    Re: Official Arsenal Thread
The one thing I dont like about some fans is they are quick to critisize any player for a mistake. Yess he should be told that his performance wasnt great but over the few years at arsenal he has done more right than wrong. If anyone remember the double save he did against liverpool after that performance people were calling him world class and now he is not that anymore because he had a poor game against the saints.. I have full confidence in him and he should start against city if he is fit dropping him would be a big blow to him and his confidence will drop even more. Mannone has played well but in no way he is better than Szczesny and i doubt he ever will he has been at Arsenal for a long time and hasnt progressed. I hope he proves me wrong.

'I'm not finished in the Transfer Market' insists the New Arsenal Manager

    The new's comes today from Anfield where the new Arsenal Manager Kevin Heaton made his first pre-match conference for the Gunners;

Sky Sports - Do you feel the team has prepared well for this match with everything that's happened this week?
Kevin - Obviously it's been difficult to get all preparations done before this match i've only been here 3 days and most of that i've been travelling with my negotiator's to sort out new transfers, but I feel we are well prepared and I hope that we can make a push for the Champions League now,
Sky Sports - Is Henry fit enough to start?
Kevin - Henry is not perfectly match fit, he's barely played this season but he's reacted well to pre-match training today enough that I have named him on the bench, there is a chance he could come off the bench but for now I have confidence in my starting line-up.
Goal.com - News is that Gervinho has not travelled with the squad due to an impending transfer to Newcastle, is this true?
Kevin - Yes it is, we made an offer to Newcastle for Iker which has been accepted, I asked if it was okay to play Cech due to the lack of goalkeeping options we have that was allowed but Gervinho has travelled to complete his medical and discuss personal terms, as soon as the match is done we'll allow Cech to travel as well with Iker coming to the Emirates to discuss terms.
Talksport - Puyol has come in for huge money is there an added pressure for him to succeed?
Kevin - Obviously there is but i've talked to Puyol and told him to play his natural game because he is good enough, Money is just a number and I don't want his price tag to add un-needed pressure, he's playing alongside some of the best defenders in the league and he's a veteran as well he knows how to play I have no worries.
Sky Sports - Are you finished in the transfer market now?
Kevin - Haha no, not yet, I probably never will, I'm always looking for players to improve the squad with, we have Iker coming in tomorrow, Ba on the way, Diaby in the pipeline, Arunzubia has also traveled to take a medical, i've inquired about other players and I'm hoping to build a team to suit my tactics.
Goal.com - You travel to the team who you support and no doubt still support and after a somber week for the club off the pitch how do you feel about this game?
Kevin - It's been a week where the truth came out, the fans will make this game almost impossible for us, but we've supported them and we are happy for them, obviously for me supporting Liverpool it's been an emotional week, I hope to channel that into a good performance from us, We'll be looking to win this match, we have aspirations for the Champions League that we need to keep.

Could David Beckham Be Waving His Final Goodbye To Preston?

Following speculation that Leyton Orient were interested in signing Preston North End’s David Beckham after his contract expires this year, Wolves sporting director Dennis Bergkamp has come out of the woodwork and threw his hat into the mix. Speaking to BBC Sport, Bergkamp said:
As Becks has previously stated that he wants to bow out of the game on a high note, a season spent circulating the sub bench will certainly not be the most respectable of finales for one of the greatest footballers of this generation.

Wolves Manager Singh 'Will Come Good' According To Bournemouth Boss Ryan Clarke.
Wolves manager Rajveer Singh must feel like he has been to hell and back with his clubs recent form, Wolves are in a sorry state as they look destined to finish near the bottom of Division 4, and with fans calling for Singh to be axed after just 10 games Bournemouth manager Ryan Clarke has come out in support of the manager along with the legendary James Burrow. Here is what Ryan said.
For a manager to have his own fans against him after just 10 games is astounding, he hasn't been given a chance, the club's in a sorry state and there is no denying that but to place the blame on someone who hasn't had enough time to make a mark on the club is crazy, absolutely mental. I've been here for 5 games, so if you told me in 5 games I'd be getting booed and the fans wanted me out I'd call you an idiot. I honestly can't believe it, sometimes I can sympathise with fans who want the manager out, but I'm talking about manager's who have had time to get things right, not people like Singh.
I believe, if given the time Singh can come good for Wolves and bring them back up the table and eventually out of Division 4 and back to the good times, whether or not he is given the time isn't anything to do with me, I am here for Ravjeer Singh, no manager should be given this after 10 games.

Preston manager supports Wolves' Singh as axe looms
Preston manager James Burrow has issued a message of support to under-fire Wolves manager Rajveer Singh, who has been the subject of intense criticism and speculation regarding his future at the lowly Division Four club.
Sixth placed finishers in the top flight in Season 9, and a top half Division 2 side just four seasons ago, Wolves have fallen through the proverbial trapdoor, with consecutive relegations in Seasons 13 and 14 seeing the club languishing in 79th place out of 80 English League teams. Wolves fans have seen three managers at the helm so far this season, with the experienced Singh brought in off the back of spells at Swindon and Rushden and Diamonds. However, he has failed to arrest a run of 11 games without victory, and is without a win since joining the club. This has caused those Wolves fans who have bothered to turn up at Molineux to voice their anger at both the manager and the chairman Jez Moxey, however Burrow, who has been at the helm of his hometown club Preston for an amazing 636 games, has pointed the blame at previous Wolves regimes:
"All this stick aimed at Rajveer is just wrong! He's been at the club for just over a month and in that month, Wolves fans expected him to work miracles. Wolves have suffered from poor management both at pitch-side and board level over the seasons. While I've been at Preston I've seen 13 managers at the helm of that club, with only 6 of those managers been given at least a full season in charge. Going through this many managers means that the squad is a mis-mash of other managers thoughts. It doesn't shock me that only eight different players have scored for them this season, and that their top scorer only has five, the players just look lost on the field.
If I had a message for the Wolves fans, who have gone through so much through the seasons, it would be to give your backing to Rajveer. The last thing that club needs is another managerial casualty. Let him make his mark on the squad, and give him chance to settle. We recently brought a bad run of form to an end, and when you walk into the training ground on Monday morning and see smiles instead of frowns, it really helps going into the next game."
In related news, Blackpool parted company with GeorgeECFC earlier this morning, despite steering the Tangerines towards a top half finish for the 4th consecutive season. News of his departure will no doubt add extra cheer to Preston fans after their 3-1 victory on Saturday, but his name is added to an increasingly long list of experienced managerial casualties this season, most notably Sean Fitzpatrick, Germ, Phillip Gibbon, Hannah Barker, Michael Flounders and Scout Maker.

Sorry Wolves set for another defeat at Molineux

Fans Go Into Tears After Yet Another Defeat

Wolverhampton Wanderers look like a club condemned and could well lose again, even against a Peterborough side with nothing to play for.
In the week that the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s ill-fated voyage is being commemorated, Wolverhampton Wanderers are paying their own tribute by being the Division 4 very own sinking ship.
And there can be no doubt as to whom to point the finger at for the irretrievable situation the Molineux club find themselves in: step forward chief executive Jez Moxey, owner Steve Morgan and very own manager Mr Singh
Moxey might look like Dom Joly’s 9-5 working brother, but not even Trigger Happy TV provided as many laughs as Wolves this season.
When someone writes the book on disastrous decisions taken by people in suits who sit in football club boardrooms then chapter one will focus on the hapless pair’s judgment of Mr Singh..
The sooner Wolves are put out of their misery the better for everyone concerned, and another nail in their Division 4 coffin is going to be hammered in by Peterborough at the Molineux on Wednesday.
Unsurprisingly, Peterborough are strong favourites at 12/25 to pick up three points, with the draw quoted at 16/5 and Wolves understandable outsiders at 11/2.

Yeah I think that's a decent offer. Kjaer won't rise this season but he's still a very talented defender who'll have a bright future most likely. Don't know that much about Zarate (Lazio right?), but as far as I know he's an average talented forward so your not losing someone special. And I guess he's not your best forward?

Whats the point buying ferdinand went he is not going to be playing in the first team as you have chelini and terry.Furthermore ferdinand's wages would cost more than hummels and subotic combined if am not wrong.Lastly you should look what's best for your team in the future and i feel subotic or hummels would be the right choice

Kevin Nolan used Sky News to reveal that he would join Everton after Newcastle United accepted an improved offer from Manveer's side and the deal was concluded just hours later.
The 28-year-old passed a medical at Everton's training ground before signing a four-and-a-half year contract.
"We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Newcastle United and Kevin Nolan for the player's transfer to the Club,'' a statement on Everton's website said.
Manveer admitted Borussia Dortmund's interest in Kevin Nolan would ruin his chances of signing the former Bolton star after Newcastle United accepted Borussia Dortmund's offer, also $6 million.

Rocchi and Lazio Run Riot At Stuttgart's Expense

Following Lazio's defeat in the SMFA Shield away to Flamengo, few Lazio fans would be looking forward to their away trip to the German side Stuttgart, but those who made the trip would've left the Mercedes-Benz Arena delighted, as Lazio vice-captain Tommaso Rocchi (pictured above) put in a fantastic all-round performance to help his side to a massive 5-1 victory over the German outfit.
The match could hardly have started any better for the Italian side as centre back Giuseppe Biava fired his side into the lead after just 3 minutes with a powerful right-footed shot. Lazio goalkeeper Buffon was forced into action 5 minutes later to keep his side in front, but a clever pass from Stuttgart's Pavel Pogrebnyak put central midfielder Kuzmanovic in the clear, and the Serbian made no mistake in driving the ball past Buffon to put his side back on level terms. However, this was going to be the last moment of note for the German side, as even though they managed to create more goal-scoring opportunities, Lazio showed them how to make the most of them, as Stuttgart's defence gave Ledesma too much time in the box on 25 minutes, putting his side back in front. Shortly after, Pasquale Foggia was released by a long ball to make the score 3-1 at the break.
Shortly after the break, Rocchi showed off his predatory instincts to make it 4, and if there was already no way back into the match for Stuttgart, Stefano Celozzi guaranteed that after being sent off for a dangerous two-footed tackle. To round off the scoring, Rocchi once again popped up to convert a cross with a powerful header that beat Ulreich in the German goal. With still 20 minutes on the clock left to play, Lazio started to pass the ball among themselves more, and although Stuttgart managed a few more efforts, they weren't able to produce anything that Gianluigi Buffon couldn't handle, as the game finished with a huge win for the Italian side.
Naturally, Lazio's manager, Richard Lobb, was delighted with the nature of the performance, but made it clear that it's still very early in the season, and his team are already preparing for their trip to Besiktas on Saturday.
    Lazio Unveil Coentrao

During a short stop in the Italian capital before his team jet off to Turkey in preparation for their league match away to Besiktas, Richard Lobb held a press conference outside Lazio's training ground to introduce Lazio's newest signing to the media. It had already been confirmed that 3 players, Mauro Zarate, Stefan Radu and Fernando Muslera had reached an agreement to leave the Italian club, with their destination, Benfica, revealed following their transfers to Portugal, Lazio had previously remained coy over who they were set to receive in return.
Three Benfica players were all revealed to the media, but it's left back Fabio Coentrao who received the most attention from the press. Coentrao, a Portugese international, expressed that whilst he was reluctant to leave a club that had given him so much since he joined Benfica, having made his international debut whilst on the books there, he couldn't resist the move to the Italian capital, and to a club that he believes has similar ambitions to him. He also stated that he is delighted that other Portugese speakers Nicolás Gaitan and Alan Kardec have also joined him at Lazio, and hopes that their presence will aid all 3 of them to blend into their new team as soon as possible. In contrast to Coentrao and Gaitan's deal, Kardec has joined Lazio in a season-long loan, that will also see Fernando Muslera return to the club at the end of the season.
All 3 players will also be available to represent Lazio in the much publicised Youth Cup, joining other signings such as Eden Hazard in the side. Lazio's manager has indicated that he is still looking to push through some more deals for his Youth Cup squad before tomorrow's registration deadline.

Hull city have appointed Rajveer Singh as the clubs new manager on a 5 year deal

I am honoured and privileged to have been given this opportunity at one of the truly great clubs in English football,"
His first match in charge of the club, who are 12th in the Premier League, is at away to Portsmouth on Saturday.
I bring great drive, desire and commitment. It is my aim to build on that now and take this club forward
As a manager Singh has taken charge of more than 1000 games, though the majority of those were not in England.
"I understand what this club means to its supporters,"Singh added on Friday.
"Throughout the football world people recognise that this is a unique club in many ways, with supporters who are second to none in their loyalty, passion and devotion for the team.
"I'm not a Tiger of course, but I'm a football person with a love of the game and I can assure you I bring great drive, desire and commitment to the job.
"I have always managed teams that have played attacking positive football, something I know the supporters here appreciate.
"At the same time I intend to focus on developing exciting young players through the club's excellent Academy and development squad, and I know the board here at KC Stadium are very committed to that too."
Sky Sports 5 live's senior football reporter Ian Dennis said: "The length of contract underlines one thing - this is not a knee-jerk reaction and that Singh, who has always been on the club's radar for a considerable period of time, is part of the owners long-term strategic plan.
