  1. Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season Another great performance from Apodi capped off by a goal. Vitoria are doing well this season too so he might be in for a decent rise.
  2. Re: Laio - Botafogo gem That Flu goal was SICK! Chip over and a great finish by Fred. Joao Paulo was probably one of Flu's best defenders in that match he started the goal all the way at the back by winning it off none other then Laio:D Joao Paulo is a serious talent reminds me of Rafael from United.
  3. Re: Laio - Botafogo gem Laio just got subbed in. 7 minutes left hopefully he can grab the winner in a horrible match so far. Wow, as soon as Laio was subbed in the match got heaps intense. He showed some good touches and got in good positions but in the Fred got the winner for Flu.
  4. Laio Azeredo Dos Santos Laio Azeredo Dos Santos better known as "Laio" is a 20 year old striker currently playing for Brazilian giants Botafogo. Laio is known as an ambitious flamboyant striker that is highly regarded amongst the Botafogo youth and senior football structures. Laio started his youth career off at Rio club Rio Grande. A clube known for the bringing up of great youth players. Laio was hoping to be one of those starlets. He knew it was time to move on and so he moved to American. Unfortunately things didn't quite work out for him their and so his contract was terminated. The next stage of his career is truly inspiring. He started off working on all aspects of his game headers passing etc. This caught the eye of Botafogo scouts in January 2008 and led to him being signed on a 2 year loan deal. The person who was able to secure a deal for the youngster was none other then former Real Madrid player Didi. He kept working and he soon got his chance to play for the Botafogo youth team in the OPG cup an extremely important cup for youngsters in the Rio region to play against other big teams. During the group stages he wasn't reallt showing his true potential and scoring goals but as soon as the Quarter finals came up he showed what he was really made of. He scored 2 goals against Bonsucesso. Botafogo won 4-2 and this guaranteed them into the semi finals. The next match in the Semis was against Vasco de Gama. A truly important match as first team coach Ney Franco. Ney personally praised the youngster after the match saying his technique and ability to shoot with both legs is amazing. At the end of the competition Laio got 14 goals in 18 games.During the Rio state competition he played 3 games for Botafogo. One thing Laio really wants to achieve is to play for the Brazil youth and Senior team which is a testament to his ambitious personality. Laio recently got his first game for the Botafogo senior team by starting the match last week against Sport Recife. He played the full 90 minutes in the match. The result was 2-2. This week they face Fluminenese. I doubt Laio will start but hopefull Ney Franco will give him some time off the bench. He has been included for today's squad. Keep an eye out for him when he gets added. Name: Laio Azeredo Dos Santos "Laio" Club: Botafogo Age: 20 DB: Not on Nation: Brazil Games played 1/4 = 90 minutes. Currently not on DB.
  5. Re: Rafael ROMO - Not yet on the database; but a keeper for the future. Romo played against Bolivia today and was easily man of the match. Had to pull off some tremendous saves and also kept a clean sheet.
  6. Re: BAMBAM and BISMARCK - Fortaleza's attacking punch Haven't really heard much of BamBam but from what i've heard of Bismarck he is a massive talent! Was going to do a thread on him until i saw this. Great spot!
  7. Re: Columbian starlet - James Rodriguez Quick update on Rodriguez. He has played in 3 more matches since i last posted on him. Again all off the bench. Could probably be in for a small rise from 76.

  10. Re: Offical Aston Villa Thread ! * no spoilers * In this case it is difficult for Villa. But in my opinion why would you pay 7 million pounds for an untried teenager when you can buy an established international and consistent starter for a top club (Miguel Veloso) for about 9 - 12 Million. If Bolton can attract him i'm 128.6% sure Villa can too. Perfect replacement pretty much young, athletic, wealth of experience and a great player with Cesc like distribution and a Gerrard esque shot.
  11. Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season Vitora destroyed gremio 1-0 today. Gremio were hopeless and are nothing compared to the team they were last season. Leandro Domingues scored a screamer and was man of the match along with Apodi. Apodi was immense down the right flank he absolutely romped the Gremio left side and in one run he deadset beat about 5 Gremio players and nearly scored. Back four for Vitoria were also solid including this youngster called victor ramos (Not on DB should get added though) He was heaps solid and also Viafara with a near man of the match performance. Great result! But really a must buy is Apodi who is 76 and 22. Massive riser if he continues to play well.
  12. Re: Francis Coquelin This kid is an absolute freak! He is brilliant the best Arsenal youth barring Wilshere. Snap him up now because he will be big mark my words. Easily i would compare him to Fabregas in his style of play same style and everything its scary almost!
  13. Re: Tiago Dutra **NEXT BIG THING** I know! Honestly don't know whats happened couple years back he was "IT" now i haven't heard of him in ages. Still, i would like to think he is still a decent prospect.
  14. Re: Young Argentine Talent Is it true that Viatri has moved to Siena?
  15. Re: Rhys Williams Squad for Australia's qualifiers guess who's included Goalkeepers: Michael Petkovic (Sivasspor, Turkey), Mark Scwharzer (Fulham, England), Brad Jones (Middlesbrough, England) Defenders: Scott Chipperfield (FC Basel, Switzerland), Chris Coyne (Colchester United, England), Adrian Madaschi (Portogruaro-Summaga, Italy), Mark Milligan (Shanghai Shenhua, China) Lucas Neill (West Ham United, England), Jade North (Incheon United, Korea Republic), Matthew Spiranovic (FC Nurnberg, Germany), Shane Stefanutto (Lyn Oslo, Norway), Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough, England), Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow) Midfielders: Marco Bresciano (Palermo, Italy), Jacob Burns (FC Unirea Valahorum, Romania), Tim Cahill (Everton, England), Nick Carle (Crystal Palace, England), David Carney (Sheffield United, England), Jason Culina (Gold Coast United, Australia), Richard Garcia (Hull City, England), Vince Grella (Blackburn Rovers, England), Mile Jedinak (Genclerbirligi, Turkey), Harry Kewell (Galatasaray, Turkey), Mile Sterjovski (Derby County, England), Carl Valeri (U.S. Grossetto, Italy) Strikers: Bruce Djite (Genclerbirligi, Turkey), Brett Holman (AZ Alkmaar, Netherlands), Josh Kennedy (Karlsruher, Germany), Scott McDonald (Celtic, Scotland), Dario Vidosic (FC Nurnberg, Germany)
  16. Re: Poll - would you like to see the Old Firm in the prem Difference is that Cardiff and Swansea deserve to be where they are ATM because they have earned their place in the CCC by starting in League 2. Why should Celtic have the luxury of waltzing into the PL whilst everyone ENGLISH team has to battle it out.
  17. Re: Official Newcastle Utd thread Good thing going for Newcastle is their reputation. People from any Championship team will want to join Newcastle knowing that they will most likely go straight up to the Premiership again (knocks on wood:D) This would be my Newcastle team for next season. Harper Eardley/Edgar--Taylor--R Johnson/St Ledger (Cardiff) Duff Barnes (Got my doubts though)--Boyd/Delph--McCarthy--Chris Taylor Beckford--Cox (Mackail-Smith) Ideal team for the championship. Saves you money on transfers/wages + should be enough to get you out of the CCC. Take some of these players to the Premier League and then make some decent buys in the Premier League. Then build on.
  18. Re: Official Newcastle Utd thread Yep, i think he would be a great but with Owen leaving and Viduka heading back to Aus and Martins most likely to leave and Xisco is certain to leave. Will only leave Carrol and youngsters. I would buy Jermaine Beckford to fill that void. Sell Jonas get a good 5 million for him buy someone like Chris Taylor from Oldham. Get rid of Barton etc buy George Boyd. A lot of great players available like James McCarthy. Shearer needs to re-build the structure at the Football Club but its going to be difficult with a horrible owner like Mike Ashley.
  19. Re: Official Newcastle Utd thread Start of July so in a month or so.
  20. Re: Manchester United's Future Talents Seeing as all you Manchester fans know a lot more then i regarding Man U talent i was wondering if someone could inform me on the following players: Sam Hewson Matthew James and Nicky Ajose Cheers.
  21. Re: Pick A 'Pear' Wth? Dani never played with Bellamy at West Ham.
  22. Re: Pick A 'Pear' Dani (West Ham)
  23. Re: Rabiola & Gokhan Rabiola just came back from a massive injury lay off and has been playing some games recently. Against Setubal and Maritimo. Came off th bench on both games.
  24. Re: NOTW Scoops The Sun On Ronaldo Does it really matter whether you play for a team with Adidas and your personal sponsor is Nike. Lucas Neill is has a sponsor ship deal with Nike yet he dons a West Ham shirt with Umbro on it. But then again were talking about Ronaldo here not Lucas Neill
