Re: Official Russian Premier League '09 Thread Ben, your thoughts on Christian Noboa of Rubin please? I notice he has played 14 of the 20 matches that Rubin have played in the championship this season and he has also made his international debut for Ecuador in March of this year playing in 6 WC qualifiers and scoring 2 goals in the process. What with Champions League appearances in the offing too, should we expect a rise in the next Russian changes? Thanks.

Re: Viktor Svezhov, Russian Gem.. Played quite decently, although Dinamos' midfield was stifled somewhat by Celtics, plus he won't now be playing in the Champions League after their 0-2 defeat. But in saying that, he certainly does look like a decent prospect and will certainly be deserving of a 5/6 rise if carrying on his current form in his domestic championship.

Re: Berg or Dzeko Dzeko, great Bundesliga with Wolfsburg last season, Champions league beckoning and he also banged them in for Bosnia, who may yet qualify for the WC, 2nd in their group behind Spain, but 4 points clear of Turkey in the race for a play-off spot.

Re: Striker Dilemma - Who Should I Sign? It would be Acquafresca for me, excellent potential IMHO and hopefully he will continue to flourish next season at wherever he decides to play. Mourinho has decided that there is no spot available at the San Siro for him, quite remarkable, when you consider that he has scored 24 goals in 75 Serie A appearances.

Re: Cm's ?? [potential risers !] Gojko Kacar, a 22 year old Serbian, rated at 88 would fit the bill, although he is classified as a DM/CM. He starred for the Serbian U21s' in the recent UEFA Tournament, playing for 270 minutes in their three matches scoring one goal. He has also played 6 full internationals with the Serbs. He will also feature in The Europa League with Hertha Berlin next season. Domestically he had an excellent return of 6 goals in 25 appearances last season, so perhaps a rise of 1or 2 could be forthcoming in the next German changes?

Re: Martin Laursen sell him he's finished. As can be seen by Villas' form since January, a huge hole to fill in the centre of their defence. One of the most consistent defenders in the EPL in the last two seasons IMO.
