  1. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Auf Wiedersenn Germany. The Germans have been dumped out of the world cup in the cruellest of ways. Despite having 6 points, they are out via goal difference. A win against Cameroon wasnt enough, so Cameroon and Egypt porgress to the next round. The other big country to be put out early was the French
  2. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Newcastle comfortably seen off Wolves, beating them 3-1 away from home in a friendly.
  3. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Does anyone know who the Portsmouth manager is? He's seems to be doing a HAMMER job?
  4. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Happy to have all these accepted. Im trading in older, and lesser players for them. Hopefully a couple of good rises in them, so should make the squad better
  5. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Accepted Also, Newcastle win 2 in a row. Came back from behind to beat Stoke 2-1, goals from Hernanes and Bonucci. Good start from the toon Nice easy trip to Man U next Edit: West Ham went to town on Birmingham 12 goals from 13 shots on target
  6. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Just after signing a reserve goalkeeper, so Krul can leave on loan from Newcastle. He's an 84 rated keeper, so the lower leagues may want him. First come, first served. He must go to a club where he'll get games too
  7. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) I think there's a wee bug in this game world, as every World Cup qualifier is set to be played on the 24th
  8. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Newcastle will be fielding a strong team tonight, but not their strongest. Pedro and Marcelo will only feature on the bench due to not being fully fit. Poli comes in for Pedro, with Ganso moving into a more attacking role. Renann will be at left back, while Bartra comes in at right back. Hoping for a draw tonight against tough opposition

  12. Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread As Germany prepare to take part in the 'Group of Death', they have released the squad that will take part: Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer Rene Adler Defenders Phillip Lahm Andreas Beck Per Mertesecker Holger Badstuber Mats Hummels Serdar Tasci Manuel Friedrich Arne Friedrich Keiko Westermann Gonzalo Castro Jerome Boateng Marcell Jansen Midfielders Simon Rolfes Torsten Frings Bastian Schweinsteiger Michael Ballack Sami Khedira Christian Gentner Mesut Ozil Piotr Trochowski Forwards Marko Marin Miroslav Klose Mario Gomez Stefan Kiessling Lukas Podolski Kevin Kuranyi Thomas Muller The only man that would have been in this squad that missed out was Toni Kroos. He's ruled out for 4 weeks, so will miss this tournament. Heres the starting 11 for the opening game against Senegal: Neuer Lahm Mertesecker Badstuber Westermann Khedira Ozil Schweinsteiger Klose Muller Gomez These will be the players representing their country in Mexico. The opposition they'll face in the groups are Senegal, Egypt and Cameroon. I know who'll they will be supporting Will the Germans be finishing of 2010 in victorious fashion, or will they bow out early?
  13. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) GO into your club Go to 'Game World' on the left hand side of the screen Click History on the drop down menu Best Managers After only 2 games it wont really mean anything though
  14. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) I think if you win your first game too. Most people that won in the first game got 5 points, even me, and I wasnt playing a much better team
  15. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Thanks Heres my first team, fully finished: --------------------------Asenjo--------------------------- Renan---------Hummels-----------Bonucci-----------Marcelo --------------------------M'Vila---------------------------- --------------Hernanes----------Poli----------------------- Ben Arfa--------------------------------------------Pandev --------------------------Pedro--------------------------- I was going for an under 25 side, but then I seen Pandev so went and got him for fairly cheap. Should only get better for Newcastle when the rating changes come around
  16. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Just made a post on the match report thread on how the first division could pan out, and why I think this
  17. Re: English Championship 7484|Transfer Gossip and Match Report Thread. I'm currently bored, so decided to do this. Here's how I feel the Top Division could pan out this season (also, these are just my guesses and opinions) after most teams have made transfers: 1: Manchester United - United have made some great signings, one being Cristiano ROnaldo. They've a decent squad too, so if any injuries occur they should have enough players to cover them. Despite being beaten in game one, a decent manager should see this side be up there at the end of the season 2: Arsenal - They've a small squad, but filled with talent. Plenty of youngsters here that are top class, like Fabregas and Higuain. On the attack they will be lethal, so if there defence is up to the task, this side could be hard to beat. 3: Manchester City - A good team, but I still think they aren't up to the task of winning the league. They havent got the real top men like the 'big four', but overall a good squad. Third place would be a good finish for them 4: Liverpool - Liverpool have signed some good players, that really strengthens their side. They have a top manager at the helm now, so should break back into the top 4. 5: Tottenham Hotspur - Spurs have made some big changes to their side. They now have a really good midfield, and should control possession in most games. If there midfield performs to the standard the players are, then they could finish higher than this 6: Chelsea - Chelsea have some superstars in their side, but if any injuries occur, their side will be hammered. With only 12 first team players, their resources will be strethched to tle limit. Unless they bolster their squad. they may struggle. The best player in the planet mightnt be enough to see them falling out of the top 4 7: West Ham - The Hammers have made some major signings, and could be a force in this league. The squad they have is very experienced, but they can still perform. A high finish for them this season is expected 8: Aston Villa - They've made some really nice signings, and most should rise in the next rating changes. Not quite good enough to challenge the top yet, but will be in Europe next season 9: Newcastle United - They have completly changed their side, with Krul being the only man that was here before the change in management. A very young talented team, but lacking depth. A couple of injuries could hamper any chances of finishing high in the league 10: Everton - They havent made a lot of changes, but have bolstered their side. If they are able to perform, they are capable of finishing much higher than this. Now its just a question of will they play to their limits? 11: Sunderland - They have improved their side, and have made a big signing in Mascherano. They're good enough to stay in this divison, but will probably fall short of the top 10 places 12: Fulham - They've made some big signings, and have a lethal attack. Ronaldinho, Di Maria and Suarez could rip sides apart, but their midfield mightnt create too many chances. Should finish higher than this, but can they grinde out the results 13: Blackburn Rovers - 2 really top class forwards have came to Blackburn, with dangermen Villa and Milito coming in. Goals shouldnt be a problem, but will they have the players to replace them if they get injured. They should easily be good enough to stay in this league, but need to get more quality players in to beef up the squad 14: Birmingham - Birmingham are yet to make any signings, but they have a good side anyway. Zigic is a big target man, and Hleb could get the knock downs. A decent side, and should be good enough to stay up 15: Stoke - A good team, and should be a hard side to beat. A strong team, and should be good enough to stay up in the league. A couple of poor performances could really hamper this sides chances of staying up, but would need to bounce back from poor results 16: Wolves - They've made a couple of good sigings, but the rest of the players arent up to their chances. If they get their best players injured, they will really struggle. Might be good enough to stay up 17: Blackpool - They have really improved their squad and have a strong base, but they will struggle to stay up. They'll need to beat the sides at their same levels, otherwise they'll be in divison 2 next season 18: West Brom - They've got a solid defence, but will struglle to get goals. Unless they can get a clinical finish, they wont survive this season 19: Wigan - They've made one signing, which was bringing in Buffon. They now have a top class keeper, but the rest of the squad is average. DOnt think they've got what it takes to stay up 20: Bolton - They'll really struggle to stay up unless they make more signings. They've got a couple of good players. but will really struggle if they get any injuries. I think this side could be the 'whipping side' this season
  18. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Needed to sign a better keeper, so got Alfonso. Decent enough player, and was a straight swap for Leno, so no money spent on him. Mandjeck is a good signing for me. Giving away a low rated defender and most of my playoff winnings. He really suits my formation too. He can play anywhere in defence, and anywhere in my midfield too Next seasons aim = stay in division 3
  19. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Siligardi and Papastathopoulous are now playing for the Magpies. Siligardi is a good prospect, and Papa.... can play in a lot of positions for me. Thought I lost out on the Papa deal after a late Burnley bid, but luckily the Milan chairman values Gosling quite high Once I sign a 10k keeper, Krul can go out on loan to lower league clubs. Also, we beat Tamworth 8-0 in a friendly. Goals from Ben Arfa (2), Pedro (2), Ganso, Hernanes, Pandev and also a goal from goalkeeper Asenjo, who scored a free-kick
  20. Re: English Championship 7484 (First 5 Division EC) Naw' date=' not yet anyway. It's probably better to wait a couple of games to see what managers will be staying for a while. We'll need 5 or 10 dedicated managers to do predictions weekly, or twice a week. I'd say it'd be better to do something like a prediction game, like in WC10000. This would involve one game being picked from each division. Then people can predict the scores. One point for the correct result, and an extra point for a correct score. Heres the link for the WC10000 thread: WC10000 Prediction Game This could be the same template used if there's enough interest. Also, Newcastle have signed 18 year old Sergi Roberto from Barcelona. The young AM(rated 82) is a good prospect, and will form part of Newcastles cup team. Inter Milan younster Siligardi is also coming in, possibly along with Papastathopoulous from AC Milan. The Papastathopoulous deal may not go through, as Barnsley put in an offer too. Hopefully he'll be mine, as he can play in the Centre back area, or anywhere in my midfield.
