  1. Re: SM Forumers on Football Manager

At least someone is watching lol. I feel a bit better now :D

Live reports are a nice touch, and I love the effort you're putting into this, but you can't expect everybody to be online watching it at the same time. Maybe if you said one evening in advance "I'm going to do a LIVE match report tomorrow at 7pm GMT for the Cup match between Leeds and Liverpool", then I'm sure people would log in to see what happens.

  2. Re: Official Red Devils thread

Van Der Sar is another funny one tbh' date=' especially as the rumours persist about him retiring. Him and SAF obviously know what his plans are, but I think we'll see Foster get a bigger share of games than he has been getting, to bed him in and also give him enough game time to get to the world cup ;)[/quote']

He's still the best keeper at the club and I've no doubts he will be a first-team regular come December.

I'd love for Foster to prove himself in these next 8-10 weeks because I reckon he'd make a good England goalie at the World Cup next year.

Well' date=' you'll soon see how it went. Should be done in about a hour and half (might be more as I'm gonna go eat dinner sometime soon). Matthew's being done right now and all that will be left is to add 2 of my friends.[/quote']

Nice, can't wait. Bit worried that some of these players may want to leave if they're too good. What's the club reputation?

  4. Re: SM Forumers on Football Manager

    UPDATE :

There are 2 more players to add from SM and 2 friends' date=' so I'm nearly done. If you still want to participate, you better be quick ;)[/quote']

Post a screenie of me please (when you're done of course).

Remember, I'm Alonso/Toulalan-esque. Not as good as passing as Alonso, but defensively better. And I can header too. Looking forward to the end results. :)

  5. Re: Official Red Devils thread

    Carrick and Fletcher for me.

    Berba and Rooney up top.

Couldn't agree more. Fletcher over Anderson every time.

It's one of those seasons I think' date=' there's only 5 players guaranteed to start every game they are fit for atm, those being Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick and Rooney. Everyone else's position is up for grabs, which I suppose is a good thing in a way as the competition for places, due to the emergence of the next batch of youngsters can only make everyone raise their game.

Fergie's gonna have one helluva headache this season trying to rotate, but it's a one I'm glad he got :)[/quote']

Van der Sar's another guaranteed starter in my opinion.

  6. Re: Official Red Devils thread

Will be interesting to see who partners Carrick in central midfield: Anderson, Fletcher or possibly Gibson? The latter continues to impress me.

With the very attacking nature of Valencia and Nani on the pitch, Ferguson may choose Fletcher to offer some defensive balance to the midfield.

  7. Re: Fabio and Rafael da Silva - Man Utd's Brazilian Twins

So for my 1,000th post I decided to return to the only decent thread I've ever made. As a special treat, I've completed a major update of the opening post, with up-to-date statistics, reports and new videos, including an embedded video of Rafael's goal against Arsenal (which I thoroughly encourage you take a lot at again, just because it's a beauty.)

After what you all know was an overwhelming debut season for Rafael (and an equally underwhelming one for Fabio), the future looks bright for the coming season, due to kick-off next weekend. Rafael will fight Gary Neville, Wes Brown, John O'Shea and new-kid-on-the-block Ritchie De Laet for that right back crown. Fabio faces less, but much tougher competition in the form of Patrice Evra, who shows no signs of being removed as United's first-choice left back.

Pre-season looks optomistic for Fabio, who made 6 appearances from 7 games (3 starts, 3 subs, 297 minutes.) Rafael, on the other hand, did not play any matches, possibly due to injury - can anyone confirm this? Still, barring more injuries, Rafael will be looking to play as many matches, if not more than he did last year (27 appearances), as he continues to develope as one of the Premiership's rising young stars. Fabio will also no doubt want to eclipse the 2 appearances he made last season, and odds are on that he will.

Looking forward to another season of English football!

The new kit is starting to grow on me...

Not too sure about the Valencia one though. The bat effect is cool but the sponsor should be written in orange. I should design football kits.

    Edit:

What's the score' date=' none of the links work for me:([/quote']

2-0 to United. Rooney and Cleverley scored.

  11. Re: Official Red Devils thread

Valencia are now a man down (ran out of subs, and with an injured player now) and 1-0 down. Not looking rosey for them.

Still, a more exciting match than Juventus last year. The second most boring match I've ever been to. The other was a Spurs-Charlton game.

Edit: They've just brought on their sub keeper. :P

  12. Re: Official Red Devils thread

5 Papers on different days have all said that they have heard from a source that Man Utd will use their friendly against Valencia to try and purchase Silva or Villa. Hope that's true as we need some one..

Valencia won't sell Villa, but I'd love to see Silva at Old Trafford. Like Ken said however, there aren't any Spanish players at United which doesn't do them any favours.

£20-£25m are the reported values I've seen for Silva.
