 1 Inter (League) Milan 4 - 0 Sampdoria (Shield) Transfer News Kaka has left Milan with Arjen Robben and Ferreira Pepe arriving in Italy. Meanwhile Milan have confirmed they are close to concluding a deal for another wide player and hope the deal will be finilased in the next two days...
  11. Re: Will people start to hate Real Madrid?
  12. Re: OPEN UP GC'S For Free SM'ers I'm only in 1 Non-GC setup and my other 3 teams are GC teams and i can honestly say that if i don't want free members in GC's as the amount of cheating they bring into the game is beyond belief. Keep CG's clean and keep the freebies out!
  13. Re: Official Real Madrid Thread Blatter has given his approval to the Ronaldo deal... That idiot is the biggest hypocrite and most corrupt man to smear his ugly face on the beautiful game. Had Manchester City, Chelsea or even Barca signed Ronaldo for the same vaule as Real or perhaps even less the man would be condemning it as the 'end of football as we know it' or 'ridiculious' but he has no doubt already renewed his Real season ticket under the early bird scheme for the coming campaign. I think more and more United fans are pleased with the imminent departure of Ronaldo from Manchester as the deals moves closer to completion. I still think this is a step backwards for Ronaldo despite the new era under Perez but only time will tell i guess. Madrid are still suffering from the effects of the last galactico and have more internal problems than a tom cruise and katie holmes relationship.
  14. Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News European Campaign Continues Well And An Important Point At Anfield... 1 - 3 Fixture: SMFA Champs Cup - San Lorenzo Vs Manchester United Venue: Pedro Bidegain (20,384) MoM: Honorato Ederson United Scorers: Ederson (8), Moutinho (41), Inler (62). United made it 3 wins out of 3 in Europe as their bright start to the campaign continued. Argentinian champions San Lorenzo had been in some fine form going into the game after a dissappointing start to retaining their title. Ederson opened the scoring early on with an 8th minute strike although the score was level when the home side equalised on the 32nd minute. Moutinho restored United's lead just before the half time whistle with a final goal from Inler in the second half to keep United top at the halfway point of the group. 1 - 1 Fixture: Division 1 - Liverpool Vs Manchester United Venue: Anfield (44,980) MoM: Lionel Messi United Scorers: Messi (65). It was an important game for both sides with the top two teams in England going head-to-head for the first team since Liverpool came under new management. Liverpool couldn't afford defeat as United held a 5 point advantage over them so early on in the season while United didn't want their fantastic start to trying to regain the title hitting a massive hault with a loss against their biggest challengers. Liverpool took the lead just before half-time but a brilliant solo run from Messi after the hour-mark was finished with a beautiful chip over Reina. The result was satisfactory for both sides with Dan Walmsley admitting he would have settled for a point before the game. Transfer News Negiotations have begun with two unnamed clubs to try and lure two new players to the club although sources around the club remain tight-lipped at this time... Lassana Diarra completed his move and made his debut for United against San Lorenzo in the SMFA Cup 3-1 victory.
  15. Re: Gold Championship Teams - Who I'm Going For & Who I Landed ! Real Madrid GC60 - Officially the hardest GC team to acquire ever?!
  16. Re: Official Real Madrid Thread Football clubs all have their own place on the transfer market food chain and sadly for Manchester United, Real Madrid has, does and always will sit at the top of the chain whether they win less or not. I remember Crystal Palace moaning when Tottenham came in and pinched Bostock for a 'below market vaule' price. Ironically, Palace themselves had done exactly the same for a player from a smaller clubs a few months earlier. A few months later and Tottenham were moaning about United with Berbatov and United were arrogant in their dealings although a rather oversized bag of cash was thrown at the White Hart Lane board which quietened the Spurs suits... Sadly for United though Madrid found something they wanted it and as we all knew sooner or later they would get it. For Manchester this is a great deal, a player that single handedly thinks he can take apart the best team in the world on the champions league final is one that must go. With that cash United can move on, I genuinely feel that Ronaldo's attitude was having a negative effect on the pitch and in the dressing room. I think Ribery, Benzema and Teves on a permanent deal will be concluded with the arrival of Luis Valencia also for Manchester. Ronaldo or those 4...?
  17. Re: Gold Championship 59 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread 3 Wins And 1 Draw From Opening 4 Games For Milan. Following an opening game 3-1 victory against title rivals Juventus, Milan have gone from strength to strength and currently sit 2nd in the table behind city rivals Inter. 2 - 2 Ronaldinho and debutant Diego Milito hit the goals as Udinese and Milan shared the points at the San Siro. 3 - 4 Krancjar, Kaka and Inzaghi (2) got the goals in an important away win in the first leg of Round 1 of the SMFA Shield. 2 - 0 Kaka and Ronaldinho both scored again as Milan made light work of another big side in Roma after the heriocs against Juventus. Transfer News Diego Milito joins for a fee of Borriello and Seedorf. Silveria Juan moves to Milan with Nesta and £5 million heading the return way to Roma. Kaka - Dream move to Madrid for the Brazilian playmaker? Ricardo Kaka looks set to finally complete his move to Real Madrid later on the week for an undisclosed amount..
  18. Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News 13 Wins From 14 So Far... 3 - 5 Last season United were shocked by Ben Reado's QPR at Loftus Road with a 4-1 crushing defeat although they got revenge at Old Trafford winning 4-0. This time though there were no surprises although an exciting game of football for the fans. Lionel Messi was on fire to hit a hat-trick and almost single-handedly win the game on his own while Inler and Vucinic also chipped in to keep United on course to what has been a great season so far. 3 - 2 Newly promoted Nottingham Forest came to Old Trafford for the first meeting between the two sides since Dan Walmsley became manager. It was truimph for Walmsley with goals from Van Persie, Allefay and Inler securing another 3 points. The result moved United 5 points clear at the top of the table but with a tough double header against Liverpool and Arsenal no-one is getting ahead of themselves... Here is the form so far of the new campaign: Transfer News Lassana Diarra is the subject of an accepted bid from Portsmouth. The holding midfielder will arrive tommorow all being well with Tiago Pinto + Miguel Veloso + £5million going the other way... Javier Pastore and Van Eenoo join the United youth team. Mauro Zarate was set to join United after Lazio accepted a bid of Mirko Vucinic for the young Argentinian, it seems Dan Walmsley had a change of heart and is planning on using Vucinic for a new midfielder...

  20. Re: Site Migration . You lot are a bunch on moaners. No-one mentions how fast the result are processed on the new server. All mine were in by 8:30pm... Give SM a chance to sort these bugs out and then you can enjoy the new faster server...and stop moaning!
  21. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Jesus, i thought when SM said they were going to draw the SMFA Groups they actually meant changing them around a little as i was getting bored of the same groups in the last 30+ GC's... I'm milan so it's shield for me but hopefully champs cup next season after a win and a draw so far. Fairly happy with my tie against San Lorenzo but anything can happen...
  22. Re: Cristiano Ronaldo-does he deserve a 98 rating? Yes Ronaldo is just as deserving of a 98 as Messi. Maybe even a little more.
  23. Re: GUILHERME should i sell him????? Ouch. I guess he should've kept him...
  24. Re: Gold Championship 59 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread AC Milan Latest 1 - 3 Milan started the new season with a fantastic 3-1 victory away to title rivals Juventus. A Ronaldinho brace and one from Pato did all the damage as AC took a vital first three points... Transfer News Phillipe Mexes arrived in Milan to complete his move from rivals Roma in a deal which saw Senderos and Kaladheze go the other way. Meanwhile, Brazilian star Kaka remains the subject of much transfer speculation with his on off move to Real Madrid still unresolved. It is believed Milan are holding out for a slightly improved offer for their star man to ensure they are correctly compensated for the loss of the talented AM...
