  1. Czech Republic are being underrated imo. Pretty odd, given that it's blindingly obvious that they have a top-class striker, a very good defender, a decent keeper, and work hard for each other. They normally do well from set pieces too, but were dreadful with their corners against Scotland: so that, right there, is an area they are capable of improving straight away. They're about 80/1 generally. It's like the performance is being discounted because it's 'only' against Scotland.

Not sure who said it, but all changes should apply at the end of each SM season so people have time to make changes before the next competitive game.

    I think that’s a good idea.

Once just now, once yesterday. Putting in all the right credentials but it doesn’t recognise me, Ive had to reset my password twice.

Just thought I had really bad short term memory loss.

Must be a clever chap, whoever it was.

Sorry for going off topic but wanted to get a question to the regulars so this seemed the best place... has anyone had any problems logging in to the forum over the last couple of days?

No, but my log in is automatic. I haven't tried logging in with a different device.

  4. I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but it sounds like you might be playing Soccer Manager 2021, which is single player. If you want to play against other managers you have to play Soccer Manager Worlds,  which is multiplayer. It's quite possible that I'm misunderstanding you though.

Cash in on Joe Scally now (+3 today) or is he a genuine prospect?

in my world they were brand new accounts and managers just suddenly appeared after having played all season with only 15 or so in the league suddenly we were getting new managers joining weekly all due to play me. Onyi A is the name of the manager who tried to stop me. hope he isnt up to his old tricks again.

Yes, that's a bit more blatant. Mine were fairly old accounts. I don't recognise the name you give either.

Is there any reporting mechanism on SM? Some suspicious activity in one of my GWs.

Locked into a title race with another team, level on points but I'm ahead on GD. I had a string of unmanaged teams to close the season, which should be manageable to get maximum points.

A new manager comes in to take over the team I'm facing on Matchday 37. Fortunately, I beat this team to keep my edge in the title race.

This manager then quits this team, and takes over the team I'm facing on Matchday 38! Surely that can't be a coincidence...

Something similar happened to me recently as well. Managers shouldn't be able to manage two clubs in a division of a gameworld in the same season, imo. At least it would make it slightly more difficult to do this sort of thing. It could just be a mate of your opponent, and therefore not cheating as such, but it's  something that should be made more difficult to do.

Pedro Gonçalves any rise? Had a sensational season at Sporting and just seen he got picked for the Portugal squad as well.

He might turn out to be the best Portuguese player Wolves ever had. He's had a string of rises already though, and I imagine SM will wait to see how he gets on in the Euros.

River Plate won 2-1 tonight, but here is what makes the victory so incredible:

    - only 11 players in the squad due to a covid-19 outbreak.

    - 0 goalkeepers available.

    - played an injured Enzo Perez in net, who happens to be a midfielder.

    Only in the Copa Libertadores🔥

Only now clocked just what a collection of names River Plate's XI was yesterday.

Enzo Perez (88, but probably an 80 GK, being nice to him); David Martinez (82), Maidana (86), Lecanda (73); Angileri (83), Carrascal (83), Pena (not on db), Paradela (78), Cascio (87), Fontana (78), Alvarez (80).

Just three experienced veterans and one of them in goal! 😂

Typical bloody SM. And I bet the OOP gk was 10/10 motm as well. Oh wait, this was real life? :o

To be fair Independiente Santa Fe seem to have put out a team of mainly 82 and unders, with one or two I couldn't find. Pretty bad night for them even so.

  10. 22 minutes ago, AlfonDaddy said:

Nah it can’t be that because Neymar is worth over £40 million as well and it says £40million+ which I think is the only option on the older SM

That's a good point. As you say, it's £40m+ rather than just £40m. Perhaps this is a good reason to stop using the older version.

i mean on the search page. not the drop down like you showed.
    For example:
I search for all french players, nothing on the list only kante benzema and varane at 94 tops no 95 mbappe.
Search for all world top forwards i get nothing.

You've got something else set in the search. If I set max value as £50m, for example, and search for French players, Mbappe disappears. It's something like that.

  12. Please have a look at Csaba SZATMARI ingame. I'm seeing 75 in the left panel, but when I check his history I'm seeing 75->77 on 10 April. I'm not in great form this morning (or indeed this afternoon :D) and feel like I'm missing something obvious. It's a bug though, surely?

All of the clubs I took over were in the lowest division ( most still are :D ) and I rarely see any goals from corners, either by my side or the opposition. So I think maybe the rating of the player taking the corner does matter.

This was because I was using the 2D highlights thing instead of the text commentary, although I think most of you realised this. :D With the 2D thing no goals from corners. With text commentary, goals from corners and wide fks suddenly appear as if from nowhere.

  14. Wolves U23s had a match this afternoon against Reading. Had they won, Wolves would have clinched a play-off place to try to get out of division 2 and up into the top division. They were trounced 5-0, and will now probably have to win their last match, which is also against Reading. The interesting thing though is that Theo Corbeanu and Owen Otasowie were both left out because they're with the first team preparing for the match against West Brom, which isn't until Monday. This suggests to me that they might both be intended to get some minutes in that match.

I accept that Otasowie's in that awkward situation of being considered to be in the first team squad but not getting on much, so that he hardly ever plays any football ever, but he was in the previous U23 match so I think his absence here might be significant.

Corbeanu (65 rated, £140k) is FC on SM, and transfermarkt have him as FC as a main and RW/LW as secondary positions, but I think this is wrong. He played an hour for Canada as a midfielder (I'm not sure where he played on his brief debut from the bench) and seems to have been playing AMR/FR for the Wolves U23s up until a recent switch to AML/FL. In a recent U23 match report there is a comment about Wolves not having a recognised striker in the team because of injuries, yet Corbeanu was playing, and he wasn't the one asked to play up front. So I think neither Wolves nor Canada see him as an FC at the moment. Whether he's actually any good is another matter.
