  1. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Have been away for 7 days and the results aren't impressive. Won once, lost twice. Turn 22 - Chesterfield beat Blackpool 4 - 0 in their Division 4 fixture. Lulic scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Piatti and Postiga were also amongst the goalscorers. Turn 23 - Chesterfield slumped to a 1 - 0 defeat to Cheltenham Town in their Division 4 fixture. Turn 24 - Chesterfield have lost to Colchester United 4 - 3 in a thrilling Division 4 encounter. Postiga and Piatti were amongst the goalscorers. 2. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread I've made an offer for Diekemier. EDIT: Ok the bid has been accepted. That's a fast n easy deal. Thanks mate.
  3. Re: English Championship 106 - Transfer/Gossip thread Chesterfield determined to keep Romulo Chesterfield are prepared to reject lucrative offers in a bid to keep Borges Romulo on their books in the long term. Romulo has been a key figure in Chesterfield side, making a good partnership with Jean Makoun in the central midfield. The former Vasco da Gama midfielder has started 14 games in all competitions this campaign, attracting the interest of several higher tier clubs such as Southend United and Millwall. And Chesterfield vice chairman wants to warn them away from the 21-year-old by rejecting any lucrative offers that came in. "If we want to improve, then we have to keep our key players in the squad," he told The Soccer Manager Times. "We will turn down any offers, simple as that. He know that we really value him here, and he feels happy here too." Chesterfield manager Dean Bryant are keen to keep Romulo for his current and future plan to build the club like he did when he was at Charlton Athletic. "He (Romulo) knows that our vision is to push this club to the next level and he wants to be part of it," Bryant said. "My style of developing players and building a club has never change and I want to show that my success at Charlton is just not about luck."
  4. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Well that's only part of it. Not only the first team players but some of the decent reserves that I had are gone too. I plan to kick start a new similar process in developing my own team with Chesterfield. It will take some time though.
  5. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread This is a bit ridiculous. Chesterfield lost 2-0 to Leicester City. Their keeper scored two bloody goals. He has scored 7 goals this season! Well done mate.
  6. Re: English Championship 106 - Transfer/Gossip thread Lulic snubbed 'huge' offers to join Chesterfield Midfielder Senad Lulic claims he shunned "very lucrative" offers in order to join Division 4 side Chesterfield. Lulic, 26, signed a four-year contract with the Spireites in January. "I had the chance to join a bigger club but the manager (Dean Bryant) and the club's vision have convinced me that I have made the right choice for my career." The Bosnia & Herzegovina international has probably produced his best form at Chesterfield over the past few weeks, playing a pivotal role in home victories over Luton Town and Rushden & Diamonds. Guti set for Chesterfield exit Guti warming the bench most of the season. Dean Bryant has confirmed Chesterfield veteran Jose Maria Guti is set to leave B2net Stadium in the near future. Guti, who cost £4.4 million from Preston North End last season, has found first-team places difficult to come by since the arrival of the new skipper Jean Makoun earlier this season. And after their 2-1 defeat to Northampton Town, Bryant confirmed the former Spain international is set to leave before the season ends. "His concern is not getting first-team football," said Bryant. "At 35, he is looking at first-team football. It is difficult for me to gaurantee that so it could lead to him looking elsewhere." Guti's contract is due to expire at the end of Season 16 and they expect a decent offer to come. However, the Spireites hierarchy know they would get more than what they paid for last season, with a few clubs already showing their interest to acquire his services. "We have heard a number of clubs enquiring about him and we would be considering any offers that come in," added Bryant. "I would be happy if he stays as a mentor for our younger players but he prefers to keep on playing regularly." Bryant confirmed Guti is again set to miss out against Leicester City as Chesterfield look to keep their impressive home record this season, saying "He could play tomorrow but I have good options in terms of central midfield players with Jean Makoun, Borges Romulo, Aleksandr Sapeta and Diego Valeri." Chesterfield not interested in Sammarco Chesterfield vice chairman David Jones has rejected speculation that the club could sign Paolo Sammarco from Sampdoria this season as Guti's replacement. Sammarco, a long-term target of Leyton Orient, appears certain to leave Sampdoria for English Championship with Plymouth Argyle, Notts County and QPR also tracking the player. Jones insists Chesterfield already have strength in that area and they have no interest in the Italian midfielder. "I've read stories, but we already have three excellent players in his role," Jones said. "Jean Makoun, Borges Romulo and Diego Valeri are doing well and we are therefore well covered in that area. However, we might look at younger prospect if Guti leaves the club."
  7. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Both play an important part in their real life clubs and I'm quite pleased that I didn't have to fork out ridiculous offers for them (no rival bids). I'm still working on the transfers especially Guti's replacement.
  8. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Both have a good chance of rising in the coming rating reviews. Now I'll have more options in the attack.
  9. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Thanks James. Btw, Sergio Pellissier (rated 88) and Guti (rated 88) can leave for 7.5mil and 6mil respectively.
  10. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Anyone got a centre back for loan? Preferably 87 or above.
  11. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Turn 19 - Chesterfield beat Rushden & Diamonds 2 - 0 in their Division 4 fixture. Postiga scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Guti was also on the scoresheet for his side. Turn 20 - Chesterfield slumped to a 2 - 1 defeat to Northampton Town in their Division 4 fixture. Arribas was on the scoresheet for his side.
  12. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread I've transfer listed 2 players for almost 2 weeks but still no external bids. Anyone having the same issue?
  13. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Chesterfield beat Luton Town 7 - 3 in a thrilling Division 4 encounter. Eliseu scored a brace and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Postiga (x2), Arribas, Gutierrez and Makoun were also amongst the goalscorers. That's more I like it; 7 goals. It's always good to have all my key players in the starting eleven. Now in the top 6.
  14. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Chesterfield comfortably won 3-1 at Oxford United. Jose Maria Guti, Teofilo Gutierrez and Sergio Pellissier got themselves on the scoresheet for the away team. Only lost 2 league games in the past 9 games in February. Hopefully this month will be even better.
  15. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Chesterfield were held to a goalless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
  16. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread The first two are very likely to increase when SM review Spain. Happy to sign them for low fees. Welcome and good luck mate.
  17. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Lost 2-1 away to Ipswich Town. Diego Valeri scored for the visitors. My strikers aren't scoring atm. :/
  18. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Chesterfield won 1-0 over Cardiff City. Innocent Emeghara scored the winner and was voted Man of the Match for his performance. His first start and was handed the captaincy without my notice. Not bad for a 85-rated player to influence the whole match.
  19. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Dean Bryant earned a draw with Chesterfield against Peterborough United. The match ended 1 - 1 between Chesterfield and Peterborough United in their Division 4 fixture. Eliseu was on the scoresheet for his side. And btw, I'm looking for a decent striker for pure cash. Must be < 30 years old, rated 87 or higher.
  20. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Lost 1-0 to Swindon Town. Another young talent coming in. Should get a small rise.
  21. Re: EC Anno Domini - General Discussion, Banter etc.. VACANCIES IF YOU WANT IN Rochdale board have officially terminated Dean Bryant's contract due to their poor performance this season.
  22. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Dean Bryant earned a draw with Chesterfield against Yeovil Town. The match ended 1 - 1 between Chesterfield and Yeovil Town in their Division 4 fixture. Postiga scored the only goal for Chesterfield and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Not a bad start at Chesterfield. Won 2, draw 2. As for transfers, Chesterfield have snapped up 10 promising young players for a total of £12mil. They are Falque Iago, Aleksandr Sapeta, Rodrigo Ponce, Marco Bueno, Janne Vansteenkiste, Kristian Alvarez, Adriano Grimaldi, Victor Mongil, Aissa Mandi and Yacouba Sylla.
