  1. Re: The Minor Improvments Thread Please put back the home link on the top navigation and please, please put back the tabular navigation lower down. Just got used to the new layout and now when I want to switch from squad to tactics etc I have to scroll up first which increases the time it take to complete tactics etc.
  2. Re: Gold Championship 167 Thread Gone for Montpellier this time No plans on selling any of our key players for the time being.
  3. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC5 - Shakhtar Complete League & Cup Double Marked my 50th game at the Donbass Arena with a 3-0 victory against Chornomorets to secure the Eastern European League title. We also lifted the Russian & Ukranian Cup on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win against Amkar to complete an efficient first season to my tenure at the club.

  7. Re: Gold Championship 160 Recent League Result: 18 Feb - Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Swansea City Just the start to the season we were hoping for and a very important win for us considering both clubs are expected to feature in the battle for Premiership survival this season. Petrov opened the scoring on the 28th minute with our first goal of the season after heading in a cross from the left. Fabrice Muamba secured the 3 points on the 50th minute when he scored a superb goal from an acute angle. Upcoming Fixtures: 22 Feb - Newcastle United (A) 25 Feb - Tottenham Hotspur (A) English Shield Round 1: 20 Feb - Notts County (H)
  8. Re: Gold Championship 63 Official Match Reports And Transfer News Thread. Bury Update I took charge of Bury on February 8th, 2012. The club are currently battling down in division 5. With 15 games gone we currently sit in 5th position, 8 points off the automatic promotion places. Luton Town are sitting comfortably at with 42 points. The gap is almost certainly too big for us to close down but we make a good challenge for a second place finish. I have completely rebuilt the squad since I arrived at the club keeping only 3 of my original players. There was very little cash to work with so I focused on trading with external clubs to increase the quality of the squad. Our current first choice XI looks like this: GK Par Hansson (85) RB Alejandro Castro (80) LB Djamel Mesbah (85) CB Sally Sarr (82) CB Ammar Jemal (85) DM Kamil Agalarov (84) CM Nuno Coelho (84) CM Gonzalo Castellani (80) WG Scott Sinclair (85) WG Marvin Zeegelaar (78) FC Tomas Pekhart (85) Recent League Results: 15 Feb - Grimsby Town 0-1 Bury This was a relatively comfortable victory for us on the day. We managed to score early on when Russian defensive midfielder Kamil Agalarov was allowed too much space and made no mistake from 10 yards. From there on possession ensured the victory. 18 Feb - Bury 1-0 Bristol Rovers The score flatters Bristol Rovers somewhat as we totally dominated the game and really should have scored more. French central defender Sally Sarr scored the winning goal on the 59th minute with a powerful right foot shot that he'll be proud of. Upcoming Fixtures: 22 Feb - Stockport County (A) Friendly Match: 25 Feb - Rennes (A)
  9. Re: Gold Championship 60 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Luton Town Update I took charge of Luton Town on February 8th, 2012. The club are currently battling down in Division 5. On my arrival the club already had a decent looking squad for the level we’re playing at but no transfer budget to work with. I decided to trade out a number of players with external clubs to strengthen the squad where possible. The season is already near the half way point but although we are currently in the play-off positions we are a good distance from Rotherham United and Cheltenham Town who occupy first and second position. Our current first choice XI looks like this: GK Antonio Adan (83) RB Giulio Donati (82) LB Jose Catala (87) CB Sitoe Mexer (82) CB Chechu Dorado (85) DM Alberto Escasi (77) CM Mohammed Abu (82) CM Reinhold Yabo (80) WG Adrian Mierzejewski (86) WG Giovanni Sio (85) FC Emiliano Alfaro (83) We recently played a couple of friendlies due to the mid-season break... Recent Friendly Results: 11 Feb - Vitoria 1-2 Luton Town 15 Feb - Luton Town 1-0 Livorno Upcoming Fixtures: 18 Feb - Rotherham United (H) 22 Feb - Dagenham & Redbridge (A)
  10. Re: Gold Championship 21- News, Transfers & Match Reports Huddersfield Town Update I took charge of Huddersfield Town on February 8th, 2012. The club are currently struggling down in Division 5. With more than half the season already gone our best hope will be to progress through the play-offs. I have completely revamped the squad since my arrival but since money was tight I decided to trade my original squad with external clubs. Our current first choice XI looks like this: GK Juan Carlos (83) RB Domagoj Vida (85) LB Fraga Edimar (82) CB Tim Ream (83) CB Jaroslaw Fojut (82) DM Marcelo Diaz (85) CM Pereira Juninho (82) CM Serhiy Rybalka (80) WG Anthony Pilkington (83) WG Mervan Celik (82) FC Emmanuel Gigliotti (82) Recent League Results: 11 Feb - Huddersfield Town 3-2 Bury A really exciting encounter but the score line doesn’t show our domination of the match. Juan Carlos had a solid debut in goal but the major talking point of the game was that of our new French forward Valere Germain managed to surprise everyone by scoring a hat-trick on his debut. 15 Feb - Huddersfield Town 3-0 Torquay United This was the first test for our revamped squad and they didn’t disappoint. It was a very strong team performance and should be a sign of things to come. Argentine striker Emmanuel Gigliotti had a fantastic debut with 2 assists, 1 goal and the man of the match award. To be fair the team we can field now should be dominating most every game in division 5. We really need to go on a good run now if we’re to have a chance of making the play-offs. Upcoming Fixtures: 18 Feb - Dagenham & Redbridge (A) 22 Feb - Gillingham (H)
  11. Re: Official GC136 Discussions/Transfers/Reports Thread Celtic Update I took charge of Celtic on December 12th, 2011. The league campaign has gone very well under my management so far. We are unbeaten in my first 17 matches. The highlight was a 6-0 demolition job over Rangers at Ibrox on December 17th. We currently sit top of Scottish Division 1 on 44 points with 18 games played. Hearts are 16 points behind in 2nd place. As for Rangers, they are having a very poor season so far by their standards. They are 21 points behind us in 6th place. We have made 3 major additions to the first team squad: Ludovic Sane from Bordeaux for £11.7M Paul Baysse from Stade Brestois for £8.2M Enzo Perez from Godoy Cruz for £16.9M I'm happy with the purchases of Sane and Baysse as they should be decent players for us in the long term. The price we paid for Enzo Perez was stupid but at the time we were desperate and he was the only 88+ midfielder available at the time. We were relying on 75 rated Leandro Paredes to cover injuries and fitness issues in midfield. Patrick Bamford was also added to the Celtic Youth Academy. Recent League Results: 11th Feb - Celtic 2-0 St. Johnstone We left it late to secure the 3 points but it was a comfortable victory for us in the end. Central defender Ricardo Costa opened the scoring on the 75th minute after he volleyed his shot into the back of the net. Enzo Perez finished the game off after seizing on an error by the St. Johnstone defence, rounding the keeper and scoring with ease. 15 Feb - Dundee United 0-1 Celtic We produced another solid performance in this game. A little disappointed that we weren’t able to increase our goal difference but we accomplished the most important job by coming away from the game with all 3 points. Cameroon International midfielder Jean Makoun was the hero of the game. He scored the decisive goal on the 47th minute after a mix up in midfield allowed him to power through and ping a low shot past the advancing Dundee United keeper Dusan Pernis. Poor SMFA Cup Performance The SMFA Cup has been a complete disaster for us. We lost our first 4 games in a tough Group F against Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa. The only positive is that we did manage to win our 5th game beating Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 but we are long out of the competition. We’ll be looking to put in a good performance in our final group game against Aston Villa so we can hopefully leave the competition with our heads held high. Scottish Shield Final Heartache 13 Feb - Rangers 1-1 Celtic (Rangers win 4-2 on penalties) We controlled much of the game and I feel we were unlucky not to come out of this with the trophy. Alan Kasaev put us 1-0 up on the 47th minute after nodding the ball home from a corner. Just as we were thinking we had the victory in the bag Rangers scored an equaliser on the 82nd when Landry N’Guemo beat the offside trap. Rangers had Teteh Bangura sent off 3 minutes later for spitting but it didn’t help our cause in the end. On to the penalty kick lottery and we finish with heavy hearts and the runners up medal. Upcoming Fixtures: 18 Feb- Inverness CT (H) 22 Feb – Ross County (A) SMFA Champions Cup Group F: 20 Feb - Aston Villa (H)
  12. Re: GC125 Offical Thread Lazio Update I took charge of Lazio on December 10th, 2011. I am not at all happy about our league form since I arrived at the club. We are so inconsistent. In 18 league matches my current record is 9 wins, 2 draws, and 7 losses which is just not good enough considering the quality of the squad. I hope we can only look forward to performing much better next season. I have made no major signings so far as the squad was perfectly suited to my prefered formation when I arrived. I have let go of a few players. We have raised a total of £65.9M through sales. We have added 3 players to the youth academy during my time at the club: Will Keane Patrick Bamford Diacko Fofana Recent League Results: 11th Feb - Lazio 1-0 Catania A decent performance against a team who although unmanaged are performing better than us in the league. Alessandro Matri scored the decisive goal on the 37th minute with a powerful header. Central defender Andre Dias received a deserved straight red card which was a disappointment. 15th Feb - Chievo 1-0 Lazio Got no explanation for this poor performance. Chievo had the better of the possession and having Lopez Adrian sent off on the 38th minute after a second yellow card certainly didn't help our cause. This weeks performance has been typical of our form so far in my time at the club. I trust and like my tactics so won't even consider changing them. Just have to hope the team can find some consistency by next season. And 2 red cards in a week is a little concerning. We currently sit in 11th place after 34 games. Not good enough! Italian Cup Quarter Final: 13th Feb - Parma 1-1 Lazio (Parma win 4 - 3 on penalties) Hugely disappointing result as I was really hoping this competition could prove fruitful for us but it just wasn't to be. Once again the players didn't produce the goods. With only 2 shots on target and slightly worse possession we didn't deserve to win. Upcoming Fixtures: 18 Feb - Cesena (H) 22 Feb - Cagliari (A)
  13. Re: Gold Championship 105 Match Reports and Transfer News Spartak Moskva Update I took charge of Spartak Moskva on December 10th, 2011. CSKA Moskva had a good lead on us at the top of the table when I arrived at the club and so far I haven't been able to claw that back. Losing twice to them didn't help matters. I have made one major addition to the squad. Etienne Capoue was signed from Toulouse for £25.1M on the 21st January. Four players who were surplus to requirements were sold raising a total of £42M. We have added 4 players to our youth academy in the last week: Antonio Rozzi Diacko Fofana Giammario Piscitella Erik Durm Recent League Results: 11th Feb - Amkar 0-2 Spartak Moskva We totally dominated and really should have scored more. Our goals were scored early on in the game. A nice volley by Gervinho on the 18th minute and Bruno Cesar with a clever finish on the 20th. 15th Feb - Spartak Moskva 4-1 Metalurh Donetsk Another dominating performance but this time we were able to smash four in the back of the net. Gervinho scored a brace to cap off a brilliant week. Bruno Cesar also completed a great week's work by scoring again and also earning himself the man of the match award. Fabrizio Miccoli also got his name on the score sheet. We currently sit comfortably in 2nd position but find ourselves an embarrassing 16 points behind the league leaders CSKA Moskva. They pretty much have the title in the bag now but it sure would be nice if we could close down the gap to at least give them something to think about for next season and give us some much needed confidence that we can give them more of a fight. Upcoming Matches: 18th Feb - Lokomotiv Moskva (A) 22nd Feb - Metalist (H)
  14. Re: Gold Championship 103 Match reports and Transfer news. Bayer Leverkusen Update I took charge of Bayer Leverkusen on December 10th, 2011. Since my arrival we have managed to climb up the league table and cement a place in the SMFA Shield for next season. As the first team squad was already nicely balanced for my preferred formation we have only signed Will Keane and Patrick Bamford for the youth academy. Several fringe players were also sold. Recent League Results: 11th Feb - Bayer Leverkusen 2 -1 Greuther Fürth We expected to win this game comfortably but it turned out to be a close contest in the end. Our efforts were not helped by Stefan Reinartz who was sent off for a disgraceful tackle on the 28th minute. Luckily for us we have Stefan Kiessling in our team and he decided to put in a man of the match display scoring 2 quality goals in the process. 15th Feb - VfB Stuttgart 0-3 Bayer Leverkusen A difficult trip against the league leaders but we rose to the occasion and turned out a fantastic performance. We dominated in both possession and shots to deservedly win the game. Our goals were scored Stefan Kiessling, Simon Rolfes and Milos Krasic. A very good week for us. The result against VfB Stuttgart especially gives me optimism for a possible title challenge next season. Another positive is that the 6 points earned this week cement our 5th place position in the league practically guarantee us a place in next seasons SMFA Shield. Upcoming Matches: 18th Feb - Hamburger SV 22nd Feb - Bayern München German Cup Quarter Final: 20th Feb – SC Paderborn 07
  15. Re: Gold Championship 160 We filled our vacant central defender position in the form of Slobodan "Rambo" Rajkovic. He was a costly acquisition to the squad at £8.5M from Hamburger SV. At that price the deal is somewhat of a gamble in many respects. The player does have talent though and plenty of potential to improve on his 85 rating in the near future. At best he can improve and gain a place in our first choice XI. At worst he'll be a useful squad player who can cover the central defender and left back positions. The loan deal for Dedryck Boyata has now been terminated as his services are no longer needed. With the central defender position sorted we decided to try and improve our options at left back. AS Saint-Etienne accepted our £8.5M offer for promising youngster Faouzi Ghoulam. A large price to pay once again but I'm confident we have found good value in a player that will improve on his 84 rating soon enough and push for a place in our first choice XI. Ghoulam's arrival means that Marcos Alonso has lost his place in the first team squad. He has since joined SV Sandhausen on a seaon long loan deal. Our final addition to the squad will see Senegalese attacker Pate Diouf join from FC Kobenhavn in the next 24 hours after our bid of £2.9M + Tope Obadeyi & Robbie Blake was accepted. Although the player himself is nothing special he will improve our cover for the winger and striker positions. The only remaining transfer news to share is that promising striker Marvin Sordell has joined Middlesbrough to help with their promotion push on a season long loan deal. First Choice XI - Season 1 GK: Jussi Jaaskelainen (88) RB: Gretar Steinsson (87) LB: Paul Robinson (86) CB: Zat Knight (87) CB: Sam Ricketts (86) DM: Nigel Reo-Coker (88) CM: Stuart Holden (87) CM: Fabrice Muamba (87) WG: Chung-Yong Lee (87) WG: Martin Petrov (87) FC: Kevin Davies (87) As you can see we haven't made any improvements to our best XI but we have at least been able to improve the squad overall with 3 decent additions. With regards to our ambitions for season 1. Most importantly we have to try and secure our Premiership status and that is going to be tough considering the calibre of manager in this league. Well that's all the business Bolton will be doing until the end of the season. All our focus now will be on results. Looking forward to an interesting season. Good luck to everyone
  16. Re: Gc160 I have taken on Bolton Wanderers in the first new GC i've joined for a long time. Glad I did now looking at the lineup in England Can see this being very interesting indeed. Also giving Denmark a go. The Bolton squad is nicely balanced for my prefered 4-3-3 formation so I'm not in any desperated need to make changes to the squad. Only hole that needs filling is at central defence but we have Dedryck Boyota on loan from Manchester City covering that space in the squad for the time being. He'll be sent back home when we have signed a suitable central defender. Ryo Miyaichi and Sanli Tuncay have gone back to their parent clubs as their loan deals have been terminated. Our target for the season is to secure Premiership safety.
  17. Re: Gold Championship 5 official match thread I took control of Shakhtar a couple of months back and so far no complaints. We have a firm grip on the 1st place spot in the Eastern European League with 19 games gone. We're 11 points clear of 2nd place Dnipro. More importantly we are 13 points clear of Spartak Moskva, our main rivals in terms of quality. We recently managed to avenge our humiliating Shield Quarter Final defeat against Spartak Moskva by beating them 2-0 in a crucial league encounter. Our performances in the SMFA Cup have been nothing short of fantastic. We comfortably won Group A with a round remaining which was a good achievement considering we had Chelsea, Newcastle United and Panathinaikos to keep us company. Looking forward to seeing how we perform in the knockout stages. Some transfer business was done during my first week at the club with the aim of filling a few holes within the squad: Sinan Bolat from FC Kobenhavn for £9.5M Roman Neustadter from Accrington Stanley for £8.2M Willem Janssen from AS Monaco for £7.7M Georg Niedermeier from Werder Bremen for £4.0M We also added Patrick Bamford and Will Keane to the youth squad.

  20. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread I have been at Udinese for a couple of months now. Season 10 was coming to an end just as my time at the club began. The Italian Cup was secured along with a 6th place finish in the league. Season 11 started with a Charity Shield Final match against Sampdoria which we won 3-2. The league campaign has started reasonably well. We currently hold 5th position but we are already quite some way from league leaders Fiorentina after their incredible start. Our ambitions for the season are to push for a place in the SMFA Cup. A good run in the SMFA Shield would also be nice. We beat Sparta Praha 3-1 on aggregate in the 1st round. We currently lead West Ham 3-1 on aggregate after the 1st leg of the 2nd round and we’ll be hoping for a strong performance at the Friuli in the 2nd leg. We strengthened a couple of positions in the first team squad at the start of the season. Danny Simpson was signed from Dynamo Moskva for £11.4M to provide cover at right back and Kevin Anin was signed from Sochaux for £10.9M to provide cover at central midfield. Promising youngsters Patrick Bamford and Will Keane were also signed as welcome additions to the youth squad.
