Frankfurt Manager Looking For Top 6 Finish

Clayton Green, manager of Frankfurt has sais that he has set a target for the team. Top 6!
With transfers for all other clubs happening, it does look like Frankfurt manager is holding back a little in the market.
When asked about who he wants to bring in, he said this.
"Well, I am just seeing all the players first to see where they are at. Also I want to bring in some loan players and then see where we can spend our money".
So.................who has any 89-90 players for loan? Cmon mateys!!!

Jurgen just has not the experience I would want. He has only really managed the national side. Who did do well. But they were the hosts!
Ramos has at least had experience in europe. But we dont have one spanish player. January transfer window! We will prob buy 5 spaniards!!

    Pan Sizzle Seven Past Sevilla
    Panathinaikos 7 Sevilla 1

    (and Sevilla played full strength!!)
Panathinaikos showed Sevilla the way to play football tonight! Sevilla with a full strength team were looking to move to 3rd in this match. But were hugely disappointed!!
21 minutes had gone with most football in the midfield. But an inspired run from GIMENEZ who cut inside and blasted from 25yards. 1-0.
From the kick off, Sevilla lost the ball, and GINENEZ scored his second, 2 in 2 minutes!! 2-0.
On 33 minutes, team captain, MOUTINHO. He finished a slick team move. 3-0. All nearly over!!
2 minutes later. PERNIA for the spanish side used good footwork and hit the ball home. 3-1.
But the goal was all in jest. When INZAGHI scored a magnificent goal. "A man on fire". 4-1
    Half Time - Panathinaikos 4 Sevilla 1
7 minutes in the 2nd half, GIMENEZ scored his hattrick with a well placed header. 5-1
FRANCO in the Sevilla made two great saves. But could not deny GIMENEZ. Yet again, scores his 4th with an early shot! 6-1.
And then on 78 minutes. MOUTINHO used his pace to get past the defender and chip the keeper with aplomb! 7-1
There could of been more goals in this match. But FRANCO saved a shot and its rebound with his feet.
    Full Time - Panathinaikos 7 Sevilla 1

    Re: Russia 2 England 1
Here's my take on the game.
Russia is a difficult place to win for any team. However, if we have these world class players that the British media leads us to believe, we shouldn't be losing.
There are faults at all levels in the English national team.
McClaren - Not good enough to take us forward. However much we all hated the negative Sven style of play at least we had a style. McClaren has only just stumbled upon a team that has balance because of injuries. He is trying to put square pegs in round holes. Lampard should have been dropped long ago. Beckham shouldn't have just been disregarded. As for the team yesterday - Lescott is a CB - play the BEST LB we have available that being Shorey. Robinson has been one of the worst goalkeepers in the EPL this year. Carson is chomping at the bit. His man management has been questioned numerous times and for me that passion still isn't there. Tactically not great and is more of a coach than a manager.
The players - Here is the biggest problem. There are several players within the squad that think they are European or World class. The truth is we probably have two or three. Owen, Gerrard and Terry. Of those three only Owen performs to consistent standard every game. Gerrard just doesn't have the same impact that he does for Liverpool. Terry looks slugish at times. Lampard just doesn't fit into the team. Rooney either really crap or good. Robinson... why?! The whole squad lacks that aggression and drive. Personally I want to see what it means to these players when they wear the three lions. I want to see them screaming the national anthem. They can learn a lot from our rugby team. Since Stuart Pearce who has shown what it means to them?!
The Russia game - The pitch didn't help, but its the same pitch for both teams, so for me thats not a good enough excuse. I thought it was a penalty. The player caught Rooney napping and he pulled him back. Debatable as to in or outside the box, but these things happens. Rooney was offside for his goal so these things do level out. Robinson should have dealt with the second goal better, but thats just what his form is like at the moment. He shouldn't have been out there or playing since the start of the season. Tactically I thought we were crap. Defending and hoping we might score is not good enough if we want to win something.
So where do England go now?
It's likely that we won't make the Euro Finals. The FA will sack McClaren simply because of the lost revenue that this will have caused. However much I hate saying it England need to look abroad for the next manager. There just isn't the talent yet. Stuart Pearce one day, but not yet. A certain Jose would obviously be a wonderful choice, but I doubt this would be a bit of him. Who else I honestly don't know! This was supposed to be the golden age of English football with all the players reaching their peak... how wrong we all are.

    Re: Russia 2 England 1
Hmmmm......I think a lot of points that have been made are correct imo.
England are over rated. But, not because of their players, because of the standard of their coaching and McLarens tactics.
Russia are under rated. They have so many skillful players on their team.
First of all, the positives. (And yes, there are some). Micah Richards, played very well I thought. Sol was better than Rio! Joe Cole was great.
Bad points:- Lescott at left back? No way. Never went forward. Instead, Rooney was going to the left when Cole was cutting in. When normally Rooney would stay central and Ashley Cole would bomb forward. No one has picked that up. Also, SWP was very quiet!
But my main grumble is this!!! We were too defensive!!!
There were times that Joe Cole was left back and Lescott would do in the centre!! Why?!?!? We keep on going on about "we cant keep the ball". Well, guess what. Well done England for defending great and, blocking shots, last ditch tackles and heading the ball out! But to who! Back to Mother Russia!! Sorry, but the midfield should stay in midfield! On one break for England Cole went forward and we lost the ball, so Rooney had to cover. And Rooney found himself in the left back position (Where Lescott should be) and what happened? The winger got the better of him, and Rooney brought him down. Penalty!! 1-0. Now, fair enough it was outside the box. But, Rooney should not of been there, and it is not really Lescott's fault. He is a CB. Not a LB. And it was his first full cap, and it was in an intimidating stadium!! Should of been Shorey!
We were playing so so deep at the back also. Russia never had a 30 yard shot. They could walk the ball in......which they did!!! 2-0.
McLaren Out!! And I have said that at the start. Out of depth I'm afraid. If only we had a great manager. Then we would be favourites for any Cup!
Also, Krucinho. England are better player for player! What was the score at home? Also, Hiddink is a class manager. He has great tactics!
Svejk. You are as bad as Krucinho mate.
Well, thats what I had to say on the matter. Also, well taken goal from Rooney!!!

Right. I am gonna be deadly honest here!!!!
Danny Williams the gooner has made some good points!!!
Now, I like to go to the goons thread and cause chaos! But, all I say, I believe!!!
Just like Danny. I think people need to have thicker skin on this forum. We aint babies. And if we are then. We need to be eating solids......quick!
Anyways, I love Martin Jol. But..............Why Darren Bent. And 99% of spurs fans know it was a BAD buy. Full stop. End of. Lets not lie people. We know we needed left winger, Bale is doing great there. So, if Jol already had that in mind. Then, why did we not get a CM and CB and poss LB???
We spent unwisley on Bent. But I am not sure it was all Jollys doing. Really dont.
We can only get better. We drew to a Liverpool team that were crap. In all honestly.
We still need to buck up at the back. Robbo needs to concentrate! And Berba needs to up his shots/goals ratio!! Misses too many chances.
Well, thats me being brutally honest!!
    CMON YOU SPURS!!!!

    Panathinaikos - Unbeaten This Season!

    Panathinaikos 1 Manchester City 0

Another game won for the greek side managed under Clayton Green, but this time was arguably the closest match yet for Panathinaikos.
The one and only goal came from loanie Aaron Lennon with a not so typical header from an inswinging corner.
But really, the player who received the applause was Panathinaikos keeper Antti Niemi!!
He had pulled 4 remarkable saves to keep City at bay. Even in the first minute he was called upon when he came roaring off his line to force a shot wide. And on the 11th minute tumbled across the goal to palm away a goal bound header.
On 38 minutes Joey Barton had a cracking shot but Niemi was at full stretch to tip it wide! 4 minutes later Vassell hit a snapshot, but a wonderful reflex save from Niemi kept the ball out.
In the first half Manchester City had created the most chances and should of been 2 or 3 up. Barton skyed the ball from 6 yards. Vassell shot wide in front of an open goal. And Niemi had made some fantastic saves.
The only chance for Panathinaikos was found on 4 minutes, when Claudio Lopez shot an inch wide.
Half Time - Panathinaikos 0 Manchester City 0
Whatever Clayton Green told his men at half time. It worked. The Greek side came out looking like hungry lions. With a roaring crowd behind them!!
1 minute into the second half Petrov found himself clear only to be denied by the post!
On 55 minutes Calve for Manchester City hit the cross bar!!
A minute later Basinas did some show boating for the fans, which really lifted their spirits! Although Manchester City still were getting chances. Panathinaikos seemed to be playing better!
With Marcus Allback getting ready to come on. Papadopolous must of known it was for him. So now he decided he had now turned up.
A shot sliced wide and a wonderful strike that was wonderfully saved by David James, had shown that in the last few minutes, that he did not want to leave the pitch.
On 75 minutes he was substituted for Marcus Allback. Panathinaikos had won a corner. But the corner which many thought would be in Allbacks direction found it self to little Aarron LENNON who headed past James!! 1-0.
A minute later Allback shot a delicate chip which had James back peddling to push over the bar!
Niemi with not much to do this half was finally called upon, in the 83rd minute. A half volley was struck well, but Niemi spectaculary palmed it away.
With 6 minutes left. Lennon nearly grabbed his 2nd of the night. But his drive found it self whistle past the post.
Full Time - Panathinaikos 1 Manchester City 0
    MOM - Antti Niemi

Greens Greeks vs Toms Argies - NEXT

"This will probably be one of the biggest matches of the season!!"

With Hamburgs Darshan in top spot, Green 2nd with Panathinaikos. Lukes Dep.La Coruna in 3rd and Toms River Plate in 4th. It shows the Forumers know what they are doing!!
Clayton Green has said that the top four probably will be there or there abouts.
"This league is very very tough. Now the likes of Sevilla and Liverpool are in here, it is going to be a tougher challenge than last season. But in my oponion I think the top four now will be the teams to beat. All managers I know quite well. And so our next game against River Plate will be extremely tough. Also as it is away from home. This will be a 6 pointer i think. But I rested a few players for this Manchester City game. One being Rothen, who has been the best player for us so far this season. Also, we have a few argentinians, so maybe they will be able to play in the heat over there. But I know my team will give 101%. They always do, from which I am grateful"

    Crushed Cruzeiro are Cupped

2nd placed Panathinaikos in Division 3 beat high flyers in Division 2 Cruzeiro 4-1 at The Arena tonight!

With Panathinaikos unbeaten so far this season, it looks like Clayton Green's side are starting exactly where they finished from last season!
It looked like it was gonna be Cruzeiro who would be the team tonight. When only a inute was played when DIARRA had an amazing chance only to fluff it over the bar from 6 yards!!
But 3 chances in 7 minutes from Panathinaikos showed they were not going to be a walk over!! ROTHEN hit the side netting. PAPADOPOLOUS had a 25 yard strike go past the post. And PETROV'S lob beat the keeper but went over the bar!!
However Matt Phillips side took the lead after 18 mins when SCHLAUDRAFF made no mistake from 15 yards!! 0-1 Ou of nowhere!!
This only encouraged Panathinaikos to push forward!! On 20 minutes GIMINEZ made a great little run only to see his shot brush the post.
On 23 minutes DONI made a wonderful save in the Cruzeiro goal. But it had to come. And it did. 6 minutes later Jerome ROTHEN, who has been a great player already this season, shot one in off the the post!!! 1-1!
Minute later PEPE had a header just over the bar. Cruzeiro looked dazed and could only muster up one more chance of the half when Altintop HALIL turned skillfully but rifled the shot wide. After this, it was all the home side!!!
Minute later, a second goal came for Panathinaikos. PAPADOPOLOUS made no mistake from the defensive error and calmly rounded the keeper to take the lead! 2-1.
And only a minute after the goal on 37 minutes. It could of been 3-1. But Doni made a fully stretched save from a shot of 30 yards, and he tipped it around the post! Close shave!
Again on 38 minutes PETROV headed over.
And a penalty appeal was not given on 39 minutes when it looked like PEPE was fouled.
Half Time Score: Panathinaikos 2 Cruzeiro 1
Whatever Matt Phillips said to Cruzeiro at half time. It seemed to have worked. They kept the ball and played well. NIEMI had to make a reflex save to keep the ball out and SERGIO CONCEICAO was making some wonderful touches and passing. But unfortunately could not turn them into great chances for the Brazilian based side.
The next chance fell to the home side on the 54th minute. GIMINEZ found himself some space but rushed his shot, instead of finding the corner he put it straight into the keepers hands!
Cruzeiro again were putting the pressure on. But some great influential work and tackling from EDU DRACENA seemed to give an effective resaponse from Panathinaikos!!
When on 62 minutes, the ball was played square to GIMINEZ who rasped home a screamer for 3-1 to the Greeks!!
Now, this you would of thought would blow the wind out of Cruzeiro's sails!! No. It did not! Cruzeiro threw caution to the wind. And started attacking!
On 66 minutes SCHLAUDRAFF, who had not done much since the early goal. Had a shot from nowhere that just went wide!
5 minutes later NIEMI had to clear some danger from Cruzeiro!!!
But on 74 minutes, because of the attacking style of Cruzeiro, Panathinaikos made a break but the shot was turned around the post by DONI!! Wonderful save!
6 minutes later. Again a ball over the top, and the counter attack is on, one on one with DONI!! But again the keeper wins the battle again!
81 minutes gone, GIMINEZ bursts through the lacking defence, but only to see his first touch get to Doni in time!!
6 minutes to go a chip from Panathinaikos sees Doni back peddaling to push over the line, then from the corner it was headed out to Petrov, who jinxed past 2 players on to fumble his shot!!
With one minute to go, a defensive error from a corner from Cruzeiro was pounced on by PRESSLEY who toe poked home! 4-1. Game over!
Full Time: Panathinaikos 4 Cruzeiro 1

    Division 3 Round Up

In yesterdays games, saw a few shocks and some very big games!!
First of all Cruzeiro who were top lost at home to Sampdoria 1-3. Cruzeiro now drop to 3rd and Sampdoria jump up 3 places to 2nd!!
Atl. Bilboa manager Teb will be extremely unhappy with their result. As they lost 0-2 at home to struggling Aston Villa! They have now dropped out of the top 3 to 5th!
Lazio had a great win away to Fiorentina! Winning 1-4. This is Lazio's 3 win on the trot. And now have moved to the top of the table!
Deportivo La Coruna boss Luke will be unhappy yet again at the performance of his team. As they could only draw 1-1 to Besiktas. Deportivo were top or 2nd for most of the season. But now with no wins 6 games. They look to be a side that lacks confidence.
Sevilla drew 1-1 to Sao Paulo. And remain in 6th place.
And finally Panathinaikos thrashed Villarreal away from home 1-4. This is now the 3rd win on the trot. Although they boast the best form of the top 7 teams it is looking little too late for the Greek side.
    1. Lazio 66
    2. Sampdoria 65
    3. Cruzeiro 64
    4. Dep. La Coruna 64
    5. Atl. Bilbao 63
    6. Sevilla 61
    7. Panathinaikos 59
Now...........with only two games left. How does it look?
    1st place Lazio
Lazio have taken 10pts from a possible 18pts. But have won their last 3 games. Next, they will play 5th place Atl. Bilbao and then travel to Celtic as their last game. However, Siviglia, one of their CB's got sent off and will miss the rest of the season. And Liverani is doubtful for the next game as he is not match fit! Media Prediction: 2nd
    2nd place Sampdoria
Sampdoria have taken 12pts from a possible 18pts. They have won 4 in their last 6 games. Next, they will play Villarreal at home. This should be a home banker for Fraser's side. And then they are away to Fiorentina. Sampdoria are expected to win both games. But for their next game, 4 players are not match fit, and two of them is Friedrich and Fiore, who are first team players. Media Prediction: 1st
    3rd place Cruzeiro
Cruzeiro have had a tough time of late, only picking up 7pts from a possible 18. They have also lost their last 3 games! There next game they travel to Dep.La Coruna. Who incidently are the only team in the top half with a worse recorded form than Cruzeiro. This will be a very interesting match for both out of touch sides. As it is a must win, as it is very likely that whoever wins will gain promotion. Cruzeiro then travel to Besiktas for their last game. One thing is correct tho. Is that Cruzeiro have a fully fit squad!
    Media Prediction: 3rd
    4th place Dep. La Coruna
Deportivo have had some dismal performances recently. No wins in their last 6 games. This makes their game against Cruzeiro even more important! Their last game finds them travelling to Villarreal. Sergio is still injured for them.
    Media Prediction: 4th
    5th place Atl.Bilboa
Atl. Bilboa have won 4 games out of 6. Unfortunately they have lost their last 2 games!! And they have the toughest 2 games to finish on. First they are away to Lazio and then home to in form Panathinaikos! We can't see them getting promotion. Against teams in the promotion chase. The only teams they have beaten is Cruzeiro and Dep. La Coruna twice. Against Lazio they lost 2-1 and lost 5-2 to Panathinaikos!!
    Media Prediction: 7th
    6th place Sevilla
Sevilla have taken 10pts from their last 18. But have failed to win in their last 4 games! But they do have the easier games compared to the rest. They travel to Bayer Leverkusen, and then are at home to Middlesborough! But are without Frei. So, they will have to be strong in defence as their strikeforce without Frei has been poor.
    Media Prediction: 6th
    7th place Panathinaikos
The Greek side seem to be a team with great purpose. They have taken a great 15pts from a possible 18. Winning 5 games in 6. And 8 wins in 9! They next play at home to Fiorentina and then travel for a tough game to Atl. Bilbao. Despite Gimenez their influential striker being out for the last 6 games, (scoring 12 in 13 games), Panathinaikos have still been able to find the net easily. Also, in order for them to gain promotion. Cruzeiro and Dep.La Coruna must be a draw and they must lose their other matches!
    Media Prediction: 5th

    Division 3 Promotion Hopes

With 3 games to go in Division 3, its all hotting up.
Between 1st place team Cruzeiro and 5th place Sampdoria is only 2 points!!!
    1. Cruzeiro 64
    2. Atl.Bilbao 64
    3. Dep. La Coruna 63
    4. Lazio 63
    5. Sampdoria 62
    6. Sevilla 60
    7. Panathinaikos 56
Despite Cruzeiro being top of the league, they are going to have to look at their recent performances. Cruzeiro and Dep. La Coruna have both lost their last 2 games!
Cruzeiro have tough games to go against Sampdoria and Dep. La Coruna and an easier game against Besiktas.
Dep. La Coruna will play Besiktas, Cruzeiro and Villarreal, who are currently 17th!!!
2nd place team Atl. Bilbao play bottom of league team Aston Villa next. Then have two tough games against Lazio and In form Panathinaikos. They have won 4 out of their last 6 games.
Lazio play 18th placed Fiorentina, then play Atl. Bilboa and last game of the season against tricky Celtic. In their last 6 games they have only won 2. But it was their last 2 games!
5th placed Sampdoria will have a tough first game against Cruzeiro. But their last 2 games are the easiest out of the challengers, playing 17th Villarreal and 18th Fiorentina. They have a mixed bag as the form goes. With 3 wins and 3 losses.
However, 6th placed team Sevilla are the only team in the top 7 who dont have to play any rivals for the promotion spots. They play 11th Sao Paulo, 16th Bayer Leverkusen and 15th Unmanaged Middlesborough! But bearing in mind, Sevilla have not won for 3 games!
7th placed team, Panathinaikos are the team which has the best form. 5 wins and 1 loss. Also to take note their last 2 games they won were against 1st Cruzeiro and 3rd Dep. La Coruna. They will play Villarreal 17th, Fiorentina 18th, and finally a tough game away to Atl. Bilbao, 2nd.
Panathinaikos are 7 points behind the promotion spots. So, they need to win every game and rely on other results going there way! (Although not bad for a team who were 6 points a drift at the bottom of the league 20 games ago!)
The last 10 games show Panathinaikos are the top team. With Atl. Bilbao 2nd and joint 3rd Sampdoria, Cruzeiro and Lazio.
    Let the games begin!!

    Greek Menu: Roasted Frogs
Panathinaikos beat Auxerre at the Abbe-Deschamps 4-2.

And again the man in control was Christian GIMENEZ. 11 goals in 10 games now for the greek team.
After 12 minutes GIMENEZ skipped inside his marker and hit a curling shot past the keeper. 0-1
But after 30 minutes, Kaboul of Auxerre scored a tap in for the equalizer. 1-1
3 minutes later. Again GIMENEZ hit a screamer from 25 yard only to be denied by the cross bar.
But on 35 minutes. BASINAS went through, but scuffed his shot and miss hit, but it fumbled through Fabian Cool's hands into the net!! 1-2.
The second half was very much the same. Chances going to both sides. After 56 minutes from some excellent passing. GIMENEZ was through on goal and finished with ease to make it 3-1 to Panathinaikos!!!
The next 15 minutes saw Auxerre pile on the pressure. WILLIAMS missed an absolute sitter from 5 yards. A last ditch tackle by PEPE saved defensive blushes by the greek side also.
But on 67 minutes, AKALE fro Auxerre thumped a low drive 20 yards out. Back in with a shout!! 2-3!
2 minutes later again GIMENEZ found himself for a hattrick opportunity, but missed with a shot past the post!!
With 15 minutes to go, Panathinaikos were looking like the stronger team. And when the chance fell to ZDEBEL, he turned quickly to fire into the bottom corner. 4-2 to Panathinaikos.
Another 3 points in the bag to the most in form team in the division. 36 points from a possible 45. And that is not bad considering 13 games ago they were sitting 6 points adrift at the bottom of the league!!! Now they have moved up to 8th!!!
They still yet to play the bottom 3 teams. So they will try and push up even more up the league!!

Spanish Armada Hit The Rock of Roma
    Sevilla 2 Roma 5

Clayton Green's Roma side finished off Alan Nellers Sevilla side with some quality finishing.
Roma had an amazing 61% of possession in the game. But Sevilla had played great counter attacking football but could not put their chances away.
The game could not of started any better for Roma, when Cristian CHIVU skipped past a defender and curled the ball around Palop into the bottom corner from 25 yards. 0-1.
And things only got worse for Nellers side. A defensive error at the back caused MANCINI to collect the ball and used his quick feet to dodge around the keeper and slip into the net for 2-0 to Roma.
After 10 minutes Sevilla could of brought one back, but Enzo MARESCA could only shoot the ball into the keepers hands from within the six yard box!!!
But despite this faliure, Neller urged his men on, and in the 16th minute, a wonderful cross met the head of Correia ADRIANO who climbed over the defender and forced the header into the bottom corner. 1-2.
But Roma were to be the strongest side of the first half, when Daniele DE ROSSI took the ball forward and lashed the ball past Palop from 15 yards. 1-3.
And after 24mins, a long ball down the middle was contolled by Antonio DI NATALE, and on his debut slotted home to make it 4-1 to Roma before half time.
The second half started at a much slower pace than the first. With Claytons men, deciding to keep more of the possession. Dirnei RENATO however for Sevilla took the ball and smashed it against the crossbar after 53 minutes and not long after Freddi KANOUTE had a glancing header squeeze across the face of the goal, but there was no one to turn it in.
4 minutes after this incident, came possibly a life line for Sevilla. Correia ADRIANO manage to receive the ball fro Sevilla and had a shot, the ball looked like it was going wide, but a wicked deflection took it past the wrong footed Roma keeper and nestled in the corner of the italians net. 2-4.
But it really was all in vein. When on the 76th minute, some great passing skills from the Roma team, the ball was played across the goal, for captain Francesco TOTTI to tap in from a yard, a poachers goal. 5-2 to Roma.
    And there the score finished.
Now that moves Roma up to 5th. But with the season just started it will be hard to tell until at least another 5 games to see who the teams are gonna be , who will push for promotion.
Roma still have a few transfer targets. And Clayton Green is said to be very happy with his transfers so far this season.
However speculation still grows over whether Totti is wanted by Clayton Green. Despite being the teams club captain and talisman, Clayton Green has not ruled out the possibility of Totti possible moving for a good deal!

    Will Totti stay?
