  1. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread Oi? Binya was the only one who played as a defensive midfielder, but I had to include him in the lot to really stress out the quality of your midfield in these past years. Beto was a more defensive minded CM, but not exactly a DM, while all the others played as CM and/or AM. You seem to think that the players deeds in the past are equal to what they can do in the present. Rui Costa came back to Benfica in his early 30's to finish his career and watch Porto win a bunch of titles. He was great, yes. Are you implying th
  2. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread Yes, and Rodriguez himself said he would like to return to Peñarol eventually. I think he wants to have another try in Europe before he moves back to Uruguay, but you never know. He is crazy, always carrying a Peñarol flag around.
  3. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... I'm looking for an high rated riser (89+) in the upcoming English OR Spanish changes. I have about 10,5M to spend. I was thinking Ashley Young but I'd rather hear the suggestions first. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread Nah, it just seems like France added Croatia's coefficients to their numbers. I fully expect Lyon and Marseille to be knocked out in the next round, so we'll be back to the fifth spot soon enough.
  5. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread What??? Common, be reasonable. First of all, quotation marks are not needed in the first sentence. Secondly, Witsel is a good player but he is no Moutinho. The Belgian was on top of his game at the beginning of the season and still his performances were narrowly better than Moutinho's on an average form. Now that Moutinho is playing at full throttle Witsel can't hold a candle to him. I'd go as far as saying that Witsel would be 3rd choice for Porto. And maybe even 4th if Guarin wasn't waiting to leave the team in Janua
  6. Re: FWC '11 Q1 Play-off My vote goes to Dermo. I don't like DP, he's a douche.
  7. Re: The Ultimate SM Championship Still 4 points ahead despite tonight's 1-1 against Palermo.
  8. Re: FWC '11 Qualifying Group 6 cheekylad, the most optimistic ManU fan in the forum OR Herr Phil, whose name is easier to spell than Schweinsteiger's Both of them add a lot to different sections of the forum, but in the end I went for Phil. Wouldn't want in incur Merkel's wrath with Germany running the Euro and all...
  9. Re: FWC '11 Qualifying Group 5 Daragh. Could have gone for Arfon though...
  10. Re: FWC '11 Qualifying Group 3 I hate Tiesto. I really do. He's Swedish (duh!) and he sold his soul to Beelzebub when he started to support Benfica just to annoy me back in 2009 (don't you dare to deny this!)... Not to mention he maintains their fan group. Bah. But then again, how could I not vote for him? Here goes a big hug directly to the small village of Malmö:
  11. Re: FWC '11 Qualifying Group 4 All your base are belong to us. AsianInvasion of course. I never had the opportunity to decently talk to any of the forumers on this group but AI used to be my boss in the Intercourse custom setup and he was always a top guy to chat with.
  12. Re: FWC '11 Qualifying Group 2 Elohim! He's probably my favourite Frenchman after Mangala. Swanseajack and JinxM are great forumers as well and to be fair I was surprised at the results.
  13. Re: FWC '11 Qualifying Group 1 8 votes for that DP bloke! They need an Asylum ASAP. Well, my criteria was simple: offer my vote to a friendly and intelligent forumer who is helpful and also a nice guy to have a chat with. Since voting for me would be lame I scraped the criteria altogether and went for Dermo instead. I deeply regret it though since we're now tied in the poll. Arghhh!
  14. Re: The Drafting League The Late Night DL News A talented young side with the likes of James, Mangala and Gaitan in the XI proved to be enough to overcome Messi and co. in Porto's away clash against Chelsea. 2-3 was the result and Porto is now sitting on a comfortable 10th place, although it's still far from being acceptable, at least considering the status of strongest team and having the most talented manager at the beginning of the season. Meanwhile, the rumours about the usage of performance enhancing drugs by TDL's top teams are intensifying. Bayern's smashing victory against PSG
  15. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread I wouldn't say it is 100% accurate but Porto is looking to sell some players who should have left in the summer already and AVB is eager to have a couple of his former co-workers back. Mourinho-esque tendency I guess. Chelsea needs talented wide players like water in the desert, and a holding midfielder too. Alvaro Pereira and Moutinho fit the bill and there's a lot more than rumours spreading in our circles... But don't worry, January will come soon enough.
  16. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread Haha, please...
  17. Re: Bundesliga Ratings 2011/2012 (I) One of the reviewers must have Podolski in his team.
  18. Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread Alvaro Pereira to Chelsea in January. Can't say I'm too happy about it, he has been playing very well lately. But I suppose we could use the money for an extra CF. João Moutinho is also being discussed but I'm not sure if he's leaving in January or in the Summer.
  19. Re: SM Private Messages Manchester United 'suck' in the CL this season too. So what? Arsenal or Chelsea are now superior because they progressed? Fine by me. We were extremely unlucky not to qualify. You were simply incompetent. Not to mention you had by far the easiest group in the competition. But we're going a bit off topic aren't we? See you in EL.
  20. Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread Indeed? I believe there are some quality teams in Europa League this season. Whether the English will walk over it will depend on how seriously they'll face the fact that Europa League is a 2nd tier European competition. Honestly I think neither of the Manchesters will be in the final simply because they will reach a point were the PL title will be a showdown between them both and Europa League will be regarded as the least of priorities. I'd say Porto and Valencia are probably the teams to be reckoned with. Porto currently holds the title and the
  21. Re: Bundesliga Ratings 2011/2012 (I) Just an extra piece of information: at the end of the top leagues review Podolski will most likely be rated the same as Soldado, Huntelaar, J. Hernández, Falcao, Hulk or Cavani. All of them are superior, more consistent and playing in European competitions. Yeah, go figure... Seeing how the German ratings are being conducted I wouldn't be surprised if Lahm and Schweinsteiger end up rising to 95 or Gotze to 91.
