  2. Re: Brazilian NT So your saying that if you don't have a big sponsorship deal you can't play for Brazil. IMO that is a disgrace and no wonder why Deco and Pepe joined our selacao. Anyways enough of that. Do you think Liedson deserves a spot in the Brazilian national team? After years of constant scoring and playing top football in Portugal he hasn't been called up to the NT. IMO i would rather see Liedson in the Brazil squad rather then Nilmar. Again it shows Dunga's ignorance by not looking outside of the top 3 leagues.
  3. Re: Brazilian NT Why is Victor and Gomes called ahead of Helton? Helton has been outstanding for Porto this season and Gomes a person who has had a disastrous season gets called ahead (I know hes improved but Helton has been constantly outstanding.) For me Helton is the best Brazilian goalkeeper their is ATM. + Dunga is an absolute idiot why does he only call up "Superstar players" when theres players such as Hulk who have been performing week in week out but don't get called up. Seriously Dunga is a tool and doesn't deserve to be coach of the best NT in the world!
  4. Re: Wilson Eduardo - Sporting´s finest Wilson Eduardo is pretty much the best player in the Sporting youth team along with Diogo Rosado and Pedro Mendes. Shame hes at the U-19 tournament as i felt he would make his debut tomorrow. Oh well.
  5. Re: Benfica signs Ramires Yep, 7.5 Million Euros, 5 year deal and 30 Million Euro release clause.

    Who Am I?

Re: Who Am I? Stab in the dark here. Is it Julio Baptista? EDIT: "Beauty in my clubs defence" Looks like its not Julio
  7. Re: Italian Starlet - Gianmarco Zigoni Looks like i mucked up by saying he is already signed with Palermo. Apparently Zigoni and his family didn't agree to the terms so he is still able to get grabbed by a top Italian team. This article was on goal... Treviso Starlet Zigoni Wants Juventus Or Milan Move – Agent The promising 18-year-old wants to play alongside the very best next season. 22 May 2009 01:11:13 Treviso-Vicenza Serie B (Grazia Neri) Photo Gallery Zoom Treviso-Vicenza Serie B (Grazia Neri) Related Links Teams * Juventus * Milan * Treviso Players * Gianmarco Zigoni Treviso have had a dreadful season in the Italian Serie B, as they have managed to record just 34 points from the 40 matches played to date, and sit rock bottom of the standings. As a result, they will be playing in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione next term, which was formerly known as Serie C1. One of the shining lights to come from their season thus far has been the emergence of some young talent, including an 18-year-old by the name of Gianmarco Zigoni, who looked set to join Palermo in January this year. “In January, the player and his family decided not to choose Palermo for their own personal reasons,” the agent of Zigoni, Gabriele Savino, affirmed in an interview with Mediagol.it. “With the transfer window set to reopen again shortly though, we will work out what is best for the future of Gianmarco. “There are many teams looking at him, but firstly we will have to wait and see what Treviso have in mind for the future of this child. “What teams are interested in him? There are many including Palermo, Sampdoria, Atalanta, Genoa, Juventus, Milan and even Manchester United. “Understandably, Juventus and Milan are the clubs that attract him the most for now.”
  8. Re: Benfica signs Ramires (CNN) -- Manchester City duo Elano and Robinho are among five British-based players named in the Brazil squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup. Robinho is among five British-based players in Brazil's 23-man squad for their June matches. Robinho is among five British-based players in Brazil's 23-man squad for their June matches. Dunga's side are playing Uruguay and Paraguay, on June 6 and 10, in the South American World Cup Qualifying Zone before flying to South Africa to compete in the Confederations Cup from June 14 to 28. Elano and Robinho are joined in the 23-strong party by Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, Chelsea defender Alex and Manchester United midfielder Anderson. The most high-profile absentees are AC Milan midfielder Ronaldinho and Corinthians striker Ronaldo, who have both been overlooked. Dunga told Press Association Sport: "The national team always have high-quality players and it is all up to the coach. We look at a number of factors to make a decision." Brazil squad: Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Gomes (Tottenham), Victor (Gremio); Defenders: Maicon (Inter Milan), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Kleber (Internacional), Andre Santos (Corinthians), Alex (Chelsea), Juan (Roma), Lucio (Bayern Munich), Luisao (Benfica); Midfielders: Anderson (Manchester United), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (Wolfsburg), Ramires (Cruzeiro), Elano (Manchester City), Felipe Melo (Fiorentina), Julio Baptista (Roma), Kaka (Milan); Forwards: Alexandre Pato (Milan), Luis Fabiano (Sevilla), Nilmar (Internacional), Robinho (Manchester Ramieres called up to the latest squad.
  9. Re: Benfica signs Ramires I guess the deal with Ramires is pretty much done. Luiz Felipe Scolari commented on Ramires saying that he reminds him of Liedson despite them playing in different positions, his touch, Combination play and statiure reminds him of Liedson. I guess this means that he has 100% signed with Cruzeiro. Former Cruzeiro coach Dorival Junior has stated that Benfica have signed a great player. Dorival Junior was the one who handed his debut to Ramires.
  10. Re: Benfica signs Ramires "It will be better for him to go to CSKA because of the Brazilians Carvalho, Jesus etc. Um in case none of you have noticed the benfica team is pretty much all Portuguese and Brazilian. Perfect place to fit in. Also to the person who said "higher level of football" thats clearly not case i watch Russian league games on Setanta and there hardly a higher standard then that of the Portuguese league. The press reckon a deal will be concluded within the week.
  11. Re: Portuguese Ratings Just got off Portuguese TV and these are the following rumours: Nene to Benfica for 2 Million. Ramires to Benfica for 2-3 Million. Maicon to Porto for 1 Million. Ruben Micael to Benfica with Nene. Lisandro Lopez to various top clubs. Bruno Alves to various top clubs. Katsouranis moving to the Bundesliga.
  12. Re: Tommy Rowe Tommy has signed for Peterboro. Great find!
  13. Re: Portuguese Ratings Yep all Portuguese ratings are done and will probably be reviewed again in in about 2-4 months i think.
  14. Re: Portuguese Ratings As soon as i say what i did FC Porto go and make a bid. Cruzeiro have released an offcial statement saying that FC Porto have made a bid of 1 million to co-own Maicon's contract. Cruzeiro have to start holding on to their players Nene, Maicon etc..
  15. Re: Arsenal Gossip I would like to think Pat Rice has a big influence. Lets not forget he probably has just as much experience as Arsene Wenger being under differernt successful coaches and racking up 400 odd games for us. Even if he is a "yes" man he must have an abundance of experience that will undoubtedly help him become a successful manager from Arsene Wenger, Terry Neil, Bertie Mee etc. Its true though, whats the point of bringing up youngsters if they don't there chance? + youngsters' wage bill and transfer fee if any isn't very large and that can only benefit a club in not only purchasing the player but then selling him for a larger fee. Rosicky won't play at Arsenal if he is second choice.
  16. Re: Arsenal Gossip Exactly, by appointing him he can only do good for the club. After all these years of second fiddle he deserves his chance. Its a bit sad for Pat Rice a player/manager with a wealth of experience and never really got his chance to become a successful manager. But obviously i'll be sad to see Wenger go. I think its time Rosicky left the club. With the introduction of Arshavin/Nasri he has no place. + by selling Rosicky this can only benefit the youngsters coming through: Gibbs, Wilshere, Lansbury, Watt/Sunu whoever plays on the wing. On another topic Havard Nordtveit (Our most promising CB along with Bartley) played for his new club today Lillestrom played the whole game. This can only do him good.

  18. Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season Ramires of Cruzeiro has signed a deal with Benfica
  19. Re: Youngsters in Portugal I've decided to restart this thread. Also David Simao one the players i mentioned previously has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Also his agent is Pini Zahavi a world renowned agent who has links with a lot of big clubs. Refer to Abola and Record for further info. (Record and Abola two of the most reliable websites regarding Portuguese transfers.)
  20. Re: Youngsters in Portugal Diogo Rosado Diogo Jorge Rosado (Diogo Rosado) is a 19 year old Attacking midfielder currently on the books of Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon. He is considered one of the best talents in the Sporting youth team and Portuguese youth teams. Some consider him as the next Joao Moutinho and Guti. Youth Career Diogo Rosado began his career at a young age playing for his local club Peniche. His sterling performances caught the eye of Sporting scouts and was quickly transfered to the Sporting youth academy at the tender age of 11. So far he has progressed greatly through the academy and has gone passed every single stage of the academy earning great respect for his performances. This season will be his last in the reserves for Sporting and I'm 100% certain he will be playing for Sporting senior team next season. Senior Career Diogo Rosado is yet to make his senior debut for Sporting due to their being an immense amount on talent already in the midfield. Although he has made the bench for Sporting many times before. He was one of the 25 players to be listed by Sporting to play in the Champions but again never got his chance. This weekend marks the end of the Portuguese League and with Sporting already having there 2nd place confirmed Diogo Rosado might get his chance to feature along with other great talents. Portuguese youth Diogo Rosado has had a busy Portuguese youth career featuring for the U-17s, U-18s, U19s and the U-21s. He has played a handful of games for the U-19s and was called up at just 17 years old. Again he was called up for the U-21s at just the tender age of 18. He is a great player his a great future ahead of him and hopefully one day he can play for the Selacao. Video of his screamer that won Sporting the youth title.
  21. Re: Matej Delač - future +90 goalkeeper Do you think he will move to Dinamo/Hadjuk or just straight up move into Europe?
  22. Re: Arsenal Gossip For me our new manager must be Pat Rice. Pat Rice has been Wenger's No2 for along time time and i'd love to see what he can do when/if he becomes the actual manager. Deserves it after so many years as Wenger's right hand man.
