    New Face at Sampdoria

(Aleksei Popov (Left) looks to strengthen Josh Newmans back four.)

Josh Newman has made his first signing as new manager bringing in 31 year old Centre Back Aleksei Popov.
Aleksei is a very experienced player, Playing 582 games in total and scoring 16 goals. The Russian cost Sampdoria around £6.6 Million.
Popov signed for Malmö FF from Amkar last season but has since had troubles fitting in. Players were becoming jealous and were singling him out.
Josh Newman seemed delighted with this signing saying; " This is a fantastic signing for him (Popov) and the club. I am thrilled, and look forward to seeing him play for us. We are still on the look out for back up, so I will be spending more money but we need too because we are lacking players in important positions.
Leonardo Borzani picked up an injury in our last match but we only expect him to be out for 7-9 days. You can find more injury information on our website."

    Katsouranis Wants Out

Josh Newman today confirmed that 30 year old, Kostas Katsouranis has requested to be transferred.
The Greek international was Henk ten Cate’s last signing before leaving the club in early July 2009.
“It is believed that Katsouranis has not fitted into the club as well as he would of liked, and has therefore requested to be transferred.” Josh Newman told the newspaper.
“We will be looking for around 12 million for him.”
The defensive midfielder has only played 2 games for Panathinaikos, but scored in one of them in a Champions League qualifier against Sparta Prague.
Before coming to Panathinaikos Katsouranis was at Portuguese club Benfica where he played 80 games and scored 10 goals.
Katsouranis was a regular for Greece and played in their triumphant victory over Portugal in the Euro 2004 finals.
He scored his first goal against Kazakhstan in a 2006 Fifa World Cup Qualifier where he has a regular for the team.
He then became an impact player in their bid to try and retain the crown in the Euro 2008 campaign.

    Osasuna 3-2 Atlético Madrid

Osasuna make it two wins out of three after a thrilling match at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra. Osasuna beat Atlético Madrid 3-2 which put them up into fourth place. The tight match was watched by 17,046 fans.
Osasuna grabbed the lead in the 6th minute after terrible defending let Walter Pandiani get his second goal of the campaign.
Then in the 29th minute Javad Nekounam extended Osasuna's lead after he hit a fabulous half-volley from the edge of the area which flew past Atlético goalkeeper Leo Franco.
Osasuna then grabbed a third as Santiago Ezquerro smashed a venomous shot into the roof of the net to give the striker his first goal this season.

In the second half it was all Altlético Madrid.
Sergio Aguero tapped in a rebound from a yard out to give his team a fighting chance.
Aguero then managed to get a second goal in the 79th minute as Osasuna goalkeeper Roberto fumbled a shot into his path.
The match really slowed down after that as both teams were tired and giving away possession cheaply.
Sergio Aguero picked up the Man Of The Match.

" Yes I am extremely happy with my teams performance. Again I feel my team could of been better at the back and I am dissapointed that we let in 2 goals but other than that we were excellent. "

Even if you accept I would be surprised if the other chairman let it through as he is unlikely to value Gallas that highly.
Gallas' SM value is £6.1m so even if the other chairman values him at twice that, he wouldn't be willing to offer £15m PLUS players likely to be worth about the same again.
I think the offer is reasonable if you need cash and cover, but you will need to rejig it if you want it to go through.

I would go for Gago as backup because he is quite young atm but in a few seasons he will rise and will be a possible candidate for your first team.
For the first team option I would go for Alonso because I think he still will rise up by 1 or 2 ratings, but i cant see Cambiasso and Pirlo rising anymore.
