If your team is successful, (routinely making Champion's League), that should be taken into account.

Look at Claudio Pizarro, all those years he sat on the bench at Bayern, because he liked trophies and money. He's hardly a unique case.

My biggest issue with the current SM design philosophy is that it tries to punish players for being good, which has never ended well for any game studio, ever. On top of it, in this case, being a very unrealistic reflection of how players react.

It is absolutely obvious that if a player receives a ratings bump up, the game instantly assumes he was always that rating and is using it for Concerns calculations. Feels pretty lazy. You see a lot of players bump from say, 86 to 88, and instantly get concerned about match time.

It's doubly stupid since concerns now also bork player values.

Seeing way too many players switch to a strategy of just loading up on overrated, cheap geezers who put together couldn't finish 10th in Serie A but somehow in this game can win Champion's League, because it's just not worth it to actually know anything about the sport and have good prospects anymore. You can either play some 21 year old full time whose rating is too low for him to really deserve the spot to prevent concerns, or buy some 35 year old rated 2 higher for a quarter as much money and win.

The old system was bad, the concerns system has stunk from the beginning, but it was miles better than this. Blessed are the custom leagues where people remembered to turn the feature off altogether.

And once again, this incredibly broken system rears it's head. Saed Kolasinac bumps from 87 to 89 and INSTANTLY gains a concern as if he had always been 89. His value is now INSTANTLY less than what it is because of this absurd nonsense that players with concerns now have their transfer value gimped.

Lowest rated starter in my team is a 90.

So now I can play a guy that doesn't actually belong in the squad, or sell him at a gimped value. What a great way to reward players that actually know something about the sport!

This system is totally broken and the entire thing needs to be scrapped completely. Stop pandering to a vocal minority of two dozen people on the forums that think having a good bench is a criminal offense.

I tried the new interface but am back with the original.  It has all the information I need to play the game in an easy to use format.
The new one is slower perhaps that is all the shiny new graphics but unfortunately it takes longer to do the same and is not user friendly at all, sorry SM.

And the point of this is? Why don't you spend time fixing the issues that have caused so many people to quit the game rather than on unwanted features the make the player experience worse?

This is the biggest red herring that people who enjoy complaining have wasted people's time with for years. I've yet to really see a single convincing argument that it's something the SM staff should be stepping in over.

If they were going to, I'll begin taking the squad size discussion seriously when there is an option to punish people carrying a completely unrealistic squad of 21 players with top division teams, watching people pull two for one trade swaps to get hold of every 93+ rated player they can and getting down to a minimum sized all star team. This, to me, is far far worse, and far more boring, far more damaging, than punishing people for carrying the real life squad size of Juventus or Real Madrid. There is nothing remotely interesting about that, and on top of that most of the actual good managers don't do it, which says something.

I have played for 6 years now, and honestly, I can't name a single worthwhile league I've ever played in full of "21 star players and nothing else" managers, and seen very few ruined by people that read the IBWM 100. That's just my personal opinion, but it's never been hard finding that many other managers seem to agree.

Let's also not kid ourselves. It's not the SM staff's job to moderate and hand hold people that join public leagues, see manager styles they hate, and choose to stay instead of joining one of the other 50 000 available leagues. It's not as if finding a league that suits you is hard. And if you already have a top team and a new manager you don't like joins, what do you care? You should be winning anyway. The solution is to stop joining leagues with awful managers in it (however you personally choose to define "awful manager").

I'd really prefer if an incredibly small minority of complainers just learned to moderate themselves, instead of screaming FIX IT for all of eternity. It is not the SM's staff's job to tell every individual player how to play, it never has been, and it really seems like something that would be a huge amount of work for very, very little possible payoff with huge amounts of attached frustration.

It's a shame as I was looking forward to this feature being added, but it just doesn't make the matchdays better. The old match commentaries are much better. I can't imagine anyone will use this.

It's embarrassing that on social media they continue to throw around the word "improvements" for making people in many cases click more buttons than before to perform exactly the same actions. There's not a web design class in the world you'd get that through on.

I'm really not sure why they bothered with opening up the whole process to feedback at all because they've clearly taken next to none of it to heart, and in many cases seem to be doing exactly the opposite of what their own player base has been asking for.

They also broke the match engine so blatantly, there are undefeated or one loss teams in every single league that I play and this has gone on for months without any adjustments, but hey, at least people can no longer play Eden Hazard in any position whatsoever in a 3-5-2 and that was clearly the biggest problem Soccer Manager faced.

The game has really gone steadily downhill for 18 months and I only play anymore out of habit. With the proper interphase killed off for a blatantly worse one, there doesn't seem to be much reason to continue.
