Continued playing the reserves for the final. They were smashed in the stats and only won on pens but meh, what can you do, go match engine. Commiserations to Newcastle who can feel rightly peeved.

I've just read the last 48 hours of thread and although enjoyable I'm geriatric and now almost too tired to post...
Regarding F1, you can make all the changes you want during testing and official practice but when qualifying ends the cars sit in Parc fermé. Not to be touched. You race what you qualified with.
Interestingly (probs only for me), I was working on the corner of the Shu/Hill shunt on the Saturday of that race weekend in Adel. Turned down the offer of the Sunday and watched the race on tv from home (3kms away, windows open for stereo sound). Could've witnessed a bit of F1 history had I not been so lazy. Story of my life really.
Anyway, we at Bristol Rovers couldn't care less if our Div3 Semi opponents Norwich City rope in Messi, Ronaldo and the Pope himself as I suspect they'll trash us anyway. Either way, I will be serving up our regular dish of Spam as usual. Our squad of idiots deserve the chance to be heroes.

    Tripods v Chesterfield
    preview

Evonne Goolagong writes.........Following their fine victory over league leaders Dagenham and Redbridge at last night the Scunds entertain second place Chesterfield at Glanford Park on Wedensday night in a mouth watering divison 4 clash. The Tripods go to game missing influential midfielder Franco Zuculini out for 5 weeks after catching knock knees at Victoria road but are bolstered by the addition of on loan Spurs defender Fernando Tobio who escapes the pollution and crime of the smoke in a season long move. Ahead of the game heres a short Scunds guide to Chesterfield ….
    1. Situated in the sleepy Deryshire countryside, Chesterfield sits on the confluence ( whatever the hell that is?) of the rivers Rother and Hipper. In a typically coarse Northern fashion these roaring torrents have been combined by male locals to provide a nickname for their woman folk….the Chesterfield Rippers.
    2. The most famous of the Chesterfield rippers is of course none other than page three stunner and soft core starlet Jo Guest. The one time Fleet street darling, the obliging but nevertheless rough Jo went on to make a fortune in such Northern based adult productions as ‘ our lass Jo gets mucky down’t pit’ and the unforgettable ‘ Ey Opp? appen is that a whippet?'

    Ray and Chesterfields rubbish church

    3. Like everywhere up North Chesterfield was at one time home to a thriving coal mining industry until of course the simple but greedy townsfolk turned to Socalism and followed their evil toupee wearing leader Arthur Scargill into the ill fated 1985 miners strike. After being soundly beaten about the head by their betters the mines where shut down and turned into much more useful places such as Tescos and a host of other out of town cathedrals of consumerism, with each providing scores of part-time jobs for the undeserving shirkers of the National Union of Mineworkers. Still, unlike their miserable Yorkshire colleagues the good people of Chesterfield can now joke about those dark days and its this sense of humour that led to the legendary quip…
What's the difference between Arthur Scargill and moon walking legend Michael Jackson?
    Arthur Scargill hasn't seen a miner's helmet since 1985.
    4. The town is home to the Church of Saint Mary and All Saints a 14th century parish church known for the Crooked Spire. Over the years many stories have emerged to explain the twisted spire but its commonly accepted that it was caused by the shoddy workmanship of early Polish settler and roofer Jan Sibeloski and his drunken Irish labourer Mick 'tic’ O’Finn.
    5. Along with Ray the whippet and his ropey co-star Jo Quest, Chesterfield is the birthplace of many famous people including award winning actor John Hurt obe. Dame Hurt has made a host of films over his magnificent 40 year career, but remains best known for his 1981 portrayal of Fulham manager Dominic LaTouche.

    Re: Gold Championship 1 News
OK people maybe I have been wrong all along, but just in the interests of fairness lets look at what has happened.
GC 1- Deb Fletcher takes over Torpedo Moscow whilst Tiger Baker is the long-standing manager of Derby. In all reality the Derby team is pretty rubbish, perhaps it is time for an upgrade.
Amazingly three deals in three days are agreed between these two managers who dont know each other at all
Kagawa, Rui Patricio and Yangambiwa Torpedo's three best players all move to Derby for pretty rubbish offers old players, lower rated all destined to fall further.....Strangely enough as Tiger said maybe it is all about ratings??
    Really?
    Kagawa > Kevin Davies(34) 88Rtd + Marco Perez(20) 84Rtd
    Yangambiwa > Julio Cesar (30) 87 Rtd + Gonzales Mariano (30) 87Rtd
    Rui Patricio > Dimitar Ivankov (35) 88Rtd + Voronin (88) Rtd
Strange as other managers have already confirmed that they made bids higher for "her" players such as Ochoa (89) Gk + Saha (88) I know I offered an 89 Bousaffa+Sanchez 86 for Kagawa wouldnt those deals be more tasty looking?? But no Deb didnt Negotiate with anybody else.
I mean if you were being sceptical you might say that in the toughest GC of all you have a pretty rubbish side with old, decreasing players you have no way to get rid of these players and improve yet cynically you somehow manage to get rid of all your old decreasing duffers to the same manager who again you dont know from Adam.
    Lets Look at GC 2.....
Spartak Moscow (tigers) team have a very important SMFA Cup final coming up time to strengthen the side perhaps?? Well strangely Deb against all the odds picks up a team in another GC Tiger is in and proceeds to take over Fulham she then proceeds to sell her two best players high rated to Spartak in very low P/E deals even worse than the last ones. She stays there for two games and then low and behold Giuseppe Rossi is at unmanaged Bolton, so what happens Deb Fletcher resigns from Fulham takes over the Bolton Wanderers job on the 5th July and within a day sells Giuseppe Rossi to Tiger's Spartak Moscow for Pavluchenko+Derdiyok (which is actually pants but the least suspicious of all the deals, thats saying something!)
Now lets look at GC 3....
Tiger Baker was manager of 1 FC Nurnberg for a considerable length of time, but leaves them on the 20th June to take over at Hertha BSC. Takes time to look at the squad needs improving perhaps....then in a miraculous turn of events would you believe it his old mate Deb Fletcher takes over his old team FC Nurnberg, what are the odds
FC Nurnberg then proceed to sell there three best players to Tiger Baker's team again:
    Zabaleta > Iaquinta+Recio (Who?)
Westermann > for a fading ballack
Flamini > Hitzlsberger + Jonjo Shelvey
So there you have it 9 Deals completed in a matter of days over Three GC'S with the same manager it does beg some questions such I mean what are the odds on this lot happening?
    1) Deb Fletcher becomes a Gold Manger 20th June and immediately becomes a manager in 3 of the same GC'S as Tiger Baker despite the over whelming choice of clubs/set-ups on SM
    2) What are the odds that a "new" GC member becomes aware that Tigers old team FC Nurnberg have come free and takes them up, I mean i dont know many people yet alone new members who search for 1 FC Nurnberg
    3) What are the odds that you find a new member who is Australian (same as Tiger) female (same as Tiger) has a nickname Fletch-Deb Fletcher Tigress-Tiger Baker which is fashioned in exactly the same way as Tigers a play on your name
    4) What are the odds that this "new member" agrees to do nine yes nine deals with the same manager over three different set-ups switching clubs in GC 2 and GC 3 to do so that all benefit the one manager enormously
    5) Strange as far as I am aware Deb Fletcher has until this all come out NEVER done a deal with another Human manager in these set-ups NEVER all the people in these choc a block GC'S and she does no deals with them but accepts all these crazy rubbish offers from her neighbour. She has also nevermade a newspaper article or made a counter to anybody but when this whole "furore" happens and is spoke about she suddenly starts doing just that...how weird
    6) What were the odds that this "deb Fletcher" who has never ever posted on the forum suddenly when this all comes to light suddenly "discovers" this whole conversation, shes never posted anywhere and despite obviously "not knowing" Tiger rolls in to his defence, strange thing to do for somebody you dont know.
    7) How strange as well when you look at Tiger and "Deb Fletchers" post that the simillarity in writing style is immense, check it out for yourself look at the use of semi-colons and the use of full stops positioned after quotation marks strangely grammer whilst i dont see used often is EXACTLY the same as the grammer used in Tiger's posts.
A few other things to address:
"What a load of rubbish. I don't need to cheat I'm one of the best managers in the game"
How modest of you, legend in your own mind, I usually find the best managers dont have to blow there own trumpet"
Id love to know how you Deb feel about Tiger's quote??
"If I screwed her over thats nothing to do with you"
Id have thought having read that you'd be disgusted yet defend Tiger ummm
Im glad you are so worried about my spelling as I spelt one word embaressing wrong, id be loathe to take education lessons from you, whatever you want to call yourself be it Tiger,Deb see this below
"Oh what fun, I seem to have caused a controversy. I am the big bad Deborah Fletcher. All I did was except a few bids from another girl and look what happened"
It is ACCEPT I mean what hope is there when you cant even get the first letter of a word right.
Oh and on the issue of your previous banning being an injustice and not against the rules, the rules seem quite clear to me:
"As Radebe 20 pointed out I had my clubs removed for buying an account which wasn't against any rules and still isn't"
    SMs 'Terms of Use'.
You may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift or trade any account, and any such attempt shall be null and void.
SoccerManager does not recognise the transfer of an account except with SoccerManager's prior written permission.
Enough said everybody can draw there own conclusions and put it this way I wouldnt have confidence in saying you are a shining beacon of integrity and fairness. The attempts to cover your tracks just worsen it wheeling "Deb" out on the forum etc
I suppose it is possible.......but i'm not a believer not even close,

A rarity on SM these days - a decent side in a very competitive German division in GC100. Dedicated managers only please.
Raul, Misimovic, Witsel, Benaglio, Schafer, Van Buyton, Grafite, Josue, Reither, Obraniak, Papadopoulos, Boumsong, Donovan, Gentner, Saha, Kakuta.
The real draw is the division and the highly active forum thread that relates.

    Thank you Sir!
Been a bit flaky in this set-up over the years. First time I joined I didn't know 106 was one of the 'special ones'. Second time I did know and had a full season with Hull (got them relegated lol) but gave up all my beloved 50-odd clubs to have a break from the game for 6 months.
Been back for a month checking on 106. Time to get stuck in.

PSG kick off the season with a 1-1 draw against Toulouse. Stats were pretty even, so the draw was a fair result.
Been pretty quiet in the French capital in regard of transfers, Guillermo Ochoa being the only player coming in, a big improvement in our goalkeeping department.
Never really got into Gold Championships in the past, but each time a new one opens, I always look if there's any decent teams to join as, hoping this one would be different. PSG are probably the best (only 2nd) team I've managed in a Gold Championship, so signs are that it should be better than the last time, but I'm starting to remember why. It's just something about logging on to around 10 new messages each time, most being a nice offer of 2mil over CV for your best players, or being inundated with offers of 2 mediocre players for your 1 star, the club captain and the guy constantly linked to top Premier League sides. Thought adding a minimum fee may solve the problem, but then got 2 mediocre players and cash. Ok, he's just unavailable now. That doesn't stop the PMs though. "Your team is poor, so two mediocre centre backs for your star centre back would be a brilliant deal for you." I'm sure Madrid may have a couple of those centre backs going spare, maybe Barcelona. Maybe a top English side is taking an interest in the welfare of a lowly French club (aren't all French clubs, even Lyon & Marseille, lowly to anyone in the other top 4 leagues? ) From the giants of world football, maybe I'd accept taking the hit that I should sell them my star player for 2 of his decent players, but no, the club offering the fantastic deal to my poor team was...Stoke
Maybe I over-value Sakho. Seeing as his name was the defensive base to build my team around and the reasoning why I picked up PSG, I definitely do, and won't try to hide it, but I was compelled to share. It's not because Huth and Shawcross were the players offered, I've had worse offers for him, just because of that "it is (a fantastic offer) considering your team is so poor". I love SM at times

England bow out of World Cup after defeat to Senegal
England's World Cup journey came to an abrupt end after losing 1-0 to little-known African nation Senegal.

Senegal, ranked 67 places below England and the worsed ranked nation in the group, progressed to the knock-out stages of the World Cup alongside the Ukraine, who kick-started England's departure from the tournament with a 4-1 defeat of the Three Lions on the opening day. Blackburn Rovers striker Mamadou Niang scored the decisive goal, as England failed to build on the momentum of the 3-0 win against Egypt.
Wednesday's failure brings to an end coach James Burrow's first full season in international management. After being commended for England's revival from a slump that he created, this latest hit on the young managers reputation has seen him fall back to that of which he started. Here is what he had to say at the team's training ground before setting off to the airport:
"It's hugely disappointing that we didnt make the knock-out stages. The FA's goal was to reach the last eight, and we shall open discussions about the next campaign upon our return to England. Despite the overall disappointment amongst the group, I am very proud of the team's spirit to recover from the Ukraine defeat to beat Egypt so well. Stevie G is an example to all footballers."
Burrow also urged the public to forgive bad-boy Wayne Rooney, who's sending off in the opening group game summed up England's woeful campaign, and accelerated him to public enemy number one:
"Wayne was very upset when he returned to the training ground. He refused to step foot out of his room on Tuesday, only travelling to watch the Egypt game just before kick-off via public transport. He has apologised to his team-mates and to the coaching staff, and I think it's time we all drew the line and forgave him, after all, he is still young and learning to control his temperament."
Finally, Burrow revealed that the search is on to find a new first team coach after E.J Hilton resigned after the final whistle:
"Im sad to say that Elliot tendered his resignation shortly after the defeat to Senegal. He felt that the public had not forgiven him for failing to gain qualification to last year's World Cup while at the reins, and would much rather return to management with a lesser nation. We have yet to open discussions with anyone over the vacant positions."
Burrow is approaching the end of his contract, with his one year deal expiring within the next few days. However, with the news that a new coaching team is set to be named, it is likely that he will sign a new deal within the next few days.

Shaping up as another fight for Div1 survival this season for Wolves. A solid start (including the clubs first win against Liverpool) has been quickly thrown away. W4, D4, L6 record has us sitting 14th and on a downward slide.
We'll now drop 3-5-2 for good and stick to an attacking 4-1-3-2, the same formation that got us promoted to Div1 in the first place. Sick of trying to limp through each game chasing points via high possession only. I'm happier knowing if we eventually go down at least we'll go down in style.

    End Of Season Review
Division 3 Pre Season Prediction And Position At Game 20 and 37 of the Season

Crewe manager Sean Fitzpatrick has delusions of being a messiah surely if he was one he would have got them promoted last season however Crewe this season have looked unstoppable and have already sealed the divison 3 title and hold an 8pt lead going into the last game several very good signings recently have made Crewe into a formidable team who will have many in division 2 worried
Tranmere went so close last season reaching the playoff final but for disaster to strike currently on the verge of sealing an automatic promotion place however they have been very inconsistent in recent weeks and have a tough game against Brighton while Qpr have the much easier game against Carlisle i fear it could be another year of disappointment for Tranmere fans
QPR look to be getting back to there best after being relegated from the second division at the end of season 7 however it was nearly division 3 football this season after surviving by just 2pts last season as a result they were written off this season with a mid table finish there best hope however they have proved everyone wrong and have a good chance to make it into second place with a win against Carlisle
Reading looked to be onto a good thing when appointing Robert Jarni as manager with things looking good and promotion looked likely manager Jarni launched a sickening tirade against Millwall boss Dave Izod clearly to cover up his war crimes past which eventually caught up with him and he was removed by the SMFA new manager Mat Humphries had a tough task to stabalize the club which has taken time and seen them drop to 4th recently picked there form up with two wins including a win against Tranmere and could sneak an automatic promotion place if they beat Barnsley and Tranmere and QPR both fail to win on Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have never been impressive despite possessing a strong team of players with the likes of Hitzlsperger,Sissoko,Pique,Skrtel and Dzeko shame it took a relegation for the management and players to wake up they would likely be still in with a chance of automatic promotion but for a rare dip in form this season back at the end of march when losing to Tranmere,Brighton and Rochdale they do however look to have strong claims to get promoted through the playoffs
Shorpe last seasons division 4 champions have been impressive this season in division 3 and have even performed better than Crewe did last season with a playoff place already achived they do look the outsiders of which ever 4 teams are in the playoffs however have only had 1 defeat in there last 12 games and beat Reading 7-2 could have been underestimated by many
Derby pre season favorites after there shock relegation last season after reaching the playoffs during season 8 however have never looked like fulfilling that since a run of 4 defeats in 6 games during march including defeats to Tranmere and Gillingham and have continued to hemorrhage vital points resulting in the horrible position of 7th just outside the playoffs
Port Vale have been a consistent mid table team for the previous three seasons and look like heading for another mid table finish especally if they lose to Shorpe and team around them pick up points only 3pts off 11th only 2 wins in 9 games in march has cost them dearly
Brighton are not quite the South American heavy side any more but still have plenty in the squad which seems to have leant towards Portuguese tallent which has sadly not had much of an effect with a mid table finish on the cards here a disappointment after reaching the playoffs last season.
Ipswich have never looked the same since somehow losing in the playoff final against Millwall at the end of season 7 with a lack of squad depth the likely cause with only 17 first team players they dont have the ability to keep up with the larger squads they have done well be be where they are with so few players though
Barnsley will want to forget this season after two solid seasons of finishing 7th and 6th they have found themselves well adrift from the playoff race and find themselves 16pts behind 6th placed Shorpe after a run of 11 games with just 1 win
Rochdale this seasons performance has been overshadowed by off the pitch problems with manager Elliot Sutcliffe they have performed well with a squad that lacks the overall quality of many teams in the division and have held there own picking wins up against Tranmere,Reading,Sheffield Wednesday and QPR which have been key to there survival
Swansea have failed to really progress since being promoted from the 4th division at the end of season 7 with a 3rd successive mid table finish currently in 13th could sneak to 10th if results go there way but that will take a huge amount of luck and a win over relegation threatend Colchester
Carlisle Was a real suprise they got promoted back in season 8 since then they have dropped back into the 3rd division after a poor season last season in division 2 and never looked like bouncing back this season after a inconsistent performance and are somewhat lucky not to be threatend with relegation
Leyton Orient poor is the best way to describe there season so far and are only safe after a good spell of form in April which saw them unbeaten in 7 of there 8 games since then they have lost all 3 games and a possibility of a 16th place finish a possibility for a team that was in the playoffs two seasons ago and narrowly missed out last season
Bradford are another team that have been abysmal this season missed out on the playoffs last season by 3pts and were exspected to near to them again however a poor start to the season saw them firmly involved in the relegation battle only a pick up in form in March and into early April has saved them
Gillingham could well be on the verge of pulling off one of the greatest football fight backs in history after picking up just 8pts in there first 20 games they were written off and were 1/100 to get relegated however manager Sir Jake has somehow managed to pull the team out of the relegation zone for the first time this season in an amazing turnaround in for which has seen them win 9 games in the second half of the season including there last 4 could well pull of the miracle
Hull is has been on the cards for Hull to get relegated for a while now especially after last seasons narrow escape by just 4pts and looked certain to drop this season along with Gillingham after picking up just 5 wins in there first 30 games and are really only in contention thanks to drawing more games need to beat Rochdale to stay up however if Gillingham win Hull will be playing division 4 football next season
Oxford try there hardest with very limited resources and a weak squad compered to most in the division pulled off a minor miracle to survive last season however this season they have been far too inconsistent looked to have just edged clear of the drop zone in the middle of April however a recent run of 5 games without a win has seen them look likely to be relegated a point would save them but they need both Gillingham and Hull to fail with both sides in much better form than Oxford
Colchester manager Daniel Dragovic has recently reappeared after developiing a serious case of hermit syndrome which saw the Colchester manager disappear of the face of the planet which has spread rumours that he may well be an advanced scout for the impending alien invasion of Earth by Rargons led by Simon Pluto if you would belive the Southwark News back to Colchester they have been very poor this season with 2 wins in there last 12 games and fully deserve to get relegated.

Just noticed that there are two slots available in the Scottish challenge in GC109. If you want to prove that you're a managerial genius, then this is the place to be, as there are loads of fantastic forumers here, mainly in Division Two:
    Division One:
    Aberdeen - me
    Hibernian - gadga
    Kilmarnock - Colonel Light
(There might be a couple of others in Division One, but I don't recognise their SM names to their forum names)
    Division Two:
    Dundee - AsianInvasion
    Dunfermline Athletic - Insider
    Falkirk - Dai
    Greenock Morton - sonofpluto
    Hamilton Academical - Sparky
    Inverness Caledonian Thistle - Radebe20
    Partick Thistle - fraser mcinnes
Queen of the South - Phil(GT)
    Raith Rovers - GeorgeECFC
    Ross County - Kensational
The clubs that are available are St. Mirren and St. Johnstone, both of whom are in Division One. Would prefer good managers who are going to stick it out for the long haul as this league has the potential to be the best for a long, long time.

HULL CITY LOOKS TO THE FUTURE.
The faint hope of Hull City avoiding relegation this season received a boost in bizarre scenes this morning outside KC Stadium. After a marathon all-night board meeting the Chairman emerged at the doors around 5.20AM and announced to the waiting media scrum that the club had released the previous manager from his contract and employed the services of Potter effective immediately. Potter was not present and is believed to be holidaying in Australia.

Hull's Chairman fronts the press in the early hours
First radio reports received a positive response and as the sun rose on KC Stadium a steady stream of loyal fans began to arrive to celebrate. By lunch the stream had become a tidal wave throughout Hull requiring Police to close the entire city due to the massive numbers.

    Sunrise support...

    ...turns to mass celebration.
Currently nine points from Div3 safety with nine games remaining, limited resources and a jaded squad, the board understands the job ahead for Potter is not easy. The fans however will be looking for immediate results. It's believed that Potter thinks he can get them to safety but only if the team responds to his complete overhaul of formation and tactics without delay. Anything less will see the job begin in earnest from Division 4.

When asked about the new manager, this thrifty local aluminium collector replied "...couldn't give a toss! I'm Manchester United!"
