Lensois got a reaction from Herbythelovebug in Ioannis Fetfatzidis
    Ioannis Fetfatzidis

    Age: 19
    Nationality: Greek
    Position: Midfielder
    Club: Olympiacos

Ionnais comes from a footballing familiy. His father was a lower league player and most notably played for Glyfada and Sourmena. Just in the latter team, his son, Ioannis, started his career. In his early teens, he moved to the perhaps biggest outfit in Greece, Olympiacos. Ioannis turned down offers from the other Athen based teams, AEK Athens and Panathinaikos, as Olympiacos offered him the same help Barca 4 years earlier offered Messi - Growth hormone treatment.
It took 5 years before Fetfatzidis sat his foot in the Olympiacos a-team. Fetfatzidis' playingstyle reminded the then coach, Zico, a Samba player playingstyle. In October 2009, after injuries on several players, Zico didn't hesitate in giving Ioannis a chance to prove himself. Ioannis took the chance he was given and was awarded with some minutes in Champions League days later in the clash against Standard Liege. Soon Zico got fired and many thought this would be the end of Fetfazidis' time in the a-squad (for now) and that he would go back the academy squad. However, for the rest of the season Fetfatzidis was still constantly named in the a-squad of Olympiacos for every matchday, but he still wasn't a regular player in the starting XI. This despite Olympiacos beeing managed by 3 different coaches within 6 months!

In the summer of '10, Fetfatzidis was hailed by the new coach of Olympiacos, Ewad Lienen, and Lienen said ''he had big plans for Ioannis'' and aswell ''Ioannis will be a future superstar''. However, after just a couple of weeks in charge, Lienen was fired and in came the former Villarreal coach, Ernesto Valverde.
Under Valverde, Fetfarzidis has been getting opportunities after opportunities and he has been the biggest revelation in the Superliga so far. He has been so impressive that he has already been called up to play for Greece in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. He was called up to play be in the Greece team that would face Israel earlier this month. After beginning on the bench, Ioannis was subbed in early into game as Ninis got himself injured. Ioannis torned apart the Israelian defence and despite it beeing his first cap, he was playing like it would have been his 100. If it weren't for an inconsisten Salpagidis, Ioannis might have gotten away from the game with 5 assists in his first game for Greece. Fetfatzidis was voted man of the match aswell in his debut.
In September, Olympiacos put an €12.5 million release clause on his contract and reinforced his contract until 2015.
Ioannis doesn't only have the growth problem in common with Messi, but their playing-style aswell. Speed, technique, ball-control and creativity are just some of the tools Fetfatzidis possesses. Ioannis has quickly taken both the Super League fans and the Olympiacos fans to their hearts.

A rise to around the 80 mark, that's what the future (in terms of SM) is looking for the youngster, Luca Siligardi. He has quickly taken a starting spot for the low-budget spending team, Bologna, and of course Inter are happy with his development, as it is hard for young players to get a starting spot in a Serie A team. That might make you think he is an extra ordinary player, but don't be fooled, he isn't. At the best, I can see as a squad player for a top half team in Serie A or as a starter for a lower half Serie A team. However, this will still don't stop his big rise!

Re: Official Bundesliga Discussion Thread 2010/11
    We're screwed.
Although we haven't conceded a goal for 2 games in a row' date=' which is very good considering we have Metzelder in the defence, I just think we will lose and big time, that is. With no area clicking well (perhaps only Jones, but he'll miss this game), I just think we will find it hard when attacking Leverkusen visits Gelsenkirschen. If the defence can play sloppy against teams like Mönchengladbach, then things will get ugly against Leverkusen. Although they played full 120 minutes in the cup and has many key players out injured for this game (Castro, Hypiä and Kiessling with more...), I just think they'll prove to be to much for [b']this[/b] Schalke team.
Schalke aswell faced some Dritte Liga team in the cup and it was 90 minutes of horror to watch, really. If it weren't for Jurado's goal, we would be on every sportspage in Germany with the headline ''Devistating defeat for Die Die Königsblauen''. That team we faced had the game and the defence took the game for grated and made some errors, which with some luck, could have gone the other teams way. Speaking about the defence, I hope Papadopoulos plays. I genuine thinks he the best defender Schalke has in their hands, and he is only 18! Metzelder certainly looks more comftorable than during the very first games of the season, but meh, I still don't trust in him. Höwedes haven't been much better, but atleast he is still developable and is sometime a great defender. So, Papadopoulos and Höwedes in the central defence, in my opinion. The LB and RB position is the biggest weakness in this team, as neither Schmitz nor Uchida have been impressing. I can't wait till Hoogland and Pander comes back from their injuries. I hope aswell we will Pliatsikas on this pitch, he has some defensive talents in him and is aswell very versilate as he can play on the midfield and in the middle. With Uchida and Schmitz not been impressive and Jones beeing injured, I hope we'll see him on the pitch. For the rest positions on the pitch - They're pretty much solid: Rakitic-Farfan-Jurado-Raul-Huntelaar.
I hope we get our first win at home, but I'm pretty sceptical to that: 0-3 to Leverkusen.

Luis Cavanda has definately been a suprise figure in a very strong Lazio team (it was years ago since they were this strong!). He might be a bit of unpolished gold-plate, but he certainly has the potential of beeing a future star defender. As many Africans, Cavanda possesses a strong physic and we could aswell add that he is very good with the ball-control and in the air. Thus he can handle both the RB slot and the CB slot relative easily. With older guys like Andre Dias and Biava in the defence, Cavanda really has good mentors he could be teached a thing or two from. The future definately looks bright for this Belgian-Angolian prodigy.

Lensois got a reaction from Nikidinho in Oumar Pouye
    Oumar Pouye

    Name: Oumar Pouye
    Nationality: Senegalese
    Age: 22
Club: FC Metz (on loan at Évian TG this season though)
    Position: Midfielder
Pouye came to Metz in 2006. In his first year at Metz he was mostly played in the reserv team of Metz. Under the catastrophic season Metz had during the 07/08 season, which also saw a relegation for them, Pouye got some chances and got to feel the heat on the highest level. As I mentioned above though, Metz got relegated and in order for Pouye to keep developing (Metz made it clear to him that he wouldn't be a starter for them as they were looking for direct promotion and therefore they would put their faith on the more ''experienced players''), he was sent out on loan to National League (Div 3) side, Évian TG. However, it's got to be said that Yvon Pouliquen (the then coach for Metz) trusted in Pouye's talent and therefore instead of selling him, he was sent out on loan by Metz.
At Évian Pouye took a starting spot directly after his arrival, and enjoyed a very succesful loan-spell at Évian. In the summer of '09, he was expected to seriously push for a starting place at Metz after his succesful spell at Évian TG. However, as Pouliquen now wasn't the Metz coach, Pouye got the message that he wasn't needed at Metz. So, Pouye was sent back to Évian for another season on loan. As during the season before, Pouye took a starting place immidiately and was a key-player in the squad who earned promotion to Ligue 2.
In the summer of 2010, Pouye was sent out on another season long loan to Évian, meaning that he has now spent three seasons on loan there. So far, he has been starting every game for Évian in their first ever season in Ligue 2, and Pouye has played an important part so far, as Évian supringsly is standing as the 2nd placed team in the league with 13 points.
What can we say about Pouye's playing-style then? First of all, he certainly has the speed, he also has a good vision for the game and he enjoys a good technique. I also got to say that his one-on-one play is of a very high standard. These tools are certainly useful for a winger of Pouye's calibre.

People have never respected us for some reason..We'll always be 'old' and ignored. I quite like it this way actually. People will just keep underrating us but with how Ibrahimovic and Pato have been connecting and playing, alongside a motivated Dinho, still the best creative player in the world imo, we'll always cause problems. We were written off last season, with a worser manager and a worser XI, so whatever. People who criticise us, don't watch us, probably don't even know how good Pato and Thiago Silva really are, and will hopefully learn something tonight.

    Who Shall I Buy?

Genoa (or namely Enrico Preziozi) is always a club that is active on the transfermarket. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way. In the case with Andrea Ranocchia, it was a bad choice to do what Genoa decided to do: Sell half of him to Inter. Rannochia has so far been outstanding in the perhaps most attacking team in Serie A. Playing alongside 2 defenders isn't easy, but for Ranocchia it is. About six months ago, he was playing in a four-mans-defence, and now in a 3-mans-defence. Last year, Andrea Esposito couldn't handle the tactical changes and he was last year thoughted as a major prospect, but Ranocchia has handle the tatical switch quite easily. Again, it's a bit of a brain-challenge to see why he hasn't been called-up to play with Italy. However, I'm sure as the time goes by, he will have himself cemented a starting place for Italy.

Don't take this the wrong way' date=' but if I have listed risers and droppers under each teams respective crests and you couldn't find Quagliarella's name under Juve, why do you ask me these kinds of questions?
He is doing okay, but he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders even though he came to Genoa as a free-agent. I mean, his wages are reportedly to be worth 4M € per season, which by far makes him the top-earner in Genoa. So far, he has done well, but as soon as he don't perform, he has a chance of dropping as he is neither a national team player anymore nor playing for a team that is competing in Europe. He has a higher chance of staying than dropping though at the moment.

    Re: Raphael Holzhauser
In my opinion, Holzhauser's chances of getting minutes with A-squad has increased significally. I mean, the new coach for Stuttgart's A-squad is Jens Keller, who previously coached the Stuttgart II team. Now, as Keller was the coach who gave Holzhauser the opportunity to play in Dritte liga with Stuttgart II despite beeing only 17, I can see Keller aswell giving Holzhauser opportunities to play for the A-squad, as Holzhauser perhaps has been the best performer for Stuttgart II and the fact that both of them are very familiar with each other (obviously).
Keller also prefers a 4-2-3-1 formation. Gentner hasn't been impressive in the middle with Kuzmanovic, so we might see Genter getting kicked to the left, as it was in that position he made his name at Wolfsburg. Then, with only Kuz as availble option as a playemaker, Holzhauser may become first-option back-up to Kuz if everything goes as planned, as none of the midfielders (bar Kuz) in Stuttgart are playmakers, so Holzhauser, with his box-to-box play may get many minutes this season with Stuttgart.

Josip Ilicic has showed why the Palermo president, Maurizio Zamparini, and the rest of the Palermo board decided to invest a couple of millions € in both him and his fellow countrymen, Armin Bacinovic. The flair, techincal bit and the one-on-one situations are Ilicic's strongest sides and Ilicic and Pastore has created a feared Argentinian-Slovenian attacking-duo. With his powerful shot, Ilicic is aswell a danger on set-pieces.

    Raphael Holzhauser

    Age: 17
    Nationallity: Austrian
    Position: Midfielder
    Club: Stuttgart
    His Career:

Holzhauser, was born in Austria in February '93. After playing around at different local clubs, Holzhauser moved to his first professional team in Wiener Neustadt. In his early teens, Holzhauser attracted interested from Schwaben land where Stuttgart were waiting. Horst Heldt did everything in his way to secure this Austrian talent, and as the time went, nobody could ever blame Heldt.
Holzhauser started out playing for the younger teams of Stuttgart before eventually making his way up to Dritte Liga (the 3rd division in Germany) and to Stuttgart II. So far, he has been nailing a starting place in the Stuttgart II team and has been perhaps the best performer and has literally been taking out everything in his way with his physics. These performances haven't gone un-noticed and Holzhauser has recently be thoughted to try to his luck with the A-squad. However, Gross is a stubborn coach (Timo knows) and despite all these performances and haillings, it might take to long before Gross realizes what golden glimp he has in his hands.

    Internationally:

Holzhauser has pretty easily walked through the different ranks of the Austrian national teams. He is currently playing for *be ready*... the Austrian U-21 team! So, at the age of 17 he has already secured a starting-spot at a team with guys 4 years older than him. Impressive to say the least!

    Playing-Style:

Holzhauser is kind of like the typical box-to-box-player. He is good with the ball, has a hard-hitting boot, good vision for the game and with his 193 CM long body, he can be used aswell as the ideal ''warrior'' every team wants to have on their central-midfield.
If I have to compare him with another player it would have to be Mathieu Bodmer.

They say that the three men upfronts (Diamanti-Caracciolo-Eder) will be the players that will take Brescia to new heights. No disrespect to them, but surely Hetemaj deserves a bit of cred, no? The work-rate, sacrificing playing-style and box-to-box play has impressed on every Il Calcio lover. Now we can hope Stuart Baxter and Hetemaj forget the past and he can return to play for the Finnish national team.

No one can get a 90 at Catania if they don't get out in Europe. Andujar is a great keeper though, and if he moves to a higher club, he will rise to 90 (and beyond). At the moment it looks like Maxi Lopez will stay.
