  1. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge The 10$ aren't the problem. I would pay twice as much if i could play without chairman intervention and without SMFA intervention. I just can't do any deals because everything that isn't a cash deal gets shot down and cash deals simply won't get you good players. In the current state the game isn't worth the time investment for me.
  2. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge I tried all kinds of tactics and none worked. Offensive, defensive, two strikers or one, targetman, playmaker,...you name it. And playing offensive a whole season worked for my Greenock Morton which won the Scottish Championship in GC 100 against a much superior Rangers and Celtic. In any case a team which was so far superior to the competition should have been more successfull.
  3. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge June 7 I have made a decision. Lately playing SM wasn't fun for me and i don't feel like continuing to spend so much time with a game that constantly interferes with my decision-making. When i play a manager game i want to have clear rules and then be able to make my own choices but chairman intervention and SMFA intervention have taken the fun out for me. I feel that the Leyton Orient Challenge has been a success but not as much as i hoped for. Not getting out of division 2 in a full year has really baffled me. My team is far and away the best team in division 2 and this season i will very likely not even make the playoffs. I hope that you guys had fun with my little blog and i have the feeling that a few managers learned a bit from this as well. I enjoyed my time in GC 1 but now is the time to move on. If anyone wants to post in this thread now feel free to do so. I will answer any questions and stand to your criticism. My team will be available in 6 days when my gold subscription runs out. Hopefully a competent manager will take over and take my team to new heights.
  4. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge June 3 Sorry for not updating but i have been busy. My team has hit another bad streak and only got one point from the last four games. With 7 points behind the crucial 6th place and only 4 games to go my season is almost over unless there will be a miracle. The transfer market is equally bad. The SMFA is constantly intervening with my plans and transfers have beome very hard if not impossible. To get ahead my team has to do multi-player deals and almost all of them are automatically labelled as attempts to cheat. A few of my players to rating increases: BENATIA, OSPINA and EL-ARABI got +1 to 88 I will update in a few days but right now the SMFA intervention is so annoying that i will probably not renew my account when it runs out in just over a week. I have better things to do than constantly be labeled as a cheat by automated programs instead of being able to play a game that i pay for.
  5. Re: Serie A - Ratings Prediction 2010/2011 (II) Oh ok, thanks for the information. I dimly recall now that he was on loan somewhere but i forgot that.
  6. Re: Serie A - Ratings Prediction 2010/2011 (II) Floro Flores was rated today. I assume Udinese ratings have finished. I don't recall SM ever rating a team over two days.
  7. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) GC 1 Torpedo Moskva still available has a solid squad and some top talents
  8. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) Sparta Praha in GC 1 It has a good number of quality players and talents. International competition almost guaranteed. and Torpedo Moskva is available as well in GC 1. A good squad with some excellent talents in one of the toughest divisions.
  9. Re: Serie A - Ratings Prediction 2010/2011 (II) I am surprised that Giaccherini stayed at 86. He was outstanding for his team and no gain... Hopefully they will correct this when Giaccherini switches clubs.
  10. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge May 19 My team played twice and won both games. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion were beaten 1:0. In the 2nd game ILICIC scored his first goal of the season in his 23rd appearance. This gives me hope that SCHURRLE will be able to get at least one goal as well this season. Leyton Orient has now won four straight without conceeding a goal. My team moved up into 6th. I have no clue why my team is suddenly winning games but i can tell you that it feels unreal somehow. I guess i am not used to it any more. Before the last two games Diego MILITO has left my team again. He stayed for 7 games and scored once. Without him i my team rating is limited to 88. Anyway, news from the transfer market is pretty good as well. Malaga's 21-year old CF Salomon RONDON has joined my squad. He is rated 86 and has scored 14 goals this season in Spain. I have been looking for a CF with potential for a while now and RONDON is just what i needed. Some bigger teams have been watching him and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next season. In return i have to give up 3 players: Fluminense's 87-rated CB Wellington GUM is leaving. He is a good player but i think that his potential is limited to about 88. The same goes for Racing Santander's 86-rated Papakouli DIOP. He is a solid player who should be able to gain a bit more but i don't think that he can reach more than 88 either. The third player who will be leaving is Wolfsburg's new 86-CF Srdjan LAKIC. He scored 16 goals this season which is even more than RONDON has but he is 27. I think LAKIC could rise to 89 next year if he plays well but i don't think that he has the potential to get more than 89 or 90. While GUM played regularly for my team i don't really need any of these three players. And with the big leagues about to be rated again i will probably get some replacements from my talent pool. Chris LOWE plays for Leyton Orient now in GC 1. He is said to be joining Dortmund soon to become SCHMELZER's backup. The player is 22 and cost me about 500k. ManCity's 21-year old LB Ryan MCGIVERN joins from an unmanaged team for 1.4 million. Another player for my young LB collection. I hope one of them will have a breakthrough year next season. Cesar SANTIN was sold for 13 million. SANTIN was a regular for my team but i needed money and with the euro ratings coming up i won't really need him any more. Jonas IVENS left for 7 million one day after his rating increased to 85. Other players that i sold or traded were Hans SALINAS, Andreas TATOS, Joao CARLOS and Cristian MAGANA for a total of less than 5 million. At least a short look at the next ratings. Things look promising: TIFFERT played a huge season at Kaiserslautern with an incredible 17 assists in 34 games. Kicker rates him the 7th best midfielder in Germany this season and the best who is not playing for Dortmund, Leverkusen or Bayern. He should really get an 88 based on performance but i fear he will only get 87. ANIN should get 87. He will probably move this summer and it seems that he could play in the Champions League with Lille. Cesenas's GIACCHERINI did well and should reach 87. I believe he will change clubs as well. SCHURRLE should get 89. It was a huge season for him. LORA could get 88. He was the best player for Sporting Gijon this year. ZURUTUZA should get 87. He established himself in La Liga. RONDON will probably get 87. 88 is scheduled for next season i think. EL ARABI should get 88. He has scored 17 goals so far with 2 games to go. BENATIA, GIROUD, OSPINA and GRIEZMANN could get 88. Now i just need to get my team promoted....
  11. Re: SMFA = Joke But i need those multi-player deals. Its the only way i can improve my team. I have a lot of solid players and i am trying to get a handfull of very good ones. And players is the only currency that really counts in GC 1 as you certainly know. I sent a ticket because of the Independiente thingy as well but apparently SM think everything is fine.
  12. Re: SMFA = Joke I have a deal in GC 1 one going my way for cash, bid has gone through 3 players going the other way. SMFA has intervened on the first transfer which was fine with both chairmen (6.5 million for GUM) now what are we supposed to do? I hate this stupid intervention all the time. It serves no purpose at all. Three weeks ago a new chairman took over Independiente in the same setuop and wrecked the club by selling all good players, then he left. That is the kind of thing SM should watch, not deals by established managers who are just trying to play a game.
  13. Re: Reversed Transfers The problem is that SM apparently has reversed your deal and none of the others. I guess my analysis was wrong. This is pretty unfair by SM.
  14. Re: Transfers being reversed It is because some guy became Independiente manager, sold all good players and left. If people deliberately wreck clubs those deals should get reversed imo.
  15. Re: FERNANDINHO, Luis . sell ?? Ayew seems a huge prospect right now. I am not sure which of the two is the better player but on current form Ayew is much better.
  16. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Normally Rat. He is 89 already and should keep it. He has been missing a few games though and i don't know the reason. Maybe you can google it. But if he stays a regular he will be safe at 89. Fuchs is a good player but he will stay at Mainz and that means that he is probably limited to 87 for now or maybe 88 if he is outstanding. But Mainz might be in a relegation fight next season and in that case Rat is the safer choice.
  17. Re: FERNANDINHO, Luis . sell ?? He is a very good player. He is back from his injury (broken leg) but hasn't found his form yet it seems. If you have the patience you can wait until he gets back into form. When that happens he should rise eventually. If you have better options you might want to pursue them.
  18. Re: Gold Championship 1 News The Independiente manager joined 2 weeks ago, sold the club's best 6 players for cash and now leaves. This is how you wreck a club. I wish new managers would have to manage small clubs for a bit or manage in weak setups before they go to GC 1 and wreak havoc.
  19. Re: Bundesliga Ratings 2010/2011 (III) If SM would rate performance TIFFERT would have to get 88. Imagine he was 22 and not 29, he would be at 88 already. SM is just reluctant to raise older players sometimes.
  20. Re: Swap my Schmelzer for Rami Rami is not getting good grades from french sports journalists while Schmelzer played a huge season and could take over at LB for Germany. Easy choice, keep Schmelzer.
  21. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge May 12 My team played three games since i last updated and with two wins and a tie things brightened up a little. On wednesday one week back Leyton Orient started with a 1:1 away draw at WBA, then on saturday we got a 2:0 home win against Leeds and yesterday my team won 3:0 at Watford. I finally got some striker goals with GIROUD scoring 4 of the 6 goals. Leyton Orient is in 10th and Crystal Palace in 6th is only 2 points ahead now with 10 games to play. The transfer market was fairly uneventful for me. The only player i sold was Andreas TATOS who failed to get an increase when Greece was rated. He left for 1.7 million. New to the team are three players: 19-year old Inter CB/RB NATALINO joined from an unmanaged team. When good teams become unmanaged i usually have no chance to get the more highly-rated players because i will be outbid by teams who have a more lenient chairman. Thats why i often try to go for uncontested bids. NATALINO was one of these and joined on the cheap for 450k. Dominik GLAVINA was on my shortlist for a long time and when another team went for him i checked his performance and decided to make an offer as well. The 18-year old AM is rated 77 and plays for Varazdin. I paid 1.7 million. Last i went for 26-year old Kuban CB ZELAO. Kuban is doing very good in Russia this season (2nd place right now) and ZELAO is one of their best players. He is rated 86 and cost me 6.7 million. He will probably be sold in 10 weeks but if Kuban continues to do well i might wait for the next russian ratings and hope for an 87. My squad is overcrowded again and i will have to make some sales soon. The problem is that most of my players are risers and i find it really difficult to decide who to sell these days. It takes a lot of time to keep track of the player performance of a big team like mine. One positive note is that i have been able to stabilize my wage bill at 2.3 million a game. The answer are loans. Leyton Orient now has the 2nd biggest loan squad in GC 1 with 34 players currently loaned out. The summer transfer season is slowly about to start and Thomas PEKHART is one of the first players from my team to get a move. He will play for Nurnberg in Bundesliga 1 next season. I seem to have hit the jackpot with Vitoria de Guimaraes CB Mahamadou N'DIAYE. He has become a regular immediately and is being tipped for a multi-million transfer to Benfica this summer. I hope the rumors are true. In the Americas i still have a few players in the Copa Libertadores. From Santos (who are the last brazilian club) my players ADRIANO and ZE EDUARDO helped beat Caldas yesterday and MARTINUCCIO scored against Universidad Catolica in a 2:0 win for Penarol. CANTEROS (Velez Sarsfield) as well as HERNANDEZ and PEDROZA (Jaguares de Chiapas) are still in the competition as well and play tonight.
  22. Re: A deal has left me Bankrupt ! I had a team 40 million in debt before they changed the rules. 40 million is no problem.
  23. Re: The Leyton Orient Challenge May 2 Leyton Orient played two games. On sunday my 87-rated backup team lost 0:2 at home to 85-rated Crystal Palace and today my 89-rated first team lost 1:2 at home to 83-rated 3rd league team Cardiff City. The Cup pretty much was my only hope to salvage the season but now i have to clutch at straws in the league. I really don't mind some strange results occasionally but this season is so bad it doesn't feel realistic any more. Its like having a first division side like Tottenham or Everton in the Championship and losing one game after another. My 88-rated striker SCHURRLE played 22 games, hasn't scored once and today even got a red. Can you imagine SCHURRLE not scoring once in 22 Championship games? I would really like to ask SM if they have added any new features to the match engine that weren't properly tested. Ah well, enough complaining. Maybe there will be better days ahead. It can't really get much worse after all. I aquired three new players. Daniel SALVATIERRA joined from Newell's. The 21-year old Fwd is becoming a regular but i may have overpaid at 2 million. We will see. Alexander BANNINK joins from FC Twente. He cost me 1 million. The player hasn't played lately but a barely 21 this seems a good gamble to me. Eric MOULOUNGUI joins from OGC Nice for almost 6 million. The 27-year old Fwd is a regular and Nice's best striker and i bought him as a moneymaker. I think i can gain 4-5 million with this deal. If i get lucky and he gets 87 with the next rating i would gain a lot more. Linus HALLENIUS left the team. He was loaned out to a 2nd division Swiss team by Genoa and doesn't even play there regularly. I may have sold too early but then again i got 2.7 million and can always buy another talent.
  24. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) Couple decent teams available in GC 1: Independiente Kobenhavn Feyenoord to be available soon: Sevilla Sochaux
  25. Re: Player Position Overhaul I am quite sceptical because working those player positions into the DB will take additional time and that means slower ratings. i would suggest to first implement a system that allows players to make rating and/or position suggestions. If this was done well it would speed up the ratings process and eliminate mistakes instead of slowing it down.
