  1. Re: La Liga Player Help/Updates Both players have been excellent this season with Sneijder scoring 4 goals so far and Aguero 5 in the league that is. They both, have just increased, so they do not deserve it just as yet. If they carry on at this level, a one point increase would be deserved, but not at the moment.
  2. Re: La Liga Player Help/Updates To be honest, he is an interesting player.Correia Adriano has played in 6 out of 8 of Sevilla's league games so far, is 23 years old and rated 92. He has not managed to score any goals yet in the league though, He is only going to increase in the future, if he carries on playing well. But for now, to be honest, he will not increase. Not yet anyway.
  3. Re: Ask the next person a question Favourite book ever?
  4. Re: happy bithday Kamil 4 months isn't that far from half a year Tom Happy "Birthday" Kamil.
  5. Re: GC-9 Awards Believe what you want, I have given my reason. I do not believe you know me well enough to make that presumption or judgment. Then again, I do not see Dai's or Fraser's name here often, really to be honest. I became more active, because I realised I wasn't on the forum for other people, so I admit to following the crowd. I am not a selfish person who loves myself, and if I was I would have made a thread saying I'm back, expecting people to say YAY etc, which you were suggesting to do- To do this, I would have to make a thread. I'd rather have kept quite.
  6. Re: GC-9 Awards I never made a thread Check if you want.
  7. Re: GC-9 Awards Being nice wasn't ever your best asset, was it? I'm not leaving the forum, I have decided against it. Not that it is any of your business anyway...
  8. Re: GC-9 Awards I think the overall manager of the month shoudl get 10 rep points The awards I think would have to be something like: Best Result Best Tactics Best Squad maybe? Also possibly player of the month award given to the manager... Anyways that kind of thing is what would be suitable.
  9. Re: La Liga Player Help/Updates Players to definetely watch out for: Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) – At just 20, one may say that he is already a big star. Indeed, was very bright last year with shades of ‘Maradona’ in his heyday about his play. But this season is going to see the boy become a man. He has already shown it in the first couple of weeks and expect him to do wonders and take the league by storm this time around. With Ronaldinho’s performances becoming more lacklustre by the day, it is Messi who should stand out among the ‘Cuatro Magnificos’. Rating: 95 Wesley Sneijder (Real Madrid) – A product of the famous Ajax youth system, this talented midfield playmaker has already captured the hearts of the hard-to-please Bernabeu crowd with his spectacular free kicks. People wondered who would be the replacement for Beckham: the new number 23, also aged 23, will do just fine. Expect him to show a consistency that Guti never managed. In fact, some would even say he makes Guti look a better player when played next to him. Rating:93 Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid) – Snapping up 19 year-old ‘Kun’ was one of the best things Rojiblancos have done in recent years. With club talisman Fernando Torres off to Liverpool - perhaps also lifting a weight off Atleti's shoulders in the process - this could be the year Aguero makes a name for himself in the expensive line-up at the Vicente Calderon. He scored the first goal of this La Liga season against arch city rivals, Real Madrid, and is already on top of the scoring charts. With five goals scored already, Aguero is fast attracting attention in this, his second campaign in Spain. Rating:91 Markel Susaeta (Atheltic Bilbao) – Bilbao are one of the three clubs in Spain never to have been relegated, managing to survive only by the skin of their teeth last season. That's down to squad strength. The club policy to use only Basque players and no foreigners doesn’t seem to be working too well in recent years, with Iraola being the last local Basque boy to really shine after comingthrough their youth ranks. 19 year old Susaeta, though, is the new find. Two goals against Barcelona and Zaragoza have already shown us his potential. Expect him to make a name for himself this season and he will play an important role in making Bilbao more stable. Bigger clubs will surely make a beeline for this new Spanish U-21 callup at the end of the season. Rated 78. Expected rise to 83. Giuseppe Rossi (Villareal) – "Lightning never strikes the same place twice" is a famous saying. But it's completely false. After striking gold when they bought Forlan from Manchester United, Villareal seem to have done it again with Giuseppe Rossi. A talented young forward, he has come in to fill in Forlan’s boots and to gain first team action which he would have missed out on in Manchester. With four goals to his name already, he seems to have settled in nicely. And at 19, the bright career of this Italian-American is just starting. Rated 88. Expected rise: 90 Sisi (Valladolid) – 21 year-old Sisinio Gonzalez Martinez is on loan at Valladolid from Valencia. A talented midfielder, he showed his explosive pace and skill in the game against Real Madrid, easily winning his battle against the expensive and much-vaunted Royston Drenthe of the Blancos. Valladolid broke records last seasons while being promoted to the First Division and, despite a questionable start to the campaign, the likes of Sisi are set to play a very useful role in their quest to stay up. Rating:85 Expected rise: 86/7

  11. Bye Bye Quique After Valencia's 3-0 beating to Sevilla, they found it was the right time to sack Quique Sanchez Flores. He has been under the hammer for months now, and despite the club's fourth position place in the La Liga, being battered 3-0 was too much for the club hierachy to bear. European football, too, must have played its part, the 2-0 defeat to Rosenborg midweek being perhaps Los Che's worst continental result in recent years. With the fans vociferously protesting against Quique's style of play, and the narrow margins of victory that the team sometimes produced, club president Juan Soler clearly felt that it was time to act. To this end, he convened a meeting at 01:45 local time, having remained in Valencia while the bulk of the executive corps travelled with the team to Sevilla. Upon their return at 02:49, the meeting began in earnest.
  12. Re: SM Predict - Season 3 - Week 11 I would like to replace Nav, if possible
  13. Re: La Liga Player Help/Updates Real Madrid Barcelona Villarreal Valencia Athletico de Madrid Espanyol Mallorca Racing Santander Zaragoza Sevilla Real Murcia Almeria Athletic Bilbao Osasuna Betis Recreativo Huelva Deportivo La Coruna Real Valladolid Getafe Levante Barcelona are now second having beaten Almeria 2-0 tonight in the La Liga. A goal from former Arsenal player, Thierry Henry and a penalty from Lionel Messi sealed the Catalan win. Real Madrid had troubles in the first half against Deportivo tonight as star player Xisco opened the scoring after three minutes. Shortly 5 minutes later Dutchman Ruud Van Nistelrooy equalised. Los Merengues, as they now are known as, left it till late when Raul and Robinho scored in the 79th and 89 minutes. Deportivo now trail relegation zone. Zaragoza beat Villarreal, who were second, a staggering 4-1. As goals from Ricardo Oliveira, Oscar, Diego Militon and Sergio Garcia sealed the night for Zaragoza, leaving Robert Pires to grab a consolation 9 minutes before the end. Levante, still without a single win lose to Athletico Madrid with Diego Forlan grabbing the only goal of the game. Although being exactly half the way on the table, Sevilla manage to batter Valencia 3-0 with goals from Kanoute, Poulsen and Fabiano. Valencia fall to 4th. Still not looking good for Real Betis as a goal-less draw with Athletic Bilbao leaves them quite close to the relegation zone. Dream Team for this week: ---------------------Cesar(7)-------------------- Alves(7)----------Ramos(7)-------Milito(7)------Salgado(7)-- Guti(8.5)---------Poulsen(8)------Oscar(9)------Santi(8)--- ---------------Oliveira(8)-------Kanoute(8)---------- Unkown players to watch out for: Albert Riera- http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?t=15737&highlight=albert+riera Increase to 89/90 Cazorla Santi- Increase to 90 All for now.
  14. If anyone is in desperate need of wanting to know the potential and so on of players in the La Liga, you can ask me questions about them, and I will do my best to help you. EDIT: I would also like to make this thread, with me giving you updates on La Liga.
  15. Re: Good evening! Welcome to the grateful forum. Feel free to voice your opinions and ask any questions you need answered that are not in the FAQ.
  16. Re: JOE HART Well, he let in 6 goals yesterday. Great start
  17. Re: nani? Err no he tried to, got past one then dived and got a free kick... Yes, fair enough Giggs plays great balls but that is not the only attribute to football. Giggs is old now, and Ferguson thinks that Nani is better otherwise he wouldn't keep Giggs out the team.
