  1. with the yet further deletion of concerns regarding paying clients being subject to advertising, i end my account with soccer manager forever. i am disgusted with their lack of response, respect and judgement. such a 'company' is unworthy and undeserving of time nor money. i bid all others farewell and to have fun, always.. dai smout
  2. Re: the deletion of the 'match advertising' thread.. as a gold member, when i sign in there is a counter displayed showing the amount of days left on my account until i have to pay again. i always felt this 'feature' rather threatening and served as a warning to myself. when, actually, it is now the other way around..
  3. Re: the deletion of the 'match advertising' thread.. i request yourself, and all readers, remember this thread because if (perhaps when may be more apparent) it gets deleted for no reason then i will have no other option to quit this game and never (ever) return. the treatment of paying customers, us, is just beyond belief..
  4. the deletion of the 'match advertising' thread.. it has come to my attention that the thread(s) discussing the recent addition of advertising prior to viewing a match have been removed/deleted. one would have imagined that customers, especially paying clients, would be respected and entitled to a response from the company (as opposed to not only being ignored but actually having their valid complaints and concerns deleted.) this post is written politely, does not infringe upon the terms and conditions of the forum or game, and is respectful. dai smout
  5. Re: FOTY13 Play-Off Play-Off even though he does his best to derail this thing every year, losing against such a poor poster will be a bloody disaster. whilst others aren't capable and lack variation, his posts are so full of insight. he may be whiny but he's right, and still the best poster on here. and that's the basic truth..
  6. Re: Southern European ICON (The ICON Games) at this rate, even sean has an opportunity of qualifying..
  7. Re: The ICON Games - World News iconeurope|south beatthebest entering our third season, just two qualifying places remain in the Southern Europe sector. will you be one to achieve a space and book your place in the ICON World Cup? our sector has several positions available - due to one being unable to grasp the concept of kicking a ball in the right direction, another simply not strong enough to handle the pace, someone else actually being called up for national service (?!) and the last bloke suffering death by unbongo.. anyway, for worthy managers only, we seek those looking to prove their skill and succeed in this massive tournament. if not already a part of this game world, or if you know of someone whom would be interested in joining, then please contact me in the first instance. the new season starts soon and we'll be looking forward to your efforts. hope to see you there and have fun dai smout hereandnow
  8. dais genesis | awards | season six dais genesis awards | season six well pick my nose and scratch my bum.. dais genesis has celebrated its first anniversary - of course, being blokes, we all forgot about it. still, it's such a remarkable achievement one thinks, especially as it is now more feature packed, immersive and stronger than ever. yet, not that adding stuff, inventing new angles, or giving it a polish has meant its 'value' has become greater than it originally was. simply, dais genesis was created with communication as its sole basis. provide the means and the game world becomes a life of its own, once filled with great people (and they are great..) it lives, breathes, laughs, loves, spits and vents. i could walk away and it still would have a soul. not that i would want to turn my back upon this lot.. gits, the lot of them.. yeeah.. anyway, below is a graph to show the top performing managers in season six. to be considered among the best, one must be in division four, or three at a push. no, w.wait.. winning consistently and comprehensively will suffice.. whilst this table and the awards below show and reward excellence, special mention is due to yuri laszlo for his contribution(s) in designing the manager of the season banner. many thanks yuri, an excellent job and most kind of you. of course, another reason for highlighting him especially is due to the unlikelihood of him appearing in the table and awards below showing and rewarding excellence.. i shouldn't fail to mention david garvock of course, whom works tirelessly (and has to put up with my constant demands, those of which yuri has recently discovered) to provide an excellent service for us all. |manager of the season david garvock | birminghamhanging on to his bum all season, stewart lauder can chase a man like no other (he's always eager for a good craic..) yet it was dave (flash - he's a miracle) garvock whom preserved his dignity by winning not only the manager's manager title but also the dais genesis official award for greatest performance. that said, one's performance is calculated via a system called miracle man of the season (mm), a system of which flash designed and administrates himself. which is somewhat as fishy as my wife's apple crumble.. yet, following brilliant results this season, david (just a man with a mans courage) garvock it is. although (and as a new feature of dais genesis), the winner not only holds such an honourable title but also receives the following prize.. the above banner, very kindly designed and created by yuri laszlo, is the first of each season's official winner of the dais genesis manager of the season award. many, many thanks to yuri. |manager of division one scott samuels | hanover (managers manager)in a noticeable u-turn to recent seasons, scott samuels ran away with the premier trophy this season. although not very fast, as he's rather fat.. teams in division one have, for some time, remained tightly packed and difficult to separate. a bit like getting sean fitzpatrick to smile, very hard to achieve but probably a lot of fun attempting such with a gardening tool.. ben magee | trabzonspor (miracle man) throughout the history of dais genesis, the rise of ben magee has been remarkable. consistently improving his team and progressing from his original starting place in division.. yeeah, probably a long way back.. following his reign as champions in season five, enabling his players to punch above their weight ensures ben receives the division one miracle man award. |manager of division two ashley kirk | southampton (miracle man)although losing during the play offs, kirky stuffed everyone in the division with regards to the mm tables. and, whilst missing out on a successive promotion, with a bit of luck he may be run over by a car (or bigger) soon.. niall taylor | blackburn (managers manager) the voting was never more contested than in division two this season. firstly there was ashley kirk (southampton) whom, despite his sparkling personality, received few votes - yet his season was a great success and his performance in the mm tables were completely uncontested. then there was lee bradbury (atalanta). whilst starting off as soft as a pudenda, he finished as hard as a.. yeeah.. and gained promotion via the play offs. yet the winner was niall taylor (blackburn), a newcomer to our game world and someone whom admittedly likes to spend his life inshore with sheep and, offshore, with a bunch of men.. whilst not playing the full season, in fact only 57.14285% of it, the hindlegger ('there can be only ewe') achieved such an immediate and sustained turnaround of results that voters flocked to his side to be embraced by his succulent minty-saucyness.. |manager of division three stewart lauder | forest green rovers (miracle man and managers manager)oh for ..ests sake, not him again. starting as one of the very weakest teams in the whole game world, stewart has worked his tiara off to build a great side. thus, being promoted from division three as champions has added another sequin to his frock. very deserving of both the managers manager and official mm titles in his division this season. |manager of division four david garvock | birmingham (miracle man and managers manager)git. no one has a look-in (hey! remember that magazine?!) when one wins as consistently and comprehensively as birmingham this season. as champions of division four, dave joins an exclusive list with such names as garry crawford and christian bishop - whom are currently reaching the giddy heights of 31st and 32nd in the league.. along with being crowned champion of division four, dave also was awarded the miracle man award, the manager's manager award and the title of dais genesis manager of the season. git.
  9. Re: Southern European ICON (The ICON Games) iconeurope|south seasontwoend with season two complete, a second manager has now qualified for the ICON World Cup. as you will be aware, the table does not show the true final standings of the teams. there were many instances of naughty players being fielded this season and, thus, adjustments are made to reflect such. this resulted in some managers/teams being deducted ten points, whilst others being awarded three (one team got +4, me!) yet, not that this altered the final outcome and, following an excellent season, les parry of olympiacos easily qualified for the finals. well done mr parry, top job! there are several spaces available within the sector, thus, if you have friends or know of a manager whom is interested in joining then please contact me in the first instance (although it's easier for us all if they don't! ) best of luck for the new season and have fun dai smout hereandnow
  10. Re: Can we bring newspaper back? i am of the opinion that SM has always been lacking, seriously, in newspaper and media features. whilst i appreciate i do perhaps find such of greater enjoyment than others might, i completely believe it makes sound financial sense too as members become far more interactive and attached to their teams, worlds and (thus) the game as a whole. one suggestion may be to do what i did in this situation, create a custom world specifically for those whom enjoy the media aspects, are interactive and believe in a high level of communication. this is achieved via media articles and reports etc in a chosen forum thread (and via a private facebook group for the naughty bits..) i think this may be the best we can hope for..
  11. Re: Southern European ICON (The ICON Games) iconeurope|south seasontwoupdate howdies. firstly, my apologies for the lack of recent contact. during the previous three weeks i had (not one but five..) RL issues to contend with. bonkers family.. anyway, with season two nearing its end, the second qualifying team of our sector will soon be announced. although, unfortunately, the current table may not be all that it seems as there were several instances of managed teams using illegible players this season. thus, due to this, the penalty adjustments need to be calculated before the current leading team is officially announced as the rightful qualifiers. also, as you may know, the previous manager whom qualified has unfortunately had to leave the game. thus, in his position, the next qualifying team from season one will be taking his place. although (and i am still cringing about this..) this happens to be me.. (my team came second - losing on GD) and i've been dreading mentioning this!.. it's a shame that a number of managers, due to various reasons, have had to leave the sector/game this season. therefore, if you have friends or know of a manager whom is interested in joining then please contact me in the first instance. anyway, as always, i wish you all the best of luck and have fun. hereandnow

  15. Re: DAiS Genesis | Interview DAiS Genesis i n t e r v i e w Ben Magee | Trabzonspor the latest interviewee also happens to be the defending champion of division one. starting out, back when dais genesis first began, in division three (a division that i, myself, passed though recently. although, admittedly, via the wrong doors..) this member has progressively achieved promotions to the top flight and, with an outstanding performance last season, became the ultimate champion. ladyboys and gentlemen of dais genesis, i bring you Ben 'who the.. who.. (actually i'm unable to publish his given nickname in case it offends absolutely.. no one..)' Magee. Ben, who the.. who.. i'm a 25 year old marketer [really? yet one whom has obviously yet to embrace social media marketing then?] and have recently abandoned ashley holtom in worcester for a welsh girl in cardiff [wow. that must have been crushing for him as, not only did you happen to be bi but also left for some welsh bint..] and your computing history? i've been breaking desktops since Windows 95 [Apple OS 89..], still a proud owner of my Mega Drive, N64 and currently sporting an Xbox360. and your footie sim history? since Championship Manager 2 i've been hooked on footy manager games and haven't missed a year (even when Eidos insisted on releasing two games a year with 02/03 and CM5 i still threw my money their way.) so, Soccer Manager? Ash got me into it about two years ago and i've been well and truly hooked ever since. and why DAiS Genesis? i loved the concept and love pitting my wits against some great managers. i confess i could've been more active, but with the big move and new job it's sort of fallen by the wayside [are you suggesting there was another time here other than the wayside?..] food? bbq ribs, chicken wings and chocolate gateaux are the ways to my heart [which is fortunate, in Wales they probably all can be purchased for £1 in Iceland..] animals? yes please. movies?American History X, Dark Knight Rises, Snatch. comedian? Rhod Gilbert music? Machine Head are my favourite band (stuck with me from my high school metal days). pretty open to anything though nowadays. book? The hobbit. The Jack Reacher books are awesome as well. joke? what's the opposite of Christopher Reeves? Christopher Walken. superhero power? the power to figure out any girl's nipple type on introduction. [what, all six?..] manager derby? it would be with Ash if the [momentary interlude] would stop getting relegated... ..and at this point everything starts to get a little weird. with Ben deciding upon to interview himself with regards to several questions and none of which made any sense.. in a note accompanying the interview he did state that i could leave out this section, if deemed too odd, if i wished. which is kind, as it was, and i did.. DAiS Invitationals thanks Ben Magee for this interview and then slowly backs out of the room..
  16. Re: DAiS Genesis | Media probably because there was only just one seat' date=' you wanted other men to sit on your lap..[/color']
  17. dais genesis | awards | season five dais genesis awards | season five for the game world built upon communication, it has never been so immersive. with season five complete, dais genesis not only remains strong and healthy, but still continues to experience incredible growth. the contributions of media articles by its managers rise in both quantity and quality with each passing season, and the private game world forum has never enjoyed such levels of communication. to its members great credit, dais genesis is total immersion. together with the Manager's Manager (peer) voting, dais genesis also incorporates the Miracle Man system (by David Garvock) which awards managers for exceptional performance. although, along with the winners of the various categories, recognition is also due to the top managers whom have achieved excellence this season. |manager of the season christian bishop | lorientthe success of christian last season doesn't require separate awards, such as official, miracle man, or manager's manager etc. he achieved them all. easily. and by far. whilst lorient have one of the poorest teams (and managers..) and were seemingly stuck in division four, christian defied the odds. not only dominating his league, and gaining promotion, he also topped the miracle man table and every applicable vote. he obviously enjoys sitting astride large polls.. |manager of division one si nicholls | wigansi nicholl's wigan performed better than any other team in the first division this season and, thus, is the proud winner of the mm award for the premiership. again, this member won both awards (miracle man and manager's manager) yet it was closer than a very close thing with an extra special reason to be close. his opponent, ben magee, was pipped at the post by just one vote in the poll by their peers. on one side was the 'si performed relatively better', against the other 'ben finished higher in the division' - that one has constructed a great team since over many months vs a poorer team that achieved much from less was the order of the day from the two opposing camps of voters. in the end, si nicholls reigns as the division one manager's manager, whilst ben magee begins his well deserved reign as champion of division one. |manager of division two maarten pouw | real betisalthough new members traditionally perform poorly to begin with, the man with the unfeasible amount of vowels in his name gained promotion in his first season and is, as above, rewarded with both the miracle man and manager's manager titles. |manager of division three ashley kirk | southamptonfollowing a terrible season in which he played like a total booby, ashley returned this season to punish almost everyone whom faced his side. kirky, like the others, is awarded both titles this season (one senses a trend..) and i look forward to the day that someone punches him in the chops. |manager of division four christian bishop | lorientwhat a guy. the type of bloke whom makes one drop to their knee's and thank god they're a man. that said, i imagine any normal folk with such a beard would put it to better use (note to self| research 'better use' for beards..) true story| whilst researching applicants for dais genesis, the first post i read of christian's (elohim) was a discussion between two managers. christian had replied [something along the lines of] that 'who would mindfully select leyton orient?' i, at that very moment, received a personal message from him choosing 'Lorient' and i, erm, in a confused state, um, well, guess the rest.. along with being crowned champion of division four, christian also was awarded the miracle man award, the manager's manager award and the title of dais genesis manager of the season.
  18. Re: Southern European ICON (The ICON Games) a little premature to consider it a flop (holy.. 'little', 'premature' and 'flop' all in just one sentence - not phrases any man likes to hear.. ) i have spoken with said manager previously, following his concern with regards to retaining interest, in which he responded well and certainly did try to continue (of such i am grateful. he, like every person here, has been both a credit and a pleasure.) yet, i'm unable to disagree that such a game world lacks immediacy. i, of course, stepped in at the last moment to assist with ICON and had no input with regards to its structure. that said, i should also add that the game world details were available from the very start and it has always been clear that (to ensure the ICON WC is highly competitive) the qualification stages would entail extended length (a phrase every man likes to hear.. ) additionally, a game world is only as good as its members. the more we put in, the more we get out. i appreciate it can be a bit tough going yet, and i ask every member here, with a little effort regarding additional posts (match reports, banter and general communication etc) we can ensure greater competition and enjoyment. additional| if you know someone whom may be interested then recommendations for membership here are most welcome.
  19. Re: Southern European ICON (The ICON Games) hello man' date=' whilst i manage the sector, it is hosted by the doc. i'll pass the details to himself. note| don't field a player above an 80 rating, or i'll bone your cat..[/color']
  20. ICONeurope|south > season two iconeurope|south totalandutter.. i've just about come to terms with managing to lose the title in season one and, therefore, been able to face writing another post. whilst residing at the top of the table for a substantial period of time, not only did i face defeat in both remaining matches but also failed simply due to a goal difference of one. hmm, bummer.. painful as it was, all credit to Gaspar Senka whom, due to his excellent performance, now see Sporting CP qualify for the ICON World Cup. i remind members that the use of an ineligible player will result in a 3-0 win for their opponent (this will only apply to games involving two human managers.) although, as the criteria for qualification only involves league games, there is no penalty for using a player rated over 80 in any cup/competition fixture. therefore, a manager may decide to use such players (and 'rest' their league players) freely as desired. obviously it's in their best interests to remember to swap them back though (i just sell such players asap, i don't trust my memory..) season one had been most enjoyable and i thank all for their contributions here. i certainly hope this season, the matches, and your voices here on our forum continues in the same manner. good luck to all in season two and have fun dai smout bet i do rubbish now.. hereandnow
