  1. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Go for it. There's only a one point difference between them in rating, and Pepe is very safe at his 93. Like you say, it'd be difficult to get a better offer because people will be wary of Ferdinand's age.
  2. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Gozzy, Jordan - thanks for posting. I should have mentioned that I have Pedro and Robben who can both play as forwards if need be, so would that change your decisions at all?
  3. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Should I get Javier Pastore or Romelu Lukaku? The attacking mids I already have Thomas Müller and Mario Götze, while my two strikers are Gonzalo Higuain and Miroslav Klose.

  5. Re: Its time for few things These ideas are totally unworkable.
  6. Re: Sort out Player Positions I completely agree with the rest of your post, and the overall sentiment of it, but my Klose signal was beaming up at the sky here so as ever I'm compelled to reply While the scenario you described won't have happened very often, due to Bayern's one-striker system meaning that it's rare for both Klose and Gomez to be on the pitch at the same time, moving out wide is a massive part of Klose's game. Off the top of my head, I'd refer to the Germany - England game at the World Cup, where Klose dropped off to the right flank to drag the English centre-backs out of position and allow Thomas Müller the space to get in behind them and set up the second goal. I do agree though that instances like this are nowhere near enough to mean that he can play a full ninety minutes as an outside forward in a 4-3-3W system... If a manager wishes to replicate his movement for the national side on their SM tactics, having an arrow moving from the centre forward position out wide would do the trick.
  7. Re: 3-5-2 gone crazy in one set-up! Not the only one to notice this then? Last season my team was sitting pretty by about ten points at the top of the table after 29 games. We'd gone seventeen unbeaten from the first day of the season, and looked all set to win it comfortably - then, for no good reason, form collapsed and I won just two of my last nine games to finish second by a point. Very nearly had the same happen to me this time around, being nine clear with five games to go. We lost matchday 34 and 35, but thankfully won the next two to finally claim the title.

    Re: gerrard Fully deserved.
  10. Re: Bundesliga Risers, Talents & Droppers 2010 I'd guess this is because Kroos has been playing top flight football for longer - he made 17 league appearences in 2008/09, spread between Bayern and Leverkusen. They both got a +3 owing to having fine seasons, but Kroos was already a point higher.
  11. Re: New Update To SM See It First Here! This looks awesome tbh, I really like that it shows the date when players were bought (it soothes my ego to see I snapped up Higuain back in November 2006) - although for some reason the two players I bought in Season 1 - Higuain and Cristiano Doni - show as having been bought in Season 2, despite the correct date showing next to that and them being listed for my club in their career statistics. Once they actually add the ability to close these pop-up windows, it'll be fantastic.
  12. Re: G. Higuain needs rated-up... Correct. Pure opinion.
  13. Re: Players: Should I buy, sell or keep? Which one of Ballack or Marcos Senna should I let go?
  14. Re: Bundesliga Risers, Talents and Droppers 2009 Ahh, but Goal.com is an awful site for ratings - and everything else. I wouldn't use it for anything unless it was the only option. Specialist sites such as Kicker (only available in German) would give a more accurate assessment.
  15. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... A slim chance? 10 goals in 12 League games this season. 22 goals in 34 League games last season. A regular for Real Madrid for 3 whole years (encompassing 3 and a half seasons) since joining. I don't see how SM could justify keeping him to a 92? I remember the debates before about Higuain, and I distinctly remember that many people held the opinion that he couldn't get into the high ratings - 92 or above - without scoring in the Champions' League and playing for his country. This season he has done both, and coupled with his fantastic form he should be a certainty to rise.
  16. Re: Should Bad Managers Be Fired? I don't think it'd be a good change in the game. As it is, managers can still come into a setup that has been going for quite a few seasons, take over any Division 2 or 3 club and with a little bit of time have them performing well in the top flight. If this could only be done with big clubs and star players, we wouldn't see managers want to take over sides like Panathinaikos or Chesterfield or whatever else, and the setups would decrease in popularity. This also applies to new setups, where if you missed out in the rush to claim a Man Utd or other such club, you might as well not bother playing at all. I do see your point that too many great sides flounder and get relegated but that's just a problem that will always exist in a game with so many setups, where quite a large percentage of managers will take over a club but neglect to manage them regularly.
  17. Re: Should Bad Managers Be Fired? I think it'd be a tragedy and source of immense frustration to be sacked from a side you've managed for numerous seasons. I know that if I lost one of the teams I've been managing since 2006 that I'd lose all desire to go on SM again. I like the idea of making it a feature in custom setups, but I think establishing it in other setups such as the Gold Championships would create more problems than it would solve.
  18. Re: Albiol or Mertasacker? Your comment makes it sound as though Mertesacker is an old player! He is only 25, and having maintained a 93 for a good couple of years now there's no reason to assume he'll drop anytime soon. I don't believe Albiol will or should rise to 93 at this rating change either.
