  1. Re: Official Red Devils thread Just noticed that an Exeter player, Sean Goss, played in that tournament for you, looks like he missed the penalty in the shoot-out () but apart from that how did he play?
  2. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread
  3. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread I fail to see how you couldn't score past us! Both Tully and whoever plays LB get ripped apart by any winger with a bit of pace and you just know that eventually Krysiak will fumble a cross into his own goal.. We're still unbeaten when we score first which shows how rarely it actually happens. And of course Cureton isn't allowed to play so it's even less likely
  4. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread I honestly think Messi would struggle to score in this team No away goal since 14th February, 20 games this season we have failed to score and just 2 points from the last 9 games. Even 5 wins is unlikely to save us now and there's more chance of Emile Heskey scoring 40 goals this season than that happening anyway. Of the players that have made at least 1 appearance this year I hope we release/sell/give away most tbh. Tully, Nardiello, Sercombe, Bauza, Jones, Shephard, O'Flynn, Pidgeley, Fortune, O'Brien, Ricketts, Keohane and maybe Gow as well although he's done ok since he joined. Which leaves us with; Krysiak, Archibald-Henville, Dunne, Noble, Coles, Duffy, Logan, Bennett, Frear, McNish, Nichols, Dawson. So basically 7 first team players and 5 of the kids. Of the loans, Oakley would be excellent if he wanted to come back, and I wouldn't mind having Cureton who should still do well in League 2. If Jake Taylor was going to be played on the wing then he'd be ok as well but I doubt Reading would want to ruin his career by letting him stay another year
  5. Re: Official Cricket Thread He's definitely still the right man to captain this team, maybe he is a little defensive but then again it works as Australia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have all struggled to make 300 in recent times. Wouldn't say he is the best captain in the world right now but he's certainly up there.

  7. Re: Gold Championship 1 News Salomón RONDON has completed his move to Grimsby Town from Leyton Orient for £25,718,000. All other offers were turned down. Didn't think I had a chance of getting him but decided to make an offer just in case.. just as well I did Used up basically all the transfer budget on him but hopefully his goals will take us into the play-offs this season.
  8. Re: Official Cricket Thread I don't think he'd be dropped just yet, but if he continued to struggle in the summer then I think he might 'resign'. To be fair to him, it's not like he's getting low scores, he makes a start of 30 then gets out. He was much better today so hopefully he can continue from that if a 2nd innings is needed.
  9. Re: Official Cricket Thread Strauss should never have given up ODI's, at the moment he has nowhere to go to get back into form whereas both Cook and Pietersen had the ODI's in Pakistan which they did well in, not that it helped them much for the latest test. I'd agree that Patel and Bopara aren't good enough but it's a little harsh on Monty. His fielding is poor but if anything cost England the win it was Broad's no ball when the lead was under 300 and the decision to play Patel in the first place. As long as he keeps bowling well then he should stay in the team, his batting isn't great but he's not completely clueless either. And they should ban sweeping or at least get Trott to show the others how to play it correctly:rolleyes:

  13. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread I wish this season would hurry up and finish, just waiting for a League 2 struggle next year now hopefully with most of the current team moved on. Absolutely dreadful performance against Wycombe on Tuesday, probably will haunt me forever it was so bad. Really disappointing that only 1 or 2 players looked like they really wanted to win what was such an important game. And Krysiak was finally dropped only for Pidgeley to come in and make even more mistakes We're so desperate that we've signed Alan Gow as well as Rohan Ricketts, ridiculous that we're bringing in so many players now, especially someone as bad as Gow. We've been utter cack all season so why start changing it this late:confused: I think we used 21 players all last year including Nichols and Tisdale himself playing a few minutes on the last day, this time we're nearing 40!
  14. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Helped by Krysiak gifting yet another goal We've now signed Lauri Dalla Valle on loan from Fulham and close to signing Rohan Ricketts who is a free agent. Embarassing that after criticising Yeovil for making 500 loans a week that we seem to be doing the same thing now! Looks like Oakley has been released by Leicester, now there is someone who could save us, no idea how we'd find enough money to pay him though
  15. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread
  16. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread What a crock of ... Down to last place as things stand.. but no problem because the goal machine John O'Flynn is starting. We're actually unbeaten this season when we score first, the only problem is we've only done it 9 times edit; O'Flynn is unmarked a few yards out and blasts his shot over the bar :/ Ridiculous that he's starting over Logan
  17. Re: GC19 discussion / rumours etc thread Thanks.. chairman wouldn't let Bellamy go but the other 2 will certainly help
  18. Re: Premiership 2011/2012 Discussion Is there another defender called Terry as well as John? edit; At the risk of bringing up 50 pages about Koscielny, anyone who chose Terry over him should be sacked instantly. Then again you could name probably 15 CB's that have been better than Terry this season!
  19. Re: GC19 discussion / rumours etc thread Chairman expects me to avoid relegation although I think I'll be lucky to get to 10 points Had an offer for Inzaghi of £10m which I've just accepted, leaves me very short on strikers but hardly in a position to turn that down. Somehow need to turn a Division 3 rated squad into something that can stay in Division 1 with just over £25 million.
  20. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread Didn't even realise I had the English Shield final yesterday and hadn't logged in since Saturday but luckily my first team were fit enough to beat Blackburn 2-1 with goals from N'Zogbia and Cacau. First honour with them since winning the 2nd Division four seasons ago:o
  21. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread
  22. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Notts County already 4-0 up at Charlton Meanwhile we've already given up after going 2-0 down, show some fight instead of rolling over after conceding for once
  23. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread Exeter smash transfer record for Soldado Exeter City smashed their transfer record late on Wednesday with the £27.6 million signing of Spanish striker Roberto Soldado, easily beating the previous highest fee of £20.4 million for Cedric Carrasso in December 2010. The 27 year old joins his 9th club in 11 seasons and has signed a 4 year contract after leaving Dynamo Moskva having played just 12 games in Russia. Despite interest from a number of other clubs, Soldado chose to continue his career in England where he has previously had a short loan spell at Blackburn and 3 seasons with Bolton. With Lisandro Lopez, Daniel Sturridge, Jeronimo Cacau and Eduardo da Silva already at the club Soldado will need to prove himself quickly when given his chance in the first team. However, with Lopez out injured for 3 weeks it is likely Soldado will make his debut tonight at his old club Bolton.
  24. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread For some reason we've signed Jonathan Fortune who was a free agent, should be a good signing but hardly going to help with creating more chances. We also appealed Noble's red card which was turned down so that's another £500 wasted, although Steve Perryman has said he'll pay for it Haven't seen the red because the useless BBC somehow missed it, but we very rarely appeal because we simply don't have the cash to do so unless it's obviously an awful decision (even then they get rejected ). Perryman makes an excellent point on the club website in that when he joined the club we had the 91st worst discipline record of the 92. The past few seasons our record has been excellent (if you take Barry Corr out!), we rarely moan at refs, we don't dive, Tis himself never complains about decisions to the media etc and because of it we are seen as a soft team. Last red card given to an opponent in a league game - December 2009. That is disgraceful to be honest, there have been a number of times a clear red hasn't been shown but it's amazing that it has been over 2 years since the last
