  1. Re: Shakhtar ratings

Honestly, I got so fed up with the Russian/Ukraine ratings that I've sold any players I have in those leagues, no matter how good I know they are.

    They players are good

    The leagues are good

They do well in the champions league

But it doesn't matter to SM

  2. Re: ballotelli

Judging by how slowly ratings are going up this last year or so, you'll be lucky to have a 93 rated balotelli by the time you have stopped playing the game / are dead.

He will probably languish at 90 for at least another 6 months for no reason.

  3. Re: Serie A - Ratings Prediction 2010/2011 (II)

Hi people what about Cambiasso in the next review will he stay or drop?

I think he's a brilliant player, but I would be suprised if he didn't drop. 95 is rare/high, and he has not been playing near level that for a while now, even just in the context of the Italian league, which you could argue has become weaker.

  4. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help)

"I have some of best young players in the game and due to concerns I'm forced to play them ahead of the older best players in the game, this is nonsense" (paraphrased)

Oh boo-hoo. None of your super squads could exist in reality, and that's what concerns are (slowly) fixing. And stop complaining about not getting instant results as you try to band-aid your already well neglected players.

And stop looking at just your team, ever think to look at some of the other, downtrodden, ruined squads in your set-up that you have strip mined to destruction? Teams which people give up on because they can't even grab some promising youth with their measly funds, as your "completely realistic" youth academy harbours all 278 players worth a damn.

    Bunch of narcissistic cry babies.

  5. Re: "Ronaldo's Saviour?" .:| Bruno Cesar - AM - 21/74 - Corinthians |:.

    Looks like a keeper.

Has made a good start at Benfica. Tough to break into that squad so he's mostly coming on as a sub, but can you say super-sub?

3 goals in 4 appearances as a midfielder. Goals/minute ratio must be insane, and they aren't tap-in's either...

Well SM if you are bothered to look at the league games you would know I bought sanchez at the back of last season and so you can't put the "...78 games" thing. Next thing "Sorry your player has played 22 out of 116 games' date='"

I just feel SM are just looking for excuses , rather than admitting a mistake.

BTW whats with the CLOSE THE TICKET thing?[/quote']

You are being picky, Looks like the concern system is being smart enough here to know you are trying to dupe it. This simulates the player being "intelligent" enough to know that you are only playing him because he is concerned, and he will be sidelined as soon as his concern goes.

As in real life, a player of his quality with that many players ahead of him at a club WOULD want to leave.

  7. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help)

This is the problem with SM.

    Feedback and information.

It's virtually impossible to play a game effectively unless you understand the rules. SM is so vague in so many aspects of it's game that my main interest was simply through aquiring risers.

Elements of the game such as concerns shouldn't be a "black art" where we're all guessing what to do. It's the same with tactics' date=' the feedback from games is so pitiful that it's as much a throw of the dice as anything.

I do like SM a lot, but it could do with some real work to turn it into a top quality product. I think they have all the hard stuff right, it's the match engine/system and explaining rules to players that is letting it down.[/quote']

    Couldn't agree with you less.

    1) This is a free game

    2) It's really popular, if it was so bad people would flock to some other game.

    3) You want it to be MORE explicit? If it was more explicit it would become more boring as some people would sit with a calculator and work out the best way to do everything and post it on a forum, then everyone could see the exact method for success and it would take massively away from the unpredictability of it all. The fact that it is somewhat of a black art is a GOOD thing. I think they've done an amazing job.

As for concerns I'm tired of reading people complain about them, they are absolutely not strict enough as soccermanager clubs are still much, much bigger than real life clubs, and players aren't requesting moves fast enough.

  8. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help)

I'm happy with them at the moment' date=' I think if you are smart enough to keep concerns at bay while being able to keep a full squad of decent rated players, then good on you[/quote']

Well, I differ on this, I think if someone can keep 30+ top players in their squad and keep them all happy it's a flaw in the system and not their management skills, because it wouldn't happen in reality.

  9. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help)

    Player concerns aren't strict enough.

Still, 2 years or whatever later, I've seen only about 2 players actually go on the transfer list because they reached Level 5 concern.

All the clubs with hugely over inflated squads of good players just rotate their squad a bit more so concerned players get played, and everything is fine.

There have been at least 3 soccermanager seasons passed since this was introduced, it's not working sufficiently. I'd like to think a player with concerns about their club wouldn't take 3 seasons to decide.

  10. I think he's been forgotten about by SM the last 2 rounds of spanish ratings.

He came good mid way through last season and this season has been one of Athelico's best players, getting lots of MoM awards along the way. 89 is just too low, he's a high 90 bordering on 91.

  11. Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread

Can't wait for the El Clasico tomorrow - should be a great game of football :)

Really? Have you watched the last couple on Real Barca games? They weren't --that- bad, but Madrid (ie Mourinho's ego) will play with 8 defenders, fronted by Ozil and Ronaldo, and counter attack. In that last game Ronaldo was his only starting "striker". Ultra negative approaches don't make great games.
